Pleasant stay.  Spacious rooms w/a small kitchen. Clean, contemporary style.  Budget friendly, friendly service, & a sustainable breakfast buffet.  Overall, it gave me a good impression of this chain of hotels & I'd stay at another in a heartbeat.

Recently I spent 4 nights here while my significant other was in town while I was moving. For NYE we had stayed at the hilton downtown, and then moved over to the Hyatt galleria. I didn't expect much being we got a fantastic rate on priceline, but I was pleasantly surprised. it was clean, very cozy and super cute. It has a little kitchen, full fridge, flat screen, soft king size bed and nice L shaped couch that we used to watch movies. Also we were able to run to redbox and get some DVDs. Hot water, big closet and safe. Also, free breakfast every morning which turned out to be pretty darn good. Seattle's best coffee, bagels, eggs with salsa, and french toast along with a ton of other stuff. Believe it or not, I enjoyed this place much better than the way more swanky hilton downtown. Would DEFINATELY stay here again!

Was in town this week on business, and this place was the most reasonable hotel within a short distance from the customer site.  Stayed here 5 nights, 5-16 to 5-21

Upon checkin, I was told it was $10/night for parking, which my company travel site said was free.  When I received the bill, no charge for parking.  Nicely done!

The suite room was a decent size.  Interesting job with the two short doors for the bedroom door, since that was the only way the massive king size bed would fit.

Bathroom was decently sized, and included the closet.  Enjoyed the two flat panel TV's, although only the living room had the local channels in HD.  For the price paid, all the channels should have been in HD.

Didn't get to try the breakfast or the evening snack/drinks due to being busy (although I may try the breakfast this morning...will update entry if I do).

Parking is in a secure parking garage attached to the hotel  Nice!  Watch out when pulling into the garage, too close and the gate will hit your car.

Great location!

I recommend this place.

My girlfriend and I often go into Houston and stay the night to check out the social scene, usually staying downtown or at different places depending on where we gonna party that night. This last weekend we stayed here and were both pleasantly suprised. The place was large, very clean, well lit and well maintained. The rooms were very studio apartment like an very comfortable.  The customer service here is OUTSTANDING! All of the desk clerks we dealt with were very very freindly and helpful, even the food and cleaning staff always had a big smile and a freindly gesture if they saw you. For the price we highly recommend this place either for a quick getaway for the night or for a long stay.

Had booked this room as it stated non-smoking, needed to stay here for 3 nights prior to closing on a new home, I had specifically requested a non-smoking room, it was not.   Highly allergic to smoke, yep begged to get into a doc and am taking RX, that cost $200.  Due to checking in late had no time to unlug my luggage and find another place, but the next morning promptly checked out and the manager stated that he could tell I was sick he would comp the bill, never gave me a receipt but he ran the charge through anyway.  Certainly hope when I call tomorrow that they do what they say and comp the room.

Unfortunately I don't do business with folks that misrepresent the fact a room is not non-smoking, then tell you they won't charge you to make you sick and then they do, now I have to call them and get that settled, what a waste of energy and health.

My phone call with manager states that it will take 3 to 5 days to get the credit back to my VISA, now I have a staph infection on my foot and the doctor states that probably the hotel I stayed in someone with a staph infection either touched the sheet or the sheets were not fresh and I picked up the staph infection off either a dirty sheet or a dirty towel.  

Staph infection is not something to fool around with, am a germaphobe, and surprised that 25% of all people have staph and never know it, purrell drips from my handbag, how is the fun going to end, it gets in your blood stream and just kills you and then you die, hotels will have less customers.

Convenient location, more reasonable price in the Galleria neighborhood, friendly staff, and comfortable rooms.  The garage parking is nice and connected to the hotel on the floor you are staying on.  The complimentary breakfast is always nice too!

This is an older hotel (I believe Summer Suites) and has been remodeled. You can tell the rooms are older but Hyatt did a great job renovating them.  

We had one issue during our stay. As we pulled the sliding lock across the door an "uh oh" -  We could see as it slid that the door jam was bent a little. Guess what... we are officially locked in the room. Outside of tearing it apart there is no way out. I called the front desk and asked for a phillips head and explained the issue. I ended up feeling bad because they were so genuinely apologetic for the issue. To us it was funny and we knew we weren't really trapped (well we were and the door jam had to come off).

The service and room was great. I just didn't care for the buffet.

i don't frequently feel the need to review hotels because i'm generally a pretty easy customer to satisfy- just give me the room i booked and don't charge extortionist fees for parking (i'm looking at you, emily morgan in san antonio).  but i want to weigh in on this hyatt house location to balance out some of the negative reviews with my own positive experience.

a few months ago, i stayed in this hotel during a weekend trip to houston.  it may not have been an optimal time for travel since i was only three weeks post-op after a very intense surgery, and also made the dubious decision to eat a jack-in-the-box burger at a questionable location on the drive down.  this, unsurprisingly, resulted in a horrendous night of food poisoning during which i spent every minute praying fervently for swift death.  i am not good at nausea.

check-in time at hyatt house on the day of your reservation is 3pm, but i called and asked if i could arrive significantly earlier due to my illness.  megan at the front desk was incredibly warm, kind, and understanding.  i didn't have to elaborate with disgusting details of my sleepless night spent sweating profusely and vomiting up all of my major organ systems.  she swiftly informed me that they could absolutely accomodate me earlier.  

i have no complaints about my room; whether by circumstance or thoughtful intent, i was placed into a suite when i had originally booked a studio.  this provided boyfriend the opportunity to study peacefully for his exam in the living room while i flopped around the bed like a dying manatee in the bedroom.  the hyatt house building is rather dated, but don't let the dreary hallways deceive you; they've done a great job remodeling their rooms.  and this might have been augmented by exhaustion and a handful of painkillers, but i swear that king bed felt like an endless sea of clouds covered by a blanket made of butter.  i slept for ages and made a full recovery.

the next morning, when i checked out, megan was super sweet and asked me if i was feeling better.  all of my experiences with hyatt staff have been great, but she really stood out to me as someone who cared about hospitality.  sup girl if you ever live in dallas and want to work in healthcare for some weird reason, hit me up.

I came here thinking would be similar to the Hyatt place in sugar land... However, I was very very disappointed. I thought Hyatt hotels are normally acceptable, and good for business. This hotel was horrible!!.. The Internet connection is the worst I have ever had in a hotel!.. The breakfast was just disgusting everyday!!.. Unfortunately there was nothing good!,.. Every morning I just had a couple of bananas, to not be hungry later, because all the food was really bad, I served it on my plate, and after trying a little piece, I couldn't eat the rest...  The room, was really old, my bed, the first day had a noise, that I couldn't sleep. In addition, there were not enough mirrors, and was not comfortable at all..

The only good thing the hotel had was the service... People was very very friendly!.. But other than that... Everything was Awful!.. I hope I don't have to stay there never again!

We had a really nice stay at this Hyatt for one evening in a two bedroom suite. We really enjoyed having a large kitchen and living room area - and separate rooms and bathrooms for us and our friends.

The living area was very spacious with a nice comfortable sectional couch. The kitchen was also spacious. The only thing we found amiss in the kitchen was that one of the knives we pulled out to use to cut a cake was incredibly dirty and I had to wash it. The beds were really comfortable with good pillows. The bathrooms were generally pretty clean and the shower was absolutely fantastic! Best shower I've probably ever taken in a hotel. Hot water, great pressure... yep!

Our floor's hallways had an odd mixture of smells to it - sometimes smelling like Hi-Liter markers, and sometimes smelling musty. Our room had no smells whatsoever, though.

The breakfast bar was actually pretty nice, although I did not eat there. I simply went down to get coffee. The coffee was actually really good.

Checking in and out was pretty smooth, and in addition, we went downstairs and asked the front desk if they had any playing  cards and they did which was an excellent touch and provided for a great gaming evening up in our room with friends.

All in all, this was a great stay and it is in a nice area. We payed roughly $250 including taxes for our two room suite which was an exceptional price for the area. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would absolutely stay here again.

I have been staying at this place for last couple of weeks and I am seriously concerned about the standards Hyatt stood by years back.

Staff: Super rude for many reasons. I am not saying that all of them were but some of the staff especially the ones on morning shift don't even care to look up at your face when talking to you. There was this one instance when I called in from my office to ask them for my first weeks invoice and the lady at the reception hung on me before I could finish my conversation.

Rooms: I would give 3/5. The housekeeping staff did some good job keeping up the room. They even put some of the dirty dishes in the dish washer while housekeeping. The area outside my room and corridor were all dusty and plastered evident from the fact that they were undergoing renovation. Also if your booking this place in future make sure that they have clean water running all day. I had days when the kitchen water ran filthy. The only good thing was that they would inform you in advance that they would have water running on certain days !!

Dining: 1/5. This place was a disaster !!. There were 4 tables (three of them could hardly fit 2 people) for all guests staying at the hotel !! Are you kidding me. I had seen so many guests return without having breakfast/evening social just because they didnt't have any where to sit. I even reported this to the staff and all they did were smile. I am pretty sure that they are not being paid to smile but to improvise when needed. There were days when the breakfast would be served but there would be no cutlery besides it, How to expect us to help ourselves ????? Probably next time I will carry some from my room.

fitness room: 2.5/5. They have 4-5 training equipments and its free most of the time. Did I tell you that some of them did't work !!. Oh yes, I have heard it all !! There were days when the hotel staff wouldn't replenish water bottles in the fitness centre and some days the weigh scale would just disappear. It seems the staff were least interested about any thing. Parking: was fine, never had a problem. Do bear in mind they charge you $12/day for parking.

Overall: I wouldn't recommend this place for the price that they charge you and the service they provide you.

I stay here every time I'm in Houston for work. Best part- mini kitchens with a full fridge. Great for traveling professionals who bring their own healthy food. Rooms have been renovated, Comfy beds, parking is close, staff is friendly. Quiet and best for work trips.

My honey and I took a mini staycation and chose the Hyatt House.  While kind of minimalist it was neat and clean.  They have decals in the hallway instead of actual tables, mirrors, lamps and chairs but it was still nice. The gentleman at the desk was friendly enough.  

We park and get to our floor only to find one half of the hallway torn apart for repair work.  Would've been nice had it bee mentioned upon checkin. The workmen were wrapping up so we though nothing of until the next morning when we were woken up to non stop sawing, sanding, hammering and drilling. I took it up with the manager and all he said was sorry and asked if we planned on going out for the day.  Because we planned to be in bed all day we had to deal with the noise all day.

The studio room itself was lovely.  Having a full kitchen was a plus as it allowed us to bring snacks and make drinks and heat up leftovers from our dinners out.   I loved the shower with the rain shower head and we picked up a few DVD's from the RedBox. I absolutely enjoyed our room and it had everything that we needed to be comfortable. We picked up wine and and forgot an opener but our kitchen had one. It even had a dishwasher. The H-bar was nice but very bare; waitress was very friendly.

This hotel looked like a middle management overnight stop before a business meeting. Not a place you would want to stay at if you had time to do research.
Our bed was unmade under the bedspread and the sheets appeared to have been sleep in. It was after midnight so just went to sleep. Checking out we were charged $10. More than our room price was and a additional $12. Fee for our car we parked.
Small room looked like a large prison cell. No imagination on decorating.
Night desk clerks were very unaccomodatings.
Better to sleep in your car!

This is the best Hyatt brand hotel I have stayed at.  The staff are the same ones who have been here for a while, and they always go above and beyond to ensure that we have a great stay.

I will start by saying that I would give the accommodations four stars.  That said, everything else about the hotel deserves 5 stars.  We were traveling with 2 youngs kids so we made use of the pullout sofa which was as comfortable as you would expect.   The full kitchen was extremely convenient, as we did a bit of light grocery shopping so the fridge gave us somewhere to store everything and the microwave allowed us to heat it up.  There was also a flyer (probably geared towards business travelers ) stating that you could write a list of the groceries you need and the staff would get them and place them in your fridge at no cost to you!  A personal interaction that we had with the front desk staff occurred when our son needed a bandaid.   The receptionist pulled out 3 different types of bandaids, let our son pick out a treat from the on site store - here comes the most pleasant surprise - and the next day we had a hand written note at our door stating that she hoped that our son felt better.  This place definitely deserves 5 stars!

We stayed a weekend here and it was a pleasant experience. The location is great if you are trying to see a lot of Houston. Although it is located in the Southwest corner of the city, it is right off of 2 freeways that you can hop on when it is not peak hours. Another great thing about the location is the proximity to the Galleria Mall.

The best thing about this hotel is the staff. They are so friendly and always looking to help. The rooms were so-so and felt like a renovation in progress. The bathroom was nice and large and the walk-in closet with a safe was a nice touch. The room was decently appointed overall.

TIP: Parking is $12 a night in the attached garage, which is kind of a long walk. Instead, just parking the neighborhood across the street from the garage. It is not too sketchy and it was easy to find a spot. There are some temporary parking spots right in front for you to load and unload.

Kind of pricy but I guess it's because of the location.

The rooms are quiet and come with a fully equipped kitchenette.  The king sized bed was very comfortable and the bathrooms are very nice, as well.  This is the perfect hotel if you're on a business trip or for an extended stay in Houston.  They also have a tasty breakfast!
