we called in advance cause my husband and i were going to be doing a 13 hour drive through the desert.... we wanted to make sure that even though we were arriving late (around 4:30AM) that we would still have our room once we arrived and a late checkout the next day.
Once we arrived the guy at the counter told me we didn't have a reservation. and that we never called... being absolutely EXHAUSTED... this did not help my increasingly waning mood.  He spent 20 minutes tippity typing on the computer, and telling me that we were a "no-show", and that they don't have late checkouts. FOR REAL?!! Anyway... eventually we got our room... but after the day we had, we did NOT want to deal with douche bag mcgee at the front desk. Room was ok. Service... blah.

ADDENDUM:  WE DID A SURVEY ABOUT OUR STAY, AND BECAUSE OF OUR RATING, THE GENERAL MANAGER REVIEWED THE TAPE OF OUR CHECK-IN, AND ISSUED US A COMPLETE REFUND FOR OUR TROUBLE... CAN YOU BELIEVE IT??? AMAZING!!

Looks can be deceiving but in this case they're right on. I might stay here again but it's not one of my favorite stops along the way. I especially didn't enjoy the dumpster pickup at 7 am. You can see Juarez, Mexico, murder capital of the world, from the southern rooms. It will probably make you not want to spend much time on the outside of your room, though I didn't feel particularly unsafe. The room was a half step above a Motel 6.  The 20% discount at Denny's next door was nice. That's a noticeable discount. Lots of shopping nearby (by car). Lobby seemed nice.

Doesn't deserve a star! Was given a smoking room after I requested a nonsmoking room and after walking into the room, being surrounded the smell of smoke, seeing cigarettes in the ash tray and the nasty filth all over the room I returned to the front desk. When I walked in to the front desk and said "Yeah, that room won't work. I need a nonsmoking room or I can go somewhere else." I was told that if I didn't leave that the cops would be called and I would be removed and still charged for the room.
If you want to be lied to, stolen from per say, sleep in filth, then this place is for you. Other than that.....stay away from here!

We had just driven 14 hours from Los Angeles and checked in at 9:30 and went straight to our room. As we opened the door, the air conditioner was on, but the room was hot and stuffy.  We figured it may have just been turned on recently, so we gave it some time.  It never cooled down.  We called the front desk and they said they would send maintenance up to check.  We waited an hour and nobody came.  Called again to ask when maintenance was coming and they said "Oh, he just went home for the day."  We requested another room, but because there was a music fest in town, they were entirely booked, but tried to offer us a $10 discount.
We tried to tough it out and sleep in the room.  About 3:30 in the morning we awoke to several 20-somethings outside talking/laughing loudly outside our room.  This went on for at least half an hour until we couldn't take it anymore and my wife got up to ask them to keep it down.  At this point we were wide awake and decided to leave less than 7 hours after check in.

I don't know if this is a common occurrence at this place or not, but we will never go back.  They did refund our money for the night though.  I suppose that's something at least.  They should have only booked the music fest people on one side of the building and left the other side for reservations and walk ins.  I feel sorry for anyone who was actually trying to sleep in the hotel that night.

We had no intentions of staying here, but we got stranded in El Paso when the car rental place had no cars (!?). We called to get a shuttle from the airport and it came quickly.  The people checking us in were very friendly.  Especially Clint, who helped me deal with Expedia to cancel the other reservation we couldn't get to.

If only the quality of the room matched the quality of the people here.  The room itself was nothing special but was clean.  The sheets were fresh and the bed was comfy.  We were pretty happy until we saw the bathroom.  The bathroom could have used some bleach and I'm not sure how, but there were black scuff marks on the side of the tub.  Overall, it was a fair experience.  I'd be willing to give it another try because the staff was so great.

It's the preferred hotel closest to the east Juarez boarder Toll entrance, it's nice & the employees are very hospitable.
3rd time I've stayed here for several nights and each time resulted in a good nights rest in a none smoking room.

Cons: Although I've always booked a smoke free room. They some how manage to put me twice in a room that has a slight hint of cigaret smell lingering all over the room.

Pros: After I kindly discussed the discomfort issue with the front desk, they kindly moved me away from the smoking side, to a completely none smelly room. Without any hassle what so ever.

Pros: I noticed they allow pets to stay at the hotel as well. I saw several people with dogs. Good to know!

Pros: They have a nice size pool to do back and forth laps in.

Pros:  They have a small Gym room with several treadmills, Bike, elliptical, etc...

Pros:  They have free breakfast. It's so worth it!

On my last trip I forgot my $80 memory foam pillow and didn't notice until the next day. I called 2 days later and they said they will check the lost and found & with the maids and call me back.

Pros:  They found my pillow and the manager mailed it back to me, free of charge!  (I live in San Diego)

I'll most likely use this place for every business trip I take. And refer friends too.

Room 147 mold smell could choke a cow!
Woke up with a headache I got to believe from it.  This is an old road side motel they slapped a coat of paint on.  Stay far away!

Was happy to hear about the price. Not happy with two full size beds instead of two queen beds. It's hard when you are coming in from out of town at midnight and you, your spouse, and your baby are tired. Not the best of feeling to open the door and see these beds. Plus,  I did not know that smoking hotels still existed. Then dead bolt did not work either. Im the kind of person who needs to make sure all locks work. Specially when the rooms have an outside door, and it looks like some kicked open the door or something. I always thought La Quinta were nice, but i guess theybare nolonger what they use to be. Other than that the employees were nice and th e rooms were clean. Thanks but no thanks

The have a roach problem the manger was rude. Charged my credit card many mistakenly times. I tried to talk with the manger about  it he refused to give me what was owed to me. I had to call The corporate office. To get things settled. Would never stay again west side is a better stay. I wouldn't give one star I had to, in order to post the review. I hope they see this review and change things.

Noisy!!  I can hear the neighbors talking.
Airplanes sound like they are landing in parking lot.
Bathroom has mold and sheet rock is chipping off wall. UCK!!
For $75 I could have found a much nicer place.  I booked through booking.com . No cancellations. Bad mistake on my part.

The only real negative I had about this hotel was the location was pretty scary- Not far from Juarez. However with that said, the staff was great, the room was nice and the breakfast was one of the better ones we enjoyed on an 8 day trip.
