If not for a room upgrade the next day after our late night arrival, I would not up the rating to another star. Yes, we arrived after 11 p.m., and found out the room we reserved was given out to another guest. We are in this city for a convention. We have booked our room weeks ago even prior to making airline and transportation reservations. We were tired from the flight which wasn't a non-hassle free travel as u know it with air travel. The female hotel desk clerk was very apologetic and offered "the only available" room for us "just for the night" but...it's a room in a smoking floor. I hate smoke and so is my companion. There is something about smoke that does not agree with me. To make us feel better she sent housekeeping to "air" out the room and "freshen it" and for us to wait another half-hour or so before we go to the room. Since we were tired and needing the sleep, we agreed and since I had no more energy to argue or make other plea for another room, I walked away and slumped my tired body on the hotel lobby's sofa and waited. We were reassured that the next day (which was actually "the day" by the time we walked into the room), we will be upgraded to a suite on the higher floor of the hotel and that it is non-smoking! One night means only 8 hours because by 11:30 p.m to 7:30 a.m., we will be out of the room located in the smoking rooms floor of the hotel. Okay, good enough. Grabbed that 7 hour sleep. The next day we called the hotel front desk at 7 a.m. and the room was not available yet, and since I had to attend the convention, I hurriedly grabbed food from their Continental Breakfast the hotel offered and dashed to the conference room. By noon, I got a call that the room is ready and so on lunch break, we moved our things to the Suite. Yes, how sweet is the Suite. Chocolates and water bottles as well as fresh roses in a vase. Clean, well-appointed rooms with essentials, and with a view! Happy! No smoke smell! No lingering odors! No change in the room charges either when we checked out. Our stay was for three days, three nights in the hotel....in the Suite, it was for two nights and three days. The hotel is a short walk across from a mall. The banquet rooms and conference rooms were large. A decent facility. Parking areas was well-lit. The Suite was very comfortable and well attended to by housekeeping. This used to be a Wyndham hotel. This hotel is located in a good area in the city of Houston.

We're huge fans of this hotel because of the small one room suites with two TV's and wet bar.
Small outdoor pool and no hot tub. It's a business conference hotel.
    Rack rate $$$

The hotel was decent.  The food in the lobby bar was alright, the gym was nice, the staff was friendly.  I held a meeting here and I wouldn't choose this hotel again.  The sales people took so long to get back to me, our entire group had issues with our door locks/keys, and the area around the hotel is "unsafe", and the Internet was very unpredictable.  Also the rooms are out of date.  Not a terrible place but I wouldn't return.

    Expensive for what you get...
I don't know if it was the pillows or the AC, but I arrived feeling fine and left with a dry sore throat and asthma manifesting.  It was only occuring in the room... when I wasn't in the room during the day I felt better.  Maybe mold in the HVAC or something I'll bet.
TV didn't work properly.  Bath tub didn't drain properly.  The waiter I had at the restaurant was great, but it took me ~15-20 min to actually get seated and the host was a bit of a jerkoff.  Bar was okay, but too wine-oriented and a bit pricey.  On top of the expensive room, they charge daily for internet.  Elevators inefficient.  Further from airport than it seems, although free shuttle.  Hotel in the middle of absolutely nowhere, across the street from a shoddy mall where I thought I might get shot.

First and foremost, this is a perfectly nice hotel. the rooms are clean, recently or about to be renovated (the process is ongoing), suite-ish with a separate little living area, and they have the option to get a room with an air filter, which is nice for people like me with mad allergies. The service staff was fantastic, the meeting spaces seemed spacious and accommodating, the hotel bar was great (separate review to follow), and but for a couple of things, this hotel would have gotten a 4 star review from me following my stay there last week while in town for training.

However, those things are significant enough that they're down to 3. First and foremost, the part of town where this hotel is located is fine during the day, but not fine AT ALL at night. When the cops in my class found out I was staying in Greenspoint they immediately said oh, Gunspoint? Don't go out at night, and especially don't go near the mall. The hotel, however, still lists the mall on their website as a recommended things to do while in town.  Additionally, parking is at a premium. While I was there, there was a big conference of some sort, and coming back from dinner meant that parking got difficult. There is plenty of parking in the garage at the back of the hotel, but its not well labeled so many people were parking across the street in the mall parking lot. No thank you! I don't freak out in less-than-stellar neighborhoods, but I prefer that my hotel not be in one thanks.

FInally, and the real reason the Hilton is getting 2 stars instead of 3 or 4, honestly has nothing to do with my stay (and I recognize that this is a one-off and likely not reflective of normal practices, but this is my review, so sharing my experience). When I returned from my trip and was reconciling finances, I found an extra food and beverage charge on a card that I had only used in the hotel bar. I wanted to give the hotel a chance to clear it up before involving my bank, so I got in touch with accounting and shared the problem. After being assured that I'd hear back by noon, I heard nothing back. This was a Friday, so I waited until Monday morning to call again, and had no luck again getting through to my point of contact until after lunch, who spoke to me like she was too busy for me and assured me that was working on it she'd keep me in the loop. After STILL not hearing anything by Tuesday morning, and being assured by accountant friends that it should not take 2 full business days to figure this out, I called and asked for a manager, explaining my situation and saying that the person in accounting was not helping me. After being on hold for a couple of minutes, I was passed back to the same person in accounting who had apparently received some sort of talking to and told me that she couldn't account for the charge either and to go ahead and call my bank. It turns out that the extra charge was an accidental double charge, probably operator error on the part of the bartender at the hotel bar, and is being fixed.

This situation would not have been a big deal had I received calls back and updates as promised. But the fact that if I wanted any information I had to be the one making the phone calls really puts a sour taste in my mouth. If not for that response (and probably the whole neighborhood thing, not gonna lie), I'd probably strongly consider this hotel next time I'm in town. But truth be told, I just can't bring myself to even think about it.

Decent facility, on par with what you'd expect for a Hilton.  The area isn't all that great, but the hotel seemed safe and secure.  It's montrously huge.

-1 star for not giving me the free wi-fi that I'm supposed to get as a Hilton Gold member, however I was able to glom on to the Greenspoint wifi from the mall(?) and it was actually quite fast.

Use to be Wyndham Hotel and the Hilton came along and bought out the Hotel chain. The chains actually aligned.

This location is beautiful, you forget for a "Slight" second that you are in the heart of Guns-point! Thankfully the Mall Management is building some new-fun-filled things in the future at the mall across the way.. Starting with the new Movie Theatre 2010. I've been to numerous conferences and shows here. They have a very large banquet room upstairs. This is a nice over night stay palace, but I'm old fashioned, give me the Marriot.. I could use their breakfast (Homemade waffles, Chef Omlettes, etc.)

This is my first stay at a Hilton and I found the facility to be quite amenable.  Rooms are comfortable and include a suite area separate from bed area.  The reception area is very large and somewhat ornate. The hotel food options seem ok albeit they have hotel prices.  Starbucks is located inside lobby area.  Friendly staff welcomes you.  Surrounding locale doesn't appear to be the greatest but the facility seems quite safe in and of itself. After I type that I realize it sounds kind of scary, but really it's not.  While although I did not use conference area it seems very nice.  I think it's an acceptable area and people should not be so afraid.  If you hear different, please let me know

p.s. wi-fi is actually free but you must agree to charges which are then removed at checkout. yes it is weird i know, but I am told it is free.  If not, I will update this review

This was an extremely nice hotel but I was no impressed by their rude demeanor and over prices rooms. The room service was quick but the portions where tiny! And although the pool was nice the work out room was sub-par. The staff overall were extremely rude and unhelpful.

The facility is decent, but in need of an upgrade.  I like the open space of the lobby, but the loud musak is a little much.  The rooms are spacious, but are also in  need of an upgrade.  CRT tvs?  Not so much...

Given the location in "guns point" and the fact that there is nothing really to go to out side the hotel, the fact that there is a starbucks inside the lobby is a plus and why I am giving this hotel 1star.  I give the staff 2 stars because they are friendly and helpful.

If my company didnt force us to layover here, I wouldnt stay here.

This is one of the nicer Hilton's in the houston area. The lobby is very large and grand. The rooms are nice and well appointed. I recommend eating at Vino in the lobby. It was shockingly good and a reasonable price for a hotel.

I would like to give 3.75 stars.

This is a remodel of I believe a Wyndham Hotel, but they did a good job redressing it, since on the inside, it looks absolutely new.  The outside, looks clean, and fresh also.  The Lobby is large, vast, perfect for a banquet, and when I was here, they happen to have a dance contest going down.

The room I was in was on the top level of the building, with the Concierge Lounge, HHonors level.  It was like a one room apartment, minus the appliance.  Two Televisions, a couch, nicely sized bathroom, and of course the Hilton bed.  Soft and comfy, warm bed, clean.  It wasn't the largest room, but it was a nicely decorated.

Plus: The hotel has a very nice Concierge Lounge, with a dedicated staffer, who takes very good care of the people there.   They have food and lots of drinks, alcohol costs 4 dollars, but hey, at least the food and soda was free.

Cons: Parking isn't exactly the most reasonable, if the front lot fills up (like when I came here, and there seemed to be a swing dance contest), then you have to find your way back of the hotel and park in the maze like parking tower.  Seriously confusing, if you drive into that thing looking for parking.

If I was in Houston again, I'm sure I might make my way back there again, having a car helps, and it's close to the airport, which rocks.  It's on part with what I expect with Hilton. (Good Thing)

If you are looking for your stereotypical Hilton come here if you can make it......

So I am all about first impressions and this one was interesting to say the least. As I boarded the shuttle out of the airport, I was greeted with a smile and a small bottle of water (nice touch when it is 90+ degrees outside). I made the mistake of riding in the back row.... Needless to say after several blown red lights and watching several drivers flip our shuttle off, we made it to the hotel in one piece.

Most of the time I tip the van driver when they handle my bags. On this case I was unable to do so and the driver expressed his displeasure. I feel bad when this happens, but I do not need to see the driver hold out a hand and expect a tip. As I checked in with my co-worker we asked to be placed on the same floor. We were immediately told that would not work, and I was placed on floor 12 and she was placed on floor 3. My request for a King bed was also turned down.

After settling into my room, I recieved a phone call from that very same co worker stating she was being moved to my floor into a king bed because her room smelled like smoke... and all the sudden a king room opened on my floor for her.... That is how you thank a Silver Hilton Honors member......

This hotel's success is fully dependent on its beautiful facade and its reliable corporate clients.  If you have a choice, stay elsewhere!  The management does not respond to complaints about cable outages, slow Internet, poor room cleanliness, or general
    The hotel gets 2-stars because:
    - Internet speed is terribly unreliable and slow, yet it costs $11 per day!!!
    - Staff is either completely friendly or completely unhelpful. It is a battle between "I love the staff" and "I hate the staff"
    - Rooms are clean, but they neglect to remove items ordered through room service such as wine glasses, steak knives, silverware, or coffee mugs. This leaves a bad smell in addition to a sub-par customer experience.
    - The hotel's "Vino" restaurant and bar take about 10 minutes per menu, so if you go there with 2 people it will take at least 20 minutes for service. In addition don't order your food cooked in any way other than well done.
    - Every aspect of the hotel is expensive.
    - This hotel could get 4 stars if they treated their guests like customers, not a variable that could increase share price.

If there was a 3 1/2 stars, that would be my choice.

The rooms are big, clean, and very nice. The flat-screen TV is fine and the beds are comfortable.

There are some downfalls though, including: no fridges, pay for internet, and the extremely slow internet! Honestly, it might not be worth buying the internet due to how slow it is. I called the desk and there was nothing they could do.

The pool is ok and the fitness room is of average size. This isn't worth the high-price for the lower returns.

I stayed here recently for work and by the time I arrived at the hotel, I was very sick- I didn't know it at the time, but I had the flu. I ended up ordering Room Service because I was so feeble. The only thing that sounded good to me was french fries and bread, which I felt guilty about ordering from room service since it didn't seem like enough to justify someone delivering it, but Escobar, who answered the phone was extremely understanding and nice about my requests, despite the fact that I was almost certainly being whiny.

Escobar was the one who ended up bringing my starchy dinner up to me and when he saw me, this nice man immediately offered to go fetch me some medicine from the hotel gift shop. I declined as I had some in my bag, but I thought that was so so nice of him. I stay in hotels often for work and it is not often that the employees go out that far out of their way for a guest.

The guys and girls working at the front desk were very friendly, nice large lobby with a Starbucks conveniently located by the front door and spacious, clean rooms- I'll be back, Hilton Houston!

Over all the hotel is ok, but a bit more security in the parking lot would go a long ways. Sadly, the work force also reflects Gunpoint. The lobby was nicely kept and main reason to avoid this place is the location.

Stayed here for just one night and picked this hotel since it was close to the airport. The lobby was really large and grand and that was about it. The room itself was small and there must have been a business event because the front parking lot was completely full, but thankfully they had parking in the rear and parking was free. The front desk staff was nice and courteous. Hotel toiletries were nothing exciting. The hotel is right across the street from a mall with a movie theater so that was a plus.

This hotel is more for business trips, not luxurious or for a vacation. They didn't offer free wi fi so that was minus a point. The lobby is part of a business park which appeared to hosting an event so we got stuck waiting for a hoard of what appeared to be folks on their lunch break.

Overall, the hotel was fine. But I wouldn't choose to stay here again, it was not memorable.

If I could give this hotel negative stars I would gladly do so!  I accidentally left a very expensive piece of luggage (Louis Vuitton) on the shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel. Unfortunately, I am returning from living overseas and had 13 diamond/precious stones rings, a Rolex, and several very expensive items in this bag.  The shuttle driver from the airport to the hotel did not follow lost/left items process and decided to STEAL my bag and all it's contents (to the total of $50,000.00)!!  The management did nothing, which made the experience that much more traumatic of a loss.  The pice were called and a theft report was logged.  The management refused to review the video or arrest the shuttle driver!  If you don't have valuable items and don't mind  absurdly pathetic customer service ... Stay here!  Otherwise, there's a Marriott right around the corner!  I am not filing criminal charges against the hotel chain, the management, and the shuttle driver.  I have requested the Houston Police Department to arrest the driver and the manager on duty.  I will NEVER stay at any Hilton brand hotels again!  Hopefully after reading this review and how they choose to treat people, you won't either!

Sweet digs! Plush bed, powerful shower, nice bathroom amenities. Flat-panel TV with an adequate (but not great) TV selection. Room is pretty enormous with two chairs, a work desk and plenty of floor space. This would probably be a 2-br apartment in NYC or SFO. Parking ROCKS!

However, the wifi here is $11/day. In 2012, that's just not cool, no matter how swank you may be.

I had one problem here: my room wouldn't cool off. The AC was set to 60, but the room was close to 80 degrees. I called the front desk who immediately sent maintenance up. He checked the AC unit to see if it was working, and it was. He just said to give it more time. I eventually fell asleep and woke up to a lukewarm room. I called the front desk again, and they were more than happy to immediately change me to a similar room. Excellent service, even if the equipment in that room wasn't great.

Loving it here, although I am going to invest in a mifi. $11 per device is kinda crazy.

Be prepared to be in these misled of nothing!  The hotel is ok... nothing to write home about!  Three most annoying thing for me (and the reason I'll never stay here again) was the fact that I didn't have a car and the hotel shuttle is virtually non-existent.  I would assume if you knew you are weak in an area that you would over compensate for a poor location... nope!  (...even though I am have status with the Hilton they couldn't care less).

I've stayed at Hilton Hotels several times.  We get discounts through work, so i just make the most of it.

It's 15 minutes from George Bush Intercontinental Airport, and is across from Greenspoint Mall.  I have mix feelings for the front desk clerks working there.  Some of the staffs were nice and friendly, and some didn't even care to help me.  The Internet in the computer room was so slow.  It's a good thing i didn't pay to use their WIFI.  The rooms at this particular location is no different then a Holiday Inn Express.  It's decent but i wouldn't pay the regular price to stay here.

The outside is very grand. For the area I would say it's the best hotel in the area. We were visiting family that are 3 exits away so it was perfect. Services was excellent.  Everyone was so helpful and nice. Now about our room and stay. We had a king suite. I like that the hot water (shower) worked perfectly.  I've stayed at some hotels and the hot water is warm. The room was very big but outdated. I still will stay at this location bcuz it's affordable, clean, and good service. Oh I didn't mention the restaurant....the food was good. Best burger we have tasted in a while. Oh we did have a problem with the heat in our room, they couldn't fix it bcuz it was 1am so they did give us another room on the same floor and what I was impressed was they sent someone up to give us the new key. My first thought was it's going to take a long time for the person to deliver the key.  I was wrong the person was there in less than 5 mins! What I appreciate about this hotel is the service. We will stay again.

I would go 3.5 to 3.75 if I could.  It's my first time here and wasn't excited at all about staying in an area called Gunpoint.  Here for work and if I just stay here in the hotel that works for me.  It's actually really nice.  The only other thing I didn't like was the fact that there wasn't a fridge or microwave in my room/suite....HOLD THE PRESSES!!!  I just boosted it up to 4 stars.  While doing my review in the lobby, a manager just asked how I was doing, and he was very helpful in telling me the highlights of the area, and the HYPE about the area.  It was a prime example of good customer service (I guess that's why he is the Guest Services Director) I actually wouldn't mind bring the fam on the next trip.  Still gonna keep a star because of fridge and microwave or lack there of.

I really can't think of anything bad about this hotel. The area is decent and despite being in Greenspoint, I felt perfectly safe arriving late, venturing out again, and coming back even later.

Customer service was friendly, and the lobby is huger than huge. No complaints regarding the room. We requested something higher and it was honored. The room was clean. Nice modern decor. Wouldn't be my first choice if I were visiting Houston and making moves but if you want to be near the airport or for a getaway where you want to be away from Houston's main attractions, this place is comfortable. I snored like a baby in that bed...might have been the company though hehehe

Overall no complaints from the room, decor, or staff...pleasure to stay in! Can't speak on wifi, didn't need or use it.

Stayed here for a wedding.  I had put a note into my reservation which was completely ignored.  If it weren't for Shay who was able to fix our reservation after it had gotten messed (though it ended up taking over an hour) and for Francisca who provided us with a crib and directions on how we could break it down and put it back together, I would have only given it two stars.  Aside from the reservation fiasco, the wait staff left something to be desired, and the hotel Starbucks isn't open on weekends.  The lobby is nice though and made for a very nice venue for the wedding.

Landed at IAH and called three times for shuttle. They keep saying, "he is on his way". After 40 minutes, we grabbed a cab. $35 later. I am pretty disgruntled.

Second and third visit... Had to stand in the hotel van because it was so over capacity. The hotel needs to up frequency of airport pickups.

My trip to the Hilton Houston North wasn't bad, in fact it was pretty nice but there were some areas that could definitely be improved.

For example, the shuttle drivers to and from the airport: it would be nice if they greeted you upon arriving and departing. They picked up my luggage and got the job done, with tip, but it was just a little strange that they didn't speak. The check-in process was smooth, but I had to go and get my key re-swiped 3 times during my stay. Every time I went to the fitness center and then back to my room, my key no longer worked. It's a pain in the butt going through the gorgeous atrium to the desk, all sweaty from a workout, to get the key sitch taken care of.

Although the hotel is gorgeous, there seriously is NOTHING around it. Be prepared for this. I wish I would have rented a car because I was stuck at the mercy of what the hotel had to offer, which was a wine bar-YES, and a Starbuck's-YES, and semi-decent food from room service.

The room was spacious and clean, although somewhat humid. The walls were thin as I can tell you, in detail, what the guy in the room beside me talked to his wife about on the phone each morning. It made me a little uncomfortable to know that he could probably hear me in the same sense.

Overall, not a bad place. It is perfect for conventions and meetings, and is huge, but it just isn't the best place ever.

It's really more of a 2.5 star place because of the funky location. We had a junior suite which was a great amount of space. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. Staff was very friendly. But...there's an outdoor pool overlooking a huge office building. The restaurant choices are meager inside the hotel and the food is weird...mediocre...and weird.

We were there 4 nights for a conference. There was an open restaurant (in the lobby) for breakfast and lunch, a small "vino" bar with food, and a Starbucks. The Starbucks had strange hours and didn't have the regular choices in yogurt & sandwiches. There were times when nothing was available but microwaveable foods near the reception area. If you don't have a car, you're totally screwed. There's a mall across the street but I heard from others they felt unsafe walking there and inside the mall.

Let me elaborate on the food -- everything was a mound of stuff. My partner ordered a flat bread appetizer and it was not flat. It was like a mound of quesadilla. I ordered pasta twice -- once ravioli and the other time some mixed veggie pasta dish -- and they were both a mound of stuff. Maybe this is traditional Texan cuisine?

Worst stay ever.  The walls are so thin you can't sleep because of all the mechanical noises created by the elevator,  neighboring buildings,  and other visitors.  This hotel is very popular with flight crew personnel and they tend to get up early,  which I can clearly hear when they wake up.  My next stay will be at another hotel away from the airport highway.

If you want to have your vehicle stolen this is the place to stay. Have an event there but hold on to your belongings. I phones walk away, money, cameras, even purses. Security not too good there either.

This place was pretty decent given the price.  I was here for a convention and figured I'd just stay rather than go home (about $30 in gas round trip each day). So for $100 a night we had a room with a king size bed and a separate living room area with a couch and wet bar.  This made it great for having a few friends come up for a social gathering at night during the convention. I wish I would have seen Nhi H's review for the pasta bar as I might have given that a try.

Really nice customer service. Shay at the front desk was amazing.  She went above and beyond the call of duty to make my stay a happy one. The pool was a lifesaver. And the beds were like sleeping on a cloud. What an amazing stay.  Oh and Kim Perry is an angel. She really knows how to make each and every guest feel like they are special. I can't wait to come back again.

Well from what I have seen & can tell this is a pretty nice hotel. Chris' union hold their quarterly meetings here, and the conference rooms are pretty nice & spacious.

I am the only female that comes with their spouse/significant other (Chris likes bringing me along, lol) so I have to either bring reading materials or entertain myself other ways, lol. The newspaper can easily be found which has helped me pass time.

The staff is really nice, professional & courteous from my dealings with them. During the winter months there is a hot chocolate dispenser so you can help yourself.  Matter of fact, this evening there is some tasty lemonade out that I'm currently enjoying while people watching & catching up on reviews.

There is apparently a Starbucks kiosk, but they close early because every time we've been here, they're all closed down (sniff sniff).  It'd be nice for them to open until at least 8:00 because every time I've been here I see other people snooping with that crack-fiend look in their eyes; not to mention that I could surely go for some of that wicked chocolate chai, lol.

There's also this nice little wine bar/eatery called Vino located in the lobby that lends to keeping you entertained, feeds the munchies & quenches ur thirst buds!

Review is for pasta bar/restaurant in hotel only.

    Unlimited soup and salad bar.
For your pasta, you can pick:

    Meats: chicken, shrimp, sausage, pepperoni
Veggies: artichoke, peppers, broccoli, sun dried tomato, mushrooms, asparagus
Pasta: spiral, fettuccine, tortellini or penne
Sauce: Marinara, Chipotle Cream, Mushroom or Alfredo

When I'm not eating from the pasta bar, I usually order the Ginger Glazed Salmon with cous cous and asparagus. The Salmon is never dry or bland.

I always stay at Marriott but was surprised how nice this Hilton was and nicer than many of the Marriotts I stay at.  Liked the separate seating area with windows to the hallways.  Service was great and room was in excellent condition.

Visited the hotel this weekend for a convention and was really happy with their layout and staff. The lobby and ballrooms were impressive, and if looking for a place to handle your event, I don't think they'd have issues accommodating.

So planning a weekend getaway for the fight .....Groupon had a deal on this Hilton...me being me....I checked out the Hilton website as well and they had the same deal! WINNING!! I was able to book this on the low and still rack up on my points for HiltonHonors. I'll admit the area is kinda sketchy and the outside looks nice....but the inside is kinda dated. The staff was very friendly and very attentive. Our a/c was not cooling and they had maintenance check it out right away. They only had ice machines on select floors. An inconvenience but not too bad. Since the room on the floor I wanted wasn't available, the front desk gave me a complimentary upgrade. WINNING!!! I'd stay here again, since I'm not moving in and don't spend all my time in the hotel room or hotel..the fact that it's a little dated is not that bad.

Looks nice from the outside but service is awful.

Came here for a conference yesterday and had some supplies to unload.   Arrived around 8:30 and there wasn't a valet or bellman in sight.  Walked into hotel and still couldn't find anyone so we left our car outside and came in.  Finally located a bellman and started to check in.

There were maybe 10 people waiting to check in and the person at the desk was talking to a patron for 10-15 minutes while barely acknowledging that everyone else was waiting.   I had checked in online so finally she handed me my keys.  My friends waited at least 30 minutes to check in.  The manager was "on a conference call" so he couldn't help.

Next experience was the restaurant.  The waitresses looked miserable and were very rude and the place was disgusting.  I saw her use 3 glasses that were all dirty and one was covered in lipstick.  When I pointed this out she gave me a dirty look and fixed the lipstick glass.  I would never eat here.

Overall, terrible Hilton and pretty pricey.  Do not stay here.  I'm A Diamond member so they will hear about it there as well.

I stayed at this Hilton for one night prior to boarding a cruise at the relatively new Bayport Cruise Terminal (note to future cruisers: the port is about a 45-60 minute drive away from this hotel).  The hotel was perfect for a single night stay, but I would hesitate to stay here for an extended period of time.

The hotel itself is fine.  There isn't really anything special about it, other than having a dedicated Starbucks kiosk in the lobby (which wasn't even open on the Sunday morning that we checked out, sadly).  The rooms featured a standard two bed set-up, the bathrooms were clean and sizeable (though I wish they featured a a fan for venting shower steam), and the lobby was expansive and comfortable.  They have an airport shuttle that whisks passengers to and from the nearby (10 minutes, tops) George Bush International Airport every 30 minutes or so.  The price was also reasonable, setting us back only about $150 CAD (currently only about $120 USD) for the evening.  I'm not sure if it was because we booked through a third-party site or new policy at the hotel, but wifi was also complimentary for the duration of our stay.  That being said, it was a bit unstable (I had to reconnect every 10 minutes or so if I walked away from my device).  The staff was also very helpful and friendly, going out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and looked after.

The downside?  The neighbourhood that this hotel is located in is...um...not amazing (I'm trying to be polite).  We wanted to go to go for dinner, as well as find a liquor store and a convience store so we could pick up some pre-cruise wine and snacks.  There was next-to-nothing within walking distance.  Not that I would recommend walking in this area even if there WAS a nearby convenience store.  During our short jaunt outside the hotel, we were followed by a hostile gentleman in his SUV, who seemed to stalk us until we went to hide in a nearby Wendy's.  You'll also find a "mall" directly across the street.  I put mall in quotation marks because it actually felt more like a random smattering of mediocre shopping opportunities than an actual mall, with at a least 1/3 of the place being completely void of stores.  Even the Macy's looked like it had been mostly abandoned years earlier, save for one or two loyal employees who decided to keep the place running as best as they could.  And for dinner?  We ended up at iHop.  Meh.

All in all, the hotel itself was good value for the money and I would consider it again for a one-night stay.  But learn from my experience - order in pizza, hunker down with a good book, and don't leave until you absolutely have to.

The only reason they lost a star is because of their location in the sketch sketch area. My company is aware of their nickname "gunspoint" so we're actually not even allowed to walk outside and were told to use their shuttle if we needed to go anywhere. Scaryyy.

Other than that, the service is awesome. One time my heater was broken and they immediately sent up maintenance to fix it. Finally, a hotel that can do something about a situation and not make me move rooms. Good job!

One night I came in really late from a 9 hour flight delay and the bellman immediately asked me as I walked through the door if everything was okay and if I needed anything he would be more than happy to accommodate. I laughed and told him I wanted my usual "executive suite" and he just went along with the joke. However, my friend did end up having room issues and they did move him to a suite which included access to free breakfast. Lucky duck. Awesome service recovery right there.

I usually dislike Hilton Hotels. Doubletrees are fine as well as Hampton Inns but for some reason, Hiltons themselves are usually lacking in service. Not this location. I always look forward to coming here.
