Horrible experience. Avoid at all costs. Once we arrived we were greeted by vallet they had no idea what they were doing. It was chaos from the beginning. Once we checked in at the lobby we were introduced to the rude staff. Whom could not answer any questions and gave the impression that they were all new and it was opening weekend for them. Our room however, was beautiful....the only good thing from our stay. The monnaliza bar was a huge disappointment. The staff were extremely rude and all they wanted to do was stand around and talk to each other. If you wanted a drink, you had to go and get it. The "waiters" would not come to you. The drinks were overpriced and not made correctly. My martini was $14.00 and it wasn't what I ordered. The band was loud to the point you couldn't have a conversation if you tried. The pool area is small and gets over crowded quickly, not relaxing at all. We ordered room service, while getting ready for a wedding...it took them an hour and 15 mins to bring up chicken strips...my husband is a chef and I know how long it takes to make chicken strips. We called down to vallet to get our car ready...they had a 20 minute head start. Once we got downstairs they had no idea we had called down...had to wait another 20 mins for the car. We asked the front desk about the trolley, she couldn't answer our question on when it would be back or not and she acted bothered that we were even asking. the hotel is beautiful not worth the headache of all the small things that shouldn't go wrong. It's been a long time since i have had such bad service.

I found out about this place when I went to Studio Movie Grille, they showed an advertisement of this hotel, it's GORGEOUS! I love this hotel, I wish I could live here. The hotel is conveniently located not by the dreaded 610 but near I-10 & Beltway 8, nearby Memorial City Mall. They do have valet parking, but while I'd love to valet, my boyfriend refuses, so we just park in the nearby garage after all it's free. We used to take the stairs leading to the 2nd floor for check-in, but there's actually an elevator around the side. Thank you valet for showing us. My boyfriend is grateful since he no longer has to lug up my over packed suitcase. The check-in is a breeze, no complaints here. The moment you step outside the elevator is gorgeous. It's designed in this black and white print. The rooms are so nice. I've hooked up my netbook to the flat screen television to watch my dramas, my boyfriend supplied the chord. The room is supplied with robes and slippers, or perhaps you ask for slippers. I forget. I've called room service a couple of times, I got different pillows since the 1st time I ended up sleeping on the purple couch. The floor is hard and smooth. The place is spotless and clean. There's a mini-fridge but it's supplied with drinks and what not. The bed was comfortable and probably the best sleep I've had in awhile. My boyfriend had to pry me out of bed, I never wanted to leave. The shower has no door, I thought that was kind of weird but it goes with the theme of it's modern concept. They provide fresh clean towels. They have a silver ice bucket and provide a set of 2 cups. This was quite helpful since we ordered in from Pizza Hut. I love the couch and the chair inside the room. There is a pool, I believe but I've never gotten to visit since I always forget to pack a swimsuit. They serve breakfast and provide wake-up calls. I make sure to never miss the breakfast. They offer free wi-fi and never had problems there either. They have an excellent selection of foods for breakfast, and it's nice to sit outside if you can, a gorgeous view of the places surrounding the hotel. I love this hotel and I look forward to going back to visit. If I didn't live in Houston, I'd probably visit this place more often~ I read there were complaints about the noise level. I stayed here on Fridays & Saturday nights and I've never heard anything outside of my room or even the knock on the door from room service.

We were given a corner room with a view. It gave us a view of the front and a view of the pool on the side. The decor was simple and modern. What a great room! There was plenty of room for my boyfriend and I. The shower was interesting...no door. I asked my boyfriend if it was a mistake. lol...I can be a little odd at times. The hard wood floors were nice. The closet was huge...bigger than any hotel closet I've seen. I would definitely stay here again.

holy texas, this is one of the nicest hotels i've ever stayed in (room-wise).

the aesthetics: clean lines, visually pleasing

the customer service: they bring you whatever you want if you call them. we had takeout and they brought us utensils to our room in like 5 seconds!

FREE breakfast: and its not a wimpy breakfast. they have nice tea, will make you a 3 espresso cappuccino, and all the fruit you want.

just go. i'm happy this is opening in houston, because this is one of the few things it has going for it!

I inquired about booking one of the penthouse suites for a special night in June. They told me that I could only book 30 days prior to the date that I am planning to stay there. So just so that I could get an idea of the rate, I asked the agent about the availability for three weeks out (Feb 11th), she told me they were booked solid. This was understandable being that its the weekend before Valentine's Day. So I asked about the following week, those date were also unavailable and suggested that I get on a waiting list. This is ludicrous! Who makes travel plans 30 days before their trip. I'm sure it is a nice hotel but I will be taking my business elsewhere!

The hotel has a very contemporary and chic ambiance and decor. The rooms are big and spacious..with a soft bed and lovely bedding and pillows. There is a complimentary breakfast included (which you don't see with nice hotels these days). The Mona Lisa bar in the hotel is a nice lounge to grab a drink at. The location is great and in City Centre, so you can walk around without having to move your car, whether it's to eat dinner, grab coffee, watch a movie, or go dancing. The only negative thing I saw was that the pool is TINY and seems more of a decorative thing than a practical useable amenity. Because the pool is located right outside the Mona Lisa bar, the pool closes at 8pm and you have to worry about gaukers drinking at the bar. Overall, a great stay!

My wife have been coming here (mona lisa) for awhile and have notice over the past few months the clientele as changed, and not for the better.  If they don't change they will not make it.  From ready some of the reviews posted there is nowonder this place is going down hill. What up scale hotel rents rooms by the single night?

If you call the phone number shown at Yelp onlne, you will get a call center in Central America. It is for many businesses, but if you are patient and ask them to look up for you the Sorella Hotel Houston phone number they will do so.
I went to the Mona Lisa Lounge on the second floor to listen to a band I like that was there for one night.
If you like Houston friendliness and Southern charm, you will not find it at Sorella. This is a franchise place and there is no owner present. Service depends on who happens to be working when you are there.
Parking is by valet and if you don't like to use valet, you will have to park in the parking garage and walk. There is no security in the parking garage that I could see that night, and that is dangerous in Houston.

Parking (especially designated handicapped) could be improved on, and the staff were slow to collect items left outside the door, a champagne bucket and flutes were there when we arrived, and still sitting there when we checked out. These are minor issues. It's not the Four Seasons, but for the money you get a very nice room, interesting bathroom and the staff are very friendly. The pool area is gorgeous. I expect we will stay there again.

Great style for a new Houston hotel. I have dark wood floors at home, and I love the dark floors of the hotel rooms. Instead of typically "boxy" rooms, the many diagonal lines/walls make the public spaces visually refreshing and interesting. As a Mac owner, I love that they have an iMac available for public use in the lounge.

Great pool which has been well designed to have cooling airflow across the deck. The bar (Mona Lisa), and Curtis, The Bar Dude, are two very good reasons to visit. I'll be back - it's just been open for 12 days.

It's a little convoluted to get there coming off I-10 from downtown and easier if you are driving north from Beltway 8. My only less than complimentary comment is about the valet / bellhop: "drop the Dallas attitude already - you're a bellhop."

So my last memory of Town and Country Mall is a run-down, miserable-looking mall.

Fast forward what must be 10+ years later. Wow, this area is completely transformed. Absolutely amazing. I do like gentrification.

I have not stayed in this hotel, but it looks fantastic. I did however go to the bar Mona Lisa. So here's my review of the bar. It is an upscale bar where drinks are about 11 dollars for a Makers Mark as an example. Higher than most of the bars I visit in Austin. There is a mix in the crowd, but on average it tends to be older (30s+). There appears to be a mix of people that actually have money and wannabes that live off credit -- you can imagine this place as Dallas or Plano. This would be a great place to wear my "open cougar season" shirt. The bar itself is very nice with a real full bar. There is a fireplace in the middle and I believe the pool area opens up when the bar is full. There appears to be bands that play routinely with the previous visit being a country band.

I like this place and think I'll visit it again...

I just stayed here for two nights, in town for a book launch. The author -- a friend and a local -- recommended this spot and I'm glad she did. I know very little about Houston -- have been to the city only once before -- and was here to hang out with the people who were also supporting the book and to kick back with my friends.

This place was the perfect base. Gorgeous inside and out, pleasant but not grossly overattentive staff, beautiful breakfast included, very clean and comfortable room, and easy pedestrian access to food and shopping made it a perfect spot for our purposes this weekend.

The outside patios are beautiful. I sat outside on the 2nd floor for an entire morning getting work done in the sunshine, which was nice since I came from a 40 degree-Maryland. We could also step right outside our hotel and eat outdoors at Ruggle's Green restaurant, go to Strait's for Singaporean food and Coyote Anaya's for Mexican (very good as well) or hit the Yard House for one of the many, many beers on tap.

My only issues were the significantly higher Thursday night rate (229 as opposed to 159 for the other nights -- seems if you're clearly not a business traveler they could make it more equitable, but I love it here in Fantasyland) and the noise on the square from late-night crowds and an early morning Santa Claus soundcheck. (That's a small detail -- price you pay for the very nice location.)

I had several Houston residents comment that they knew very little about this Town & Country neighborhood. I thought it was nice -- perfect anyway for a two-day getaway. I'd go back, definitely.

So I was VERY surprised when I found out that "City Centre" even existed. Town & Country is no longer the burned out West Houston relic of the swingin 70's... HOW things have changed!

My friends and I stayed at Hotel Sorella for a friend's bachelorette party. The hotel is new and super swanky. The decor is simple, modern and gorgeous. My favorite features inside the hotel room: the dark hardwood floors, the "rain" shower and the free wi-fi.

The hotel is situated around a variety of restaurants. I was very surprised by the hip bars and restaurant inside hotel... dinner and drinks at The Straits was fantastic. I could go on and on about how fabulous the service was but I'll save for their own review.

My only beef was with the Mona Lisa bar. First... a beautifully lit swimming pool with a bunch of drunk people (who might be tempted to jump in + an uptight security guard) does not mix and second... a really cool fire pit with a bunch of drunk people doesn't mix either. Alcohol and fire, dynamite, moving vehicles, water, old boyfriend telephone numbers, etc, etc are usually a bad combo...

Oh... and my other little gripe, the hotel's free parking garage is shared with the shopping complex and a movie theater which is fine but in the morning I woke up hoping no one broke into my car. I guess that could happen in a hotel-only parking garage as well but it seems the chances are somewhat more increased since it's shared.

Okay, back to positive qualities about the hotel... the hotel staff will do just about anything for you. At 2am someone got us Whataburger and when I checked out the doorman walked me to my car in the parking garage. What a nice guy! So in conclusion... it's hip and their grand opening specials are awesome. If you need a little getaway in town or need to recommend a place to relatives over the holiday season, Hotel Sorella is the place.

This review is for the Hotel Sorella Red Oak Ballroom New Years Eve Event 2011. I would like to express my disappointment in this event. I purchased "VIP" tickets for $125. There were no Hor D'Oeuvres, no countdown to midnight nor any complimentary champagne as promised in the advertisement. The biggest disappointment was waiting ONE HOUR to get a drink that I had already paid for. There were far to few bartenders and many people, including myself, had trouble getting the ten drinks they prepaid for. I would not recommend attending such a poorly planned event.

Style over substance. Form over function. This is a 3.5 star rating for this "East Meets West" hotel that initially I had high hopes for.

-0.5 star: Valet. Upon original check in at the hotel, we decided to just park on the adjacent parking garage, as it wasn't too far of a walk, it was fairly early,  & we were taking our 3-day weekend at a slow pace. However, the Valentine & I had already decided that after coming back from dinner to meet friends at the adjacent bars, we would definitely valet as parking would be a hassle later on in the evening. In doing so, we encountered the laziest, most sloth-like valet service in the entire western hemisphere. There were about 5 of them standing around, even as the cars lined up and people were obviously attempting to grab their attention to valet. This again occurred the next day. No excuse for this.

-1.0 star: As I've originally stated, the hotel could get by with it's looks, but there were several mishaps on functionality that occurred that eventually accumulated to taking away a star. First, I'd like to say that, yes, the hotel room is beautifully and comfortably appointed--no complaints there. However, upon "living" in this space for the weekend, we encountered several problems: 1) the sink wouldn't drain on the first use , the TV wouldn't turn on --- to their credit, someone was sent up within 30 minutes. 2) paper-thin walls: let's just say we heard a lot of SMUSHING that weekend. It's a great thing that the person I was with had great sense of humor, and that we didn't let someone doing the "loud-nasty" ruin our weekend. 3) the open-shower: they needed to extend the glass doors just a wee bit further. Water got everywhere on the floor outside the glass doors. I've seen this open-type decor before, and it fails every time. 4) speaking of the bathroom, no place to hang several used towels except for the one IN the toilet area?

For a hotel that's fairly new, I expected it to hold up better than it did. With those above points being stated, however, I would still return & stay again for a weekend getaway for these reasons: great area to stay in for coffee at Cafe Rose, dinner at Bistro Alex, lounging at Monnalisa, bar scene (and great food) at Straits, sushi at Ra, burgers at Yard House, & even catch a movie at Studio Movie Grill.

And lastly, I would return because nothing beats having a fantastic time at the lounge and bars with your friends, and NOT having to drive home inebriated. Going up? Why yes, bellhop.

What? A person from Houston that STAYED at Hotel Sorella? That's right! Thanks to the wonderful bf, I got to stay a night at Hotel Sorella for Valentine's weekend.

I love trendy hotels. Hotel Sorella is as trendy as you can get in Houston too! It has a contemporary Miami vibe, with the decor being mostly warm tones. Although there is a huge parking garage adjacent to it, hotel guests can valet for free. Check-in was a breeze and we were escorted up to our room with our bell hop who carried our bags for us. (p.s. - I hate when bell hops bring my bags 10+ min later after I'm already situated in my room, so it was nice that he walked with us).

The hallways have a cool black and white wallpaper that's very visually stimulating on the eyes. All the room doors are a deep espresso brown. When you enter, the room is about a standard hotel size. What I liked about it is that it had both hardwood and carpet flooring in the room. But besides just that, the fixtures are beautiful. All the furniture is espresso brown wood. The bed is topped with crisp white linens. There's a comfy chenille covered couch in the sitting area and a flat screen TV with cable channels. Oh, and free wifi too!

The only small disappointment was the bathroom. It's a gorgeous bathroom, no doubt, with a good amount of counter space. I only wish the bathroom was bigger so there could be a tub or tub/shower combination in it. They only had a standing shower (no door too).

What also impressed me was the free breakfast they offer everyday from 6-10am. You don't typically see this at nicer hotels, especially on weekends! They had a buffet of fresh fruit, pastries, juice, coffee (including cappuccino and espresso), yogurt, and cereal.

I would definitely recommend Hotel Sorella to anyone coming to visit Houston as well as locals who are looking for a place to have a bachelorette or birthday party. There's also tons to eat and do right in City Centre for out of towners who want to minimize driving.

Gorgeous hotel! I stay here everytime I'm in Houston for work and I love it. It's a new hotel that looks very stylish and modern. The dark wood and white furnishings look classy and clean. I love that kind of look. The bathrooms and rooms are always clean. The staff goes out of their way to help you (like at 5am when I'm trying to catch a taxi asap to take me to the airport).

They have good restaurants on the bottom level and the pool area is awesome! I don't know if they throw pool parties with DJs for the summer but I would love to go if they do! And if they don't... start it! Don't forget that idea came from Marian B. ;P

Great rooms, great location, great staff.

The only thing that was sub-par about this hotel was its  parking garage. On the positive side, self-parking was free...which is becoming more and more of a rare thing these days. The bad side, however, was that their parking garage can be a crowded, aggressive death trap. On busy weekend nights, getting your car in and out of this structure can be somewhat of a time-consuming challenge. I can only assume that this will only get worse as the rest of the shops & restaurants in this area open up. This is one of the few situations where I strongly recommend valet parking.

As a side note, we did have something odd occur during the last night of our stay. At about 2:00am, my wife's blow dryer turned on by itself. No joke. When I got up to turn it off, the physical switch on it had been somehow moved to the "Low" position. Not sure if there was something paranormal going on, but if anyone wants to check it out for their own, stay in room 727 for a couple nights and get back to me.

Five stars for the facilities, the staff, and the food -- the rooms are very comfortably furnished, the sheets are amazing, it actually has pretty nice views, and all the food I've tried at in the restaurant in the hotel has been very good.  I've stayed here frequently for business and the staff is always very courteous and friendly, and often greets me by name (good for their yelp review, sad for my life).

I'm taking a one star deduction because of a couple downsides -- room service stops at 9pm, which seems kind of ridiculous to me.  Also, this place turns into a club on the weekends.  The rooms facing CityCentre (particularly the ones on the lower floors) become extremely noisy on Thursday-Saturday night.  And there have been multiple occasions where there have been drunk people running up and down the halls of my room screaming at 3am.  Not great if you have to get up for work at 8am.

This place is overrated! I spoke with a young lady about what I expected on my stay at setting my reservation. It was for my husband's birthday these people could care less! I really don't like when people take your hard earned money for granted($300 plus to be exact). For  this occasion I requested a  higher floor and a good view. I was sent to a room on a lower floor smelled of smoke, dirty room, horrible view, and everything to the eye was worn and scratched and most linens were dingy! The restroom smelled stale and the shower floors looked questionable. I was hoping for a nice neat chic room for the occasion. On top of that they placed me in a room adjoined  to another!! How romantic! After I got my composure I called and requested a change asap! I was then sent to a floor that smelled fresh upon stepping off elevator and the room appeared to be at another hotel! Sad my experience started off that way. Lastly on my list is the fact that they charge your card on arrival for a set amount and then charge you again on your final bill. Dum I  think but be prepared to have a pre-authorized charge and a final bill!  Valet is an additional charge not complimentary. I almost forgot to mention... to get some orange juice it took for us to go down to the front office to remind them we had been waiting 30 mins for it. Nice concept poor delivery!

We had our first "weekend" in city centre this past weekend.  We had a night at the Hotel and checked in around 4.  We were going to hang by the pool but of course it rained all weekend.  The pool area is cool, it is small but right next to the bar.  I liked that we could self park very close in the garage.  We went to the draft house downstairs and had a couple of beers before changing for dinner.  The hotel is spotless, rooms are modern and hip.  I would compare it to a "W" theme.  Nice shower, bed, bath and super quiet.  I did not hear one elevator or door slam when we were in the room.
The hotel bar has a fire pit.  I thought this was very odd in the middle of July in Houston but it must be a hit because we made several friends hanging out before we went to eat.  We walked over to Flemings to split a steak and the fact that everything is SO close is awesome.  We stopped for a night cap in the downstairs lounge.  It wasnt until the next morning that I realized I had made the rookie mistake of not getting my credit card-BUT I HAD SOMEONE ELSES that had been returned to me by the bartender.  I called and they did have it but that was a little scary.  I give it a strong recommend.

The hotel is generally outstanding.  Great customer service, clean rooms, very well managed property. As a traveler who spends 100 plus nights a year in hotels, the Hotel Sorella is very well managed. Curtis the bar tender is exceptional.  The cooling system in the room created a couple of zones, one in front of the vent where it was cold and another around the bed where it was uncomfortably warm. This shouldn't happen in a small relatively new hotel.  We had breakfast in the  restaurant on Sunday morning where the food quality, taste and presentation were very good and the service was about average.  We will probably try this hotel again.

We stayed at Hotel Sorella and absolutely loved it! The bed is super comfy and the amenities were wonderful!!!

There is free parking located right next to the hotel with a walkway on the 2nd floor that leads you right to the lobby to check in or lounge. They also have complimentary breakfast which consisted of yummy fresh fruit, muffins, bagels, and expressos served by their friendly staff.

The view from our room was breathtaking (faced the City Centre courtyard) and we could see the Houston downtown skyline as well. The only thing that we didn't care for was the half door in the shower area in the bathroom. It made it hard to prevent water from splashing on the floor when showering, but laying down a towel helps solve this minor issue.

Other than that, we loved Hotel Sorella and would absolutely stay there again!

Great place! Great price! and gave us a FREE upgrade for it being my husbands birthday!  I told them it was my husbands birthday when I made the reservation. She made a note and not only did we get upgraded, after we had checked into the room and left for an hour we came back to a chocolate piece of cake with Happy Birthday written on the plate in chocolate with raspberries sitting on the dresser. Very pretty and no charge!

Beautiful and CLEAN hotel inside the room, lobby, lounge, and even awesome decor in the hallways. I got a discount price for paying full cost when I booked with no refunds available. Before we left and took the free shuttle over to the mall area we very much enjoyed the lounge and I had a great drink. I had their custom "blackberry martini" The lounge overlooks a small pool with cabanas and had a huge indoor fireplace/pit which they lit up later that night while a band played. I'm not a fan of the genre specifically but they were talented and we jammed a little bit. I have to say I saw a review talking about diversity at this lounge but their was plenty of diversity and actually it was mostly Caucasians if I was counting. Which I wasn't. Quit paying attention to the color of everyone's skin and enjoy the colors in the lit up pool and view of the citycentre from the balcony. We took some pictures and the people were friendly and took some of the hubby and I as well. I wish we could have gotten a spot in one of the cabanas just for a minute though.
Don't bother with the valet as their was plenty of parking in the afternoon on the 3rd floor in the parking garage. They have an entrance to the hotel lobby right there.

The hotel is modern but not really comfortable. Parking is free in both garages, but there is also valet.  Wifi is free and the hotel is in a GREAT area.  Lots of restaurants, bars, shopping, etc. within walking distance.

I love luxury hotels.  I have stayed in many around the country.  Hotel Sorella is just a-okay.  It is clean, modern and has the comforts you would expect.  BUT there is no beautiful lobby, there is no front door - you enter from the side once you figure it out.  As far as luxury, luxe goes it is just okay.  Not a disappointment but not grand.

This place is beautiful and modern looking. When we checked it with the very friendly and nice front desk staff, we walked up to our room and was amazed at how beautiful even the hallways and elevators were! When we walked in to our room, we were blown away by the sleek and modern decor. Our room looked out into the CityCentre courtyard, which made for some great people watching. The bathroomw was modern and beautiful with an awesome rainfall shower head.

After unpacking, we decided to go downstairs to the bar for some drinks. This was my favorite part of the whole night. We found some lounge chairs by the pool and enjoyed people watching and the atmosphere.

When we got back to the room, we were hanging out on the couch, and I dropped my earring under the couch. When I went to retrieve it, I also find some girls NASTY DIRTY THONG! Totally grossed out. I should've called the manager, but I decided to let it go, since everything else was OK.

Attn: Cleaning staff....cleaning means UNDER and between the couches as well!!

The free breakfast in the morning was awesome. There was a HUGE bowl of fresh cut up fruit..fresh juice, cereal and milk. YUM.

Other than that "suprise" we had a great time and will come back again!

The front desk staff was extremely professional and helpful. Our room was amazing and had an excellent view of the square downstairs. I wish the free breakfast was a bit more exciting but at least it was better that La Quinta. There were some pastries and fruit and that was about it.

Big Ups to the Hotel Sorella CityCentre!!!
My hubby decided to surprise me on August 31st this year with a night on the town following an Astros game. What a treat!! I loved every second I spent staying here.

Good - The location is right in the center of a great restaurant and bar scene (call it Plano Junior)  perfect if you don't want to drive anywhere after eating and enjoying libations.  The entire hotel's decor is hip and not what you would expect in suburbia. I absolutely love the style of the rooms and think they did a terrific job with the aesthetics! The beds a super comfy and the bathrooms are well appointed.

Bad- Ok not really bad because I really appreciate having a free breakfast and it's not something you find at all nicer hotels these days---- I just wish they had eggs or meat at breakfast even if we needed to pay for it because when you are hung-over--- fruit and carbs don't cut it.  The pool area while reminiscent of high end Las Vegas pools with their cabanas and nice furnishings isn't too large and there were tons a kids swimming and making noise. Not very relaxing after a night on the town.

Ugly- Nothing to report yet. This place rocks!

We just recently stayed at this hotel and were so so pleased with our time here. The location is great.  There are tons of great restaurants and nice shops all within walking distance.  I wish that we would have had more time (and better weather!) to enjoy the area a bit more.

They've done a lovely job with the decor.  Everything from the chandeliers throughout, to the patterns on the walls, and even the headboard of the bed flow together so well.  It's super stylish and mod without being uncomfortable.  That's a fine line to me.  My husband enjoyed the bar area with some co-workers and said it was nice.

Our room had a lovely view of a courtyard and the shopping down below. We really loved our room.  It was plenty spacious for just us two and really cozy.  Once I got into the fluffy bed, I really did not want to get out.  I actually took a nap as soon as we arrived.  That's how comfortable the bed is!  I always enjoy a good hotel bathroom...I guess it's that side of me that loves pampering.  It's on the smaller side, but done very well.

The complimentary breakfast was very nice, but all sweet.  There were a multitude of fresh fruit choices, cereals, yogurts, pastries, coffee, hot teas, and juices.  It was a nice light start to our day.

Tried to set up a block of rooms for my wedding in Houston. The guy said yes to our weekend and then when we told him there was an event in Houston he said that he would have to honor the first response and they would keep the block of rooms.

A few days later we received an email from them saying they could not honor their word.

MORAL OF THE STORY: If you're blocking rooms for a wedding, get it from them in writing before you leave the place, their word means absolutely nothing.

I was so excited to find out I was going to stay in Hotel Sorella for a business function. I live in the area and am frequently shopping/dining in City Center and Town and Country. This hotel definitely did not disappoint! There were some issues with the room reservation (as in, they lost mine) but they fixed it quickly and I still got a nice king sized room for checking in around 7pm. The hotel has a very sleek, professional hotspot vibe, and fits into City Center well. The rooms are spacious with a nice bathroom. The hotel also had a free continental breakfast in the morning - although I did not eat there. The only downsides to my stay were 1) the construction going on next door during the day and 2) I am not a fan of the "rain shower" shower head... these things definitely weren't invented for women as we have to do awkward limbo moves to not get our hair wet! A few colleagues also stayed on a lower level floor and said they could hear partying from the bar downstairs until about 1am.

I still rated this hotel as a 5 because my complaints are minor and it is a very nice hotel. I would love to come back during the summer and enjoy the pool deck!

I absolutely love the interior decor and the entire vibe. I also Love the live band on a Saturday night, playing really great classics. However, on this particular Saturday night, almost 90% of the crowd of African American. Of course that didn't bother me, but a little bit more diversity would be cool too.

Beautiful hotel in the middle of Houston. Unfortunately it was so loud that we were not able to sleep. It's great for going out partying in Houston but not for a good night's sleep.  I was very disappointed with this hotel. The complimentary breakfast was great but not good enough to overshadow the cold shower and lack of sleep due to noise.

Recently stayed the weekend here for something a little more special than my usual priceline since it was my boyfriends birthday.  We stayed Friday-Sunday, and it was just as good as the last time.  Easy check in, comfy bedding, great black out shades, and they upgraded us upon arrival.  We also got a decent rate by booking directly through the hotel under my AAA rate, so I was happy.  The hotel is swanky, classy, and very modern.  if you like the W, you will fall in love with this place.  FREE (WHAAA?) parking in the adjacent garage, and FREE Wi-Fi!  Also FREE contiental breakfast in the mornings, and free newspaper.  You are also walking distance to the movies, lots of bars, and some great dining establishments.  Great location, one of my top 10 hotels in Texas.

Plus it's a COMPLETELY NON smoking hotel--LOVE THAT

After all of the problems I had with this hotel on my initial stay back in March, I am thoroughly impressed with Hotel Sorella.

Management offered my a complimentary stay in light of the issues I had initially. I stayed here again the weekend on Aug 7th and it was spectacular. My complimentary stayed included a corner suite along with a bottle of champange. Hotel manager left a nice hand written note in my room that basically said, we hope to exceed your expectations this time and I must say that I was very happy. Sorella goes a long way to make sure customers of happy. Bravo! I would stay here again! Thanks Ryan and Hotel Sorella!

Beautiful venue, poor service. My fiancé & I were planning to have our wedding and reception at Hotel Sorella. I left several messages for the wedding/event coordinator to call me back & she never did. Finally one day I was able to get a hold of her, she was very dry & short with me. She did not give me an overall description of what would be included for our big day. I had to pull info out of her. She said she would send me the menu for catering & I never received it. My budget is 100,000 & I was ready to have the wedding of my dreams at Hotel Sorella but if the service was that bad in the beginning I definitely didn't want to risk having my wedding there. Thank God for Hotel ZaZa.

My husband and I live in West Houston and decided to take a staycation. We love citycentre but hate dealing with the drive and the parking in order to enjoy the area. It was perfect! The hotel was beautiful and the easy access to citycentre was great. We were able to check the events calendar and plan our weekend. We parked in the free garage right next to the walkway to Hotel Sorella and our truck stayed parked all weekend while we enjoyed all the shopping, dining and live music. It was chilly, but we didn't even have to put on our coats to walk through the hotel and enjoy the live music and nice crowd at the Monnalisa bar after a perfect dinner at Bistro Alex. We got up and returned to Bistro Alex on Sunday morning where we enjoyed a wonderful live performance by a jazz duo while eating a delicious brunch sipping $3 mimosas. Very classy, very comfortable. We will be returning.

We booked a suite at the Hotel Sorella - to celebrate my husbands birthday, but also as a mini-vacation. I have to say one of the most disappointing experiences.

I'll start with the good feedback though. It is a really beautiful hotel. I love the decor and actually plan to add some of the design techniques to my own house.  Our suite was very spacious and the view was spectacular! We also got a complimentary breakfast every morning and the food was delicious and exceptional coffee.

Now with the negatives...when you sign up they actually have a rule that you can't bring outside alcohol into the hotel. WHAT? When ever did hotels have that as a rule? I've never heard of it...maybe its a new thing, but I don't like it!! Okay hotel...sure I won't be bringing liquor in, but quit making your drinks so crazy expensive!!

In addition...they lost my car. Yeah...LOST my car!! Okay...maybe the car keys, but still. We went down to the valet area (impromptu...no ticket because we just wanted to get our jackets out of the car) and no keys in the key holder thingy. So we went back upstairs to get the valet slip and they still couldn't find the keys. Someone went in and verified that my car was there, but they didn't know where the keys were. After waiting there for probably half an hour we decided to leave our number with the valet guy and walk around. We got a call after about an hour that they now have the keys. The valet from the night before (when we dropped off the car) had put them in his pocket and went home for the night. I will admit the guys working valet were all very friendly and polite. It's just frustrating that that happened.

Another miss...thin walls. On a Saturday at 2:30AM we could hear our neighbors coming to their room, all about their hilarious evening (mostly what we heard was some horrible woman's high pitched laughter). Still for such a nice hotel you think they would have better sound proofing.

All in all...for an expensive upscale hotel, I was not impressed. I've stayed at their sister hotel, Hotel Valencia in San Antonio and has such an amazing experience I was very suprised this hotel didn't live up.

Can I possibly like a hotel that doesn't issue award points?  I never thought the answer would be a resounding yes!  Hotel Sorella is AWESOME!

    What do I like?
    1.  The bed is AWESOME!  I love the Westin b/c of their heavenly beds.  Let me tell you, the Sorella bed is even better.
    2.  Strong in room Wi-Fi (Free, too)  (Strong in the lobby too.)
    3.  Modern rooms -- a little spartan in decor, but super clean.  No goofy hanging pictures (in fact, no pictures at all); hardwood floors; muted hallway carpet
    4.  Breakfast -- complimentary:  fresh fruit, great coffee, espresso, pastries, yogurt, cereal, ... all good.
    5.  Balcony Patio -- over looks the quad in City Centre.
    6.  Pool / Bar
    7.  GREAT Customer Service

Funny thing is, Hotel Sorella provides so much more than the Marriott that I've been staying at AND it's cheaper!!!

Nice place for sure.  Beds are comfy.  Rooms are a little dark, but attractive.  Basically this place reminds me of W Hotels without the eurotech music. My one complaint is that they refer to their gym as a fitness center.  When I asked if they had a gym, the person on the phone said, "we have a fitness center."  Now, I don't know about you, but that term conjures up a nice well equipped facility.  What a crock. The fitness center is literally a guest room on level 3 with an upright bike. Two mediocre ellipticals, two treadmills, and a small floor mat and weight rack.  All jammed together in a single room.  This is not a fitness center.  It smells like BO.  Several people came and left without working out because all of the equipment was taken. Complementary continental breakfast is nice.  Lobby is nice.  Fitness center = FAIL.

My company does an annual conference for new hires where they bring people from all of the far-flung offices (like Scotland!) for a few days of presentations and networking where we meet SVPs of business units, etc. Since our corporate offices are in Houston the company decided to use the Hotel Sorella for the fifty or so conference attendees and the Sorella meeting rooms for the conference. So I got to spend four days in an incredibly nice hotel in the middle of CityCentre.

The hotel rooms are spacious and well decorated, none of the standard tacky hotel room paintings. They have hard wood floors, clean lines from the bed frame and desk, a very comfortable bed, and a nice, large LCD tv. Bathrooms are equally nice with a great design and a huge shower stall, although I do wish the stall had a door. But I adapted to that pretty quickly.

Hotel amenities include wifi, a very nice restaurant and bar, pool, patio and deck area, and breakfast. Breakfast isn't your usual hotel continental breakfast. This one is actually several large platters of fresh fruit and just one small tray of pastries. It's nice to see fresh fruit promoted over danishes. i still ate the danishes, of course. Drinks include the standard water, coffee, tea, etc. but also included fresh orange and apple juice, plus a cappuccino machine!

Overall it was a great stay in Hotel Sorella and I'd certainly consider getting a room next time I visit Houston (provided it's near where I'm going, of course).

I only went to the Mona Lisa Bar so I can't speak on the hotel itself.
The bar is quite large with a fire pit on the inside opening out to a deck with a (teeny) pool and cabanas.  the live music was nice. People were hard core booed up on the patio, at the relatively cheap hotel sorella rates they should have gotten a room!

Word to the wise: My drinks are never watered down because when I go to bars like this (read:trendy, popluar, with mood lighting) usually order (insert hard liquor of choice ie ciroc) on the rocks or beer so that I know I am getting the most bang for my buck. They usually pour more liquor that way to fill up the glass a bit.

My husband and I have had a great time at Hotel Sorella. We let the staff know that we were recent newly-weds, and they upgraded our room. We were also pleasantly surprised to receive a bottle of champagne as a congratulatory gift. We actually liked the room better than the room we splurged on for our wedding night. It was impeccably clean, open and modern.

Everyone was extremely helpful. Every staff member from the bell-hop, front staff and housekeeping was impressive, kind and professional. You get a sense that they go out of their way because they want to, not because it is their job. At the pool, Tatiana made sure that I had constant ice-cold water, and brought a refreshing shrimp ceviche from the bistro that was delicious.

All in all, we had a great time, and plan on coming back.

OK, second stay in three days and I like it. The staff are very pleasant and helpful, but there are a couple of things that keep it from being a 5 for me: You are striving to be higher end and a bit hip, but you close your restaurant at 10p.m. - I do not get that. Beyond that is there is NO food service after 10? So, no room service (there is no menu in the room anyway, but come on.) and no restaurant, but there are others outside around City Centre. I get it, but I don't.
Still like it a lot, just, well just sayin'.

This a very pretty, chic hotel in the Houston City Centre area. The overall look of the hotel and guestrooms are very pleasing and comfortable.  However I have to give them a low rating because the rooms are not soundproof AT ALL. We had a very early morning and got no sleep due to the people walking the halls and yelling all night long. I would have expected better from a hotel that charges $300 and up a night. Also water in shower takes a really long time to get hot. The complimentary fruit breakfast was nice but I was too tired to really appreciate it. If you're looking for a good night's sleep, stay somewhere with thicker doors.

"OK, since I made the reservations I get to stay at the hotel the night before the wedding," said H with a hopeful look on his face. After I stopped laughing I explained that it is usually the bride that gets to enjoy the hotel suite. Surprisingly he accepted this rather quickly (he's learning to choose his battles).

The hotel is located in the hub of the new CityCentre. The staff is wonderful and very accomodating. It took H only 2 calls to hash out our reservations and block out some rooms for our out of town guests. When changes were necessary, they were resolved immediately.

The day before the Big Day arrived and I headed to the hotel. Check in was a breeze and I was in the suite within 15 minutes. The room was beautiful! Modern furniture, wood floors in a dark brown. The bed was luscious with crisp white linens. The bathroom, while being a bit small was gorgeous with nice toiletries. On the table an artistically arranged cheese tray awaited with a bottle of wine and a very nice note from the manager.

After an wonderfully awesome night's sleep (yes the beds are incredibly comfortable!), I enjoyed the free breakfast buffet which included pastries, fresh fruit, cold cereal, coffee, tea & juices. For those who like a heartier breakfast I advise going elsewhere. The seating area is more lounge like with a few tables. It was a great place to meet up with everyone and enjoy some quiet time before the chaos of the day started. The bellhop showed up at the time I specified to pick up the many things going in the limo for me, including my dress. It was nerve-racking letting an unknown person take custody of my dress but that angst was unnecessary as they took wonderful care of everything. When the limo arrived, they made sure everything was safely placed inside.

We stayed the night of our wedding and was greeted with many well wishes walking to the elevator. The management provided another cheese sampler and bottle of wine.

Hotel Sorella ensured we had a wonderful experience. Beautiful hotel, fantastic rooms and wonderful service = 5 stars.

For a boutique hotel, I expected a lot more. The lobby and public areas are amazing and contemporary, but the rooms are lacking in many departments. The rug covering most of the room has significant wear and tear, and the stool was noticeably chipped. The mattress was also in bad shape too, with almost no integrity to it. The breakfast was pretty mediocre - offering the yoplait yogurt you can buy at walmart for 30 cents and assorted fruits.

Now factors I can't hold against them but that you should consider - there's construction going on next door for A&M's business school, so expect some interesting odors and loud noises throughout the day. Also, the traffic inside city centre to get to the valet or the garage itself is horrendous at ANY time of day.

In short, for this price, I'll stay at the Westin or Embassy Suites down the road for a more comfortable stay and so I can at least accumulate points at a national chain.

This review is ONLY about their conference center.
Very expensive - $1000 to rent a projector. And the people at the hotel were haughty. Had a hard time getting directions to the rooms, and got misdirected. When I asked the young thing at the desk about getting lunch from the restaurant, she stared slack-jawed, flung her hair around and finally said..." Um...I can give you the phone number for catering."
I went next door to Ruggles.

I have never stayed at Hotel Sorella, so this review is based solely on my experience with their customer service. My now-husband and I really wanted to have our reception at the Monnalisa Bar which is adjacent to and owned by the Hotel. They were SO unaccommodating!

The Bar is such a cool spot, and we wanted to have our ceremony out in the green space of the CityCentre (those folks were so willing to work with us!) and then have our party at the Bar upstairs overlooking the green space. We wanted to get married on a Sunday evening in February (not a busy time of the year for outdoor bars...), and the events coordinator refused to close the Bar for our party, even if we paid for it. The only option they gave us was a "special deal" for their ballroom for $20,000. Special deal? I don't think so. We just wanted drinks and appetizers for 3 hours for ~100 people. Not possible.

I was really disappointed that they were unwilling to think outside the box with us. I didn't think we were asking for a lot.

We took our money elsewhere and haven't been back since.

We love Hotel Sorella and have always been treated very well upon our arrival. We make it a custom to stay at least once a month and specifically on the last Sat of the month when they have live music located in the court yard. We normally get a suite which provides more than enough room and faces the court yard.

The only negative to getting a room which faces the court yard is the noise that travels up the building from the lively crowd. There is a nice restaurant inside called the Bistro which is part of the Brenan's chain.

Prior to writing my review I read other reviews which had lower than 3 stars and I must say my experience has been far different. However, if I spent my hard money and received less than ideal service I would be just as harsh.

My wife and I stayed here over a weekend and were really happy with the location right in Citycentre. Everything you could possibly want is within walking distance including an incredible gym, great bars and restaurants, frozen yogurt, shopping and much more. T

he hotel itself is posh and definitely nicer than your run of the mill Marriott. The breakfast area is a little bizarre with too many couches and not enough chairs. Great fresh fruit selection for complimentary breakfast. The rooms are clean and really the only tricky part is self-parking your car and finding your way out of a confusing parking garage to get back to your hotel.

HOtel Sorella. What happened. Where did it all go wrong? You seem so cool and chic pulling up into CityCenter. Like an urban retreat in a great little walking area. Your entrance is grand, you valet is slow and unprofessional , its exactly what I would expect from something almost in the suburbs. Everything looks great at a glance, shiny, boutiquey, glass, colors all the right mix to catch your eye.....that is until you really look!

Staff---nothing special , about like checking in to any courtyard--well no courtyard has pretty nice outgoing service. Maybe like checking in to a Hampton Inn , they get you checked in but they dont make you "feel " great about staying there. I was expecting more personal service.

Room-- Seemed a little dated, or hasnt worn well and was not exactly clean, not gross but there are some rooms I check into and just want to get naked it feels so clean.

Food-- Breakfast/ coffee seemed like no effort was put into it, like an afterthought or obligation more than an amenity . BISTRO looked nice but again. nothing wow

Overall for the price I was underwhelmed. Its a nice business hotel and a poor luxury or  upscale hotel.

Just know what you are signing up for

We had an offsite team-building event here for two days in one of the Penthouse rooms.  BEAUTIFUL!!  For $750/day, it was really worth it.  There were floor to ceiling windows - tons of natural light.  The decor of the hotel and the room are very modern.  It reminded me of our hotel in Madrid.

Kary, the catering director is wonderful to work with.  I was so happy she recommended this Penthouse to us.  We were able to fit 11 people very comfortably.  She catered to all of our needs.

The location was great for our out-of-town consultant as well.  She loved all of the shopping nearby and variety of restaurants.

Stayed here with my wife for my birthday. We had a city view room. Room was nice and it was clean.....but to me for the price it was lacking that Wow factor. Only has a shower, no tub to soak in.  I drive a dually truck and the valet service complained about the size of my vehicle.

The location is nice and there's lots of things to do and places to eat within walking distance.

    Checkin was smooth and friendly.

It's a nice stay but I've been better impressed with a lesser price tag.  Just my personnel opinion.

I normally stay at the JW Marriott but I decided to hotel it closer to the office. A colleague suggested Hotel Sorella located in City Center and I was pleased with the accommodations!!! First off, the valet staff was pleasant and prompt, however it's a bit tight once you pull up. There are taxis lined up and cars parked near the valet. My advise is to wait until you get the attention of an attendant before exiting the vehicle. I headed up to check in on the 2nd floor, Melissa helped me that evening. Room service ended at 10pm so I had about 20 minutes to order. The meal was delicious by the way. My room was on the 9th floor, modern design, sleek and stunning views of the Houston skyline. Floor to ceiling windows with a front to wait to the active courtyard which folks enjoyed late into the evening. I couldn't ask for a better view!!! The hotel is in the middle of various restaurants, shopping and leisure activities, convenience at your finger tips. It felt like Fairfax Corner which I enjoy very much. One thing that could be improved, the air conditioning unit click on and off and was quite loud. Not sure if that was something to be adjusted but as a light sleeper, it annoyed me. Other than that, the staff was amazing, the decor is sleek and modern and it's in a great location! Will be back soon.

Stayed one night for Valentines Day. Great location and atmosphere. I have been to 4-5 star hotels and I have to say this hotel does not live up to it's name. Valet needs more training on how to make a guest feel like they are arriving at a 5 star hotel. No one opened the door upon arrival. For the amount of the hotel there should have been signs of romance in the air. There was no indication of V-Day even in the room. No soft music playing in the lobby. They could have at least had little candies or rose petals in the room. There was no shower cap with the toiletries, no newspaper at the door for morning reading, and no check out receipt under the door. Simple things like this will make an impression with the guest.

I started the review by only giving them 4 stars and then realized there really was no reason to not give them 5 stars.  I was in town for a friends wedding and this is where they happened to choose the room block although the wedding was not at the hotel but rather the Royal Oaks Country Club which was absolutely beautiful.  When you arrive to the hotel you'll notice it's location is absolutely incredible as it is surrounded by bars, restaurants, shops, cafes, open areas to let kids run and play, sit and chat, you name and the surrounding areas has it!  If you're in town without a car, this is probably one of the best locations you can pick to be completely honest with you!  From the second we arrived, Mohammed the bell hop that helped us to our room was very pleasant and was happy to accommodate our request of dropping off our bags in three separate rooms.  The front desk check in process was smooth, easy and hassle free.  The rooms are modern and welcoming rather than the standard dry feeling you get at a hotel.  These are rather inviting and more homey than most hotels I've stayed in.  Service was great and they were happy to deliver sodas and ice upon request to the grooms room.  With the amount of rooms we had it would have been a nice touch to comp the sodas but unfortunately they charged us and it was not that cheap.  Mona Lisa the bar on the lobby floor was a ton of fun at night and it had a great energy to it.  We did not try the breakfast or any food at the hotel for that matter to be honest... there are just so many options around you're easily enticed to get out there and try something else!  All in all great hotel, fantastic location and excellent service.  My first time at a Sorella property and won't be my last!

I do really like this hotel, and the area that it is located in but this time the service was so annoying at each and every turn I'm seriously considering staying somewhere else next time in town.

I always stay in the penthouse suite, with the 1 1/2 bath so if guests come they dont have to trapse thru the bedroom to use the bathroom .This time upon check in I walked into a 1 bed 1 bath. Called to the front desk and said there must have been a mix up and was told that's the biggest suite they have besides the presidential at $1800 per nightl. I said no, I know what I reserved, at $750 a night it's a 1 1/2, $699  a night is the 1/1. She CONTINUES to argue with me until I finally say look, I'll just take it but I want a difference in the rate refunded to me , at that time she put me on hold , comes back to the line and says, oh the other penthouse is being cleaned (so it does exist!)but if you come back down and wait we'll get you in . Gosh thanks for finally doing your job.

But does it end there ...no?! Two hours later I come back, is it ready? NO, ok, I'll go have a drink. Hour more later, is it ready ? NO. Sorry. Really?! Back to the bar, day shift is leaving and new bartender (Curtis) hears my story and immediately gets a suit (The GM) involved. WOW, within half an hour, here's the GM shaking my hand (what a charming man he is!)  and a bellhop stating my luggage is in my room, and BTW let me buy you a drink for the inconvenience. That helped a lot!

Even had a bottle of wine brought to my room, which was my VVP guest perk I was to get after my first stay, but got it on my 5th, oh well, was glad to see it arrive anyway!.

BUT, then we have customer service, Leslie, a nice enough girl with well played out rhetoric.. who really, if told me one more time "sorry for the inconvenience..anything else" in that condensating voice of here's I would have hunted her down and choked her.

Ordered bottled water, "well you do know that will be a c harge?" Grrrr...ok. Call for shuttle, "we dont go there" Yes you do, it's 1.5 miles aways and you trafvel up to 5. "Oh you're right I'll call the driver" go down and see driver who says "Thats too far ..we can't go there" Give him the address, I'll have to look that up. I just gave it to you, yes but I don't know where it is. IT'S A STREET NUMBER FIGURE IT OUT...know what..never mind! Can I get an english muffin instead of toast with breakfast? No, it comes with wheat or white. BUT I can get it with no toast and pay for a side of muffin. Gee..thanks!

9Am Monday morning, awoken to the sound of construction in the room DIRECTLY above me. Like  a jackahmmer, loud as loud can be. Really cant even drown it out with the TV. Call down and talk to condensating Leslie, who again states, you got it. "sorry for the inconvenience...is there anything else I can do for you"

    Can I answer that honestly?!

Between the rolling eyes at front desk, the loud drunks coming off the elevators, the constant arguing over each and every little service issue, I'm pretty sure next time I'll spend my $750 a night elsewhere!

Very rude employees, I have never, ever been offended by this staff like I was before. Seriously the worst. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Jeff is a terrible night manager. I asked for help with the fact my room was not clean (when I had just check in) and he told me it was my problem. Not his. I think that sums it up. AWFUL PLACE!

Upscale hotel. Loved the room, staff, breakfast and the location. Bar is great and has awesome happy hour from 4-7 pm. Try the Monalisa!!

But the City Centre courtyard can be frustratingly loud for the rooms facing it. Stayed Friday night, band started playing at 6 pm and still blaring past midnight. Here for a conference and had to be up early. So that was annoying. Not the hotel's fault but a warning.

This is the second time I have stayed at the hotel. This last time, I had a gift certificate and the person at the reservations desk was less than honest regarding availability. I asked to speak to a manager, who immediately apologized, let me know a room was available for my desired night, and then proceeded to upgrade me for my trouble. When I got to the room a few weeks later, I learned they had upgraded us to one of the penthouse suites! The room was fantastic - Viking appliances, balcony, river rock shower, tub, king sized bed, and incredibly comfortable living room. We had plans to wander the area but enjoyed our room and view so much that we stayed in. The staff and valet service gave me no trouble at check in and even threw in the valet for free. The breakfast was simple but tasty - yogurt, fruit, cereal and pastries.

Any suggestions I have are nitpicking - we had two guests listed and one robe; it would be nice if there was an organic yogurt and/or granola; and housekeeping continually knocked before checkout.

Overall, it was a fantastic experience and we will be back!

It was our anniversary, I called and made a reservation for the night, and the lady asked if we were celebrating anything special, I said yes our anniversary, and that I would like a bottle of champage in the room before we arrive. The lady said ok I will "annotate" this in the note for you sir.

Arriving to the hotel, parking is horrible in this place, and when I asked the valet where is self park, he told me I probably wouldn't find a spot, almost making me valet for $21, which should be free since there IS NO PARKING & I'm already paying a "resort" fee.... and the fact you have about 5,6 people standing at the valet, some of them looked like there personal friends just waiting to get into a "nice ride".... worried me.

We checked in no problem, arrived in our room to, NO CHAMPAGNE! I was looking forward to surprising my lady on our special day, but it was really sad that they couldn't accommodate my special request.

We had dinner reservations, so had to go quickly, didn't have time to complain, soon as we got back around midnight, there was champagne in the room, we were so stuffed & full of wine already we didn't even touch it, what a shame.

I've stayed here once in the past, right when it opened, it was fresh, smelt good, everything was spotless & clean... now a year later the 4 star hotel looks like management/maintenance gave up. Our room smelled of a party, and there were scuff marks ALL OVER our walls, I took a few photos that I will post. Even pulled a few hairs off the mattress head board.

We tried to stop in the hotel bar when we came back, but unfortunately same as last time it was closed for a  "private party" and was loud and fully packed with locals. I would think a 4 star hotel bar wouldn't have outsiders in, I would have drank there, but the fact that it's always full of id say lower class people standing around not drinking acting like their "cool"... kind of screws us $200/night paying customers out of the entire deal.

I even had to call front desk at 3am to tell them someone was having a party and some non-hotel quests were knocking on MY door and others and running off in the middle of the night.

    Pros:
    Good breakfast
    Good coffee
    Great restaurant Bistro
    Cool interior

    Cons:
    NO PARKING
    Valet Fee of $21
    Can't meet special requests
Hotel is full of non-guests roaming around
Most confusing entrance, place to get too.

I would never stay at this hotel again, and I'd say 4 star is waste.

Steer clear on a Saturday at least. Kept awake past 2 am from the clubbing music and drunken voices below. Then just before 8 am loud equipment starts outside. My group tried to go to the Monnalisa Bar in the hotel and were asked to leave because some of the ladies brought in coffee from our shopping. The whole point of City Center is to walk, shop, eat and stay. Apparently the businesses here didn't get the memo. It's trying to be a boutique hotel but it's nothing special. We told the staff during checkout that it was very noisy. They said sorry and that City Center is busy on a Saturday night. Then followed with the next time you stay we will put you on the freeway side because freeway noise is better. Um we won't becoming back ever and the fact that they say the other side is noisy as well does not give me a lot of confidence in getting a good night sleep there.

We booked a room for New years eve.Checkin was a little shackey but staff remedied the problem. Our room was nice and overlooked the plaza for the fireworks.Once in the room noticed no pictures hanging on the walls which in the room a first for me.The location of the hotel was nice to all the restaurants and shops and we took advantage of that at least four different restaurants we dined. The lobby was hopping for the New years activities we met alot of interesting people and enjoyed the acoustic band playing songs reminiscent of the gypsy kings. We enjoyed our stay for the New years celebration.

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. While my room was humongous and upscale, the gym and breakfast were tiny and poor. I would totally recommend the pool for an after-party.

Upon arrival checked in at 1430. Walked to our room,  room keep flashed yellow red lights, went back to front desk, re tried card key no flashing lights. Called hotel operator.  Locksmith took 10 minutes to open the door, another 8 minutes from inside to fix the lock. While waiting we checked our room. Broken pieces of glass were on the bathroom floor and near bedside. Called to front desk and they offered us another room. Guest relations came to escort us up to our new room and she would relay message to hotel manager.

Unimpressed.  I am disappointed that this hotel charges such a high price and skips on so many luxury details.  The air conditioning unit when turning on and off sounded like a door slamming in the room.  The water never got hot, just slightly warm.  The bed had deep indentions and the pillow were not comfortable.  I was hoping and expecting a quiet, goods nights sleep here but was sorely disappointed.  The positives are the cool interior design, large windows, and great views of Houston.  I wish this hotel had a few more selling points besides location to justify the price.

Great hotel in a great area! I've stayed here a couple times and I'm never disappointed. It is well taken care of and the rooms are very clean. I especially like the way it is decorated. It has black and white wallpaper throughout the building and green accents elsewhere.

The pool area is especially cool. It is directly above the Yardhouse restaurant and overlooks the green below. It is a perfect spot to sit in the sun and people watch. The pool is a bit tiny. Put a few kids in their and there really isn't much more space. I love that they have a few covered areas that allow you to lay out of the sun but still enjoy the pool.

The biggest selling factor for this hotel is the location. You can stay here for the weekend and never need to get in a car. There are shops, restaurants, and bars all within walking distance.

Last weekend, I attended and worked the Houston Texas Tattoo Extravaganza and was given the pleasure of staying at the Sorella Hotel for the last night of my visit. The convention was a success, so all I wanted to do was relax and hotel sorella7lay in a comfortable bed after sitting hunchbacked for ten hours per day for the last three days. I Map Quest the hotel address and luckily it was close to the convention, so that was the first plus, especially because it was pouring rain.

I arrive at the hotel or what appears to be the hotel and there are signs everywhere! Signs leading to shops and restaurants everywhere, but where the hell is the Sorella? My boyfriend, Henry, starts panicking wondering where the heck to turn for the hotel because we just entered a high-class shopping center/high-rise/hotel square that looks like it was literally just built yesterday. It was strangely deserted too, so I thought to myself, "This sure is a nice place to have no one around," but then I remembered it was close to midnight on a Sunday, which had everything to do with it.

We finally found the valet at the Sorella and were relieved that it looked like a great place to stay. It was pouring rain, so we left our car with the friendly valet attendants and walked into the entrance. We had to go into an elevator before arriving in the lobby, which seemed different, but cool. They require a key to operate the elevator after a certain time, so no hooligans can get in.

We walk into the lobby and immediately notice the killer mod decor, including a really decorative wall pattern that grabbed my attention right away. The front desk was incredible too, it was made out of square pieces of black glass with an ivory top. Okay, I might be completely wrong about what it was made out of, but damn, it was awesome!

We were immediately greeted and checked into our room by the super friendly clerk, who upgraded us at the last-minute to a "suite," which was a cool surprise. Check in was absolutely effortless, unlike a lot of hotel experiences I've had, so we made our way up to our room in no time! As you exit the elevator, you are spit out into this clockwork orange looking mod hallway that looks absolutely KILLER!

The Hotel Sorella definitely caters to a higher end clientele and spares no expense on decorating. We get to our room and are immediately shocked at how big it is. (That's what she said.) All kidding aside, this room was rad. There was a full sectional, king sized bed, mini fridge, and all amenities that you could possibly ask for. First, I sat on the couch and thought it was the most comfortable couch I had sat on in a while, then moved to the bed and thought the bed was even better! This was a win/win. Usually, you have some crappy chair in the corner of your hotel room to sit on if you're lucky but not at the Hotel Sorella!

The bathroom was so clean you could eat off of the floor. Complete with all the basics like bar soap, facial soap, shampoo and conditioner. The shower was perfect and the nights sleep I got in the massive King bed was, quite possibly, the best nights sleep I've had in.... EVER!

The clerk at the desk made sure to stress how important getting breakfast at the Hotel Sorella is, so I made sure I was up in time for this so-called "free continental breakfast." I'll admit, it was difficult to pry my booty off this amazing bed, but if there's one thing I love more than sleep, its food! We made our way downstairs to eat and upon entering the breakfast room, I see copious amounts of perfectly cut melons, berries, pineapple and other perfectly in season fruits. The breakfast consisted primarily of yogurt, various melons, berries, other fruits, juices, bagels and your typical continental breakfast stuff, but the quality was exceptional. It was just enough to get us going for the day and get full too. The Sorella also offers a hot breakfast menu you can choose from; including delicious omelettes and other breakfast favorites, but the continental breakfast was awesome on it's own.

So far this has been a marvelous experience. The breakfast area was beautifully decorated too, and looked as though we stepped into a 60's time warp with a modern twist. Everything about our stay was great and I would highly recommend the Hotel Sorella to a friend or family member if they are willing to fork over the expense. It's a beautiful and unique hotel. The absolute ONLY negative thing about this place would have to be the yuppie vibe of the retail area it is wedged into but hey, a lot of people are into that!

I personally love to support local businesses and funky businesses, and this is definitely not your cookie cutter hotel. The Hotel Sorella is unique, classy, and funky all at the same time. I loved it and would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat.

I recently stayed here for two nights while attending my friend's wedding. The hotel has an urban luxe vibe, really focusing on textures and just-right appointments to convey the sense of luxury without being stuffy at all.

All the staff members I interacted with were somehow young and handsome (the one sweet receptionist we worked most with I swear was Kristen Stewart's twin), but more importantly were impeccable in their service. The room was comfortably appointed. The continental breakfast was generous and delicious. It more than met all my expectations.

The hotel is in this planned community/upscale pedestrian mall development and is right off of one of the gazillion freeways, so getting TO the hotel from the freeway proved a challenge every gosh darned time, even with GPS. Maybe a local would have an easier time navigating.

Saturday night was hopping at the property. The bar has a live band and all the restaurants surrounding the hotel were jammed. There is free parking in the adjacent parking structure...just be prepared to have some competition for a spot on a Saturday.
