Outstanding location and close to about everything.  Room was great and very clean.  Downside was really high prices for breakfast but it is a Starbucks so what do you expect.

I stayed one night on a business trip. The was clean, the staff was excellent, and the location was perfect.

It was fairly clean, but the bathroom really grossed me out.  It was old, the ceiling and corners of the bathroom were crumbling and there was a funky smell.  I took 2 showers as we were only there for 1 night, and both times, I had warm water for the first 5 seconds... then I couldn't get warm water... they had no comforter... it was just a sheet and thin bed cover... I give the one star for the professional and kind demeanor of the staff...but that's about it.

Close to everything downtown, with a well appointed lobby. The rooms were plain, not bad at all, but it is still a Courtyard.

Excellent hotel with basic, business-traveler amenities.  A way better hotel than the old Sheraton down the street.  There's food from Big River across the street if you want it (and you will), but there's a pizza joint in the same building around the corner that's good too that sort of doubles as the hotel bar, but then there's a cash bar in the lobby in the early evenings, which is nice when you're checking emails in the lobby.

Excellent location - literally across the street from the Aquarium, practically across the street from the Lookouts' baseball park.  In fact all the main attractions can be found on foot, depending on how in shape you are (there are some small hills that aren't too difficult to climb).

By far the greatest asset to the hotel is the staff.  Everyone from the front desk to the girls in housekeeping were friendly, helpful, and professional.    Even the pool guys would ask how you liked the water temperature.  It was like staying with family.  They greeted you as you left the hotel, greeted you when you returned, and were more than happy to chat with you if you were waiting for someone in the lobby.   I'm certain this attitude contributed to the overall good humor of the other hotel guests, because everyone was in a great mood, even as the hotel became overrun with families over the Memorial Day weekend.

I won't stay anywhere else in Chattanooga (and I have stayed elsewhere when visiting down there).  I highly recommend it.

Located just next to the Tennessee Aquarium, everything we wanted to do in Chattanooga was in walking distance (aquarium, children activity center, the river, and places to eat). The hotel is just what you'd expect from a Marriott with spacious rooms and pool. The only problem was overpriced breakfast and our room wasn't serviced the day after we checked in.

This is an excellent place to stay in the center of downtown Chattanooga. Good location, walking distance to many restaurants, the river and acquarium. The new Marriott lobby and breakfast bar, free wireless. Friendly staff, no hassles. I'd urge visitors to walk down the street for both breakfast and dinner, unless you are pushed for time. Parking is in a multi-level complex next door ($8) added to your room. Leave a few extra minutes in the morning to get your vehicle. Cost overall was a bit high I thought, but I think this facility is nicer than other downtown hotels I observed. Downtown is experiencing a revival it seems, lots of new places opening up, good to see!

The friendly staff get them the 4 stars instead of a 3. In as few words as possible, great location with what I need.  I can't speak to the rates since they were paid by someone else.  The bar looks nice and I wish I had a reason to drink something.  Not the fanciest of places to stay, but it gets the job done as my home away from home while I get my job done.

Location x 3 you can't beat it. Right next to the aquarium and most of the night life. That is clearly this hotels biggest perk. Our room was nice king bed flat screen mini very mini fridge big enough for a 12 pack. The bathroom was a nightmare small and seemed to flood after one shower and the fan made a terrifying noise. The water was super hot though that's good. The pool was tiny and indoor not great for summer time I say. The hot tub was full of kids...

There is no continental breakfast over 140 a night and no cereal or toast FU.  Parking is 8 bucks a day in the garage next door. I thought that was outradgeous. We parked on the 4th floor and it was just an unpleasant experience.

I wouldn't stay here again but if you can overlook some minor inconveniences the location is dope.

    The WiFi worked great.

My son and I stayed at the Courtyard Downtown on a Spring Break "mini-cation" to Chattanooga. I was very impressed by the decor of the lobby and bar area, which featured bright orange and blue accents as well as photos from the Tennessee Aquarium. The courtyard outside boasted durable wicker furniture and a large firepit, which would be lots of fun on cool nights.

We were fortunate enough to get a corner room, which was extra spacious and provided a nice view of the Tennessee Aquarium. The room was clean, and to my son's delight, offered a big flat screen television, and free Wifi for his iPad and Xbox. I had a hard time getting him out of the room! There were plenty of clean linens and towels provided, as well as the standard complimentary shampoo, soap, and lotion. Our room also had a mini-fridge just big enough for a few soda bottles. We enjoyed using the indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi, and were happy to find that pool towels were provided since we hadn't brought our own from home.

The best part about the Courtyard Downtown is most definitely the staff. Every employee that I came in contact with from check-in to check-out was friendly and helpful. They greeted us with a smile every time we walked through the lobby, and acted as if they sincerely enjoyed their job. Since I had never stayed at this particular hotel before, they assisted me with unloading  my car and finding the parking deck. They also made recommendations for family-friendly restaurants and entertainment in downtown Chattanooga.

The location is perfect for familes since it sits just across the street from the Tennessee Aquarium, and very close to a huge variety of restaurants, movie theaters, ice cream parlors, etc. It's also right beside the Visitor's Center, so if you've never visited Chattanooga before, you can easily attain more information about everything there is to do in Chattanooga (and there's a lot!). I would highly recommend the Courtyard Chattanooga Downtown to anyone who wants to be in the middle of everything in downtown Chattanooga. We had a great experience. :)

Vacation from our vacation, last min. Decided to hang out a night in Chattanooga.  The room was in a great location and was clean.  The problem came with the hidden fees.  I was quoted a military rate of $94.00, the bill was $280.00 we did have room service that was $48.00 with a automatic 18% gratuity.  They charged $149.00 for the room with $17.00 to park and occupation fees, state tax ,local tax and hotel tax.  What in the world, at no point did they tell me about any of these fees.  They took $70.00 off but the desk person Shah was rude and tried talking down to me, using analogies that made no sense.  The place was clean and in a great local but the gouging fees are outrageous!

Location is worth it. Great staff. Lots to do and great places too eat. We went spur of the moment in middle of winter. The hotel was by no means full, so I asked for a discount and they offered $20 off. I noticed one yelper commented there was an $8 parking fee; the hotel will validate parking, so it's actually free. The third floor room was great for one night, not noisy at all. Happy, happy, happy!

Clean rooms and great service, we usually stay here on date nights so me and my wife can both enjoy the evening. The hotel will validate parking in the adjacent parking garage so not an issue. They have recently added a cafe, serving Starbucks coffee, and no longer offer complimentary coffee in the lobby any longer.

Stayed here overnight for a two day meeting and this is a great location in the middle of everything. The hotel is a little dated but it was clean and the service was really good.

Love the place. Only downside was construction. The staff were 5 star. Room romantic.  Little pricy but we had20% off so i thought it was a good deal. Will not repeat.
WHY---first night at 2AM we were chased into the street by a fake fire alarm.  Second night rock festival  blasted and disturbed thehotel until 11. Totally unacceptable for family or romance. So you can see first impressions snd total experience radically different!

Stayed here the night before my flight left to experience downtown Chattanooga. Check-in was very slow and I was not greeted as a Platinum member and did not receive a welcome gift.

I have stayed at Marriot 400+ nights in the past 4 years and this was actually the first time and only time I was asked to see my AAA membership card. The girl who checked me in was kinda rude - but oh well we all have bad days, she wasn't going to ruin mine.

Parking sucks here - it is a long walk and there was a lot of construction going on next to the hotel (may be done now) - It is in walking distance to everything downtown.

Bed and room was comfy, clean, and smelled fresh.

    Under $150 a night (Usually)

Been here a few times now and it is our primary choice for visits to Chattanooga.

    On the PLUS side:

    1) Great location - one block from the river and close to all the food and entertainment

    2) Rooms are clean a comfortable. Get a corner if you can. Some rooms have a view of the river.

    3) Breakfast - with a full kitchen - and Starbucks coffee in the lobby

    4) Parking is charged to your room at $8 a day with unlimited ins and outs

    5) Indoor pool for the kids

    6) Bar open at 5pm, with a comfortable lounge and seating areas inside and outside

    On the negative side -
    a) Parking in the garage next door is not accessible without going outside

    b) Parking is in the same lot used for all municipal parking. This can mean top floor or rooftop and driving around looking for a space.
