I feel the Courtyard expert now that I've been in three different ones in the past week.

    PROS
    * Nice sink area and decent lighting

    * Incredibly nice staff - I got in about 1pm, and since there is no place to walk to get food they offered to make me a sandwich. I didn't take them up on it, but I thought that was really nice!

    * Bed was pretty comfortable, and I like the pillows

    * Big flat screen TV

    * Unlike most Courtyards these days that have the Bistro thing, this place has "real" food with a breakfast bar and real dinner options. It's like how Courtyard used to be before they went all Motel 6.

    * Wake up call was on time

    * Free shuttle picked me up from the rental car place and took me to the hotel

    CONS
    * Room needs a lot of work - ripped up carpet, old blinds, etc.

    * Room was clean (at least looked it), but the toilet was not. There were hairs stuck on the toilet set, which is really nasty. It reminded me to wear socks while walking around the room.

    * Every time the air conditioning went on the door to the room sounded like someone was trying to break in (both noisy and a little scary)

    * Ice machine was broken on my floor - not a big deal, but no one warned me

    * $2.50 cents for off brand, Dallas municipal source water. At least the other Courtyards had a name I recognized for that price.

    * I'm a Marriott Gold member, and they didn't honor that - got the ugliest room facing the parking lot in the middle of the one floor with no ice, no complimentary breakfast, etc.

    * Horrible Internet - no wireless, and I only got half a signal which was super slow. Glad I brought my Verizon card.

    * One of the 2 phones in the room was broken.

I would stay here again if I needed a place to stay before a flight because it was cheap ($119), and I got my rewards points. I can't give a place more than 3 stars when I find hairs on the toilet, sorry.

I just spent a few days here and enjoyed my stay. The staff was so friendly and nice at the front desk and in the restaurant. The lobby has a dispenser of water with fresh lemons for you to sip on as you brave the humid Houston weather. The rooms were clean and roomy. We got a first floor king room with a sleeper sofa and courtyard view. I opened up the sliding glass door and my son had a ball playing in the courtyard right outside my room. Free internet is in the room but you have to hard wire up, as the wi-fi doesn't work in the rooms and the TV's are outdated. The small fridge and microwave make up for the outdated TV's. One morning on the way to breakfast, I told the cleaning lady that she could clean our room and by the time we got back from breakfast, the room was clean and ready for the day. I accidentally forgot to bring a toothbrush for my son, so I got a complimentary toothbrush at the front desk before we retired for the night.

I had the breakfast included in my room price for $10 more for two adults and two kids, and that is a deal if more than one person is eating breakfast (regular price is $10.95). They have made to order eggs and omelets but you have to ask for it. It would be nice if they had complimentary cookies or something for guests to snack on in the early evening.

There isn't anything but a Taco Cabana within walking distance since this hotel is right on the access road. Parking is free, well secured and gated. You have to use your room key to get in. So, although this hotel is sort of in the industrial hood, I never felt that my safety was compromised. I would definitely stay here again.

It was a nice room and I appreciate the free WiFi but the front desk staff weren't as nice as they could've been. I was supposed to get a free breakfast that was included in the rate I paid for, but they didn't believe me. I know it's only $10 but c'mon man, that place looked empty.

I'd give the place another 1/2 star for the complimentary airport shuttle. But since I'm still kinda bitter about not getting the free breakfast, so the 2 star rating will do.

Two huge cockroaches in my room - called desk and frantically gathered my belongings - maintenance man started swatting at one with his shoe as i pleaded he wait until i get out - he did not stop and one flew in to the pillows of one bed .. awful terrible .. he said they've had them for 25 years ... got a different room and offered a free drink - i don't drink, still waiting on Marriott corporate to talk to me otherwise I refuse to stay at their properties and will share my input with everyone i know .. bugs = maybe expected to see one but huge cockroaches = unacceptable!!!

I would give them less than 1 star but it made me choose one.

The points for my two night stay have not been added to my account even though I checked with the desk and they did not have my account info even though I am registered. I went to my room (prior to finding cockroaches) and called the desk with my rewards number and they got it) yet my points still say ZERO................geeze I am going to be traveling A LOT ..where is the nearest Holiday Inn Express?

On a bright note the convention staff was so very helpful.

I really enjoyed my stay here and the staff is very friendly! The breakfast is served to you restaurant style instead of the usual continental breakfast. I think this makes better interaction with the staff from the guest /consumer perspective and vice verse,

This hotel is in a neighborhood that is a little rough, but they have done a pretty good job with fencing and gates, so I feel very secure here.  You don't see the rough parts until you are out driving around. The breakfast area and food are good and the price isn't bad. I'll probably stay here again since it's convenient for my work.

This is a very nicely remodeled Courtyard Marriott. Lobby and restaurant are modern, clean, and comfortable. Rooms are nicely updated with 2 power outlets at the desk, one on each side of the bed. LCD TV with lots of channels, fast WiFi. Comfortable bed.

Traffic noise is pretty crazy, and the air conditioner sounds like a washing machine when it kicks on.

Would not stay here unless you have a vehicle to go find food in a safer neighborhood. This place is kind of a compound -- you're fine if you stay inside the iron fence... but don't venture out without an armed guard.

A great choice for a hotel near the airport. This place was very clean, well kept, and had friendly staff. All customer service people at the front desk we interacted with were great--especially Francis. The housekeeping ladies were very nice as well. If my husband and I ever need another hotel in this area, we would definitely return without hesitation.

Great value!! Wonderful helpful staff, great lobby with relaxing modern atmosphere, free wi-fi, great breakfast and dinner cafe, pool/hot tub and free shuttle within 3 miles. Ask them to take you to Pappas Bar-B-Q and Ninfa's Mexican Restaurant. Both have great food and friendly service. The staff here at the Courtyard went over and above to make sure our stay was great.

This place has roaches. This is the 2nd time they have been spotted by our company. We will no longer be staying here.  Bad area also if you don't have a car.

We needed a place to stay near the airport after our return from a cruise out of Galveston.* We Pricelined it and ended up here at the Courtyard.

For $71 total (including taxes/fees) I really cannot complain. That said, you need to know what you're getting here:

    - Nice room, some have small balconies. Nicely decorated, good TV, comfy linens, great water pressure in the shower. Paul Mitchell shampoo/conditioner -- ooh la la.

    - Friendly staff who were very pleasant and helpful.

    - Free airport shuttle runs 24 hours and it's five minutes, door to door. (Our flight attendant was staying here so we knew it was probably a good sign.)

    - Cafe and loungey area in lobby, free wifi, small fitness room, great hot tub, nice looking pool and courtyard area.

    BUT....

there is nothing around here. It's light industrial and a highway. There is a Taco Cabana you could walk to and that is IT. So if you're sans car, your options are:

    - run across the highway to the nearest strip mall (do not recommend)
    - go to Taco Cabana (not so sure about this)
    - eat at the lobby cafe (overpriced, but probably fine -- sandwiches, flatbread, salads, etc)
    - order delivery (options seem to be Chinese or pizza -- we had Papa John's. The front desk has phone numbers and menus.)
    - call a cab

I wouldn't pay much more to stay here, but I would stay here again if the need arose.

*The reason we needed a place to stay overnight? MUCH cheaper for us to fly out ass-early on Monday than on Sunday -- even adding in the hotel cost.

Better than expected hotel, near the airport and cheaper than any of the other Marriotts around there.

I asked for a quiet room and the put me facing the courtyard.

I drove to the gas station to get some Shiners and had a guac and humus app at the little restaurant in the lobby. I was going to walk to the taco restaurant next door, but the reviews on Yelp scared me away.

    3.5 stars.

Typical Courtyard just off the Hobby airport, right next to the full service Marriott.  Kinda sketchy neighborhood.

The neighborhood around Hobby Airport looks like Mos Eisley. There are several strip clubs nearby, and the Courtyard property itself is surrounded by a high fence with a vehicle gate. So my wife and I were a little nervous checking in after dark. Fortunately, the hotel proved to be a cozy oasis that insulated us from the demilitarized zone just outside the perimeter.

The lobby is clean and bright, and it features all the standard Courtyard amenities such as a bar/cafe and a pantry-style store. The room was not terribly large, but it was clean and comfortable. We could see the pool and hot tub from our window, and they both looked nice.

Nice hotel. On the feeder road off the IH45.

Clean hotel. Cafe downstairs that serves Starbucks Coffee. Business center. Mini-mart where you can buy redbulls, kellogs breakfast bars or a quart of milk. RECYCLING bins, paper or plastic (yesssss #winning).

Spending 2 nights here, I can honestly say it was a pleasurable experience. The bed was quite plush & comfortable. The thermostat on the wall allows you to find your comfort level. The walls are paper thin, since at 9p, the front desk called to say "keep the noise level down" (ummmmmm im from the NOLABABY we never turn down).

The parking lot was ample, but there was only one way in & the same way out.

I love the Marriott chain hotels because you always know what to expect.

Would've gotten 4 stars, less the "quiet down" call from the front desk; 9p 2 ladies can't keep up that much noise, I mean really.  Hellllllllllllllo better insulation is the answer!!!!

The rooms are nice for an airport hotel. Paint is in perfect order; nice wall art. Good looking sofa. Not-corny drapes. I don't mind that the rooms are small. I would have given 4 stars, but I am beyond annoyed that they don't offer room service. I never use room service, and the one time I'd like to, the hotel doesn't offer it. The hell?! The most rinky dink hotels offer room service! And I needed to break my damn 20 tipping whomever brought room service so I can tip the shuttle driver and maid. Damn damn damn. So, I officially hate Courtyard Marriott now.

Your typical courtyard. Nice rooms and comfy beds I really like the lobby/lounge and the ability to get work done outside of the room.

Breakfast options are limited but decent.

Much better option than places around my work around Pasadena.
