While the room was fine and the service was good, I had one overarching complaint, which I related to the woman at the front desk as I checked out.  The hotel has both smoking and non-smoking rooms; however, the smoking rooms are interspersed on each floor among the non-smoking rooms.  Why not simply have a smoking floor?  As it is now, each floor has rooms with that musky odor despite being designated non-smoking.  It just makes more sense to keep all the smoking rooms on the same floor.

I brought a group of ladies here for a conference and we very much enjoyed our stay. Rooms were so spacious, breakfast was much more then just donuts, but the real deal, and within walking distance to the Galleria. And did I mention they serve free dinner on Mon-Thurs night? We will be coming back for the conference next year and we will definitely stay here again too.

My best friend spent alot of money to find us a decent hotel near the galleria for my bachelorette weekend. I had 5 bridesmaids coming from different parts of Texas to stay here. The suite was nice and roomy and clean. We would have never suspected when we woke up the next morning to itching and bugs. EcoLab came out to confirm the room had bedbugs. I felt so horrible, some of the girls were traumatized. We've all heard the horror stories of how difficult these are to get rid of. The assistant manager was very apologetic and helpful, even moving our stuff for us to an upgraded room. The best she could do for a refund was to give us points for the value of the room and offer medical services and upgrade our room. I was very disappointed that we could not receive a full refund for pain and suffering, not to mention exposing ourselves to this pest and risking taking home to our families. Disappointing and extremely stressful experience.

Very pleasant stay.  Front desk staff was incredible (thanks Kashif!).  Was diverted to this hotel when another did not have my reservation and could not take a walk in (?!?).  Lobby was nice/clean, room was just right (no odors/stains, bed was comfortable w/lots of pillows) and the free breakfast was far better than others I have had at comparable hotels.  I look forward to staying here again.

The price is great (for a 2 bedroom suite) especially considering the location.
Everything else at this place is second rate at best. The lobby smells horrible from their horrible free food. The free wine or beer is the very cheep stuff. The cups for water or other beverages are Dixie cup sized.
During my week long stay something was broken each day. One day it's the elevators, the next it's the garage gate, then the parking elevator, followed by the toilet. The housekeeping was half-assed.
Only one girl that works there was friendly and helpful. Everyone else seemed to act as if they had better things to do than help you.
Also, it's a minor thing, but this place has the world's most slippery showers. Each time you get in you take your life in your hands. Hold on to the handrail.
Stay somewhere else if you can.

We recently had to relocate our family to a nearby hotel while our kitchen was being repainted.  We have a family of five (three adults, one teen and one tweener) so we needed some reasonable space, with a fridge and near some sort of action to keep the kids busy for a while.  We chose the Galleria area because it's close to our house and we needed to do some summer shopping anyway.  Homewood Suites is kitty corner from Macy's at the Galleria, so we checked in.  Unfortunately, our reservations were made through a third party vendor ( Hotels.com - I would not recommend them!) and our reservations never made it to the hotel.  The Homewood Suites front desk was extremely patient and happily contacted Hotels.com for us to straighten out the mess.  We got into the two bedroom King suite, and settled in for our two night stay.  The room was clean, the room was quiet and cool; we enjoyed the amenities such as the weekday light meal/happy hour and daily breakfast, and free internet access!  We had to stay an additional night and therefore had to move to a slightly smaller room - a one bedroom suite with two queens.  I think this suite was better because the common area was slightly larger, and there was a larger space in the bedroom.  Again, a tidy well kept room, very comfy sheets and pillows.

What impressed me the most was the kindness and the welcoming feeling offered by every staff member we encountered there.  The front desk seemed to really know their customers.  It was a very comfortable place to stay for us.

The one down side was the indoor pool was small  and over-chlorinated.  Definitely not family friendly, but you can't have everything.  Parking is $15 a night, too, but we had in/out privileges.

Im a big fan of Hilton's HomeWood Suites. Its our favorite hotel to stay when we travel. So, when we wanted to take a weekend trip to Houston; I booked this UpTown/Galleria location. I really enjoyed our stay It was in a great location; right across from the Galleria mall. I really enjoyed taking a morning walk through Houston's UpTown area. I felt like I was walking around NYC or Chicago (not that I ever been to any of those places, but I will soon). The rooms were really nice, and the Price was awesome.  All the rooms have a kitchenette that features a full size refrigerator, two burner range, microwave oven, and a dishwasher.  The bed was really comfortable plenty of pillows, and a sleeper sofa for the kids. The stay also included a free hot breakfast, and not some rinky dink continental breakfast. A Foodies Must..

The only problems I had with this hotel was that parking was $10 a day, and the swimming pool was kinda small. I guess someone didnt want to pay the $10 so they drove through gate. (How Ghetto see pic) Other than that you cant beat this place. Where else in the are you going to stay in UpTown/Galleria area $101 a night?? I give Homewood Suites UpTown/Galleria 5 stars you cant get better stay for the price.

I like staying in the Galleria area when I'm in Houston.  You are close to a great shopping mall, shopping areas, restaurants, and bars.

Homewood Suites is nice, but the rooms at this location are smaller than most other Homewood Suites locations.  Staff here is very nice & housekeeping does a good job.  The beds are always more comfortable than any other hotel beds.  I also like that their towels are soft and fluffy opposed to feeling siff and rough.  Who doesn't like a kitchenette including a full size fridge?  It also has a nice desk - which in my opinion is a must for hotels now a days.

You pay $15 a night for parking (in & out as much as you want) if you are a guest here which is not how most Homewood Suites locations have parking set up.  Most Homewood Suites have free parking.  You pay for the location and you are in a garage.  In comparison to 5 star hotels, $15 is actually verrrry economical.

Breakfast/Evening manager's happy hour:
Breakfast is free and simple.  I always have oatmeal and fruit, but they offer other hot breakfasts like eggs and sausage.  The dining area is nice.  In the evenings M-Th they offer a complimentary meal, beer, and wine.  This is a nice option they have if you don't want to step out of the hotel.

Love this place!  Friendly staff.  Convenient and conveniently located.  Good amenities.  Decor in hotel and rooms is pretty good.  Easy to get to garage.  Food is not bad but not worse than what you would expect.  Overall very happy we stayed here!

Homewood Suites me and my fiance actually stayed here a few months back and i can't believe i never wrote about the experience. This hotel was super clean and honestly worth what you spend to stay here. We got upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite we didn't need all that space but it was defiantly a nice treat .The front desk was very sweet and huge help. I would suggest this hotel while you are in Houston! And the beds were super comfortable A+

After a horrible experience in a different hotel, I checked in to the Homewood hotel. A totally different experience! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. A couple minutes from arriving to my room, the front desk lady called me to make sure I liked my room and that everything was ok. Definitely staying here again.

Hospitable staff called and made sure we were comfy shortly after we arrived. Pool & hot tub area were nice even with a couple of wild kids running around!

Great location close to the Galleria and Bellaire area.

My cousin and I enjoyed the dinner and wine provided and didn't have to leave the hotel for dinner! Beds were comfortable and nice. Room was clean and tidy when we arrived!

Will definitely return to this hotel!

Good for the price and close to things.  Not a great hotel, avoid the rooms nearest the freeway.

Ok, could not stay at the hilton garden inn due to no rooms available so stayed at a lower cost alternative the Homeward suites.  First off check in was easy after an exhausting flight.   First up check, the attendant released I was tired and got me into a room fast.   Everybody I have meet there have gone the extra mile.  Service has been superb.

The room is good, bed, kitchenette and big tv for a cut rate.  Good deal.   The hotel has a pool Nd gym to boot, but the biggest deal has to be the breakfast and the compted dinner.  Both serviceable for hotel food and served buffet style with red or white wine and/ or beer.  The only beer is bud light with a tap, advice here is too let the gal working to pour, beer foams easy and she is an expert.   Now the only negative thing is lack of a parking lot.   Easier to park at the hilton garden inn.  The hotel has a parking garage that is 15 dollars per day the parking spaces are tight so drive careful.   Lastly they called on the last day to see if I needed anything.   They earned five stars.
