I got transfered to Houston, and it was on me to find a decent location to stay at while my relocation was sorted out.
Using just google, some sordid reviews, and endless searching. I tried my luck out on the Extended Stay Deluxe Hotel over at Hwy 290 and Hollister.
I stayed here for 5 months.
- Clean. Not going to lie, I was very leary of living in a hotel room that I didn't know much about. However, they are awesome at keeping everything clean
- morning coffee without the rudeness
- security at night to monitor activity.
- GREAT for business folks in town for a week or two.
- For an establishment right by the hotel, awesome locale.
- 10 minutes from galleria area
- friendly and absolutely helpful staff
- Right next to a Wal-Mart
- free gym membership to the Bally's that's literally 1500ft away.
- Target is next to the area
- I LOVED IT.
The rates were reasonable, considering you have your own kitchen, dining, living (don't get me wrong, it's still a box); but a very well kept box.
If you're moving to Houston, or looking to find a place to stay at while waiting on a home to be built. I highly recommend this place.
Traffic isn't horrible, considering u have beltway 8 to the north (next exit), and 610/ I-10 to the south of you (3 miles).
I was getting into downtown, midtown, and heights on friday nights within 15 minutes from here. Plenty of places to eat at, and a tinseltown movie theatre nearby for a night out within a 1 mile radius.

Don't stay here!!! I only reason it has a one star from me is because I had to put it there. Avoid!!! avoid!! avoid!!! Stay in your car before staying here. The room was dirty, stains all over the room. The sheets had stains and dirt on them, but what was worse was I had BED BUGS!! Went to move to the pull out couch bed and it was covered in spiders and the sheets looked like they hadn't been changed in a year or more. There were even shards of broken glass in the bed. IN THE BED! Also had bed bugs. It took me about 30 mins at the front desk to get a new room due to the fact that there wasn't anyone there and you have to call a person in the back to wake up. It was 3:30 am. Then the woman that emerged from the back was a house keeper and barely spoke English. Took another 30 mins to get her to realize I wanted a new room and why. The next room was dirtier than the previous but thankfully no bed bugs. I will not be staying at an extended stay again.

I cannot rave enough about this hotel. I stayed here for 3 months while on a business trip. Most of the staff was very helpful, Sal (who I believe is a manager now) is absolutely amazing and has become near and dear to my heart!! Waking up to a quick breakfast and muffins in the lobby. Or enjoying a nice "view" of the water (swimming pool). My first business trip felt like home away from home.
Don't get me wrong, this definitely was not in the cleanest part of town. But very close to everything, easy to access and find when lost. Good places within walking distance. If I ever return to Houston. I'll most definitely be staying here again!
Miss you sal!!!!
