This property opened only 3.5 weeks ago, and it's absolutely beautiful! We tend to stay at many Marriott properties, and this SpringHill definitely met, if not exceeded, our expectations! The staff was World Class! From the Front Desk Representatives to the Housekeeping Associates...everyone we encountered met us with such a warm smile.  Definitely get a room with a view of the river...beautiful!  The riverfront outdoor patio has cute comfy contemporary furniture, great place for a snack or drink. Comfortable, spacious rooms. Wonderful area. Will definitely go back again soon!

We visited during the triathalon weekend and even though they were booked up, the service was great.  This hotel was modern and felt new and clean. The outdoor area was a great place to relax.  The layout of the room was great with plenty of room for our family of 5.  The room was quiet and the beds were comfortable.  The hotel is a nice 5-10 minute walk to downtown.  We would definitely stay here again.

Our stay at this hotel was unacceptable. We awoke in the morning with itchy, red welts on our legs and arms. I am not sure, but to me, that is usually what happens when you are infested with bed bugs. I went to the manager that morning at checkout, and since I arranged this stay through Travelocity, nothing could be done by the hotel. I was told that the head housekeeper would be looking at the room, and that someone would be in touch with the general manager about this. I have never heard a word from anyone since. To add insult to injury, they even incorrectly billed my credit card another $108 (for what, I don't know). When I saw this, I called and they said they would remove the charge (which they did), and when I asked about the bed bug incident, no one could tell me anything. Needless to say, I will not be using Travelocity's services (because they won't do anything either), nor will I be staying at this establishment if or when I ever decide to visit Chattanooga again. :-/

NOT ONCE did anyone at the hotel apologize for this experience. NOT ONCE did anyone at the hotel offer anything for the poor experience.

We visited for an extended vacation over July 4th weekend. This is a fairly new property, so everything was fresh, clean and new. We loved the open suites, nice and light and bright, with a modern look and feel. The staff is genuinely friendly, not scripted, and very attentive. They offer a very good breakfast buffet.

Although this hotel is a couple of blocks from the main strip, it is actually easier to get to the Aquarium and other river attractions. The walk is shaded and right along the river.

We had a balcony right on the river and although the days were up in the 100 degree range, the mornings and evenings on the balcony, with the nice breezes, were worth the few extra dollars.

This will definitely be our "regular" hotel for Chattanooga for future travel!

Stayed here over the 4th of July weekend with my husband, after reading great reviews on TripAdvisor. I am not sure if this was a one-time issue, but unfortunately things did not meet our expectations.

Pros:
The hotel is new and the furnishings are modern and give the room a light and airy feel. We booked a river front view room and our window was overlooking the river, very nice! The shower is amazing. The internet access (wireless) in the room is free. They also have free hot breakfast, an indoor pool, and a gym. The rooms also have a small fridge and a microwave.

Cons:
On our first night there, we were getting ready for bed when we noticed stains on the duvet (the comforter). These were clearly fecal and blood stains all over. We called the front desk and they sent up a maintenance guy right away who brought us fresh bedding. But seeing these stains really made me think of what else that was dirty that we couldn't see. It was absolutely disgusting and unacceptable.

The following morning we went down to for breakfast. There were a ton of people there with kids who were running around frantically. The bar was literally the length of a six foot table; a few items were visible from there like eggs and cereals. I saw one lady making her own pancakes...pouring the batter on to a griddle...what???? There were literally five tables in the lobby and no place to sit down. Some people sat on the sofas and armchairs hovering over their food, others took the food in a container or a napkin and were taking it up to eat it in their room! What kind of a breakfast buffet is this??? Clearly a free one. We turned around and drove 10 minutes to a local IHOP for breakfast instead.

While the room was comfortable, and the AC is really quiet, which I appreciated it, the design of the bathroom is impractical. The area around the sink is so narrow; I could barely my makeup bag on it. Also, the bathroom has a sliding door that doesn't have a lock on it, so if you are travelling with kids who might constantly open and close the door, keep that in mind if you are in there.

But one of the biggest issues we had was the noise coming from other rooms. The walls are paper thin. We were on the 4th floor, and there was another floor above us, and not only we can hear every single word people said, but we can also hear someone pee and flush!!!!! Gives you the impression as if the person is right there next to you. You would think that the rooms would have more sound-proof walls, because the building is new, but that's not the case here. So if you don't mind the noise, stay here, and if you don't mind the stained bed covers, stay here, otherwise, I'd find another place to spend my hard-earned money at.

Super Amazing Hotel.  My wife and 2 young kids loved our room. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and full of many choices. The Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The Hotel had a great outdoor patio area overlooking the beautiful river.  We were very close to all the tourist attractions.

Our family was in Chattanooga for my son's wedding July 2013. We needed a place to stay and wanted to offer extended family and friends from Chicago, Boston, Toronto and Scotland a block of rooms at a classy place for a reasonable price. After consulting the area hotels and their offers, SpringHill Suites in Downtown Chatt offered the nicest place for the best price.

We also needed a place to have the rehearsal dinner. Mallory Washing helped us book the block of rooms, set up a dinner in their River Room for 75 with a caterer, and took care of so many of the details. She was SUPER helpful and went out of her way to do whatever was needed, even pick up a huge sheet cake for us. The whole week was a whirlwind of activity and details that could have easily been overwhelming but our stay there was such a comfort.

We have a big Italian family. When everyone wanted to get together for drinks and to talk (yeah, we're kinda loud), the hotel had no problem with us taking over the lobby. When a nearby restaurant wouldn't take my reservation for 22 people the day after the wedding, the front desk took care of the problem and bam! we had a reservation for the whole family! The staff was wonderful. The place is super clean and decorated beautifully. It's one of the only hotels in the area right on the river, which isn't the prettiest river but the hotel has a nice patio with a fireplace. Our room fit all 5 of us which is pretty tough to do.

My husband and I honestly feel that if it wasn't for this hotel and the helpful staff, especially Mallory, the week would not have been as great as it ended up being for our family. It's hard to be away from home and pull off all that is necessary for your child's wedding and rehearsal dinner and all the details that go along with it. Thank you to the staff and especially Mallory for all your efforts to make it a special week for us. We truly appreciated it.

This was a wonderful stay! The room was clean with pleasant amenities. Joey at the front desk was extremely helpful, and even arranged a discount for our family for dinner.  The bar was fun. Help the bartender get rid of all of those crazy flavored vodkas! Pool was well heated, hot tub was clean, neither were over chlorinated, plenty of towels. Breakfast was pleasant with lots of healthy options. Do not miss the patio w view, fire pit and bags games. Will stay here again. Love that Marriott always feels like home.

Nice hotel with modern rooms.  We stayed in a suite with a balcony.  It was nice to sit out and enjoy the river view.  Breakfast is the standard fare found at most places.  It's within walking distance to the river front park and aquarium.  If you have small children you may want to park closer in one of the many public parking lots.  Overall it was a nice place to stay.

In Chattanooga for the kids spring break. We were looking for an affordable hotel with an indoor pool. We are so happy with the Springhill suites. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the pool and hot tub are great for the kids and adults, and the rooms are amazing. The rooms are big, very clean, and basically brand new.  This hotel is in walking distance to just about everything.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Chattanooga on business or pleasure.

We enjoyed our stay here and didn't encounter any of the problems previous reviewers mentioned.

The hotel was clean and beautiful, and everyone was friendly and attentive. There were a couple of minor mix-ups, but nothing worth docking a star for. These things happen, and they worked their butts off to make sure anything that was off was fixed.

I love, love love the riverfront lounge at night. The sofa with the (gas) fire pit in the middle was so nice to sit at with a drink on a mild night.

We didn't try the breakfast, so I can't speak to that, but we loved our stay overall.

This is a nice hotel by the river. However it is odd that there is a run down building in the next lot. There is not a restaurant in the hotel but there is a bar that serve some snacks. There isn't many restaurants near by unless you call 0.5-1.0 mile away is near by.

I always wonder why the front desk people often ask "what can I do for you?" when it is obvious that a person with luggage walks into the door and it is a hotel.  Anyway, I got a nice room with a view of the river and courtyard. It is nice to have a room with a view but the view is not much to look at (brown grass and brown river). Some may care about this however.

Parking will cost you $8.00 but I am told this is due to The City of Chattanooga not the hotel. I don't know if this is true but sure why not!  Where else can I park right? And finally, a hotel that provides a decent iron!!! This did it for me.

Buy a new phone system and/or answer your phone.  I've tried five times to call you tonight at 9 PM EST to make a reservation.  You have not answered three times, you answered and disconnected me once and you answered, put me on hold immediately and disconnected me fifteen seconds later.  How hard is to answer your calls during normal hours?

Great spot. It's right by the water, very close to the  aquarium, it's clean, it's modern, and it's got a very good fitness center (free weights).

The pluses: sleek spa-like suites, thoughtfully designed layout (eg, coffee not in bathroom, good desk, convenient night table outlets for charging phone), good bath product. River view. Comfy bed with generous pillows. Thorough job by housekeeping.

The minuses: paying to park (injury) AND having to walk back out to your car right after check in to put a tag on your dashboard (insult). Raggedy river shore view. Very noisy from hall and neighboring rooms, sometimes from multiple directions at once. At one point I believe the people next door to me were hosting a pack of monkeys, or perhaps it was several squabbling children. Hard to tell, but they opened and slammed their doors multiple times and I think the kids held a belching contest.
Minuscule bathroom vanity counter.

Not recommended for business travel. Probably good for families.

This has been a business stop over the years, this visit it was pleasure. Located close  to downtown, complete with a City Bike rack out front.
Great staff and great amenities, rooms were clean and modern.
There is an $8.00 charge to park, but most in city hotels do the same thing.

I used to live in Chattanooga and when I come to visit I stay here. It's a ten minute walk to downtown or North Shore and right on the riverwalk. They also have a bike rental station right on the premises.

The rooms are clean and modern. Most have a river view and a rather open floor plan.

Talk to the front desk for discounts at local restaurants. Morgan (one of bartenders) is tremendously helpful. She can point you in the direction of sights, entertainment, restaurants and bars if you are looking to get out on the town.
