Clean, affordable, good breakfast, and a fast free internet connection are the strong points. Plenty of parking. The only negative is the pool, which is behind the building and you have to walk through an alley to get to it.  Doesn't seem to safe. It would be nice if the pool had a higher fence and access to the building without the alley.

This place was actually really decent given the price. I stayed here once when I was still living in California and came down to Houston to check out schools. Overall, it was decently clean and comfortable. The staff was also pretty helpful. We had some problems with our rooms, so the front desk immediately went out of their way to help us out. The breakfast was pretty good too. Overall, a nice place to stay if you're a little tight on money.

I travel often for business purposes. This was a VERY NICE hotel! I enjoyed my stay for multiple reasons:
1) The room was very clean and spacious! The furniture and amenities appeared new
2) The staff was welcoming
3) The pool and gym were clean- and not crowded (which was a perk!)
4) The hotel seemed newly remodeled and it was located conveniently near the freeway!

This is a really clean hotel.  Clean gym.  Clean kitchen.  Business center serves its purpose, getting you checked into your airlines.  Well worth the money.  It's winter, so we didn't check out the pool.  As I approached the hotel the first time, I was unimpressed with the neighborhood and wondered if we were going to regret our reservation.  Most reservations are made sight unseen.  I was worried when we checked in (Wednesday at 2 pm) why we were the only car in the parking lot.  Both red flags.  But we checked in a couple hours earlier than usual.  Traffic picked up as the day went on.  We had no incidents with the surrounding neighborhood.  The staff was great throughout our stay.  Rooms were well kept.  Amenities were in good condition.  Book a room here and give yourself 10 minutes from the parking lot to your room before you finalize your first impression.  It's worth the effort.

A couple minor issues with our room.  There was gum on the inside of the peephole when we first entered that apparently housecleaning missed.  Also, the shower hot water was not consistent.  Due to our schedule, we showered once at 2 am and another day at 6 am.  The water temperature was great at 2 am.  Not so great at 6 am.  Probably too much demand on the boiler at that time of day.  Would've liked it hotter.

Breakfast was on par with what you expect from Choice and was better than the last Choice hotel we stayed at a couple months earlier in Anaheim.  Something has to be done about the entrance to the hotel property.  We did a couple loops around the block before figuring out how to get in there the first time.  Not much you can do, sharing the entrance to the parking lot with Mambo's, Church's, and the gas station.  One night the drive through lane at Church's was long and blocking the driveway.  We tried to go around cars and they tightened up thinking we were taking cuts.  We had to wait about 10 minutes for the drive thru lane to clear and allow us to enter the hotel parking lot.  Semi's parking in the hotel lot right up to their gate didn' t help the situation any.  We don't visit Houston but a couple times a decade.  But when we return, I would consider this hotel again if not staying with family first.  Good hotel.  Probably suffers collateral damage from the neighborhood it's in.
