If you are just looking for an easy place to stay in a great location, this hotel is perfectly adequate. It is quite dated and the elevator has a strange smell. Everything is just a bit older and smaller than what I'm used to seeing at Hampton or Holiday Inn Express. The price is good for the location and the continental breakfast is what you'd expect from any chain hotel. The place is clean and the staff is very friendly.

LOVED our stay at Drury near the Galleria in Houston!

    +esaver fare = less than $70 for a king non-smoking room
    +3 free drinks!
+free hot snacks (we stayed on a Friday and they had chili, hot dogs, chips 'n salsa, baked potatoes, and several more options)
+free soda and freshly popped popcorn from 3pm-10pm
+free full hot breakfast (french toast, waffles, sausage, biscuits, and more)
    +clean rooms
    +friendly staff
+PET FRIENDLY (we will definitely be bring our dog next time...there is NO pet fee)

If you are looking for a glitzy hotel experience, this is not the hotel for you.  However, if you are looking for major bang for your buck, then choose Drury!

Great value for your money. Jose, the manager, goes out of his way to make sure everyone is taken care of. The great breakfast and the evening drinks and snacks are perfect additions to a clean and comfortable hotel stay.

Is it the prettiest hotel room...no
    Is it scenic... no

Does it give you three free drinks each night.  YES!
Does it give you hot snacks to go with those free drinks... YES!
Does it have a hot breakfast that is actually tasty... YES!

    I freakin' love this hotel.
    I'd like to live here.

$100 per night gets you a suite with two flat screen tvs, free booze, free food

    Love it.

If you have to travel for business, stay at Drury Inns.  Seriously.

I can choose to stay wherever I wish, and I pick this chain over all the fancy big dogs (Hilton, JWs, etc)

I know this is starting to sound repetitive, but when Houston is calling, this Second "Home" for us is the absolute only place we will stay at in Houston. There are no other accommodations that we will even consider when the destination is Houston.

Jose and his Team continue to shine each and every time. He demands 110% from his Team, and they do it...they meet the challenge...and it shows.

Of course our comfy room was awaiting us upon our arrival early evening. The smell of popcorn permeating through the lobby...the hot food from the evening reception...and the warm, friendly faces are just so perfect after a drive in rush-hour. You know, even most of our fellow guests are in such good moods, and I really think it's because of how they feel about being in the Drury. I liken it to being on an isolated island or something...where we've escaped the craziness of the outside World...even if it is for just a short time.

Spent more time at the hotel this trip...lots of pool time, spa time...and conversing with the other adult guests while my daughter made a pool friend and had a great time demonstrating their gymnastics routines...in the water!

Bumped in to Esther more often this visit, during hours I didn't think she worked. Such a friendly, motherly-like "caretaker" at the hotel. She's always smiling, always working hard, and always wanting to take care of any needs we have. So...so appreciated.

The rates here and the amenities offered make this an obvious choice. Throw in where you are in Houston...and it's "Home!". Thank you Jose...Thank you Mr. Drury...and Thank you to the entire Team there at the Drury! Can't wait to see you again!!!!!

I'm a dedicated Drury fan after many stays at the downtown San Antonio locations, as well as the one in Amarillo. Forays to Houston are blessedly rare, but there I was last month, so I decided to check this one out. The location is very convenient to downtown, and pretty safe, if only because there are no apartment complexes to be seen. As with other Drurys, this one sports an awesome complimentary breakfast, dinner, and trio of adult beverages to ease you into a sweet goodnight. The staff is really friendly and always ready to attend to any need.

The only step down I discerned compared to other locations is that the rooms seem a little on the small side, and somewhat more dated. This is only a comparative measure, however. For the money this Drury, like any other, outclasses the competition.

Somewhere in my travels from Chicago to Houston, I got transported back to the '70s. Oh wait, it was just the hotel. Holler tacky retro chandelier in the lobby. Let's do the time warp again.

While I'm not a hotel snob, for the price of the hotel, it's a bit...rundown. And compared to other Drury Hotels I've been at, it's definitely on the low end of things. The rooms are a bit small and crowded, and the bathroom is made for a miniature person. Or at person that does not have any toiletries to put on the sink. Hello claustrophobia. For one person, the bathroom is small. For two, it's impossible.

The redeeming qualities in this place lay outside of the rooms. The free continental breakfast has quite an impressive spread (eggs, sausage, make your own waffles, pastries, etc). And free booze every day at 5:30pm? Ok, you get a 3rd star for that. They are pet friendly, which is a major bonus (but might also explain why its a little run down and the elevator smells...) Wi-fi is free throughout and the signal is strong. And while Houston is a sprawling mess of a city that I not fully able to grasp, I've been told that the location of this place is quite good.

So keep your expectations in check, and it will serve you just fine for a night or two. But pretty it ain't.

My family spent two nights at this hotel and received outstanding customer service.  Amazing freebees - free breakfast in the morning; free popcorn and soda from 3 pm to 10 pm; and 5:30 Kickback which is like happy hour with free food and drinks.

Jose the manager stopped by many, many times during our stay to ask us how we were doing, if we needed anything, and to just chat with us.  He seemed to be there all the time, making sure everyone was happy!  I hope the Drury Inn appreciates his dedication.  He really made this hotel a memorable experience for us.

We stayed here, not realizing hotel under construction-major construction. Front lobby, 1st floor walls down main hall , 4th floor over lobby & 3rd floor walls over lobby. I was disappointed my room was over the lobby on 4. The walls were unfinished outside my door & dust was visible on the door handle. I complained & was transferred to 3rd floor at the other end of hall with no construction. The manager, Mr. Miranda sought me out during snack/happy hour. I was impressed by his concern of my complaint. He was very nice & offered me a free night stay within the next year because of my complaint. He & the staff were working very hard to keep the dust down & all the guests happy. We had a nice stay & enjoyed the indoor outdoor pool. The breakfast snack/dinner & drinks were all fabulous. More than you would expect. Great location & great staff. We will return.

Nice hotel, but what got me the most was the staff.
Raul is AWESOME... had an issue he helped me resolve, in the most professional way possible. And he was super friendly about it.

Also LOVE that it's dog friendly.. me and my lil pup had our own beds. (Roomies for the night)

Manager was kind and helpful. In terms of customer service, I was thoroughly impressed.

This place is great. The whole hotel feels really clean and the customer service is excellent. The breakfast is always packed so I know it's gotta be great (though unfortunately I haven't been able to try).

I'd really recommend this place if you want to stay somewhere in the Galleria area that won't cost you your first born. There's a host of complementary features that you don't find at other places.

For the area this hotel is in. You cannot beat the value!   With all the perks (free drinks, food, snacks). On top of all that the service is flawless.   They were fully booked during our stay. We didn't have any issue with parking or anything else for that matter.
    We will be back.

    Thanks for the great weekend!
