Good Marriott to stay at if you're a gold or platinum member. This is one of the only full-scale Marriott's I know that gives you free wi-fi in your room. All the other one's make you pay for it or use it in the lobby. That plus the concierge lounge and indoor jacuzzi makes for a pretty nice business trip stay.

It's worth a stay.  The hotel has gone through a recent remodeling (late 2006) and is looking refreshed.  

Newly refinished rooms brings this to the level of comfort you look for in this class of hotels.  (Big comfy beds with lots of pillows.)

I wish the room service ran a littler later than 11:00 pm.  A recently delayed flight left me there with the bar, restaurant, and room service all closed.  I was a tad disappointed.   And I wouldn't recommend strolling the neighborhood at that hour.  

I don't particularly recommend the restaurant.  It's ok for breakfast and maybe a light lunch.  

The bar is small and a little noisy.  It could have been the boisterous medical device salesman, but it seem too loud for me.  

All that said, it's my preferred hotel in Chattanooga.

I am a frequent traveler on business and the Marriott is always my hotel of choice. The conceirge lounge was great as well as the rooms!  I'm not a fan of the pay for parking deal but you pay for quality!

Beware they charge $16 just for the privillage of leaving your car in their parking lot. Super tacky gave us some silly excuse well we don't own the lot. I'll never stay here again on principle. Don't mind paying for service hate having money extorted.

I got a pkg deal . room,parking,breakfast buffet for 2 for 129 a night. It was a good deal.The rooms was real nice.It had a flat screen TV  and movies in your room. The beds were great. It had  2 pools, one on the 3rd floor which is nice and one inside with a hot tub. It was worth the price. I think it's one best hotels in Chattanooga .

Toilet and Bath are not separate which makes it difficult for more than two people to get ready. Towels were thin. Bathroom door opens to close to toilet. Parking fee is outrageous and is not in a great location to walk to most attractions.

Oh lawd I haven't been on Yelp in so long I almost forgot what it was.

In other news the Sig Other and I decided to escape our respective cities for the night.  Chatt happens to be a 2 or so hour drive away so it became the obvious choice.  This hotel is nice but you can tell it's older despite the renovations.  There's nothing wrong with that, just wanted to mention it because pictures on the website can be a lil deceiving.

It's also a little further from the main downtown attractions but all it costs u is a bus ride on the free shuttle instead of walking to the aquarium.

Average hotel but not worth the price I paid thru priceline.  $10.93(tax included) daily parking fee.  Priceline rated this hotel 3.5 stars.  I rate it 2.5 stars.  The room was clean and the staff was friendly.  We stayed on Saturday and left Sunday.  There is a free shuttle stop right outside the hotel that goes all around downtown.

Very average hotel. Rooms were okay, nothing spectacular. Very noisy - thin walls - could hear conversations and water running in adjacent rooms. Elevators were slow at times. The parking garage was horrible - took me 30mins to get out of it when I was leaving town due to poor traffic flow. Multiple hotel staff blamed it on the Convention Center.

The staff was very friendly and hospitable, which was welcome after a long day of travel.  The room felt modern - the artsy black and white architecture pictures on the walls were a nice touch.  The bathroom wasn't in the best condition.  Free WiFi, ample towels, and glass cups for four - its is always nice when a hotel doesn't skimp on the amenities.  Glass elevators let you enjoy the view.   A bit pricey for the quality, but it is the high end business hotel in Chattanooga.

There's no free parking on the street, but paid self or valet parking is available in the attached convention center lot with in-and-out parking privileges.  TVA, Krystal, and obviously, the convention center are within walking distance for business travelers.

It's a Marriott like most others. Good service, nice room, decent breakfast in the concierge lounge. The only really negative thing about this place is the walk from the parking garage. It's attached to the hotel, but there's no pedestrian walk between the buildings. You have to walk up the driveway.

Clean rooms, clean sheets, comfy beds and quick friendly service. Valet was fast and friendly.

The hotel had an odd cavernous, empty feel to it and the common areas were freezing. The actual facility was charmless. Though I had a good experience here, I probably will opt for a hotel with more character the next time that I am in Chattanooga.

We've stayed here twice and had a good experience both times.  The location is great and the free electric shuttle stops right outside the back doors.  Other than one grumpy operator, every employee we interacted with was friendly and helpful.  The rooms are updated for the most part.  The only hitch this last visit was the shower.  Moving the knob the slightest bit changed the water temperature from freezing cold to scalding hot.  We're talking a millimeter of a turn.  That's the only part of the room that wasn't renovated in 2006 apparently.  We like to visit Chattanooga so we'll probably be back!

This hotel is not as bad as other have reviewed here-  in my opinion. However the hotel staff is very understaffed and the elevators are extremely slow. The lobby is very nice but the rest of the hotel is very pedestrian.  Because they do not "nickle and dime" you on the Internet access and a few other things this saves it from a two-star review.

The staff in general are not overly friendly but they are not unfriendly by any means. The valet staff are very good.

Overall the hotel is clean but is not a good value. Also there are not many places to walk to from this hotel but you can get the shuttle.

Don't walk.  Run away from this place!

 It is over rated in its rating on other sites.  For instance Priceline says this is a 3 1/2 our of 4 star hotel and I would have to disagree.  This is a 2 1/2 to 3 star hotel if it were clean.

$10 for parking which was not disclosed up front.

Free Wifi in the rooms which was a VERY nice bonus.

The beds are comfy and the rooms are nice.  I am a little mistified why they put these nice flat panel HD tvs in the rooms and then hooked them up to plain old analog cable.  The picture looks horrible, what a waste.

The staff was nice.

The real problem with the place and the reason it got a 2 out of 5 is room cleanness.  2 of the pillows in our room had what appeared to be blood stains on them, and it was obvious they had not even been washed since the blood was deposited.  So we KNOW our room isn't really clean.  It really makes you wonder if they really cleaned anything at all.  Did they change the sheets since the last person slept here?  My guess would be no.  If they don't care enough to remove blood stained pillows why would they care about clean sheets?

Then there was the shower.  As much water leaked out of the side of the shower head as what came out the front.  It was hard to take a shower because there was almost no water pressure because so much leaked out the side.  And the shower wasn't clean either.  There were numerous hairs on the walls of the shower.

This place is really lacking in one of the fundamental issues in a hotel.  Being clean.

This marriott gets a solid three stars and not higher due to the age of the bathrooms. Odd that they added granite tops yet the toilets barely flush. The staff was excellent. Our room was much cleaner than our previous stay in May 2011.  Overall good stay.

The staff is 5 star- from the front desk to the valet staff.  Hotel itself is fine, though one of those Marriotts that hasn't been remodeled in a while.  Still, would gladly stay here again if ever back in Chattanooga.

We did not have the noise issues others have complained about. The staff was very helpful, making reservations for some great restaurants for us. We found the walk to the aquarium and the Creative Discovery Museum doable for us and our 7 year old son. We would not suggest walking out after dark.

The room decor was typical Marriott decor. (I stay in a lot of them for business travel.). Our room was clean.  The bathroom functioned well though a little small...the bathroom door barely clears the toilet.  The shower head provided plenty of pressure but it was as basic as they come.  A few real towel bars would be nice so the towels will actually dry.

One nice surprise was the pecan bourbon bread pudding.  I don't typically like hotel food...typical isn't very good compared to the price.  However, we promised our son dessert and we were tired and didn't want to go back out. So my son got the chocolate cake a la mode.  I got the bread pudding. Wow! It was incredibly good!  Wow!

Supposedly Marriott is further up the totem pole compared to a Courtyard Marriott, but I didn't feel this was the case for this hotel. I felt as if it was just was dingy, if not more dingy (sans lobby), than a Courtyard Marriott. I think this is the first time staying at a Marriott chain where I've had the following issues:

1. I could hear the person next door - clearing his throat, cell phone alarm,  conversation on the phone, etc.

2. The bathtub wasn't clean upon arrival. Someone else's curly hair was around the tub, and the bar of soap used by the previous guest was still in the bathtub. Gross.

The only reason why I'd stay here is because of the location. It's in a safe area (albeit dead at night). If you're going to the convention center, the hotel is attached, so it's convenient. But other than that, I wouldn't stay here again.

We needed somewhere off 75 to stay for the night to break up our trip. I read the reviews about this place and it is perfect! The front desk girl was so super nice when I checked and even offered us a different option. They have a Starbucks inside! Everything smelled clean and was superduper nice. We booked our room on Priceline.com and even get free breakfast! I have a family of five... We took a king size bed room with a pullout bed and it was plenty. Like other reviewer said... There is no elevator here. But of course we are staying only one night so that's no big deal! The girl at the front desk did offer us help!!!!! Comfortable beds superclean rooms and space....nice staff people.....continental breakfast and very close to lots of other restaurants and shopping! What more could you ask for?

We stayed here for a convention we were attending.  The staff is super friendly and helpful.  Check in was very smooth.  They have valet service and since we had more than one suitcase, it felt "mandatory" to use their services, but they did a great job and when we got to the room, everything was hung in the closet.  The room was older and it was okay.  No refrigerator if you are the type that likes to keep cold water or a piece of fruit with you.  The iron is buried deep in the closet, so you'll have to hunt for it if you have wrinkles.  The bathroom was incredibly small.  The bathroom door had to be closed in order to access the shower, but if you like little shampoo-type amenities, these are a cut above the norm.  The towels are nice too.  The bed was fine - nice bedding and pillows and those wonderful little book lights if you like to read in bed.  The rest of the furnishings could use a little sprucing up.  There is a Starbucks on premises for coffee and treats, and the restaurant on premises isn't bad.  Breakfast is particularly good.  There is an indoor walk way to the convention center and that is very convenient.  My biggest complaint about this hotel is that there is a charge for internet service - $6.95 for basic internet.  
I would not go out of my way to stay here, but for this particular stay it was more than adequate.

I should have guessed by the price of this Marriott that it would be a bad stay, but I thought maybe since I was booking through hotels.com I was getting a good deal. My husband and I usually stay at the DoubleTree when coming to Chattanooga, but the Marriott was almost half the price and only about a half a mile farther away from downtown, so I figured we would try it out.

Big mistake.

The room itself was pretty clean, although the shower head looked to be from the 80s and the bathroom ceiling was full of mold and mildew. The tub didn't drain and the water pressure was like being hit with a fire hose, so by the end of a 5-minute shower I was standing in a full tub of water. The air conditioning in our room didn't work very well, either, and even after setting it to 63 degrees the coolest our room ever got was 74.

I probably wouldn't have cared about any of this since we were just staying there one night after a baseball game, except I was only able to sleep two or three hours due to all of the noise outside our room. I don't know if it was because the hotel is old and the walls were thin or if we just had rude people on our floor, but we heard doors slamming and people yelling all night long. Oh, and I was woken up at 6 a.m. (on a Saturday morning, mind you) by housekeeping vacuuming right outside our room for about an hour. And more doors slamming, of course. I probably could have slept outside a bar and heard less noise than I did on this night I spent in the Marriott.

Nobody asked me how my stay was when I checked out, and I can see why: They must get a ton of complaints. Avoid this property at all costs. I will gladly continue to pay double to stay down the street at the DoubleTree the next time I am in town (which is often).

Good place if you have to stay downtown, but a lot of work going on at this hotel. Im sure once its all done it will be great. I am a major fan of Marriott. Stay with them about 2 or three times a week. The beds are nice and you will always be greeted with a smile.

Very convenient location for the conference we were attending at the Convention Center. The staff were friendly and helpful. I needed to get some documents printed and it wouldn't print from the business center, so they so kindly let me behind their lobby desk to print off their printers.
The cleaning staff was not up to par.  Out of the 5 nights we stayed there, they came by to clean and fix the bed once. I asked for clean towels by the second to the last night. All the other times, they would come by after 3 pm or while we were in the room.  The time I asked for clean towels, she cleaned the bathroom with a dirty towel off the ground.
Disappointed that there wasn't a fridge in the room, considering the rate of the hotel.
Bathroom was small, the door would hit the toilet as we would open and close it.
The workout gym was good.  I made use of the treadmill (with tv attached) and free weights. It was nice they had a filtered water cooler.

What a great hotel experience!  First, I would like to note that the valet kid was WAY too chatty.  Yes, Alex, I am personable and showed up in jeans, but Chattanooga is hot and muggy in September and making me stand outside (oh and get my own suitcase out of the trunk) and then keep talking and shoot the sh*t with me for 5 minutes is not great... let's keep it moving.

Once I got inside, everyone was fabulous!  The young lady came out from behind the desk to great me.  She didn't ask if I was checking in (I had a suitcase) - she asked if she could check me in (bonus points).  I gave her my name and she told me everything about me (Gold Marriott, who I was with, I had a feather-free room and was there for 2 nights).  Awesome.  She gave me a key card, explained I had access to the concierge lounge for evenings and breakfast (on the 16th floor) and it was still open if I needed a drink or a snack.

I went up to my room and got comfortable.  I easily found the luggage rack in the closet, set it up and unpacked somewhat.  I unpacked my laptop and plugged it in.  I changed clothes into a dinner-worthy outfit and shoes and headed back to the lobby after emailing my work mates (who I had never met - or seen).

In the lobby there were water urns with different fruits in them, so I sat and drank some strawberry water and relaxed while I waited for my friends.

Sleeping was comfortable - the bed was great (no feather at all).  Now, the shower.  WOW the water pressure.  IN-sane.  This place has the craziest, hardest, strongest water pressure EVER!  Not a problem, but just nutty.  What I will say was bad was the temperature.  HOT.  And I mean DAMN HOT. Scalding.  In the shower and from the faucet.  If you just turn on the hot water from the tap, which I did, I burned my hand. Luckily, I checked the water before getting in the shower.

Breakfast was great in the concierge lounge.  Plenty of food, great staff (no glasses, so the young lady was quick to get me one for my juice), juices (3 choices), coffee and the food was yum.

After two nights/two mornings, check out was a breeze.  My receipt was under the door, getting my car from valet was easy (even though I had misplaced my ticket) and the valet gentleman was much less chatty than when I arrived.  This is definitely a Marriott I would return to again - I just have to remember the temperature of their hot water next time.

I love Marriott. I even have a Marriott credit card so I can get my points and have never had a bad experience...until now. To begin, I would like to state how nice their staff is (the only pro from this trip sadly). And even when my car got trapped in the parking garage for 20 minutes making me almost miss my cousin's wedding (and my mom was ummmmm not a happy camper) the valet was doing everything he could to get our car out. And $14 a night for valet is pretty darn reasonable I might add (ok, another pro from the trip).

The bad? Well, the elevators took FOREVER even though there were 4 of them. And the room? Ugh...stains everywhere. The chair in the corner was covered in white stains and the bedskirt was also sporting some suspicious marks. I refused to take my flip flops off because I didn't want to to touch the carpet. And there are elevators bigger than this bathroom...so so so tiny. The door touched the toilet - so cramped - and not at all what I'm used to at a Marriott. This place desperately needs to be updated. And the housekeeper didn't even come until 4 pm Saturday which was highly annoying (she did apologize though, again, super nice people working there).

We got a huge wedding block discount rate so for our 2 nights our bill was only $300...but if we paid normal rates (i.e. a penny more) I would have been flat out irate.

My family and I stayed here this past weekend for a dance competition that my daughter was in.  The staff is VERY friendly (Nate at front Desk was terrific!) and the reason is because the Hotel's Manager Tom Underwood is very engaged in what goes on.  He sent an email in advance of our stay and responded to some questions that I had via the phone. It is a pleasure to deal with someone that is accessible, friendly, and professional. The hotel is located in the heart of Chattanooga and has shuttles for anything else. Hotel is updated, nice, and clean and will definitely stay again!

Probably the most comfortable bed I have slept on at a hotel.  Awesome concierge service on the top floor.  As always with Marriott, top-notch professional service.  Good food.  Nice albeit small heated indoor pool.  

Saunas where out of order.  Parking is an issue.

Wow. Pay for parking. Expensive room - no fridge. Breakfast - mediocre and overpriced. (What happened to complimentary breakfast?) hotel has that distinct old smell. Bar is pricey but nice getaway. Wifi is decent.. Oh wait they revoked our wifi privledges half way through our stay! The wifi that we had TO PAY EXTRA FOR?! Seriously.. Find a best western. This is sad. You have to pay extra for the stuff they do have and its mediocre.. At least everywhere else their mediocrity is free!

The only pro's - wonderfully comfortable bed and nice toiletries.

Will trade expensive shampoo for fridge and free wifi.

I have stayed in many hotels here in downtown Chattanooga. Some good some really bad and some even really great. This one falls in the really good hotels. The furniture is really nice and in great condition. The rom is very roomy not a closet like one down the road. There is a nice work space which I sit at now. The staff in the beginning wasn't very helpful. After the first night and finally getting checked in. It was my bosses fault anyway. But, we got in and everything from there worked out really well. The valet guys are great very nice and helpful. I once forgot something in my car and had to go back down. I told the valet guy and off he went without saying anything. Next thing I knew here was my truck and I was able to get what I needed and off he went with my car again. It is a grat hotel and close to everything downtown. I will return and I hope I get to stay here again.

Friendly front desk staff! The lobby was BEAUTIFUL! The chandelier was so pretty. The room was very clean l. Our view was alright we saw the parking garage and an empty dirty pool but could see the mountains! The thing I didn't like was that it was almost $12 to pay for parking after taxes but I guess that's what they do here? Either way...I would definitely stay here again

I was lucky enough to get to see Kristin L last night, when she was here for business, and happy to visit her at the Marriott.

This is one of Marriott's convention center hotels, so it is big and it's designed for large groups, meetings, etc. Huge lobby, but it's welcoming and it's also pretty! Good layout for the meetings/convention rooms to be apart from the guest rooms (so it would be an ok place if you just stayed here as a regular guest visiting Chatt). A nice feature is that all entrance doors other than the main lobby lock after 10p and can only be opened with a valid guest key. Good safety feature.

We met in the bar area upstairs - she'd had a verrry long day and needed a glass of wine or two! - and the staff was great. They are used to dealing with business folks who need to unwind; while we were the quiet ones who were easy, several groups of business guys were a little more, um, fun. The manager kept a good eye and by closing at 11, the staff smoothly got everyone out.

Good food menu, of mostly typical hotel fair (club sandwiches, salads, some pasta and such) and surprisingly decent prices (ie a mixed green salad with chicken added is $12 which isn't crazy more than at a local restaurant).

Not an elegant or historic place like the Read House, but it does its job well and is definitely a place to consider when you are on business travel.

First, the pros. The BED. That bed was so comfy! I was here for work in long meetings and that bed was just scrumptious on my exhausted self. The room was spotlessly clean. The women behind the bar were very funny and personable.

The cons. Front desk clueless on every occasion I interacted with them. Starting with my late arrival (as planned with my reservation), when I trudged from the horrific parking garage (another con) down a long tunnel to arrive at a locked door. House phone? Okay, sure. Answer? Not the first time, not the second, not the third. Twenty rings each time before it disconnected. I banged on the door with my fist, to no avail. The fourth time she answered. A guy let me in.

Exhausted, I went to check in. No apology, no nothing. In fact, she said "no problem". Yes, it in fact was a problem.

Breakfast was supposed to come with my company rate, but she said no. Multiple lookups, still no. Finally she looked it up in a THREE RING BINDER because we had apparently traveled back in time to 1983. And found it.

That bed was comfy though. Both stars to the bed

I'm a Hilton loyalist (gold) but decided to give this place a try to check out the competition.  I guess I picked the wrong hotel, because I know not all Marriotts can be this bad.

The valet was friendly but did not offer to take the empty bottles I was holding to discard.  He did assist with removing bags from the trunk.

I booked a concierge level king (16th floor I assumed).  They must have been out of rooms because I got "upgraded" at check in to an executive king (simply a slightly larger room) on the THIRD floor next to some conference rooms.  I understand that things happen, but dont insult my intelligence by pitching it as a positive for me.  The room also had a connecting door to another room, which you should avoid at all costs if you still decide to stay here.  I could hear the dude in the next room so clearly he may as well have been sleeping on my sofa.  

The room was reasonably clean.  There were only 2 towels rather than the customary 4.  There was also only one bar of soap to split between the sink and the shower.  The bathroom was tiny and cramped, barely room between the toilet and the door.  The toilet was also tiny, not a standard large one that you'd find in most places.  The bed was reasonably comfortable but nothing that I would rave about.

I headed up to the concierge lounge the next morning since I still had access due to my rate.  It was about 30 minutes before it was supposed to close, and there was literally NOTHING left from the morning pillage.  So I grabbed a diet pepsi out of the fridge to at least make it partially worth my while and left.

I surely would look elsewhere if you're staying in Chattanooga.   This place needs some serious updating.

Alright, I expect more out of a Marriott. The hotel is old but they've attempted to update the rooms. The updated bathroom is cramped but it's sufficient if you're here by yourself. The carpet seems newer, as does some of the furniture.
The bartender, I think his name was Adam, was great. I got some M & M's and strawberry water.
The service was good BUT I paid for parking in a garage that seemed forever away through a crosswalk that was probably 100 degrees! The thermostat in the room didn't work. They offered to let us change rooms but we didn't realize, when we got in late last night, and we check out tomorrow. We'll make it until we get home tomorrow to be nearly 10 degrees cooler in our own house.
Breakfast wasn't bad, the buffet, and our service was exceptional.
I really just can't get over the fact that they aren't really keeping up and that the thermostat isn't working... The service is what made 2 stars.... This old hotel needs upkeep.

After spending the night in the Marriott Knoxville and having the worst experience ever I was not looking forward to checking into another Marriott hotel, but me being the brand loyal patron that I am I gave it another shot - although the Knoxville Manager's response was rude and insulting and left a bitter taste in my mouth for the brand I will review this hotel objectively.

The front desk staff is very nice and after making a few mistakes the quickly corrected them. What is the point of having a customer database if you don't follow what the customers what. When I brought to their attention the mistake they made they quickly resolved them and all was good.

The hotel is next door to the convention center and easily accessible to all of downtown; however it is on the far end so unless you have to be next to the convention center you won't be in the heart of things.  But Chattanooga is a nice city to walk around and they offer a shuttle everywhere so its all good.

The room was spacious and newly decorated, and was a good value for the money.

The bathroom was a little small, but it was just me and I guess I have just gotten use to the HUGE bathrooms that the Ritz offer!

I dined at the restaurant for breakfast the next morning and declared that I had the best Sausage and Gravy known to man.  This was better than the ones your granny made.....

All in all this was a good hotel and a place that I really suggest that you stop in when you are in the area!
