Good hotel for the money.  Awesome fitness center and loved the fluffy, oversized bath towels. Close to Hobby airport but didn't hear any planes. Only downside is that the area is sketchy at night. Decided to drive downtown for dinner due to lack of decent restaurantsin the area.

The staff is friendly especially Charlie Wells at the Sundance Bar.  However, I guess they really do not check all of their rooms for maintenance problems.  We had a suite.  The temperature in the room was 75 degrees.  I dropped the thermometer down to 50 degrees and it did not cool off the room.  It was cooler in the hall way than in the room.

My wife and I spent a weekend at this hotel and we had a great stay. The room was spacious and very clean, the staff were very helpful, and the shuttle service was fantastic. Some people have complained about plane noise but that was quite muted and didn't bother us in the least. We ordered room service one night and the food was great and arrived quickly. I'd definitely stay here on my next trip into Houston.

Nice friendly staff, nice lobby but outdated guest rooms. The  Sundance lounge is a great place to relax w/a drink. Not the nicest Hilton but a very comfortable one.

One star for the surly bartender and $5.00 beer.

Spacious rooms compared to the 'new skimpy' of modern hotel designs that are more like a Japanese closet. Great when you've been delayed at the airport for 10 hours only to have cancelled flight...and have a 4-year-old. Courteous staff and priceless shuttle. Clean. A/C worked well. Comfy beds and pillows.  Wifi costs; not free as noted. Also, this hotel is very much open; not closed as in the listing.

Old and outdated, this Hilton also counts poor customer service among its many unflattering attributes. Anytime you have to change rooms three times, it's not going to be a positive experience. I went from a room across from the elevator and ice machine to one that was actively being renovated to one with wires hanging out of the wall. At some point, I also had a nice middle-aged couple try to access my room because someone from the front desk apparently forgot to mark it as occupied in the computer. As for room service, it took more than eight rings for someone to answer and it ended up being the operator who then had to redirect me to the restaurant. On the plus side, there's a lovely view of the airport -- if you're into that sort of thing.

3 Stars for it being a pretty standard Hilton Property, IMO Hilton properties are starting to become pretty outdated. Still overall a good experience, and always look forward to those warm chocolate chip cookies!

The place is great. very close to the airport. Got a nice room on the Hilton Honors floor. Got a free coupon for a breakfast buffet. The breakfast was actually pretty good. Cooked to order. Nice place over all.

    Would go back.

This is an old hotel they have tried to polish with a few contemporary decorations. My first impression was that I smelled mold. The mold smell continued into my room. The staff were nice, beds were comfy, but being allergic to down, I had to order foam pillows, but they did not have a down-alternative comforter.

We had food and drinks down at the bar. It was just OK. Typical fried bar food, and a bit expensive.

Better places to stay than here.

I'm giving this place five stars because it's pretty nice.  I mean pretty nice as in you aren't probably going to find a nicer place to stay near the Hobby airport.  It has a 24 hour gym.  A restaurant on site-which has a pretty good continental breakfast.  There is a bar but I never went to it-i'm sure it's like any airport hotel bar-sad.

The bed was comfortable, the maid cleans everything very nicely.  The tv set is sort of crappy but you have wireless-so who cares?

    The staff was very friendly.

For this level of hotel stay-it deserves five stars.

Just tried to eat a salad at the on site restaurant and couldn't manage it.  Food all looked really gross.  As I was purchasing something in the gift shop the woman ringing me up refused to get off her personal phone call and instead use some sort of sign language to communicate with me.  When I turned to leave she decided to hang up and scream after me that she needed one more signature.
I stay in a lot of Hiltons and am very disappointed in this experience.

I understand why many of the reviews describe this hotel as being in need of renovation, and feeling rather dank and depressing. I am a Hilton Honors Diamond member but I rarely stay at mainline Hilton properties. I generally end up at Hampton Inn or the occasional Hilton Garden. So when I do get to a Hilton I have rather high expectations of the properties and the Hilton Houston Hobby really doesn't live up to those expectations.

I needed a "day room" for required rest today (company policy) and booked this hotel. I was given a Cabana room overlooking the pool. The room is large, and is, for the most part, clean. It is very ... I guess for lack of a better word, "moist". The desk chair actually feels wet, which is odd. The room is not particularly well-lit. The lamp at the desk is not working. There are no convenient power-outlets that don't require me to crawl on the floor. Same with bedside tables - you have to unplug a lamp in order to charge your phone.

Thankfully Diamond members get free internet because they do charge for internet here. Hobby airport is notorious for lousy hotels, but I think I had expected this hotel to be of a little higher quality. I can't imagine I would stay here again until after they have put time and money into a very thorough gutting and remodel of guest rooms.

The staff are very nice and the hotel is clean. My room was newly remodeled, spacious, and well maintained. The staff were extremely nice and accommodating. The free breakfast was large and yummy. My family had a unique situation whereas our cruise ship was delayed by a day. The hotel management gave us the additional night at a discount then when it turned out the ship was going to leave the same day they refunded the additional night and gave us a late checkout at 3 pm for no additional charge and their shuttle bus driver gave us a free ride too and from a nearby Wallgreens to do some pre-cruise shopping.

Can't say anything about the rooms - although I do realize that's the purpose of staying at a hotel. Nice pool. Nice restrooms. Clean location. Two years in a row, we've hosted our Christmas faculty luncheon in the banquet hall. Delicious food. Prompt and attentive service. I would stay here. =)

I am a hilton honors member so I never stay anywhere else. My first impression looking at the outside of this hotel is quite dreary but this place is very nice!!!! Our room was very nice as well!!! I hear they have newly renovated it. The staff is extremely helpful. We ordered food to our room & my salad was delicious! My husband said his chicken sandwich was dry (that's minor to me). Don't miss out on the cookie.... So delicious... Chocolate chip with walnuts. It was worth the stay! I definitely recommend it!

Disappointing.  Despite several attempts to get a cab to go downtown for meeting, the staff deferred me to catch the hotel shuttle to the airport to catch a cab to downtown there.  Such s lack of service.  I also had an impression that most staff didn't know whats going on in hotel.  It should be noted the staff wad friendly and very polite just not   accommodating as it related to basic hotel service.

Wow.  I normally love staying with Hilton hotels but not this one!!!    Love the gentlemen who picked us up from the Airport.   But from that point on it went down hill.   Front staff is very slow.   Management does nothing when there is an issue.  Double booked rooms.   Knocking on doors several times with "Do not Disturbed" sign out.    The Cookies had to be asked.   Location is very scary.    Did enjoy the waitress that worked the restaurant.

After reading the reviews here I was expecting a total shithole, but wanted a place close to the airport for my last night in Houston. I was beyond surprised by how nice my room was. It probably helped that I was upgraded to a large suite and I'm guessing, based on the new carpet smell, that they recently remodeled. It certainly isn't as old or dingy as I expected based on the other reviews here.

Other than the fact that they didn't have any cookies when I checked in, my stay was great. Surely the universe knew I didn't *need* that delicious cookie, so I'll take it as a sign. I'd definitely stay here again.

There is a reason I am a platinum member with Marriott . There is no customer service at this hotel. Helen the general manager doesn't return calls. Grace and Jasmine at the front desk need another job than in the customer service business. Down right uncaring and rude. My wife traveling with a 2 month old and 2 year old were treated like go somewhere else. How dare u ask to get a 1pm check out it will be another $25??? Really is that for your tip? We will never ever stay at this hotel and if you are traveling to Houston airport area please try the Hampton inn next door it is nicer.

I got in late last night. My room was very lovely.  The hotel is very clean.  The heat was not working in my room.  The refrigerator was not working either.  They sent maintenance to fix my heat.  He couldn't get it working properly but he said it wasn't blowing cold air any longer & he could come back in the morning. He said it would slowly raise the temperature.   I agreed the temp felt a little better & I just requested an extra blanket.  I woke up this morning it felt like the air conditioning was on.  My nose was running.  I should have changed rooms but it was late & I was so tired.  I had already unpacked last night & I just wanted to sleep after traveling for 9 hours.  I called the manager to switch rooms.  The manager in duty was someone named Kevin. He got a bellman to move me but there was no compensation he could offer because I booked through an online through a 3rd party company.  This was disappointing.  This was my first time staying in the Double Tree & I wasn't impressed that all he could do is give me a breakfast coupon.  I'll know from now on that when something goes wrong fix it right away & to watch how I book reservations in the future.

As soon as you walk into this hotel you are taken back by the friendly staff, and the cleanliness of this hotel. The entire hotel from the lobby to your room has a fresh and clean smell. Be careful on those doubletree cookies, they pack a lot of calories, but are very much enjoyed.
