I've been to this hotel twice before and will continue to come here for my Houston business travel.  Great that it's a Starwood property, too.  Very friendly staff.  Rooms are eco-friendly complete with recycle bin, endless supply of water from the filter in the room vs. buying bottled water, shower toiletries are via dispenser vs. multiple bottles of shampoo, etc.  Spacious rooms (comes w/ a microwave, refrigerator, some with a stove - not that you would cook, but it's a nice perk nonetheless), great price, comphy bed, free breakfast, too.  I haven't been able to partake in their complimentary evening cocktail hour, but I think it's a nice touch..

Stayed there again this past Friday and everything was the same as I last reported. EXCEPT, there was a kids league soccer team staying the night. So, breakfast the next morning in the main dining hall was crowded even though I waited a couple of hours to let them eat. After that, it was the rest of the hotel who showed up at 830-1000. The staff did an awesome job restocking the breakfast line. In addition, something I encountered was the rooms are not as quiet as I first thought. The couple next door to me had 3 obnoxious kids that stayed up late playing with their toys. Thankfully, they weren't early risers! If you don't want to experience that, make sure you request a room with no kids around you. Hopefully, in the future the hotel will be smart enough to separate people w/kids on different floors and keep those with no kids on a different floor. Peace and quiet is the focal point of this hotel, not screaming children running through the hallway.

Very nice and affordable eco-friendly and design option.  This is way the heck out near Spring, and it's kind of off alone in a field not yet filled with cosmetic dentistry practices and donut stores next to some new retail developments, but we were attending a wedding in the area so it was perfect for us.  I like a modern, clean aesthetic and Element fits the bill.  The beds are very comfortable with all white sheeting and every room has a little kitchenette with a green tile backsplash and stocked with dishes and flatware. Out back, there is a pretty heated pool and seating area.  Inside, there is a very comfortable and light-filled lounge area that people were actually using to hang out in.  Breakfast is included and has a nice selection of hot and cold options.

My only complaint is the walls are way thin.  We could pretty much hear every word our neighbors said as well as the noise from the hallways.  I would imagine this could be a problem for light sleepers or someone who needs to spend a lot of time in the room to work.

Property is nice, rooms are spacious but the AC is a bit loud.  In the effort to not print a lot (to save the environment), it took awhile to figure out how much things costs or how to dial, etc.  Also I hung my towels to conserve, but somehow ended up with fresh ones....

Breakfast was included and the fitness room had good cardio machines.

The pool lights change color kinda cool when looking outside.

I stayed here almost every week for several months.

The staff is awesome.  They will help you with ANYTHING and they are super friendly.

It's designed for a business traveller.  It's pretty new (opened in Spring 2009), so it's still really *clean* and everything feels new.

It's also literally across the street from a strip mall - a couple of great restaurants and a grocery store.  All the rooms have a kitchen (stove, microwave, full fridge/freezer, dishwasher), so you can buy food at the grocery store a 7 minute walk away.

Gym is ok - a few ellipticals, bikes, and treadmillls, and some free-weights.  They also have a small pool.

Breakfast is pretty decent - they always have fruit, some kind of egg sandwich or wrap, yogurt, and cereal.  And it's included.

It is difficult to find the entrance - so beware.

I absolutely loved this place.  Very comfortable stay at a reasonable price.  Its perfectly located within the Vintage Park shopping area.  You don't have to leave the  area to have a blast!  The best hotel features are the walk in, rain showers and the free breakfast.  We dined at Peli Peli Restaurant, in Vintage Park, and drove to Kemah and strolled the boardwalk.  I'd highly recommend the Element Hotel!

I absolutely loved my stay here! We were in town for a friend's wedding and chose the Element because it was the closest Starwood Hotel to her wedding location. The lobby was very Zen, modern, and clean. Also, it did not have that Hotel smell. You know, that kind of soapy smell that some hotels have. I am sure it is the cleaners they use, but sometimes I don't like it.
The staff was very welcoming and accomodating. I booked the 1 bedroom suite just so that we would have a little extra space. It looked like a hip city apartment. There were cubby holes for storage as well as a small table, kitchen, and a door that separated the bedroom in case you needed privacy. There was also a living area with a second tv.  I also loved the bathroom. There was plenty of room to move around and the lighting was good for applying makeup. Hey some of us gals look for that. Oh, the breakfast was good too! It definitely was a nice touch and saved us time. Also loved the eco-friendly features like recycling bins in the room and lobby, filtered water faucet, and a half flush option for the toilets.
Since it is right near the Vintage Park Shopping complex (it was a lot closer than I thought-definitely walking distance) we were able to go out during the evenings. We went to a lounge the first night, and then to Brix Wine Cellars. They had an nice outdoor patio with a live musician.
Even though we were just there for a weekend stay, I would have loved to stay longer. I felt like we got in a mini vacation.
If you are looking for a clean, updated hotel with friendly staff, definitely book here.
Oh, and if you drive a hybrid, you get rockstar parking!

It depends what you are looking for, but we LOVED this hotel. We had my cousins wedding this past June in Texas, and have a very large Irish family.  With that being said, we were a little thrown off that there wasn't a hotel bar but we definitely figured a way around it. The hotel was so accommodating and let us bring in all the booze we wanted to the hotel lobby.  Given that we only see each other once a year-if that, it was nice to be able to hang out, joke around, etc at our  "home base" for the weekend. The front desk was very friendly and helpful, helped us clean up OUR mess in the lobby, quick response if we needed anything in our rooms-just overall very pleasant.

Lastly, the breakfast is great and FREE :)

We have had multiple family weddings and I can honestly say that because of the Element's hospitality and easy-going attitude- this was one of the best wedding/family reunions yet.

I travel a lot and this was the worst hotel I have stayed in for a long time. I will say that it was clean and the people that worked there were nice. If you are looking for a good night sleep then don't stay here. The walls are paper thin and you can hear your neighbors upstairs and next door, outside and in the hallways. The front desk didn't seem at all surprised when I said something. Also, they allow dogs. Beware if you have allergies. Hard to believe this hotel is part of Westin.

Nice new concept for the Starwood hotel group. This particular location has a great lobby area with lots of different options for either solo web surfing, or having a drink with someone. There is a really nice outdoor patio area also. The Element is definitely for someone that appreciates clean sleek modern design. The rooms are nicely finished with great bathrooms and roomy shower stalls with huge shower heads. I'm not sure how I feel about hardwood floors in the rooms instead of the usual carpeting, but I have to admit it was a nice surprise, and I did not really find noise from neighbors to be an issue. As with all Starwood hotels, the beds were super comfy - luxe sheets and really good bedding.
They also served an impressive breakfast which is included - nice healthy options and well prepared and presented.
The only drawback is the location if you need or want to be closer to downtown Houston, which is about 20 minutes away. Otherwise was very happy with my stay and will definitely give another Element a try if there's one where I'm going.

Maybe I'm not not hip enough, or "with-it." I found my first Element lodging experience a puzzling event.

First off, it's location is not the most accessible: to enter the Hotel grounds, you must enter from the rear of the property. I arrived around 10PM, parked, and could not open the doors. The rear doors are locked at night. Getting to the front entrance means driving around the building, or turning onto the main road, then making a U-turn.

My was nice, but odd. The floor plan is squarish, vs. the typical rectangular arrangement. The room flooring, with an area rug under the bed. No carpeting. The odd part was no practical place to put my clothes. Yes, there is a wardrobe, but the no dresser drawers, only "cubby holes." I set my suitcase up on the valet & kept my non-hanging items there.

The A/C was loud, and blew on the bed. The other oddity was no bottled water. I asked at the pantry, and was told there was a filtered tap on the sink. I'm not complaining... It's just different from my typical experience.

Breakfast and happy hour drinks are included in your lodging charge. The breakfast had eggs on the buffet; however, they were never hot.

Anyway, I'll probably stay at my regular Hilton Garden Inn down the road. I suppose I just crave consistency.

This is a nice spot for an extended stay in the Spring area, as the rooms are set-up more like apartments than hotel rooms. There is a full kitchen in each room, complete with dishes and a dish washer. Even more convenient, there is an outdoor mall with restaurants and shops across the road. Very nice!

Great hotel. All rooms have kitchenettes. Best beds I've ever slept in and pillows great, too. You will not he disappointed with this hotel. However, the prime parking spots for hybrid cars is not enough to make ne go buy one. But if u have one u have guarenteed up front parking most likely. This would be a 5 star if they had a hot tub and water in mens lobby urinals. Another perk is free wine, beer, appetizers Monday-Thursday from 7-8pm!

Nice room, nice amenities. The room had a small kitchen with all the things you would need to make a meal. Never even turned the TV on but it was nice.

Clean. The room was clean, bed linens were clean. I also always check the corner of the mattress for bedbugs because I am terrified of getting them, mattress was clean.

Bathroom. Hair on wash cloth. I went to dry my hands and there was a dark curly hair on it. Picked out a new one and it was clean though.

Shower. This place had a shower head straight out of hell, it was square with small evenly spaced holes. However the shower head was corroded out so the water was pouring from the sides rather than distributed evenly and through the faucet head. So we ended up having to use the other water wand hand thing to take showers. It was the only want to get the shampoo from your hair.

Comfortable bed. The bed was quite comfortable, but the sun was quite bright when we woke up in the morning.

This place caters to business travelers although seem to be on the lower end.  I'd rather go to Marriott Towneplace in the same area.

    Pros
-Walking distance to several restaurants and bars
    -Polite staff
    -New and modern design

    Cons
    -Limited breakfast selections
-Noisy - TV noise next door, hallway conversations, refridgerator
-Stingy - 1 serving of coffee a day in your room
-Very hot in the afternoon because the entire side of the building faced the sun
-Pillows were too soft, and there was no other selections

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The location of the hotel isn't very convenient to get to and actually kind of dangerous since the spot you make a u-turn at is at a curve and you might not see an oncoming car. The lobby is spacious and clean. Restroom in the lobby was clean. The pool was kind of dirty and dirty towels left all over lounge chairs. There's no smoking on the premises so no worries about rude guests smoking in the pool. The room was nice, however, we did noticed stains on the couch cushions. There's no screen on the window, kind of odd since you can open it and we were on the third floor. Bed was nice. SO said he really liked the comforter. I don't mind the water pressure but some might say it's really weak. We had a dog with us so they didn't service the room. They can't service the room unless you're there or the dog is not there, for obvious reasons. Dog stays for free, you just have to sign a liability and rules of behavior for it. It also has to be under 40lbs.

What I really enjoyed about this hotel is the breakfast! They made a vegetarian hot option every day. The wraps were really good. It's pretty much the same as the regular just replacing the meat portion with a vegetable such as asparagus, tomato or spinach. The pastries were good too. They also have soymilk for those who are lactose intolerant like myself.

Though the hotel "looks nice & modern" it needs major upkeep.  And maybe some new front counter help while they are at it. When my husband was searching for hotels, his main requirements were pet friendly/family friendly. This place is both! We thought we scored the perfect place. Wrong! It is pet friendly, but not "family friendly" We had to get sheets for the pull out bed before we could put our tired boys to bed. When I asked for them I was told that I'm supposed to request them when we booked the room. The faucet in the bathroom is broken, the latch on the door is broken.

Some positives are that the bed was comfortable, the shower had decent pressure for being in a hotel, and there is lots of storage in the room. I'm sure if we were staying longer than just the 1 night that we are, we would have utilized the full size fridge & kitchen area.

I recently stayed eight days at Element Vintage Park in the one bedroom suite.

The two-tiered grand lobby was spacious, beautiful and perfect for meeting guests or just relaxing. Desk staff was incredibly helpful during our stay. The complimentary breakfast and evening treats were always tasty and well-planned.

Our room was modernly arranged with living and sleeping areas. The living space opened up with a large L-shaped sofa sleeper with a complete entertainment center and large flat screen TV. There was a large glass work desk with plenty of available electrical outlets. My favorite feature was the fully functional kitchen including dishwasher. What a bonus. The separate sleeping area with king-size bed, built-in storage and flat screen TV was very comfortable.

Sadly, the overall wear and tear on the room clearly showed. Our bathroom vanity was deeply worn and chipped. The living room sofa was moderately stained. A rather corner piece of the headboard was broken off and missing. Speaking of missing, was a night stand lamp. Odd. Floors, a mix of carpet and tile were clearly dirty. My slippers came home filthy. Glad I didn't walk barefoot in the suite. The overall spartan decor (our room had zero wall prints) and clear lack of general maintenance was very apparent.

The hotel could shine if maintenance issues were address, rooms decorated and floors thoroughly cleaned.

I stayed here last weekend with my son and his friend. We were very impressed! From the clean lines of the lobby to amazingly comfortable beds, we enjoyed everything the hotel had to offer.
Super friendly front desk staff. Great snack area that even has dog treats ( yes, it's a pet friendly hotel). Tasty breakfast options. Beautifully appointed room with everything we could possibly need. The kitchen with full sized fridge and a dishwasher was a nice touch.
We only stayed one night, but wanted to stay longer!

Alright, time for a quick Starwood hotels branding lesson.

You need to look at Starwood brands in four classes, arranged by theme not price:

    1) St. Regis / The Luxury Collection / Le Meridien: Pristine and top-tier hotels that are usually extravagant and resort-like. This class is for the opulent luxury travelers who enjoy shiny things and hotels with local character.

    2) W (parent) / Aloft (offspring): Modern ultra-chic hotels with a dark party theme that attracts the young hip crowd. Expect minimalist modern decor and sharp neon colors as well as social amenities like free drinks and

    3) Sheraton (parent) / Four Points (offspring): Convenient business-oriented hotels that cater to all the needs of a business stay. Every single item/service/commodity you may possibly need has been meticulously planned.

    4) Westin (parent) / Element (offspring): Eco-friendly green themed hotels that focus on well-being and healthy lifestyles. Expect tea-scented soaps, white/green interior, and calm serene interiors.

    ---

This hotel is my first Element, and I was blown away by the amenities they offer. Fully-equipped kitchen (plates, cups, dishwasher, full fridge, etc...), free (delicious and healthy) breakfast, gym, pool, business center, etc...

But what's special about this hotel (and Elements in general) is the glowing white ambient lighting, modern decor, healthy options, spacious shower rooms, and apartment-like setups. You can't help but feel happy and refreshed while staying at this hotel. My favorite mid-tier hotel so far.

And for 3-star hotel price. Sign me up!

An eco friendly hotel.  Totally unlike any other place I have ever stayed.  Imagine having a room that looks like one of those IKEA studio apartments you see in the IKEA stores.  With a Westin Heavenly bed to sleep on.

Great service.  Nikki at the front desk was wonderful and made sure we were taken care of.  We had some issues with our on- line reservations and she fixed these right way.

THEY HAVE THE BEST HOTEL COFFEE EVER!!!   Dark roast...Reminded me of Starbuck's.  They have a complimentary breakfast that is great. They have the typical pastries, fruit, make your own waffle things and then offer a special main Item with a vegetarian option.

Today they had egg white veggie breakfast burritos and sausage egg and cheese burritos.  Yesterday they had bacon, egg, and cheese egg or egg white veggie English muffin breakfast sandwiches.

This was a great  place to stay at a great. Value.  I will look for more of these in the future.

What a nice surprise!  Very sleek hotel; could be a long-term stay place, but it felt more like someones trendy apartment.  Comfortable corner sofa, swivel TV that could be viewed from sofa or bed, full size refrigerator with ice maker, 2 burner cook top, dishwasher, microwave, china plates/ cups, silverware & cooking utensils.  Office area with desk, chair, pull-out file trays, docking station for electronics.  SUPER comfortable bed & linens; bathroom with large shower (no tub) and dispensers for shampoo & body wash. Great breakfast with options changing daily...  always warm breakfast sandwich-type offerings (including vegetarian), warm pastries, variety of milks, juices, teas, yogurt, muffins, bagels, toast, cereal, fruit.  On weekends, waffles are offered.  Super large gathering area with conversation areas.  Nice patio, pool and fire pit.  During the week...social hour in the evening offered beer, wine and substantial snacks.
