Great remodeling recently done. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. Staff was friendly and was knowledgeable about the area. The rooms were very clean, spacious, and free internet! Lots of complementary toiletries, plus a nice selection of items downstairs just in case you forgot something. Very nice lounge area and wide variety of items for breakfast. Rooms had new coffeemakers and fridges.

My first stay at Holiday Inn Express, my flight arrived at 5:00 a.m. the staff was really wonderful about getting us into a room early.  I was here for a training and stayed for three nights all were pleasant.  Nicely appointed rooms and common areas.

I stayed here for 3 nights after staying 1 night at the Embassy Suites in downtown. This hotel is a lot cheaper than Embassy, but still pricey considering it is not city center. The staff was friendly and the hotel was well kept. If the hotel was a little cheaper I would recommend staying here, but if you have the money I'd say you are better off staying more in the downtown area where you can walk to all the shops and restaurants.

I stayed there for 7 days last February. The hotel is OK, my room was clean, spacious and well equipped (microwave, freezer, large HD screen, coffee / tea machine, hair drier, etc.).

The check in didn't take too much time, and check out was extremely fast, as I just had to sign the invoice that was dropped in my room the morning I left. This hotel has a 24/7 fitness room with running and biking machine, and a small swimming pool with a spa.

Breakfast and Internet connection are complimentary and both of good quality.

The only "cons" is that the hotel is quite far from Fort Worth Downtown (30minutes to go by foot) which can be annoying if you don't have a car.

In a few words, not excellent, but not bad at all either.

Clean, modern and a free breakfast... not much to complain about here. Stayed at the hotel for a quick weekend getaway from Austin and was pleasantly surprised. Centrally located, basic but nice gym and a clean pool/spa.

My wife and I spent the night here while visiting Fort Worth for the weekend.  We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel.  It looks like Holiday Inn is really updating their appearance.  The lobby was very nice, they offer a free hot and cold breakfast and they also have free wi-fi.

The room we stayed in was a King Suite and it was very spacious, it had a king size bed, sitting area with a sofa bed, desk and a large LCD TV.

This hotel also has an indoor pool and fitness center, although we did not use those facilities.  Overall this is a very nice hotel and I would stay there again.

FYI:  The beds are very hard.

As far as HIE properties go, I've definitely experienced better.

The parking situation was tight - there isn't much to start with, and if you get back to the hotel late, you are likely to miss out on getting a spot.

The elevators are very slow. There are two elevators, but during checkout, they were constantly filled with house keeping carts, towels carts, maintenance carts, etc. I waited over 10 minutes to get an elevator on one trip up to our room.

The shower water had a distinct "fish tank" odor coming from our shower water. I don't know what else to call it....algae maybe? But it was stank! And then there was the fact that the shower curtain didn't contain the water. It was literally pouring out onto the floor no matter how we positioned the curtain.

The breakfast area was extremely busy. In general, it was just a busy, overworked property.

They didn't do any of the "little" touches that I expect from a thoughtful HIE (which we have stayed at many that do these things).

I was only here one night while visiting FtWorth but it's worth reviewing simply because tehy accomodated four of us in one room. Ok, so maybe they didnt realize tehre WERE four of us...but the fact that we could all fit in a regular room was pretty neato. Two on the giant bed, and two on teh queen mattress we blew up and put on the floor. I'm sure we violated soem fire code since couches and such we wedged every which way elsewhere, but we all got a good nights sleep.

Props to covered parking, overall cleanliness, and a free hot breakfast. The coffee was good, and they had eggs, breakfast meats, and fruit for us non-cereal/oatmeal/pastry paleo freaks.

The highlight of this experience was hearing Pitbulls' "Hotel Room Service" on the way home and signing along, "Ho-tel, Mo-tel, Holiday nn (EXPRESS!)"

I travel to a lot of small towns so I frequent the Holiday Inn brand.   I am starting to see where most of the HI Express hotels are nicer and newer then the Holiday Inn's.  This hotel is no exception.  The lobby had great decor, great breakfast and business areas and a store.  The rooms were very nice and the beds were comfy.  The location was also great for all the places we wanted to visit in the area.

Not impressed with the staff.  I know friendly customer service isn't that hard and they need to work on it.  The elevators were INCREDIBLY slow and twice we had staff take over an elevator in front of us, instead of letting us have it first.  I guess they don't have a service elevator?  The walls in the rooms are very thin so any outside noise is super loud.  I'm glad we had to be up early because I would not have been able to sleep late due to the screaming kid next door.  Parking was also tricky.  We got back to the hotel at 12-1am and there was only one spot left.

Overall the good and bad aspects made me feel like this place was just a "maybe" if I was thinking of places to stay in Ft. Worth.

I had reservations about staying here as I really one choose it because of the low cost. I can say I was impressed in almost every way!  Extremely friendly staff that genuinely seemed to want to help. The room was nice and the only issue was that the ac and the bathroom fan are loud, but really if that is the only issue, it is a win.

The free shuttle is what set this over the top. Super friendly and helpful in every way. Went well beyond the normal service level I have been accustomed to.

Free and ample parking is a nice bonus as well!

It wouldn't be my first pick, but since I was in town just for the night, the rate, proximity to my work event, and great reviews were enough to allow me to book it on Hotels.com .

Parking is free (and some of it is covered), they have fitness room, a very small indoor pool, complimentary breakfast ... and the rooms are equipped with a mini fridge, blowdryer. The few things I didn't like about the place was the seriously bad lighting (even for hotel standards) and the loud fans in the restrooms; there wasn't a separate switch in the RR, so as I did my makeup, the LOUD fan irritated the hell out of me.

Good location, friendly people, good price. We ended up checking out one night early and they did not charge us for the extra night. Location is convenient and the hotel it's self is nice, could use some more parking and faster elevators, but no big deal. Beds are a little hard but good view of downtown Fort Worth. I would recommend it.

This is an atrocious hotel. Awful staff, paper thin walls, expired food at the breakfast, double charge on my card for the room. A nightmare.

If I could give them 3.5 stars I would,,this was a nice hotel, very clean but a little outdated for the price.Service was okay, nothing to brag about.I was told I would have to park across the street and on the second floor of the garage because they were busy.Fortunately I listened to my wife and checked their lot and found plenty of convenient parking available. We were happy with our valentine stay and it was very convenient to Embargo where we partied that night. But the rooms were the same price as our luxury hotel on the riverwalk in San Antonio,,and in Ft Worth our view was off the rooftop ac units and the freeway..

Here on a business trip. This place could be better. The AC is a wet/cold experience. I think you know what I mean when I say wet/cold. It's cold but with humidity. Just horrible. The internet is no better (198 Kilobytes per second download) but then again I shouldn't complain because it's free. The parking is free but it's not really secure. Close to the highway so it's easy for a smash and grab.

The price is a bit high for what it gives.

Loved this place. It's not the cheapest, but the location is awesome. On top of that, you have a nice, big, clean room with luxurious amenities. The tv has double the channels as your average hotel. The sheets are clean, the pillows are comfy, and the bathroom will exceed your expectations. On top of all that, the view is fabulous!

This location is different from the typical Holiday Inn Express buildings that we've all seen scattered at various points along a freeway. It's an older building, which looks like it was originally a different hotel. It's also right next to a gas station, the properties almost seem connected.

    *Friendly staff
    *Good free breakfast
*Clean & comfortable bed & towels
    *Granite countertops in bathroom
    *In-room movies available

    *Small bathroom
*Not a very good shower head - two settings, either stinging water or a stream like a hose
*Difficult & limited parking (apparently this is currently being renovated)

I would stay at this location again, and I look forward to seeing the parking situation improve

I didn't stay here but my friend and her family did.  They really liked the hotel. The lobby is very nice and updated. Very trendy.  There room was the same. It also had a fridge to keep some food.

One thing I was able to experience was they backed some cookies!  They really hit the spot after a long morning of shopping!

Great location and their shuttle will take you to the stockyard.  Or anywhere within one mile.  Parking was sparse but it didn't seem to bother the guest.

Expensive good location. Returning after 10 years very disappointing room dingy lacking care and attention. Bar staff rude and unhelpful. Reception compensated, but still left a poor impression at the end of two amazing weeks traveling the USA. Will not be using the Hilton again.

Reasonably-priced accommodations in the heart of a city like Fort Worth are not easy to come by, especially if you neglect to make reservations until time is short.

The hotel is undergoing a major renovation that includes a total interior/exterior makeover and adding floors with new rooms.  The interior of my room and the existing public areas looks to be complete and is modern and stylish.  One area that did not receive an upgrade was the elevators, which were a bit slow.  Maybe when the new floors are put in, new elevators will be put in also.

My room AC was noisy but very powerful.  It was a mild summer day so I was able to turn off the AC at night and still remain comfortable.

The hot breakfast was simple but enough for me.  Eggs and bacon.  Cold cereal, yogurt, fresh fruits and juices were also available.

The desk staff were friendly, helpful and approachable.  The hotel has a free shuttle service that will shuttle to any locatoin within 3 miles of the hotel, which includes sightseeing locations like the Stockyard.

All in all, I enjoyed a pleasant stay and would stay here again if travelling through this area in the future.

As of 10/11/13, the renovation is almost complete.  The scaffolding is off the exterior and floors basement through 4 are complete.  The only things left are the 5th floor and the parking garage.

    The rooms:

I had a room with two queen beds.  It was nice, newly renovated, and comfortable but on the small size as it was not an accessible room.  It had all the HIE mainstays (the pillows, Bath and Body Works toiletries, etc).  Like most hotels, the walls are pretty thin, but the AC fan covers most of it without being too obnoxious.

Oh, and there was adequate internet!  The speed was adequate at 4:00pm and at 9:00pm.  No issues!

    The grounds:

I enjoyed the fitness room.  It has two treadmills, two ellipticals, an exercise bike and weights.  However, the Cardio Theaters on the treadmills didn't work.  They worked on the ellipticals though.  There is one large television in there.  One night, some thoughtless idiot turned on THE O'REILY FACTOR.  I had to suffer through that for 30 minutes, until she finally left.  There should really be a posted rule about not turning on inflammatory television programs in the fitness room on the big tv.

The lobby was nice (see photos) and filled with the smell of Otis Spunkmeyer cookies every afternoon.

However, parking in the overflow lot across the street wasn't convenient.  I wasn't fond of jay-walking across Lancaster in the mornings.

Everyone I encountered was extremely friendly and helpful, from check in to check out.  They acknowledged my high IHG status and told me about a point promotion I wasn't aware of.

All in all, I will stay here again next time I'm in Fort Worth.

    1. Within a mile of city centre downtown and other hip walkable areas
    2. Free self parking
    3. Good water pressure in shower
    4. Sufficient heat for shower
    5. Good AC
    6. Comfortable bed and pillows
    7. Shuttle service to and from locations within 3 miles (didn't use it though so can't say much to its dependability)
    8. Bath and body works products (shampoo, conditioner, and lotion)
    9. Responsive to fixing toilet
    10. Provided extra lotion at front desk
    11. Spacious room with seating area
    12. Right next to gas station and highway
    13. Free breakfast ( haven't tried it though)
    14. Fridge and microwave in room.
    15. Free internet

    1. Low water pressure for sink
    2. Cleanliness is a 3 out of 5. Unpleasant to see hairs in sink and shower when first got here.
    3. While parking is free, there isn't much space and it is tight. Thankfully, I have a compact car.
    4. Shower head hurts! Only two options and they both suck.
    5. Channel selection on TV is limited. For example, only one hbo.
    6. TV says HD but doesn't look HD
    7. While you're downtown, no views from hotel to make you feel you are downtown. It doesn't feel like you're in a downtown hotel
    8. No toothpaste provided.

I checked into the Hotel for a five day trade show in the area.  The room was not available at the time so I left my luggage with the front desk.  Upon my return that evening I find out the Hotel gave my luggage to another guest leaving the country.
Initially I was told it was given to a group of international travelers from Panama and they were trying to get a hold of them and left messages but there was a language barrier.  Over one month later, I am told they made every attempt to contact the guests but the international number they have on record is not a correct number. And now they report the guests were flying to Portugal and could not understand how the luggage could have made it to Brazil...
The Ft. Worth Hotel has done everything to try to sweep this under the rug. They were unresponsive to my emails and calls to where I was forced to call the corporate office. The corporate office was little or no help as they would only place me on hold to call the Ft. Worth location to prompt some response from the Hotel.  It took 4 weeks for a response from the Hotel with their nominal attempt to resolve the situation.  The resolution was minimal and unsatisfactory.
My suggestion if you are ever in this situation with this Location is do not leave the premises until your situation is resolved to your satisfaction.

Stayed at this venue for IALHA Nationals as a judge.  Staff Manager Lauren was one of the best, and I see minimum 2 hotels/month. She was polite with us and with OSU football team who had just taken a whuppin-challenging.
Room was big enough.  Bath was totally stocked, and, new towels, etc.
Bed was very comfortable, even covers smelled and appeared clean.
Breakfast was OK.  Since we had to be at Will Rogers early, and many show staff & participants stay here, maybe start 1/2 hour earlier, so there is not such a scramble.
Travel by shuttle was OK, but unfortunately, without a car, you are married to the shuttle, since there is really nothing within walking distance.
    Still---four stars----------------
