Not a bad place to lay your head. It is convenient to the airport and the room was clean. It is an older hotel so some of the fixtures and carpet are showing their age a bit. But hey, the TV worked, the A/C worked and the water was hot. Bed was pretty comfy but I drug my tail in at 4:00 am so I am sure the floor would have felt nice. You could do worse, and I have, for a lot more money!

We stayed here one night as we were driving cross country.  Our room was small, but clean and comfortable, it had a fridge and a microwave.  There was free high speed wifi, and breakfast.  The breakfast is what took me by surprise.  They have two Belgan waffle irons that made waffles the shape of Texas!  They tasted even better than they looked!  They also had all the fixins for breadfast burritos - eggs, hash browns, sausage patties, salsa, cheese, jalapenos, on flour tortillas.  There was 4 kinds of fruit juice, instant oatmeal, cold cereal, bagels, blueberry muffins, and fresh oranges and bananas.  My kids each ate a huge breakfast that would have cost me $40. to $50. had I taken them to a restaurant, and it was fast and convenient.  When we checked out, we were on our way in good time.  The price was right, and the value was excellent.

The rooms were really small, the bathroom sink wasn't draining, and the kids running up and down the hallway drove me nuts! But on a brighter note, the ice machine was close to my room, they have an indoor pool, they have free breakfast with yummy waffles shaped like texas, Free WiFi, and most of all the staff was very friendly! The shuttle took us to & from the airport, as well as to & from the restaurant & mall! As long as you request it ahead of time or if they have it available!

Just arrived...1st king room was tiny...I mean tiny like the king bed filled the room with virtually no room to spare.  The staff was so sweet when we asked for a larger room which is wonderful.  And, the next room was much better in size.  Sadly, the hotel is so run down and icky...the pleasant staff just isn't enough to keep me here for the week.  Just booked a different hotel for the rest of the week.  For the same price I have found much nicer and newer accommodations. I cannot recommend this Hawthorn Inn and am very disappointed that Hawthorn/Wyndham would put their name to it.

Fairly Clean, comfortable beds, good price and close to airport.  Staff was friendly. Property was somewhat oudated, but had very nice look to it. There was water stains on the sealing right above my bed. It was raining and I feel sleep praying I would not be woken up by dripping water from the sealing. The next morning I was still dry. We cheerfully got ready for our trip, boarded their author shuttle and had a pleasant coversation with the driver on our way to airport.  All in all its a good place to stay if you have a really flight tho catch.

To be honest we never got a room. I reserved a room through the hotel website.. Lots of construction going on.. The person behind the desk was a complete ass.. He wAs rude and lazy.. Couldn't find our reservation.. I gave him our confirmation number and he said we didn't call in to secure the room.. Apparently after you reserve a room you have to call and verify that you want it.. It wasn't even past 20 min past deadline .. He continued to tell us ha had no more king rooms only double rooms.. Complete lies through every website I could still get King rooms I even called to check this time.. Management needs work.. It wAs blessing  the Wyndham suite we got was cheaper and beautiful and huge separate bedroom :) that is the only thanks they get .. Thanks for sending me to a nicer hotel ..

After reading reviews I was kicking myself for booking this hotel. But my experience went really well. I arrived at the hotel a little after midnight for a three night stay, yes the front of the hotel and lobby area are under construction and honestly that's the only affected part I saw. The guy at the lobby was very nice and accommodating trying to find me a non smoking room since I booked through priceline. The room was clean, small, and had all the essentials. There was no trash lining the hallways, rude house keepers, or loud construction. The only negative I did experience was my key card didn't work but that was taken care of quickly. It's a great hotel, right next to the fort bliss and the airport. I'd stay here again.

I'll be honest - my biggest complaint about this place was with the housekeeping staff, which is a first for me. I don't think I've ever stayed in a hotel or motel anywhere, of any size, where getting your room cleaned took SO long for such a mediocre result. I stayed here for almost a week during the Sun Bowl, and would leave the room for 3-4 hours every morning to get some coffee, only to come back to a room that had not been cleaned, even though the sign was remaining on the door. One time - fine, but this was the majority of the days.

When I called for housekeeping, a rude lady showed up at my door, walked in without saying a word, then walked out saying, "Ok, one minute." 10 minutes later, a nice older lady came to clean my room. About 40 minutes later, it was done, minus the vacuuming, which I asked her to skip because I needed to nurse my baby and wanted to do so in private.

The few times housekeeping did come to the room while I was gone, the room always smelled like cigarette smoke - no idea why, but very disappointing for a non-smoking room.

The front desk staff members were friendly, and the place is close to the airport. I definitely wouldn't stay here again with a young child. If you have a slightly-outdated hotel, the one thing you have to do is keep it clean.

What a nightmare. Yes, this hotel is under renovation, but it is unfit for guests. Trash lines the hallways, the rooms are only marginally clean, there was no telephone in our room....just a few examples of the blatant disregard for the paying patrons.

Usually, when a hotel is under serious remodel, the owners care enough about the customers to close the building until the work is finished. It is clear that is not the case at this filthy, borderline dangerous, hotel.

If you're looking for a budget friendly hotel, this hotel is not bad. It's not quite walking distance from EP airport, better to call and take their free shuttle. The first room I had was newly renovated, the second room I had was still in the process of being renovated.... The bedroom was newIy renovated, but the bathroom looked like something from the 80's. I think they are trying their best to finish reno's, but you can't really tell. I loved how the bathrooms had a heat fan on top of the ceiling, kept me warm when coming out of the shower. The doors of all the rooms seem old, definitely need to change them and the light pink colour. Other than that, wifi is strong, breakfast was better than your average chains and friendly staff.

We have never had any problems here! When we aren't at home you can find us checked in at this hotel. The staff is very nice, polite and extremely helpful. The rooms are always ready and well kept! The only complaint this time around is the strong smell of cigarettes in the hallway although all the rooms are clearly marked nonsmoking, but I guess some people just can't read our simply have no respect for others.
