Nice room, comfortable king bed with fluffy duvet. However I was awakened at 1:45 am by noisy neighbor's TV. Finally complaining to the front desk at 2 am, they sent security then moved ME to the other end of the hall. I won't stay here again if given a choice.

Basing this review as someone looking to stay by the airport before flying out...
What sold me is that parking and shuttle to the airport are free...so it was way worth it to me to park my car here in a covered garage for 3 weeks for the price of a stay, which was only $69...
As a platinum marriott rewards member, my breakfast was also free...very basic marriott, but decent gym and a nice indoor/outdoor pool...not much in the way of dining nearby as its in a corporate office environment and the in-hotel restaurant is pub grub...

Stayed here a while back when I didn't live here to stay near the airport before I flew out.  This really isn't a 3 star hotel, and I am starting to wonder who makes these ratings.   Arrived in the evening, and significant other and I had booked on priceline for about $60 which isn't too bad, but I guess with all the travel and priceline usage I am starting to get spoiled.  We had called beforehand becuase we weren't sure of where we were going, and spoke to someone that English was OBVIOUSLY was not her first language, then she didn't finish telling us directions and hung up on me! We found it thanks to my trusty GPS ap, and checked in.  The room was NOTHING to write home about, Waaaaay old, Old old TV, and OLD OLD looking bathroom.  Think brown cabinetry.  The only saving grace to this place is the amenities.  I am not sure why they spent so much money on the gym, work out and cardio areas, and indoor outdoor pools and didn't spend any money on the rooms.  baffling.  Wont stay here again unless its SUPER DUPER cheap.

The rooms are nice, but that's about it here.  You have to pay $13 just for wifi.  The rooms don't have fridges and they only have 12 portable ones for the ENTIRE hotel.   The hotel restaurant has decent food but WAAAAAAY overpriced...$15 for an average hamburger....no thanks.  The hotel staff are rude as well.

This hotel gets three stars based on the ridiculousness of having a $13 PER DAY charge for internet..this is insane, considering every Motel 8 from Humble to Galveston (TX) offers free internet..that said, the hotel was undergoing construction (to its restaurant) while we were there..yet the lobby and all common areas were spotless, and the staff were all responsive, very friendly, and professional (& that's all worth a lot these days!).

The rooms were clean (though I noticed the cleaning staff didn't notice details like the toliet that was running, or didn't vacuum during daily cleanings), and the furnishings were nice..The rooms contained no fridges, which seemed odd, but had the basics: a hairdryer, coffee. The bathroom was small and dated with no fan - but otherwise, the rooms were nice.

The location isn't within walking distance of much of anything, but the hotel does have a shuttle service (I think mostly to and fro the airport, which is about a 10 min. drive)..

Worth it if you can get an inexpensive rate, and if you don't mind paying for the internet (or your company is paying :)

This hotel was wonderful.  The only negative was the extra charge for internet, which can ruin your stay.

Just a side note, the hotel restaurant has wonderful food that someone in the kitchen can be very proud of.  I ate there every night for a week.

I had the worst customer service before, during and after my stay at Houston Marriott North.  My company's travel group made my reservation for a work trip.  At first we were told that we had to stay a minimum of 3 nights.  However, the manager said she would waive this requirement and allow the one night stay.  But they ended up pre-charging my card for the full 3 nights.  I didn't notice that until I was checking in at which time they told me there was nothing they could do about it. Afterwards we tried calling and speaking to the original person that agreed to waive the 3 nights but she had no recollection of the conversation.  Not to mention, they screwed up my invoice and a couple days after I got back I got hit with another fee.  They said it was due to a mix up in the first charge!

The staff here were completely unresponsive.  They didn't even pretend to try to understand my situation.  If you are staying at the Houston Marriott North, be sure you get any quotes in writing.  In the end I still ended up paying 3 nights for my one night stay.  

The only reason I gave this place 2 stars is because the room was clean.

I was going to give the hotel 1-star based on the ridiculous $13 internet (only free WiFi in the lobby?!) but....

... they made every effort to return something that I had foolishly forgotten in the room.  (I blame the rescheduled, ridiculously early Continental flight!)  One phone call by me and two friendly return calls later, arrangements were made to ship the item back by the time I landed.  Their effort is well appreciated and deserves the bump in star rating.

For those staying here on airline vouchers from missed/delayed flights, the free hotel shuttle requires you to call for a late night pickup.  The hotel bar/restaurant is open late and reasonably priced, so the dinner+breakfast vouchers is enough for an entree and drinky drinky.  The earliest morning shuttle is at 5:35, and with the Continental/United ticket runaround and ridiculous security lines, I barely made my 7:30 flight, so plan accordingly

This place has really really really bad customer service, shuttle service, and house keeping.

They do not clean the rooms, just look under the cover to find other people's hair on the sheets.

If you call the front desk the night before to order a taxi for a day later, no one keeps record and they lie telling you a taxi will be there in five minutes, yet you end up waiting 40 minutes.

The front desk manager has an absolute nasty attitude.

The shuttle driver also is extremely disrespectful and full of attitude.
He yelled at me because he assumed everyone was going to the same terminal in the airport, without asking us, and after I told him half of us were going to a different terminal he started shouting.

Disgusting place.

My flight got delayed and missed a connection so we got stuck at this hotel for the night. Very nice hotel aesthetically, BUT this review is for the restaurant, which is THE absolute worst restaurant I've ever seen.. I was amazed to see this at a Marriott but it was understaffed all around, tables left unclean for a very long time, no one to seat you or take orders... We were told by waitress to order at the bar if we want to get food fast, which ended up being 2 hours. So when we got the food, the blue cheese dip for wings was in CHUNKS. And the ground beef for the nachos was a giant ball in the middle. I  seriously have never seen something worse. Not that I'm angry about it because I'm on vacation after all, but I'm almost amused by how horribly run a restaurant can be in a Marriott.

The second day, we went back for lunch because it is the only option available without a car and this time there were no one else.  We were the only patrons.  Everything was actually alright, both food and service wise, but still.  A restaurant should not only deliver on basic services only when there is one table to serve in the restaurant!

I have stayed here 4 times and it is my preferred Marriott in the area.

It is in a convenient location to freeways but little shopping or restaurants worth going to.  I don't care about that personally.

The exterior is not promising, but as soon as you enter you see a BEAUTIFULLY remodeled lobby.  I have stayed over 600 Marriott nights and this is really in the 20% in terms of design and style.  And it extends into the room as well.

When I think of Marriott I think of the same sheets, carpet, lamps, and furniture in every single hotel.  It's a bit suffocating when you travel a lot.  For whatever reason they went all out on this hotel.  Beautiful lamps, furniture, mirrors, etc.  It's so delightful.

I am Marriott Elite so Wifi is always free for me.  Parking is free for everyone.  My corporate rate is AMAZING - you might want to call as my travel booking site didn't reflect it.

The Texas Junior Chamber held its Summer Convention at this hotel and it was a huge success!  The event staff were very helpful and accommodating for every step--contract, setting up the event, checking-in and billing.  The event had about 100 attendees who enjoyed the property and its convenient location. The only thing I would improve is the food, which was good, but still banquet food.  Since we were not looking to pay top shelf prices, we got a good meal on a budget.  I am confident had we been willing to pay the meal would have been outstanding.

We were delayed 12 hours coming from Florida to SFO, so United ended up putting us up here for the night. Thank GOD they did. This hotel was so nice and, while it wasn't able to negate a poor experience with United, it made for a restful night's sleep in spite of everything. The hotel is beautiful and incredibly clean. We didn't spend much time here, but I would recommend any stranded travelers take the free shuttle over from IAH for a little R&R.

I'm writing this review tucked into my king-sized bed right now with the A/C blasting... Houston, you've never felt so comfortable!

When I travel for pleasure, I like really nice hotels. As luxurious as I can afford, anyway! But when I travel for work, I just need somewhere to rest my weary head. And if I can cut my budgeted hotel cost by more than half, why not? Easy-peasy traveler does have a few requests, though. Soft pillows for the stomach sleeper and a medium-firm mattress, thank you very much. A powerful blowdryer (what can I say, I'm thick-tressed). And room service that goes beyond 10 pm.

This Marriott is a bit off the airport path to be truly considered in the vicinity (according to Priceline), but no complaints as they offer a free shuttle. And, check this: Priceline accepted my offer of $52 for one night. That's a motel price!

Back to the basics: the bath amenities are Bath & Body (decent), the blowdryer is a ceramic 1875-watt (score), the pillows consist of an assortment of soft, medium AND firm (thanks for not making assumptions!) and the room service runs 'til midnight.

And my mattress.... excuse me as I sink into my medium-firm sleep vehicle. Lights out, sweet dreams Houston.

Nice Marriott here. Attractive lobby bar. 15 min drive west of IAH airport. Nice rooms. No  food places nearby you can walk to easily. There is a restaurant in the lobby, and a number of small restaurants nearby in this Greenspoint area. Room card required in elevator to access hotel floors, a good security practice. Popular location; reserve in advance. Mr. C shines shoes in the lobby in the morning.

Have you ever rode the terminator 2 ride at universal studios Hollywood? Back in 1994 I bet that ride was sweet. Now it's old, dated, and costs as much as the brand new state of the art transformers ride.

That's how I feel about the Houston Marriott North. The lobby and restaurant are renovated but the rooms and upper floors are very dated. If you don't agree, just turn on the tv. The safety video that plays on a loop is easily from 1994. I've seen this mentioned in other posts but I had to touch on it too. The wifi costs 12.95 a day!! I dont think I would have believed it had I not stayed there myself. They messed up my reservation. I reserved a king, and got 2 doubles. Staff couldn't help me, they said that's all was available. I wouldn't say they were rude, but I certainly wouldn't call them helpful.

It's close to the airport and does offer shuttle service. The rooms are just clean enough to be adequate, nothing special.

I love Houston but the greens point area is getting left behind, downtown and galleria are much nicer areas. If you want to stay in greens point, stay at the Hyatt, it's a stones throw from the Marriott. Hyatt is the same price!

Why ride the terminator 2 when the transformer ride costs the same price.

The shuttle picks up on the half hour pretty literally with exact time at C and then somewhat off cycle to A and B concourses. It's also a white van with a scrolling marquee at the last window so you should look carefully or you'll be waiting for much longer!

The Marriott North just recently pumped $10 mil into their establishment and it shows. The rooms are plush and modern with green and brown tones and brand new furnishings. Not dingy at all in my opinion, and I'm a woman so I am more particular. We even stumbled upon the young and overdressed prom goers which noise wise didn't affect our stay.

I still maintain that they should change the bath products. That orange ginger crap smells like cleaning solution! Psst, take a hint from the Hyatt. Also wireless should not cost 13 dolla every day.

The fan of the AC is loud!! They recommend putting it on low and you really should if you have problems staying asleep.

Otherwise I'm loving this renovated Marriott. Ahhh!

Great lobby! Free Internet while I wait for my clients... Staff is very friendly and ask... The rooms where very clean, it's the one thing that can turn me off from a place. It got a 4 out of 5 only because there was either a call or a buzzer that went off... other than that great place to crash for the night...

Next time I'll make time for the pool and the gym!

This marriott is about 15-30 mins from the airport, depending on traffic. There is a free shuttle; check with the front desk for departure times. The shuttle is shared with Hilton, so sometimes it can be quite full.

Hotel itself has a concierge lounge which is on the 9th floor. My room wasn't huge, but was very nice. There isn't much around other than industrial parks, so you will need a car if you want to eat someplace else. This place seems dominated by business travelers, which makes sense given the location.

I'm writing this in the middle of the night since the "quiet room" I requested has turned out to be anything but that.  The freeway noise is channeled directly into the room via the wall mount air conditioning unit. I never realized just how many tricks and Harley's cruise the freeways at night. At least there are earplugs in the drawer.

No wonder the guy who checked me in seemed uneasy when I asked for a "quiet" room.  Thanks for the warning.

Booked this hotel last minute because it's close to the George bush intercontinental airport. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Room was simple, clean, and elegantly decorated. I would stay here again in the future if needed.

Nice updated hotel with comfortable clean rooms.

30 minute wait for hotel shuttle to pick us up from the airport.
No rooms ready when we arrived for our check-in time that has been set for a month.
Asked for complimentary breakfast while we waited nearly half an hour - no bueno.
Room key needed to access floors from elevator.  (Unsafe neighborhood)
Room key didn't work.
Hotel staff entered my room without knocking approximately 2 hours after check-in.  Do not disturb was on the door.
It took 3 front desk employees almost 10 minutes to give me a working room key.  (I'm guessing they have a pretty high turnover rate for employees)

Don't venture to the nearby mall.  There is a reason most stores have abandoned it and the police station sits in the same complex as the mall.  It is a matter of time before someone is put in a compromising position by the surrounding neighborhood sketchiness.

I was put up in this hotel after my inbound flight delays caused me to miss all flights out on 01/04/2015.  The hotel is nicely decorated, front end staff friendly and courteous.  Now the complaint:  My flight on 01/05/2015 did not leave until 235pm, giving myself a comfortable 2.5 hours before and complying with the 1200pm checkout time is where the complaint lies,  I asked the front desk to notify house keeping of my intentions to check out at 1200pm,  but due to their LOUD, Ungodly, wall rocking cleaning techniques I checked out early just to get some peace a quiet.  I believe the Houston Texans practice quieter then these cleaning dinosaurs.  Ladies if your life is miserable there might be a reason "KARMA"!

I was stuck staying here for five weeks for work, and the staff did an excellent job of making myself and my coworkers all feel at home. I needed to have packages sent to the hotel, and though I had some issues receiving them, Angel at the front desk did an excellent job of recovering from that. Carla and Maria at the DEN restaurant always went the extra mile to make our group feel appreciated. I can't say I could ask for better service here.

The rooms are very nice and staff is friendly. But the earplugs in the drawer are there for a reason. You can clearly hear the freeway and the walls are thin enough to hear the people in the next room talking clearly.

First time i stayed here, about 3 weeks ago, service was great! Got an upgrade, the people were great. This time around, for starters, I waited over an hour for a shuttle from the airport. They kept on filling up the shuttle and were unable to accommodate any other people. Mind you, I found this out by calling the hotel, they never let me know this. They also refused to reverse the route in the airport bc 'that's just how the shuttle route is.' So be prepared if you fly into terminal A or B because the wait may be quite substantial. I ended up paying for a cab. When I got in, already stressed, the front desk people were just plain rude. I'm not paying for a pricier hotel for employees who can't treat their guests properly! And today the maids didn't clean well either. Same sheets, poorly made bed compared to when i arrived the first day.

This is my first visit ever at a Marriott property.  I'm more of a Wyndham property kinda guy, but decided that I wanted to change it up a bit.  I had originally booked a room at the Wingate by Wyndham, but when I went on Hotels.com and noticed that I could get a better room for about $3 more that night, I quickly booked my reservation.  Upon arrival I checked into my room with a nice gentleman (whose name I do not remember).  I absolutely love the decor in the hotel; has a very trendy look to it.  My room was AMAZING!!! The room was super clean, smelled fresh and the bed was so comfortable!!! I don't think that I have ever slept so well in a hotel bed!!!  Marriott you have won me over!!!!

Great service from a wonderful staff and the quality rooms you'd expect from Marriott.  There's also a lot of focus on security, including a 24 guard tootling around the parking lot in a golf cart.  It should be a solid 4 stars, but past reviewers have focused a lot on the shuttle service.

I spend a lot of nights at this Marriott. My choice to stay here was initially driven by which hotels my client had rates for. Later, I continued to stay here because of the level of service and personal attention.

For example, it only took one stay before some of the staff had already taken the time to remember my name!  I was caught completely off guard checking in for my second week, when I was greeted with "Welcome Back, Mr. K" before I even got to the desk. How cool is that :-)

There's a Marriott version of Starbucks (not as cool as a full corporate store like many other locations, but it works). And a bar restaurant called Den. The prices are typical overpriced hotel food, but the meals are tasty. I especially like that I can get an omelet for dinner (comes with fries which turns out to be a good pairing).

The rooms are pretty much cookie cutter rooms from any full service Marriott. The bed doesn't have a pillow top, like some others, but is still quite comfy and toasty warm. I'm writing this review from under the comforter, and the nest of pillows and covers is so nice that I don't want to get up and leave for work :-)

The concierge room is also pretty much standard to any other full service. It's the same format as the other three properties I've stayed at in Houston. Here you will find a quiet lady named Tina who picks up after the guests and makes sure the food is out and as tasty as it can be. She's focused on taking care of her elite guests. I do like the cappuccino machine :-)

The workout rooms are really nice. There's a bank of elliptical and treadmills in one room, and weight machines and free weights in another. Pretty much anything you need on a trip to keep up your routine. The pool is an indoor/outdoor affair, where you can swim under the stars and watch the steam come off you on a cold winter Texas night, and swim back through the plastic curtain to the large indoor side. It'd be great for kids or parties :-)

I don't use the shuttle, but I see it there and ready most times I walk out the door. I'm sure it's shared with other properties. The bellman is always standing in the lobby, and greats me as I come and go, so I'm sure he can help work out shuttle issues.

My ONLY complaint is that no one in the hotel can jump start a car. Ugh!  Got caught by a rental car who's automatic lights didn't automatically shut off like they did every other night that week... The hotel should invest in a $20 set of cables. I can't complain really, because I see this all the time. I taught my kids to always have an emergency kit in your car. That's not as prevalent in drivers or hotels as you might think.

People say this area isn't safe at night. Well, none of the gas stations have bullet proof glass around the counter. I simply find the area quite empty after about 9:00. The hotel itself is focused on security, so I have never felt I wasn't safe.

In all, it's a nice property. I'd stay here frequently...oh wait, I AM staying here frequently :-). So I vote with my dollar, but I also give it 5 stars to bump up that average and give this hotel its proper due.
