I don't even know if the other reviewers stayed at the same hotel as me.  The facilities are nice enough, and this is a good business hotel because it's quiet and relaxing.  But I've stayed here multiple times and have yet to have a good experience.  I've had brown water come out of my showers, and had my wake up call be 45 minutes late.  TOTALLY unacceptable for a hotel that caters to business clientele.  My room service was also consistently late, and one time, I tried to call room service to order breakfast (because the door hanger did not have a complete menu) and was rudely told just to write everything on the door hanger.  What the heck is the room service button on my phone for then?!?  And even in spite of all this, I might have still come to the Omni instead instead of one of the local hotels down the street so that I could get the points.  But half of my points didn't even show up.  Bottom line --- if all you need is a quiet place to sleep, a decent hotel gym, and a decent hotel restaurant, this is not a bad place.  But if you need any other luxuries like clear water, I would not recommend this place.

Good place to chill if you have some time to kill before going to a meeting over at ConocoPhillips... can't speak for the rooms, but the atrium reminded me of the Austin Omni, so guessing they're similar.

I stay here a lot and if you need to be close to the energy corridor, this is an excellent location, but I've had enough of the glitches:  television that didn't work visit before last, and on the last visit there was no hot water in the bathroom (but, didn't discover this until I was in a race to get ready for a meeting) - more importantly, when the TV didn't work the woman at the front desk asked if I really "needed" a TV, and when I told another woman about the shower on the next visit she said that a lot of people had mentioned that, but how was my stay? (I was incredulous - I just told you I had to take a military shower and you want to know how my stay was?).  At a hotel for work I want a good internet connection, operational plumbing, a television, and a comfortable bed - in that order.  There are a couple of guys that work at the front desk who are really great, but again, I will stay at the Marriott on Katy Freeway next time.

Been here 15 - 20 times. . . . clean, comfortable Hotel with good service.  The staff here always makes you feel like you are at home.  Quick check in and no hassle check out.  Bathrooms are a bit cramped but overall good experience and will keep checking in here while on business.

What a beautiful facility - indoor/outdoor lake that flows throughout the lobby and exterior of the hotel - filled with lovely carp - feeding time is amazing.  Took me less than 2 minutes to get checked in - great front desk pesonnel!  My room was absolutely clean with great amenities and nice plasma screen tv.  Great pillows!  I got a great deal on Hotwire.com !

I've always loved this hotel.  They have wonderful rooms and the lobby is beautiful.  The service is always great.  The night that I stayed the electricity went out for a few minutes but they had it fixed quickly and everyone was in a happy mood.  As always the bed was very comfortable and the food in the restaurant was great if a little pricey.

Spent the night after getting the house painted. The service was excellent, the staff very helpful, the beds were just right. Bath a bit "cozy", but perfectly adequate. We got a very nice deal on Hotwire, so really can't complain at all. Didn't eat at the restaurant, so I can't judge that, however, note that the business center / gift shop has Starbucks, so you can get a nice coffee in the morning from there if you wish. If you join the Omni club, which is free, then you get free Wifi. Unusual in a hotel of this quality.

Loved it, I haven't stayed in that many hotels but this one is my favorite by far. Me and my buddies head down to Houston every year and so we've made the Omni OUR Houston hotel. Won't stay anywhere else. Great look and feel to the whole place. Love the atrium area, so calm and serene. Bar was great too! Only gripe I had was that the AC unit didn't really get like ICE COLD. Put it to 65F and it felt like 75. All in all I love it!

Great hotel, great value! Things I loved about this place: the beds, the rooms in general, the koi fish pond, the brunch they provided (seriously amazing) on Sunday and valet. I'm not out this way very often, but I'd for sure stay here again.

This is my new staycation spot!

All the other good comments made are true but for me it all comes down to service and this place has got it.

When we stayed there was a toddler beauty pageant at the hotel, this would lead you to expect over worked beaten up exhausted staff. Not the Omni Westside. Outstanding service and special personal touches at every turn. Join their free loyalty program and get free Internet, coffee, juice, soda, or even red bull delivered to your door for free in the morning.

Special thanks to front desk super man Lee, his superior service was above and beyond.

All this and I was a lowly Priceline customer, try and get this kind of service with a Priceline booking at any other hotel chain...

We've stayed here twice now and have had a great experience both times.  What we love most about the place though, the koi ponds and the pond with the catfish outside.  We spend so much time feeding all the fish while we're here, I'm sure they're fatter when we leave!

The staff are generally very friendly and helpful.  I have only ONE COMPLAINT.  The beds here don't agree with me.  I think they're too firm.  On this last stay, I was awakened through the night with terrible hip pain.  Since we had two nights to go, I called down to see if there was something they could do.  I've mentioned the bed being too firm in another hotel and housekeeping came and put an egg-crate-type mattress topper on.  It made a world of difference.  This is a pretty swanky hotel that caters to business travelers, so I figured surely they had a solution.  The very nice lady from the front desk said she'd call down to housekeeping and call me back.  I was told they could put an extra comforter on the bed for now but would try to get back to me with a different solution after the head of housekeeping returned back to work.  I declined the comforter, as I couldn't really see that sleeping on top of a comforter that would simply flatten out would be helpful, but told her we'd look forward to her call.  They NEVER CALLED back.  I decided to let it go and suffer out the rest of the trip, and suffer I did.  I barely got any sleep at all.  In all honesty, I'm not sure I can stay here again.    And that makes me sad because I really enjoy hanging out in the lobby with the fish.  But sleep is SO important, especially when you're traveling.  Lack of it can completly ruin a trip.  For this issue, and this issue only, I give it three stars.

Nice hotel for a good price / service ! We booked the hotel incl breakfast arrangement. The buffet is very easy. You can choose between a lot of things. If something is not available (eg french toasts) they prepare it immediately for you. One thing : I prefer fresh juice...
We had - free - hot drinks in the morning (room service).
Reception is very helpful in the days when there were travel problems with Sandy the hurricane.
If we will visit Texas again, we will choose this hotel.

Great hotel!   We usually stay here when we go to Houston.  Our rooms have always been quiet.  Big rooms, nice comfy chair, clean and FREE parking!  

Nice indoor pond and they give you free food to feed the fish, which my son loved!

Here for a wedding. Not a bad hotel. Used to be a Hilton or a Hyatt, I believe.Maid service is attentive, and they give you a Houston Chronicle every day. The room has some issues (looks like someone keyed the window), but other than that...eh, it's ok.
Only real issues are that there's a slight musty smell in the hallway like old water, and that when someone turns on something, somewhere... the entire floor bounces and vibrates. The first time, being from California, I thought we were having an earthquake. It took a few minutes for me to figure it out.

Eh..

If you are into snobby atmosphere go for it. Personally if a place thinks its privileged enough to charge for wifi in this day and age. Too uppity for my taste. Co worker went to his room to change back into work clothes because it's too upscale.

Yes you can join the loyalty rewards club and get wIfI but then you get to "agree to the terms every day". Not a big deal but annoying for such a " upscale place".

But I'm just a country bumpkin.

We experienced TERRIBLE guest service at the Omni Hotel - Westside in Houston last week. Housekeeping NEVER came into our room to make the bed or to supply fresh towels. When we opened the ice bucket upon our arrival, OLD MELTED ICE & YUCKY STUFF was IN the ice bucket from the previous guests! Our in-laws were served COLD coffee in the mornings through their supposed extra special morning delivery and the snack shop that "proudly serves" Starbucks coffee had NONE brewing in the morning hours. We ordered a late night meal when we arrived since it was too late to dine out after our late flight and the almost $40 salad and white-bread sandwich were utterly sub-par; no condiments were sent with the sandwich and no croutons in the mere 1 cup of Caesar Salad. Also, there were NO well-placed trashcans and recycling cans around the hotel or in the room to dispose of used ice water cups or to recycle water bottles or soda cans. The $6 for 1 bottle of water in the room is offensive! At Hyatt's, Hilton's or Marriott's, where we also have "rewards accounts," we get free bottled water AND the passcode for the free wi-fi in the guest rooms is automatically supplied! We could not find the wi-fi passcode in the room literature. We've had much better service at a Radisson just weeks ago! We expected more from an Omni Hotel. This Omni Hotel - Westside Houston is not a hotel I would recommend to anyone even though the atrium is quite lovely ... No use having a lovely interior if guests receive horrible, sub-par service.
Shame on you Omni Hotels!

the basics:
clean, comfortable, friendly service, good food, helpful staff, reasonable priced, and beautiful hotel with indoor/outdoor koi pond.

the details:
i just got married on 12-30-12. our accommodations for our wedding party and family from out of town were at the omni westside. when planning a wedding things DO change and so did our reservations- they were very helpful with this and were able to give me a reasonable price for our rooms since we reserved so many.

while there, we accidentally set off the smoke alarm by throwing pillows around- they did not get upset with us, in fact, they were very helpful and sent in an engineer to take care of the problem in the middle of the night. we kept losing our hotel room keys because of all the hustle and bustle and they were very pleasant when coming up to give us new keys lol.

it was a very welcoming atmosphere as the same person helped us everyday whenever we needed him to move our bags from one room to another, or our wedding stuff to the limo or to the car.

when our limo was late (yes i was late to my wedding by an hour), he tried to help us get another limo there in 5mins- i shouldve gone with their limo service in the first place but it hadnt occurred to me to ask when i booked the room. however, our limo finally did make it. but we did appreciate the gesture and the info.

when i was unable to leave the hotel because i came down with the flu (thats right i had the flu on my wedding night- super charming lol) he helped me move to another room and the front desk arranged for me to stay in a larger suite without an additional charge because i was all and i had just gotten married. they were so nice to us!

everyone in the restaurant was very helpful- as a vegetarian/vegan it can be difficult getting something to eat outside of the comfort of my own home but they were very accommodating and didnt get upset when i dropped everything LOL and they kept giving me juice because they knew i was  ill.

overall my stay was amazing, it was gorgeous and so much fun, the staff is super cool and nice and i loved the pampering! i definitely recommend this hotel and i plan to reserve rooms here every time i go to houston!

I stayed here for a business conference and was very surprised by the place. The outside does not look like a hotel, to me it looks like an office building. The inside is very spacious, with a nice indoor lake and beautiful tropical surroundings and interesting lobby area.  It was decorated very nicely for the Christmas Holidays and was very festive. The staff were very friendly and the meeting space was nice. I was very impressed with all of the meals. The food exceeded my expectations for hotel banquet style food, the Chef or Food/Banquet Manager really knows what they are doing. Also the Bar Tender was very good. Upon taking my order, he made a suggestion of a new drink for me to try & offered it to me for free if I didn't like it. It was similar to what I ordered but a little more sophisticated and  I really enjoyed it & was more than willing to pay for it.  LOL My room was very comfortable, the closet was somewhat small, but everything else in the room was great. The bed was very comfortable.  Nice perks for the loyalty program. I would most definitely stay here again & again.

EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE!!!   I stay at this Omni Hotel often....believe me... it is the best of ALL I have visited.
It could withstand a little updating but you can't beat the service.
For the individual that talked about the $6 water....you are not forced to drink the water!!! Bring your own....HELLO!!!!

Omni is one of my favorite hotel to stay at when traveling. The express online check-in, "Love It"!! This was the second that I had stayed at this one and was surprised at a few changes.

1) Thermostat monitoring adjustments
2) Lock on the fridge and filled with "fee for all kinds of drinks"

Now, for those two reason I had a problem and why I gave it 3 stars. When we arrived to our beautitul room, right across from the "Executive Suite", it was a bit warm. The thermostat was set on 67 degrees with drapes/blinds closed and it felt like 70 outside brought inside. After adjusting  the thermo down to 60 and stripping down waiting for the room to cool down after about an hour it was still feeling the same. Tech came up and stated the rooms are set higher cause customers like it that way.........WTH!!!, PLEASE!!!, this is Houston!! One of the most humid and dry areas in Texas. After he did his trick with the control unit it still didn't get that much better until a talk with management. "CLUCK"!!

Secondly, being that it was my B-Day weekend we had lots of liquor in tow and wanted to keep it chilled. Low and behold a freaking lock on the fridge and it was filled to the core with sodas, juices, energy drinks, beer and top liquors etc...and all of it was drink, ching, ching!! So we had to move all of it out in order to use fridge. Next time I wll bring my own ice chess...."PERIOD"!!! and damn another "CLUCK"!!

Other than those two issues our stay was awesome and the Cafe by the Lake has the best breakfast buffets that I have ever experienced at any hotel. The service and staff is so attentive and nice.

Five Stars: After all was said and done the management and staff made sure I had chocolate strawberries and chilled bucket of champagne complete with flutes and a sweet Happy Birthday wished signed letter by them to top off my stay...:()

It's like the Four Seasons but at 1/3 the price.  I can't imagine a better value!

Rooms were pretty basic, but but service was impeccable.

Little things like free pressing of shirts, free hot coffee delivered (not like the little personal cup coffee makers, but fresh pot at your door), and Four Seasons quality Personnel.

Don't know how they do it at these prices, but it is AWESOME!

Great stay! Although this hotel is one of the older porperties, it is still great because of the pristine service. The staff is friendly and took care of our every need above and beyond. We stayed from 5-24-2014 to 5-26. There was a prom, wedding and other events going on at the hotel and the staff made sure to provide excellent service through all of that. The food was good both thru room service amd the breakfast buffet. Will defintely stay again.

Well our stay here did not get off on the best foot.  When checking in, we were being given a double bed when I reserved a king.  We were informed that since we booked through a 3rd party (Orbitz) our preferences were not guaranteed... Huh????  Where did it say that when I booked.  My husband is 6'4" and a small bed is not an option for him.  Anyway they did manage to find us a king after a few minutes so crisis averted.  

After that things went well.  There are a few nice perks you get with the loyalty program - free Internet and coffee delivered to your room in the morning--nice.  They also have a very reasonable breakfast menu with some basic items you can have delivered with your coffee.  That was something I haven't seen before and we enjoyed.  The hotel room was just OK - I found the bed to be very comfortable and slept like a baby.  The beauty of this hotel is in the lobby.  Very pretty and as it seems the Omnis strive for, very peaceful.  We found the staff to be very helpful - actually got my husband a cup of coffee when he was waiting for a shuttle to take him to the airport at 4 am.

We did use the hot tub which was nice but could have been just a bit warmer.  BTW, there is access to the pool area by walking through the 2nd floor and using the stairs to the first so you do not have to walk through any parties going on on the first.

All in all I would recommend this hotel, we had a pleasant stay.

First I must say Omni Hotels are one of my most favorites!! Being a select member I get free Internet service every time I stay. That's just one of the perks ... :-)
This hotel is nice and elegant. As you enter the door until the time you leave you are given impeccable service.
The rooms and bathrooms are so clean and fresh. You have a nice sized bathroom, sitting area, desk area, and an enormous bed. Beautifully decorated, and you don't get that closed in feeling like being claustrophobic.
I had an enjoyable, relaxing, and satisfying time during my stay.

This was stay number 9 or 10 and also the best. Everything we asked for prior to our visit was ready when we got there. Sleep kit, extra pillows, quiet room, on and on.
It was our anniversary and they had a bottle of champaigne and chocolate covered strawberries in the room as well as a wonderful welcoming letter.
We were so pleased that I caleed the manager to thank him personally.
Of course the parking was and will always be an issue but we will work it out.
We will be back.
By the way we had ordered the breakfast package and the food was fantastic.
One other oops is that you have to walk through to banquet room hallway in order to go to and from the pool. I felt a little out of place in my wet bathing suit walking past people in formals and tuxedos. Maybe some of them wished they were me.

Every time I travel to the Houston area I without a doubt  stay at the Omni   I work in the movie industry but the decor of the interior of the hotel is beyond the biggest budget film as for the service it was exceptional
The rooms are very clean with plenty of room to really relax .my family is so happy to stay here very safe . Clean and comfortable . If your in this area  don't look

Stayed at this hotel last night after a long drive only to find bodily fluids and hairs (I'll let you guess what kind) from a previous guest on the sheets. To say I was disgusted is a HUGE understatement! I did go and address it with the management and got new sheets. Seriously though, between the unmentionable hairs, the bodily fluids, the mold in the shower and the urine left over from I'm guessing that same guest I was SO over it. Will never stay here again!!!

We stayed here over Christmas while visiting my in laws and it was lovely. The rooms are clean and comfortable beds.  Everything seems new and well kept. One of my pet peeves is to get to a hotel and it seems run down..especially the bathrooms.
Outside our room you could look down onto the lobby with the coy pond and the turtles.  It was decorated for Christmas, had several trees and a Santa's Workshop.

The breakfast buffet was one of the best I have had for this level of hotel. Fresh fruit, omelets, pastries, eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast..biscuits and gravy..pretty much anything you can imagine being on a breakfast buffet but also things like cheese blintzes (yum!)

They were setting up for Christmas dinner which we did not attend but apparently it's a pretty big deal. I wouldn't think people who were not staying at a hotel would go there for Christmas dinner but the chef at the omelet station assured me they are usually packed. Maybe we will check it out next yr.

We used priceline and got a king room for $61/night.  Hotel was overall nice and rooms were clean, but be forewarned that they charge anywhere from $10 - $15/night for internet if you are not a member (so you can sign up for free), and they do not have a fridge in the room.  We had our leftovers go to waste because there was no fridge.  Bed and pillows are great and comfy. Atmosphere is nice, but lots of kids around.  Parking is free and there is some covered parking.   Plugs are conveniently located near the nightstand to charge your electronics.  Robes in room are comfy too, but not sure if they are free to wear.  

We also ate at the hotel restaurant. The food was overpriced for the quality.  Presentation was nice but it does not make up for the food that tasted frozen and just not fresh. We had the shrimp and calamari for the appetizer, and ate the redfish, macaroni and rice and the short ribs, mash potatoes and greens beans for dinner.  The green beans were the best thing we ate if that says anything at all.  You are definitely better off  going out to eat at one of the many restaurants nearby, or at least going through a drive thru.  Seriously, i would have preferred any drive thru fast food over the hotel food.  

Also, the small store/coffee shop doesn't seem to keep regular hours, so bring your own food/drinks, but again remember there is no mini fridge.  

Overall a cheap stay thru priceline, but not a 4 star.

Ruined Valentines Day...it went terribly terribly Wong

I would like to start out be saying that The Omni Hotels have always been my favorite chain and The Omni is the first hotel I will look for when planning a visit somewhere...well it was up until this past Saturday.

I am a Omni Select Member and from time to time they will email out a special offer. I received such an offer a couple weeks ago that was called their "Romance Package" which included a bottle of champagne and flowers in the room, a credit to spend at the hotel, early check in and a late check out, awesome! From their email I click the provided link, filled in my Select Number, my credit card info and received a confirmation. I originally tried the main Omni Hotel in Houston by The Galleria by they were sold out, second choice was the Omni Westside. I saw they did have some fairly bad reviews but we thought, heck its still the Omni lets go for it. I also made a dinner reservation at the restaurant within the hotel.
A few days prior to our up coming stay I received another email offering me to check in online and the email gave me the check in time of 1:00pm. Great...the Omni rocks!
We forewent doing any special dinner on Friday which was actually Valentines Day and just put our thoughts into the stay at The Omni Westside. We got all loaded up Saturday morning to head to the hotel to arrive at the time they gave me...we wanted to hang at the pool and have some much needed "together time". I walked in and went to the Select Member key rack and nothing was there. Well its just now 1:00 so maybe they haven't put it out yet. (The Omni Galleria has never failed me in having the key ready as promised) I walked up to the guest check in and ask the girl if we could check in please. She took my name and said the rooms not ready and she had no idea when it would be...huh? She said she might be able to put us in a double but its in the back of the hotel. I said ok (just wanted to hit the pool) and I did tell her that the Omni gave me the 1:00, I did not request it. Ok...no biggie.
After she checked me in I inquired about that the champagne in the room and how the in hotel credit worked. She looked at me and said that I wasn't registered for the Romance Package and was under Triple A and it came with NO perks. I explained that it must be an mistake because it wasn't even something I logged on to their website for...I simply followed the link from THEIR email. She said she couldn't do anything but charge me almost double of what the original room rate was! I asked for a manager.
She disappears for a few moments and walks back out with a gentleman by the name of JIMMY WONG, who identified himself as the hotel manager. I thought, great the manager can fix it!  I went through the entire story again with MR. WONG and explained that it must be an error on the Omni's end as I only followed the link to sign up that was provided to me in the email. The webpage it linked me to was made obviously for Valentines Day and this special, it had a lady smiling with a rose in her hands and the caption, "Sweep her off her feet" along with the Cuisine & Cocktail offer!  Plus I explained I'm not even a member of Triple A! Jimmy Wong is a very unpleasant and impersonal man. I explained that I am a long time Omni Gold Select member with dozens and dozens of Omnis stays under my belt. He frankly DID. NOT. CARE. He just continued only with the rate that was double what I was originally given. I explained that this was a special Valentines for my wife and I...I explained that we, like many people, were on a budget and doubling the fee wasn't going to work. I basically pleaded with him to see what he could do...anything! He didn't even try. I asked if there was a compromise...heck how about breakfast?! Or still give us the cheap bottle of bubbly?! Anything?! NOPE that's it take it or leave it. In other words don't let the door hit ya where the Good Lord split ya! I have never been treated so poorly by an Omni employee in my entire life of being an "Omni guy"!
So I had to make the walk of shame back out to my truck and tell my wife that we couldn't have our specially planned Valentines.
What really upset me the most was the attitude and unwillingness to fix a problem or even find a happy ground with a long time Omni Select Member, from JIMMY WONG.
After we drove all the way back home (BTW the Omni Westside is a long way from our house) I decided to cancel two upcoming stays with the Omni Dallas and The Omni Parker House in Mass. I will also be forfeiting my Omni Select membership and deleting all positive reviews that I have made for the Omni Hotel chain through out the years...

Hey Omni Select! I know that the these reviews are read...so thank your manager, JIMMY WONG!

This is kind of our go to spot when we want to get away from our crazy house full of kids....we usually get one of their special "love" deals they offer....ooh la la includes a bottle of sparking wine and little desserts, turndown service, and you have a choice of breakfast in your room or downstairs. We always order breakfast in the room...ask for a corner room! very quiet and we always enjoy our time together here.

I checked in Monday evening after a long day of work! I expected something different since I was told that the hotel had been renovated. The hallways are dark, doors to room could use a cleaning and refresh painting. The room was a generous size however as I proceeded to Clorox wipe things down as I normally do upon check in there was an unnerving amount of dirt/dust lifted from the sink and countertops! It was disgusting. To the point that I left to go get more wipes and Lysol. At that point I decided that is forego convenience to the location of my office and check out the next day. Unfortunately I didn't have time to check out Tuesday but Wednesday I was out there!  Parking garage is subpar and fills up quickly.  I doubt that I will return to that Omni location in the future.

Stayed here for a friend's wedding & got a great deal. The hotel is beautiful and clean. They have great customer service. Checking in and checking out was quick. There's a restaurant cafe on the lobby which served good food, but I kinda thought breakfast was overpriced. One nice feature is definitely the koi pond, such cute fishies!

One downer is, I asked if there's a microwave so I can heat up some food, the operator said there's one available by the front desk. We go by the front desk, and the manager said we can't microwave food bc it's a liability? Uhm what. Never been to a hotel where guests can't heat up anything on a microwave.

Great place to stay. I was very satisfied with this hotel and the staff here are very attentive. I loved staying here. The place is clean, room service is awesome, the restaurant is fantastic (ask for Gonzalo). Mary at the front desk was a great service provider (thank you).

I highly recommend this hotel.

We decided to drive into Houston for a fun birthday weekend. After an outstanding dinner at The Pass, we returned to the hotel to find ourselves locked out of our room. The night manager, Carol I believe, was absolutely horrible. She claimed to not be aware that we had brought a pet (fat sleepy pug), even though we A. let them know upon making reservation, B. arrived with him, and C. paid the nightly pet fee (a total of $100) upon arrival. She used this as justification for passive aggressively locking us out of our room, and explained all of this in a rude tone. So, our first evening at the hotel was ruined. In the morning, I went to complain to the front desk about the appalling treatment we received the night before and was met with continued anger. Apparently, if you book a room here through a second party website, the Omni's philosophy of hospitality turns into one of hostility. The woman (Yanni Llanos) repeatedly told me I should take the complaint up with Priceline, as I was a 'Priceline guest' and not an 'omni guest'. Her tone was practically obscene. Ms. Llanos took particular joy in her opportunity to treat me like a second class citizen. She contentiously informed me that the hotel does not get information (like that we had a dog, or my phone number) from Priceline. Though that is both illogical and difficult to believe, I'm not sure why or how a communication issue between Priceline and The Omni has anything to me and certainly couldn't see why it would cause the hotel to behave so inappropriately towards guests. I asked to speak to her manager, to which she replied "I AM the manager here!" So I asked for her name, and she said "I'm reading a report by the manager right now about the incident last night"....(I thought you were the manager?) "Super, but what. Is. Your. Name." "My manager's name is Jason." "And your name is?" "[unintelligible mumbling]" ..."do you have a business card?" She returned several minutes later with her name (Yanni Llanos) practically illegibly scrawled on the back of someone else's business card (she wrote her "boss's" name on the card as well - Jason Bunbos). I was so appalled, offended, and frankly disgusted by her behavior, I immediately reported the incident to Omni headquarters. I will certainly never be returning to this, unfortunately quite lovely and comfortable, hotel because of this horrifying customer 'service' experience.

I called yesterday to book a room here.(Christmas Day ) when we arrived, they already had a cheese plate and a bucket of ice and a bottle of red wine ready for us . ALL COMPLIMENTARY ! We love to stay at this Omni or any of the others. We had checked into another hotel before this one but the customer service was sub-par at best. OMNI, YOU HAVE A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE!!!

Definitely not my favorite Omni Hotel (I'm a big fan of the other Omni Houston location!).

Pros: amazing customer service, friendly staff, prompt service (in-room and restaurants), beautiful lobby.

Cons: ant problem in our room, horrible wifi connection (on Deluxe, in-room) and mediocre housekeeping service.

You know, this is a tricky one to rate. Lovely hotel and lovely rooms. Outstanding grounds and a fascinating koi pond runs through the lobby. Nice folks working here. I especially loved Peggy from room service.

Loved the beds and the rooms themselves but here's where it gets weird:
1. 1st night was in a room that had an overwhelming, loud him from some kind of fan unit or something. Stayed in room thinking it was just me but realized it wasn't when the hall seemed so peaceful. Went to front desk to request move. Was told no one else had ever said this happened to them in they room. I asked that someone from management visit room while I was away to see for themselves. They agreed to move me. The bellman was horrified by the noise in first room.

2. Moved myself to 2nd room after the kind bellman brought me new key. There was a used ice bucket (standing water in it) and a VIP note and bottle for a Mr. Tang. I called down to desk for fear Mr. Tang would come "home". Not really even an apology.

3. The pool is large (one of the reasons I booked here) but once in I realized it has mold growing along bottoms and sides. I was truly disappointed and couldn't believe it was really so bad. But it was.

4.  Restaurant food was good. Room service was delightful.

I'd come back if the pool got cleaned up.

My reservation did not work out at this hotel.

The first room assigned to me had noise level issues where cars were drag racing in the below parking area.

The second room had a broken bed where the mattress completely sinks in and you could feel the bed springs on your back.

The third room had a broken toilet and the bathroom did not feel clean. The wood panel below the sink had water residue marks and other stains on there so it made me question what else didn't get wiped or cleaned in the rooms.

After the hassle, I decided to check out around 1am in the morning. Tired and exhausted after a long day, I did not have the energy to drive around looking for another hotel or try a book a new reservation elsewhere in the middle of the night. I found a nearby community park where I could park the car and fell asleep almost immediately. The next morning,  I found that the hotel did not refund the charges and I spent almost a week afterwards getting the issue resolved. This hotel was not anything I had expected from the Omni brand and I would not recommend it to anyone else.

For an older property,  this location certainly has panache. The water features on the main level (stocked with fish) add a delectable ambiance that makes the interior something to see for the first - time guest.

There is valet parking, yet I chose to self-park. The outdoor garage and elevator arena terribly far to walk. And the restaurant,  bar and room-service choices? Priced reasonably when you consider that it's Houston. The food quality and service are pretty good as well.

The only sightly weird thing that I experienced was the gym access. I had to walk down the stair access from the 2nd floor, go outside to the pool area, and then access the gym. It was slightly hard to get to at first, yet upon seeing that the hotel's gym had a sufficient amount of equipment,  towels and water provided,  I quickly forgot on how difficult it was to find the gym.

Pretty nice place.

I absolutely love this place! Nice, neat, and always clean every time we stay here. My children love the koi pond & the scene that's set up!!! The only minor thing I don't like about it is the fridge isn't for storage. It's stocked and has things you can buy. You can't put your own things in there. Other than that, it's great!

The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean. Parking is free and abundant, the freeway is close by for convenience. I booked this hotel because I wanted to have the option of an outdoor pool only to find out the pictures on the web site look way better than the pool in real life and the hot tub is closed off with caution tape.Unfortunately the hotel is hosting a "car show" this weekend - which means a bunch of early 30 something dudes with fast race cars are standing around in the parking garage talking late into the night revving engines. Kinda brings down any class points this dated hotel had, which is not much. If you need a clean place to stay close to the highway this is fine. If you want to stay somewhere modern and a bit more posh, then look elsewhere.

Well who doesn't expect good and clean service when your are staying at hotel right!?  I saw a deal on Groupon and decided to stay here for our anniversary and I did expect more from the Omni hotel,  i am not gonna say many words just judge yourself from the pictures I took. In conclusion,  don't stay here!  Very disappointed.  Room 5407, April 24-26 2015

I can't believe I forgot to mention the rooms in my first draft. I booked what I thought was a normal king size room. Well to be fair that is what I got, BUT there was no indication that I was getting a king size room with 2 joining rooms attached to it. Yes, TWO. I walk into the room and I see the 1st door that connects to another room and it is locked so I look around the rest of the room. Then next to the bed I see the 2nd door that opens up to the room on the other side of me. I WAS NOT HAPPY, to say the least. The walls are very thin so I could hear both neighbors talking and their tvs; I could hear them crystal clear. If you think about staying here MAKE SURE you don't get one of these rooms. I hope that not all of their king size, smoke-free rooms are of this nature. Other than this, it was a typical room and nothing else to report except that there was a fridge in the room that acted as a mini bar with a lock on it and you had to request for another fridge in order to use it.... Before, I stated that I may come back, but I will not be coming back because of this. For the price, I expected better.

PROS: The check in process was fast and we were in our room within minutes. Great ambience inside with plenty of (I think live) plants. There are interior waterways with different types of fish in them. I think the guests feed them (whether or not allowed), because when you are on the pathway to the elevators (central located) they swim close and open their mouths as if they're already classical conditioned to do so. They do have glass elevators that are really pretty, but incredibly slow. There also 24 hr gym access with lots of gym equipment (& free water bottles, towels, & headphones inside). I was glad to see disposable headphones as I had forgotten mine.

CONS: Exterior hotel lighting is scarce and it's creepy to walk alone at night. The gym is located in an inconvenient place, as well as the pool. They are both in the back, passed all of the conference rooms so they are difficult to find. Another reviewer said you have to go to the pool in order to access the gym, but I think he just failed to find the separate doors. There is no (free) continental breakfast. There is a $18 breakfast bar or you can order it by plate from your room. The parking is really not convenient also. You can valet or park in the back in the garage. The property isn't well equipped with signage so we were unaware before the front desk personnel told us.

I'm here for two more nights so I hope there's only positive things to further report. I'd recommend this hotel, but I don't know if I'd stay here again. There are so many options in Houston. Corrected above^ I will NOT STAY HERE AGAIN.

Highly recommend this hotel! Very clean and nice. Quick room & prompt room service. They forgot our drink. They brought it to us in less than 10 mins. Great food and friendly staff. Beautiful pond with koi fish.

Pretty decent place, though it was far away from Galleria (if you are looking for the one near the mall, this isn't it). It was pretty nice; the rooms were basic. No fridge (unless you get a mini-bar key) or microwave. It looked nice inside and out and had lots of parking (the koi pond is a great touch). The staff was nice and helpful. It's pretty clean and is pretty quiet. I'd stay again, if I actually meant to stay away from the galleria area.

This review is solely based on the lack of customer service from said Manager Carol Lechner at the Omni Hotel Houston in the energy corridor.  

My family and I took an overnight flight to Houston, Texas that was delayed twice before taking off.  We arrived at Hobby airport around 2:30am where we still had to obtain our reserved rental care, which went over without a hitch.  Upon arriving at the Omni on 12/12/14 at 4am there wass no valet present which is fine because it was extremely early, no big deal.  I park at the front door and go in where there are two women behind the desk.  I let the lady know that I was here to check in and that I called for an early check in because of my overnight flight.  Well, I am then told that they do not do early check-ins until at least 11am.   I went through the entire story of how I called on 11/23 and spoke with a gentleman man who regretfully I did not get his name and explained when my flight comes in and if I need to pay for an extra day or check in early.  When speaking with the young man he informed me that we would not be able to check in until after 3:30 am because they change over at 3 am.  At the time I was not completely sure what change over meant, I assumed he meant change staff.  I was told that if there was an available room that there would not be a problem and he even checked room availability and said there was room and I would be ok.  After recalling my conversation to the manager with the young man who answered the phone on 11/23 around 3:15pm (I know the time and date because I had my reservation emailed to me because I did not receive the original one from Expedia.  Expedia informed me that I would need to contact the hotel directly about early check-in, at which time I hung up with them and called the Omni).  I was then told by Carol that they cannot check me in early and that I should not have been told that, that there was nothing she could do but charge me for another day.  At this point I asked to speak to a manager at which point she informed me that she was the manager.   I asked her what I am supposed to do. It is 4 am in the morning, cold and nothing is open around here.  She again says you can pay for the night because regular check in is almost 12 hours away.  I told Ms. Lechner again that I called in advance to see if I need to pay for another day or if I could check in early to avoid this very situation and was told by her staff that I would not have a problem and because they "change days" (as I was corrected by Ms. Lechner) at 3am that I would not have to pay for an additional day.  She just continued only with the rate of the room for the night if we wanted to stay.

Needless to say, I paid for the room because we were all so exhausted and coming to Houston for the first time did not know anything about the city.  I commented to her that if I did not have the money you were just going to send me back out into the cold when I deliberately took steps to avoid this very situation and you cannot honor what your staff is telling the customer.   Her response was we have people coming from out of the country at all times of night we cannot just check people in early.  She then offered to call the Bell Man.

She frankly DID. NOT. CARE. I asked if there was anything she could do at least a discounted rate since we were already paying for the day?  NOPE that's it take it or leave it. I have never been treated so poorly by a Manager no less in the hospitality business.  

What really upset me the most was the attitude and unwillingness to fix a problem or even find a happy medium because of information an Omni employee gave a paid customer.  I called customer relations at 8am that very morning and spoke with Heather who said she would take care of it.  I have no idea what that means nor have I heard from anyone since.

Im not sure about all the negative reviews here, seems like people have some insane expectations.  I have high standards for hotels, and this one meets most of them.  Check in was fast and easy.  Parking was free and plenty of it.  There was a guy cleaning 1 of the 3 elevators at 5:45pm, which seemed like a poor timing, but I'm not docking them a star for waiting 20 extra seconds to get to 5th floor.  The room was beautiful, the hotel is very spread out with a huge beautiful lobby and tons of windows.  The huge inside koi pond is a fun element, as well as the duck pond outside my window.  I had an amusing view of a taxi driver trying to kick a goose, would have been funnier if goose attacked him.  The bed was comfy, the work area huge.  Internet a tad slow.  TV was a bit small but adequate.  Room service decent, obviously expensive.  Checkout a breeze.
