Not a bad hotel for the price (I got it for $75 a night, ask for the Simuflite rate) but there was room for improvement. The hotel was modern and clean, and the free laundry was great. I stayed for 15 days, and didn't see one kid, thank god. Most of the people staying there are American Airlines employees, so there isn't a lot of noise from your hotel neighbors. But, there is lots of airplane noise from the airplanes coming and going from DFW, and the walls and windows are paper thin. During my stay, I learned how to tell the difference between and MD-80 and a 747, just from the sound! Also, the van service was always 10-15 min late picking up at the hotel. I found out that is because they stop at the Holiday Inn next door first, but it is still a bit annoying. The maid only comes once a week if you are there for an extended period of time, so use those towels sparingly! The pillows were way too soft, and there was a sign on the bed saying if I wanted different pillows, the front desk has whatever I want. I went there and asked for firmer pillows, but the only had more of the same that was already in my room.

I stayed at the Candlewood because it was close to the airport and a friends apartment. I looked online at pricing prior to check in and even called ahead to see if I needed to book online to get the $89 rate. I was assured I didn't need an online reservation and the rate would be honored when I arrived. I only hesitated in the reservation do to travel timing and unsure arrival times.
As I approached the desk I was barely greeted. I was told the hotel rate would be $120/night and if I wanted the $89 rate I would have to book it online using MY PHONE! The staff then went back to their personal conversation in Spanish (I'm from the south, I speak Spanish also, you're not fooling me by speaking another language with your sarcastic remarks, okay).
After making the reservation on my phone, it was still too difficult to speak English to me, the customer, or get bill correct. I left feeling sorry I decided to still stay with such disrespect from the staff. I was after all funding their job by my purchase. I received for welcome information such as where to locate the elevator, our room, the business center, ect...
Service is half the battle in the Hotel Industry so that really turned me off to a good review. Aside from the bad service... the rooms were large, modern, clean, and comfortable. Two burner stove, microwave, full size fridge, hot shower, flat screen tv, and plenty of accessible outlets.
Also, a point to note, we NEVER found the ice vending.

Not terribly impressed.
- the a/c was going full blast when i arrived. I turned the thermostat off because a sign on the unit said it was tstat-controlled (see pic). I shivered for hours until i lost patience and found that the dang thing was NOT on the tstat.
- desk told me the airport shuttle was every 15 min but it was every 30.
- weird toothpaste tube sized ruts under the carpet in hallway.
- no remote for gym tv.
- tried to call the front and maint about 10x; phone always rang busy. Gave up and went down
- wifi stopped working in the eve, still broken in the am, on phone and laptop.
- comfy bed.
- good size suite.

I stayed here for one night. I'll be reviewing based on the short time I stayed here. The lobby looks modern and clean. The front desk was helpful and friendly. They do provide free shuttle services from and the to the airport. The shuttle took a while to get to the airport, so I recommend calling them before getting your luggage. They also provide free shuttle services to other places such as the American Airline Training Center, but call them to confirm if they can provide shuttle services to your desired destination.
The room I stayed in was clean and neat. You can hear people walking and closing the doors but they weren't loud enough to bother me. They also have free WIFI but it was a bit unstable. They have a small convenience store across from the front desk with frozen food, hot pockets, snacks, and few toiletry. You can drop off a charge list to charge the items onto your room or pay cash right away. There are also restaurants, fast food joints (McDonalds), and Starbucks down the street that are within walking distance.
