WOW! This is by far the nicest ES I've ever stayed at hands down! I travel a lot for business and whenever I'm in downtown Houston, this will be the hotel for me. We got in late (9:30) and caught dinner at their restaurant and it was delicious. I had the pineapple salmon and my colleague has stuffed chicken breast (both under $20.00). Breakfast was good and the omelet bar was great! WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!

Usually Embassy Suites are good places to stay at, the Houston Embassy Suites was excellent.  Clean, modern and friendly staff. The managers reception each evening was attended to by a friendly bar tender who knows how to serve a good drink. The munchies were good too. Just a block and a half from the convention center, it's a nice walk through the park.  Will definitely stay there again.  BTW, 3 of my colleagues also stayed at Embassy and were equally happy.

My experience here deserves two stars - but the hotel design bumps it up to three.  I think this hotel could possibly get 4 to 5 stars if it worked out a few kinks.  I called twice to have someone help with the thermostat because it was too warm in the room.  The second person said they would have engineering look at it which they never did.  I asked for a room not by the elevator so they gave me one across from the elevator lobby on my floor.  Also, there was construction going on outside starting at 7AM - so the quiet room I asked for - I did not receive.  The room decor and design is really beautiful - and it's received some environmental awards as well.  However, my toilet would 'burp' sometimes - it would actually splash without being touched/provoked and sometimes the water would splash out onto the marble floor.  Very odd.  In addition, I left quarters (and other loose change, needed for parking meters etc) in my valet parked car .  When I retrieved my car, all the quarters were gone (other change was still there).  The breakfast buffet was only ok - I've had better at other Embassy Suites.  Because of all this, I changed some of my appointments, actually changed my flight too, and left a day early.  By the way, I emailed management of this ES and never received a response.

CALL IT AMBASSADOR SUITE for this particular downtown Houston location - it's New, it's Nice, it's Not bad, Not to mention Free Breakfast Buffet, Never kNew Embassy could be this NICE. Its was a Happy Halloween weekend, and i got intimate with this hotel.
~Lets begin with a description of the room, a spacious suite with 3 rooms;  bed, living, and bath.  There were 2 plasma TV, a full living room set that match the modern decor of the room, a comfortable work area, and a nice size bathroom where most women would not have complaints about.  Now onto the bedroom, loving the clean and fresh smell of their sheets giving me a great night sleep, that is very important to know.  The view was very nice on the 17th floor and location was so right for this hotel.  Everything was close and cab ride were cheap.
~I travel alot and usually near the end of my travel i start to miss home.  This hotel felt like home to me and i would definitely come back to visit.

My stay at the Embassy Suites Downtown was fantastic! The rooms are beautiful, and the manager's reception was better than most that I've been to. Everyone, from the front desk staff, to room service, to housekeeping, was very friendly and helpful, and ready to answer any questions. The free breakfast is delicious, and the guy they have on the pancake and omelet line is hilarious! The only complaint that I would have is about the lack of an airport shuttle, but everything else that this hotel provides makes it worth the extra cost to Super Shuttle.

Had a great stay at this location. The suite was really nice and roomy, I also enjoyed the views of the 18th floor over looking parts of discovery green park. The location is walking distance from toyota center, GRB, discovery green and minute maid park.

Love love love this hotel!  Very quite, love the decor (looks like it was styled by High Fashion Home).  Very friendly staff.  The buffet was awesome . . . great cheesy grits and Gregory knows how to make an omlete and put a smile on your face.

I am in LOVE with this hotel!! Love the modern decor, love the large rooms with an amazing bathroom and ridiculously comfy bed, full couch, love seat, plenty of work space. love the beautiful pool and jacuzzi that is open late night!! The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The free breakfast is so delicious with a chef just waiting to make an omelet for you! The free happy hour is awesome. The location is perfect! Looks right over Discovery Green Park which has live music, yoga, silent movies, a fantastic restaurant and just lots of fun space to stroll through! Convention center, Rockets, Astros all right around the corner! Thank you Embassy Suites Houston Downtown!

My maid of honor planned my bachelorrette here. It turned out great! We had a suite so there was a bedroom in the back with two doubles and a small living room with a wet bar. We turned the sink into an ice bucket for our punch. She checked in early and decorated the room in bachelorrette style. One thing that would have made it better was a shuttle to anywhere in the area. I had a group of 15 girls to get to Howl at the Moon. We took a cab and one girl also drove. She ended up getting her car towed... The cab was cheap but I would have rather shoved us all into one big van to go out.

The next... painful... morning was made a little easier with their continental breakfast which I did not enjoy to its fullest but my bridesmaids did.

Parking is expensive!!!! I would try to find somewhere else to park if possible.

Great views of Discovery Green and downtown. The style of the hotel is very modern. I would recommend this hotel for anyone doing business in downtown or going to the George R. Brown Convention Center.

Great hotel for a decent price. Very nicely decorated with bright colors and fun touches, outdoor pool and full fitness center. Breakfast was included and was great, better than most hotel breakfasts I've had in the past. Our room (king bed) was very large with a separate living area. All around the hotel is very clean and well taken care of. Will stay here again!

I'm a Hilton Diamond member and after staying in the Hilton Houston Americas for a couple of nights I switched to the Embassy Suites across the street to save about $200 per night.  I have to say that my room here was twice as nice as the room I had at the Hilton.  Really a gorgeous, modern room.  The hotel's pool and gym are pretty nice too.  While I would not go for the food, this Embassy Suites is quite a nice choice if you are staying in Downtown Houston.

This is a very nice hotel but their reservation policies are unreasonable. I booked a room a year in advance for a conference at the convention center that always results in the hotel totally filling months in advance. I tried to cancel the reservation for 5 nights 2 MONTHS in advance and was told that they would charge me the cost of a night's stay for the room I booked. Essentially, they charge $248 to make a reservation. I called Hilton customer service to ask if this was their policy and was told that it was not. As a result they told the manager to refund the "deposit" on my reservation but had I not complained, the hotel would have charged me. It was clear from talking to Hilton that their properties can implement whatever policies they want. It's a nice hotel but beware of being gouged when you make a reservation.

This is a wonderful hotel.  The suites make for a comfortable stay while I'm in Houston for the International Quilt Market.  The suites are large, stylish and comfortable.  After a long day of work this is the perfect hotel to come back to.  It's walking distance to the convention center.  They have a great hot breakfast buffet with an omelette chef who always has a cheery attitude.  They also have a happy hour in the restaurant with snacks and drinks for guests.  I have now stayed here twice and I wish there was an Embassy Suites in every city I travel to.

This was my 2nd stay at this property. I must say it's a great choice, staff are welcoming, more of an adult hotel compared to most ES's i've visited, and I've stayed at a bunch. Good location for Rockets, Astros, bars and dining. Rooms are new-ish, modern and comfortable.... I will be back.

WOW!  I recently stayed here for my wedding and I have to say, it has been one of the best experiences I have had with a hotel!  They were incredibly courteous and accomodating.  The rooms were spacious, clean and modernly decorated and was able to fit 8 people running around getting ready for our wedding very comfortably.  The breakfast was awesome with an omlete bar, breakfast bar, fresh fruit and all the coffee/soda and tea you would like to drink!  Thank you so much Embassy Suites for making my wedding weekend so special!  Will be staying there again soon!!

I am writing this review because I want to WARN OFF anyone who thinks about staying here in connection with something at the convention center.  DON'T.  This Embassy Suites is getting one star because it is a nice facility - it is loosing all other stars because it lacks COMPLETELY in service.

I was here for the Junior Olympics with my son and the rest of our team from Miami.  Over six months ago, we had booked rooms and specifically asked to be on the same floor.  Imagine our surprise when we arrived and discovered we weren't on the same floor at all because it "wasn't something they could accommodate."  Isn't that something you're supposed to tell the guest at the first point of contact?  Six months ago?

So then we have dinner after the first day of competition and the hotel restaurant is COMPLETELY INCAPABLE  of serving us.  Literally members of our party got up and went into the kitchen to discover many of our plates sitting under the heat lights.  For what?  The kids in our group had ordered easy things, like pasta and chicken fingers.  More than an hour later, they did not have food.  NINETY MINUTES after we sat down is when they brought us rolls.  I'm not even joking about this.  When I complained about the charge to my room for the meal upon check-out, the desk clerk told me that the restaurant was totally separate from the hotel and there wasn't anything she could do.  Really?  Then how was the restaurant able to bill my room directly?

Other awful points of service to note:
They ran out of soda and lemonade. Completely.  They only had water, alcohol, or soda water.

Rooms were not made up until after 5:00 PM.  I left my room every morning by 7:30, and by 5:00 you hadn't gotten to mine, halfway down the hall?

Unacceptable.  Never again back to this particular Embassy Suites.  They are unable to accommodate actually being full.

When we travel with the family we usually stay at Embassy Suites because of the room it provides. (With three boys we need the space!) When we checked in at the front desk the staff was friendly and helpful. But it was our walk to the room when I realized this was going to be a different hotel. The colors were bright and vibrant, very welcoming. And the room was even better, modern and beautiful. The one thing that impressed me about the room was the size and storage places. We were staying there for a week and had a lot of stuff. I hate a room that looks cluttered and the person that designed this room must share my compulsion because it was orderly and organized. Nice!

If I disliked anything about this hotel it was the restaurant. The food and service is just absolutely horrible. Ate there twice and would never do so again.

I'm not a huge fan of downtown Houston, but I was incredibly surprised with this hotel.  Throughout my life I have stayed at countless Embassy Suites and I can confidently say that this is the nicest one.  The rooms were immaculate and the staff was great.  Just like all other Embassy Suites there was a free breakfast and a managers reception, but here they had better food and stronger drinks.  It was also within walking distance of just about everything in downtown H-town.  My colleague stayed at the Four Seasons next door and he has actually jealous of my hotel and he paid close to double the price.  I don't think I will stay anywhere else if I ever have to come back to Houston.

I gotta say...out of all the Embassy Suites i've stayed at, this has been the best location!!!

I'm not sure if this downtown Houston location was recently remodeled or new, but everything about this location was new!

Great service, nice rooms, good food for the FREE breakfast and a nice manager's reception that was FREE. Only gripe with the reception was that they only had 1 beer on tap (Bud Light). At least they could of had the Texas made Shiner Bock on tap.

A great experience! Just make sure if there's a conference or something at the hotel and you valet parked your car, you call them from your room to have the valet guys bring your ride out early. We waited 20 mins for our rental and were late for our training class!!!!

VERY close to the Toyota Center (Rockets) and walking distance to MinuteMaid Park (Astros). BTW..GO SF GIANTS and LA LAKERS!

This hotel is nicely decorated and is either new or has been renovated. I read that it was a great hotel for families so this is why we chose it. Unfortunately I didn't find it to be great for our family. We have 2 very young kids, toddler and preschool age. Maybe this hotel is a better fit for older kids. Our room had no bathtub (which I like to have for the kids). Our bathroom door was a sliding door that does not lock. This was no fun for us having to constantly tell the kids to stop playing with the door. There was no way to keep the door shut so this was frustrating for us with the kids.

Yes the breakfast was free but hardly fantastic. It is a serve yourself buffet, but no staff on hand to help with drinks or seating, etc. The line was very slow moving on our first day since the cooks actually plate your food in the buffet line and the area where they cook to order can back up the whole line. Second day was not as backed up. The scrambled eggs taste like those creamy fake eggs hotels often use.

We tried to eat in this restaurant one night for dinner. Big mistake. As with many hotels (I don't know why this is), service was very SLOW. We should have known when there was nobody in the restaurant. It's nice when you are traveling with kids to be able to eat at your hotel. But it is never nice to be with kids in a slow restaurant.

One night somebody accidentally opened our door. Our fault I guess for not having it locked. No big deal really just thought I would mention it.

We had a good time in the pool and the staff was nice. I think this would be a good place to stay on business or without young kids.

Great place to stay for the convention center. Only a 5 minute walk to the convention center and Toyota Center. A 10 minute walk to Minute Maid Park.

Surprisingly quiet for a hotel filled with giant teenage volleyball players.

Rooms were big and clean with wonderful quiet air conditioning.

Good breakfast, USA Today at your door, and Wall Street Journals available in the lobby near the elevators.

Overnight parking is available in the lot next to the hotel for $20/day. You must buy a ticket each day from a kiosk.

Many good restaurants available 3 blocks to the north.

Staff in the lobby always welcomes you back. I accidentally called room service about a housekeeping issue, she told me that she would call housekeeping and tell them.  I love employees who are empowered to take care of an issue and not pass the buck!

    We would stay here again.

    Great hotel downtown!
One of the newest additions to downtown Houston, this particular Embassy Suites is one of the nicest I've stayed at, and I've stayed at many around the U.S.

We stayed here on a Saturday night because we were seeing a show at the Toyota Center.  Not only did they give us a good rate, they had a Cadillac Escalade shuttle to take us to the Toyota Center.  Really made the night that much more romantic.

They also have an outside heated pool and hot tub on the 3rd floor.

Rooms weren't too huge but they were quite comfy.  It was quiet and we slept very well.

Breakfast wasn't really good, hence the 4 stars instead of 5.

I would reccomend this as one of the top hotels for business travelers in downtown Houston. Hilton usually does a good job and this particular property speaks to that reputation.

Without a doubt, the BEST customer service I've ever received.

I stay at hotels frequently for business travel, and Hilton hotels are my hotel of choice, Embassy is always my first pic.  I was pretty intimidated booking a hotel in "downtown Houston", and figured the traffic would be a nightmare - but this one was so close to my meeting site, I took the chance, and i'm so glad I did.

WOW, what service - from the valets to the delightful desk staff, to the chef and the cleaning staff, just over the top friendly, welcoming, and professional.  The room was immaculate, no odors, everything worked fine, and I liked the extra touches of free internet, mouthwash, spray starch, and lighted facial mirror at the vanity.  The elevators were super fast, the hotel was always appropriately lit and quiet, and I appreciated the breakfast buffet in ADDITION to the made to order standard.  the traffic was never a problem, and there's a Pappasito's right across the street.

Drawbacks:  They lose a star for Valet-only parking, I paid $20 a night to stay in the lot behind the hotel.  And the décor is a little on the bizarre side, kind of 70's ultra modern, and the tiny sliver of a "full length mirror" left a lot to be desired.  I did have to call maintenance because I felt warm in the room, but they came right away and confirmed the temperature was true.  Weird, because it didn't feel as cool as the gauges were reading. I never found a Starbucks, and I did occasionally notice an unsavory element around the hotel, particularly at night, but the valets were outside the whole time, so I felt safe.  I will absolutely return, and recommend highly.

My fiance and I just spent a few days in Houston for a combined business trip/romantic getaway. The entire Omani staff from the valet to bellmen, front desk staff, housekeeping etc. We have stayed at various Omani properties as you can always guarantee a high level of customer service and attention to detail! We highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here on our next visit to Houston!

The rooms were big, clean, and had a very cool modern feel.  The breakfast is the best I've had at a Hilton chain hotel thus far, which is saying a lot since I've been to many.  The location was alright.  It's an area that is usually busiest during the day. Most places around close relatively early.  There were a couple places open at night within a walking distance though, so it wasn't too bad.

Embassy Suites on Sunset Boulevard in Amareca is a very nice facility with a pool and very nice rooms. Everything is clean and has a very friendly and pleasant. Free parking and free internet are available. 10 minutes foots and you are on Hollywood Boulevard Walk of Fame, and Kodak Theatre. Even restaurants are only at few minutes walk away. The only drawback is seemingly thin walls, you can hear from the next room when we speak louder there.

Happy to give a five-star review for my 600th review.

I stayed here when running a half marathon that started near the convention center and this place is great.

All the staff members were super friendly.  The free breakfast was great.  All the common areas were super clean and my room was spotless.  It also had a microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator and two televisions.  I don't even have two televisions in my home!

The voice in the elevator is awesome.  Vaguely South African accent...whenever I'd get on and push the button for lobby, she'd say "Going down." And the way she said it was so cool I'd giggle and clap.

Location is perfect if you're doing something at convention center.  Also super close to Toyota Center, Minute Maid field and the soccer stadium.   There are plenty of places to eat/drink within a 10 minute walk.

I thought this place was great and would recommend it.

This hotel was perfect for our mini vacation to Houston for a concert! This hotel is extremely dog friendly and the accommodations were perfect! I have a furry family member who joined us on our trip and there were no questions asked when I brought her with me! I believe I was charged a deposit ($50.00) for her but other than that no questions were asked. Just bring poop bags for when you take the dog out to go to the bathroom as it is located downtown woth minimal places for dogs to do their business. There are two really close dog parks/dog runs next to the hotel as well that are within walking distance. The Toyota Center is one block away and is an extremely short walk. Thank you so much Embassy Suites! We will be back March 16th for my Birthday getaway!

I stayed at the  Embassy Suites a couple of nights on a business trip. I had a deluxe room on the 4th floor with 2 double beds and a city view. The beds were very comfortable, the room was quiet, there were lots of outlets for my computer, phone, etc. All Embassy Suites staff were very friendly and helpful.  Embassy Suites is great place to stay.

I recently stayed here while attending a conference at Toyota Center and I had a very enjoyable stay.  The check in was very fast, and the front desk staff are extremely friendly & helpful.

The room was very spacious with a bedroom & living room with a sofa, dining table with 4 chairs, as well as a small kitchen complete with a sink, microwave, fridge, & coffee maker.  The only thing I found a little strange is that the bathroom door is a sliding door that doesn't lock.  Not a huge drawback but I did find that a bit different.

Nevertheless, the bed was very comfortable, and the view of downtown Houston is really great from the room I had.  There is also free breakfast offered and I would highly recommend taking advantage of the custom omlette station as the other food offered is quite bland.  There is a wide variety of breakfast items to choose from and a very large dining area to enjoy.

The pool deck is quite cozy, with a pool and a few fountains.  It was nice and quiet to relax on during my time there.  A guest key is required to access the pool area.

It is a very convenient location and excellent price.  The Convention Center is 1 block away, and Toyota Center is 1 block away, and Minute Maid Park is just a couple blocks away.  There are tons of parking lots nearby, as well as a shopping mall & a really great grocery store all within a short walking distance.

It is important to note that even if you extend your check-out time, the guest keys are deactivated at 1pm so be sure to stop by the front desk to get the key reactivated if you have a late check out.

It was a very pleasant stay and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others.

Coming from the hospitality industry, I was extremely impressed with my stay at this hotel. I was there from Dallas on a business trip, and instead of driving back to Dallas that evening, I decided to stay the night and relax a little. My plan was go out for a few drinks in the local area since there are so many bars and restaurants near the hotel. The problem was that when I checked in at 9:45pm my phone was dead and their shuttle was about to end its routes in 15 minutes. The front desk staff (Ana) was very pleasant and helpful. (TIP: Most of the time hotel employees will mirror your attitude, not to pat myself on the back, but don't try to be picky, nagging and rude and expect them to be extraordinarily helpful) Not only did she find me a spare charger to use to charge my phone, she even called the shuttle driver to tell him they had one more guest needing a shuttle. I later found out from the driver that that night they were extremely busy and had already stopped any more incoming shuttles but the front desk called and made sure he added me as his last ride. The driver took me to some great local spots as well and told me where to go at what times. It is safe to say that I had a great night out and it was extremely relaxing! The breakfast buffet in the morning was great. It is made to order, and lets just say that I pigged out that morning.

Overall, I would DEFINITELY stay here next time I'm in Houston. In fact, I don't think I would consider staying anywhere else at this point.

This is what I'm talking about!  No matter what I pay for, I want to think I got my money's worth.  Downtown hotels in general are usually expensive.  Embassy is no different per se but they give you a lot for that price.

To start, you get free wifi.  That seems like a given but in the sky-rise downtown hotel, I've seen 20.00 per day prices!!!! The free breakfast is second to none.  Tons of fruit, bacon, sausage, eggs, omelets made to order, unlimited juice, coffee and soft drinks.  I actually made it a point to wake up early just to partake in the breakfast.  So good!

They also have a social from I believe 5:30-7.  Free beer, wine and house drinks.  There is also a cheese, fruit, and veggie spread.  The beer they had on tap was I believe Bud Light and Alaskan Amber.  The Alaskan Amber was a solid draft.

The rooms are ginormous!  I could fit a family of 9 in there.  There is a front living room with chair, couch, flat screen, sink, microwave and fridge.  There is also a separate bedroom with another flat screen.

Parking always sucks at downtown hotels and this one is no different.  However it is connected to an outdoor lot and I was able to park there for 20.00 a day instead of 30.00.

Another great Hilton affiliated hotel that hits all my expectations and then some.  I'll keep my eyes out for Embassy during my travels.
