I have stayed at this hotel on two occasions. On both of them the room was immaculate (though the valves on the sink seem to have a bizarre mechanism), and I didn't have to pay for parking (which would have been ludicrous anyway). However, on the second occasion I stayed, I had enormous difficulty with the hotel staff, in particular the concierge's desk. Allow me to give an item-by-item analysis:

1. We asked the concierge how much it would be to take a cab to Reliant Stadium. He told us it would be $17, but it was $25, each way. When you're that far off with such advice, you're really not doing your job as a concierge well. We didn't even have the cash to give our driver a tip!

2. When we were not able to go to the Black Swan due to our attire (see my review for the Black Swan), we called the concierge (different one now; this was several hours later during the night shift) to ask for a suggestion for an alternative bar. Though he said he'd call us right back, we had to call him ourselves after 20 minutes. He told us to try the Houstonian, which he claimed was "right across the street". For those of you who know how to use Google maps, you will see that the Houstonian is about a mile away and  involves a few turns. Since we decided to walk, based on the suggested proximity of the Houstonian, we learned what Google maps will not tell you: walking there sucks.

3. After we realized that the Houstonian was not as close as we were led to believe, we called back the concierge and asked him to explain to us where precisely the Omni is. Though, admittedly, my friend was a bit gruff, he had every right to be at this point. And so it was quite unprofessional that the concierge then hung up on him.

4. After the bar at the Houstonian closed at 2am, we figured walking back wouldn't be the best idea since it would be a walk through the pitch black along non-pedestrian roads. So, I called the Omni and asked if, considering the earlier foul-ups, we could get a complimentary taxi back. I was very polite (I'm not as hot-headed as my friend), and the operator was very helpful and understanding. She told me she'd take care of it. After a half hour of waiting, a taxi rolled up, but it had not been sent by the Omni. Frustrated, we took it anyway and figured the Omni would surely reimburse us based on the perceived helpfulness of the operator to which I spoke.

5. The ride was $6, but the night manager felt that it was our fault for not knowing better that the Houstonian wasn't very close. Because, you know, hotel patrons tend to know the neighborhoods they stay in so well. And nevermind how much the concierges demonstrated incompetence and rudeness, $6 is too much for a four-star hotel to sacrifice. Oh, and we learned that the operator to which we spoke was on her first night of working at the Omni (which would be such an insane idea, I do not hesitate to accuse the night manager of lying to me), so she didn't know that they don't send complimentary taxis. And, after all, it's not as though a hotel would ever take responsibility for making a novice their first contact to any callers.

Eventually, after enough complaining, they wrote off $15 of drinks we had ordered earlier and we called it even. In summary, this was not a pleasant experience.

Both stay here and put friends, clients and coworkers here often.  Live nearby and could put our people anywhere but if you don't have any plans and need a break - this is the place.  I love the Omni - the renovations are incredible and NOE's a first rate eatery.  Try the pool bar and the new exercise area - still haven't tried the new spa sorry?

Attended a meeting here. One of our colleagues got food poisoning after eating here. And the toilets were in bad shape. Knocks out a number of stars for this five-star hotel.

This review is for their wedding planning services only. Over the next few weeks, I'll be adding reviews as I work with various services in Houston to plan a wedding. There aren't a lot of reviews here on Yelp yet for Houston wedding services but hopefully the lists I'll be creating will be helpful for those in the same boat.

The setting is very elegant, and oasis-like in Houston's concrete jungle.

Service: seems to be really friendly and courteous. Definitely a place I'd bring parents, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Location: safe, lots of options for parking. Can't really go wrong in this neighborhood.

Food: They do allow outside catering after all (hooray!) but not for beverages - no surprise there.

Post-wedding analysis: their staff was great! Courteous, good to work with, and helped us make the event a huge success. I would definitely recommend the Omni for hosting a very special event.

A pretty good option if you are looking to stay out of downtown. What you normally get from an Omni - good service and clean rooms. Also has a unique decor in the main areas with its Pan Asian theme. I like it for what it is, but would prefer to be closer to downtown the next time I go to Houston.

This hotel is not a luxury property, but it is extremely nice.  I had a business meeting there last week.  The rooms are spacious and extremely well maintained.  I usually opt for newer hotels because I like everything well maintained.  This hotel was not new (nor was it old) but everything was excellent.

One of my pet peeves is inadequate blackout curtains.  Almost all hotels have blackout curtains but most of them don't overlap enough, causing lines of brightness when dawn comes.  On my first morning I didn't need to get up early so I didn't set an alarm.  I'm happy to report that I overslept because the blackout curtains were perfect.

The front desk staff is friendly and efficient.  I'd say that this place rates a 3-1/2, but since that is not an option I decided that is was closer to a 4 than a 3.

One night stay here in the Omni- the hotel is actually very well maintained. The concierge staff is super nice and was very helpful. I was searching for a yoga studio near for the shuttle to take me- they searched studios for me and made an apt for me to visit and drove me there and picked me up an hour later! Thanks to Jose the bellman for incredible service. The driver was very nice and welcomed me to Houston! The gym is pretty nice as well and the pool area is a "wow". The rooms are pretty spacious and very well maintained.

Black swans in their water!
We came for a private party of 300+ on a Saturday night 7pm - Regency ballroom.  Drinks & appetizers were good - chicken finger, fried shrimp roll, crispy cream cheese roll...
The ballroom was decorated beautifully in turquoise and the flower centerpieces even had blue lights.
Service was good, hectic, really delayed - dinner at 7:30pm but we didn't get dessert until 10pm.
Acoustic were terrible - lots of microphone problems and speaker noise.
Still, it was a great party - we opted to self park - it was a long walk, but a nice night to walk.

I've always wondered why the Omni Hotels doesn't have the same reputation as the Fairmonts or even the Ritz Carltons or Four Seasons.  Their rooms are always furnished classy and up to date.  The bathrooms always have the good soaps and creams.  You can just tell they put a lot of time and effort into the rooms.  And of course they have the matching slippers with the thick bathrobes.  Bathrobes so thick you can go out into the middle of winter wearning nothing else and still feel toasty.

My only hang-up?  ....and this is really reaching here.   They have regular shower / bathtubs here instead of the glass enclosed showers.

The staff was very friendly and professional.

All in all a welcoming place to step into after a day on the road.

Great hotel, crazy good value. They make their money on add-ons, so brace yourself for $26 valet parking, which you should use. It's in an urban oasis and is not surrounded by shops, restaurants, bars, etc. So drive your car (and valet park) or take a cab. If cab fares seem like a stout expense, you're in the wrong hotel in the wrong city. The Omni delivers a beautiful corner junior suite for $155, which is nuts! We experienced good service. Not our first stay. Figure that your $155 room is going to be $200 with all the bells and whistles, and it's still a great value in a beautiful hotel.

This is our hotel of choice when we travel to Houston.  It is a short five minute drive to the Galleria, but it's nestled in a thicket of trees so although you are close to 610, you are far away enough so that you can't hear any traffic.  They have a lovely pool area complete with a bar and grill so you can enjoy libations and snacks poolside.  The rooms are large and spacious, they have recently been renovated.  We order room service there and enjoy chilling in the room after a long day of shopping or attending a conference.  If you book the room on the web, book the breakfast included package.  It's a nominal fee to add and the breakfast in one of the best I've ever had in any hotel and I spend at least 30 days a year in hotels.  All around sumptuous, you won't be disappointed!

Stayed there 4/23-4/25. I was highly impressed but the overall value. The lovely and recently renovated hotel is easy on the eye and has a lovely pool/ outdoor are despite the "office park" surroundings. The rooms were spacious and well decorated. We stayed in a room that was just one level up from their basic (king) room. I loved that there was a lot of counter top space in the bathroom and a make up mirror. However, the biday was kind of an eyesore and appeared to need some deeper cleaning than the rest of the rooms. Also, I know like no hotels clean the tv remotes, but I really wish they would.

But, I digress- I also thought the staff at the salon were great, well trained and professional. The food was also pretty good all around. I greatly enjoyed the quality of the room service food and the efficiency with which it was delivered. The fitness room was great- super clean and filled with all the amenities (headphones, tvs, magazines, water, towels). The ballrooms were nice and even the banquet food was decent. Also, the hotel is located very close to a very large shopping mall which was great. Finally, the staff were exceptionally accommodating and nice. I would definitely return if my travels called for a stop in that part of Houston.

Just stayed here for a family wedding. What a fabulous hotel.  The rooms are fabulous and clean, the breakfast is delicious and the bar in the basement is amazing!!!!! Most importantly the staff was excellent especially Nabib and Brien. They helped to make us experts about what makes Houston terrific.  Would stay there again!

Not my favorites. Asked for extra pillows on thursday. Never got them. Room service messed up the order, twice on two separate occasions. The pool is impressive and really nice.  The room is ok but no free internet unless you sign up for their membership. Parking is horrible unless you valet. The cost of room service is expensive for average food. The burger is pretty good though.  The staff is pretty helpful and friendly. They balance out a mediocre hotel that could be much more.

The hotel was nice but it's not the luxury hotel it claims to be. The pool outside is small. The hotel is not near any attractions. The concierge will claim that things are right across the street, but you need to take a hotel car to get there. Oh, and the concierges are just plain MEAN. They are unhelpful and turn up their nose when you ask them to do anything. And they do not return your calls.

The beds and bars were nice though.

You would probably miss this hotel if it wasn't for the huge sign directing you to the entrance.  Its a quiet property adjacent to several office buildings.

The lobby is very well decorated and the rooms are very clean and well organized; however, you have three options for parking: valet, close proximity garage, and free parking which is shared with the office buildings.  If you choose free parking in the back, expect to walk a fairly good distance.

Overall a solid hotel.

I don't stay in Hotels in Houston, because well I live in Houston.  But every once in awhile I attend events near this area and it's just safer to crash out at a hotel instead of driving home drunk.  A couple of my friends had their wedding after party at this hotel.  And well I enjoyed myself a little too much.  The couple had arranged for guests to stay at the hotel for a discounted price.  I took advantage of the deal to check out the rooms.  The rooms here are nice.  The parking situation is good, overall, if I was a tourist I would pick this as a place to stay due to the amenities and location.

I stayed here this past Saturday for a wedding and was very pleased with  the accommodations, the hotel staff, the food at the restaurant and the Black Swan dance club in the basement.

The hotel is beautifully furnished and the beds are so incredibly comfortable.

I also enjoyed the personalized wake-up call I got Sunday morning. "Hello Ms. W, this is your wake up call. The temperature outside is 61 degrees. Have a pleasant day." A lot of places you stay nowadays have a recorded message.

I definitely look forward to coming back to Houston for a visit and will most definitely stay at Omni!

A few friends and I made the trip to the Texas State/Houston football game back in September and decided to stay at the Omni Houston. Nice lobby, front desk staff, and pool area. The rooms were clean and well kept. My biggest complaint was parking. They're not really organized and the paid garage fills up rather quickly. If you don't valet, then your only option is corporate parking which is quite a walk. We were stared at a few times by other patrons, most likely because we're a younger crowd staying at an upscale, more mature place; it wasn't anything major, though.

Overall a nice hotel with a mismanaged parking system. I'd recommend to friends if they're looking around the area.

*** really i'd say 3.5-stars if it were available. ***

this omni is actually quite nice ...
the room are done well, views are nice,
lobby is spacious, gym is adequate, overall
pool area is sizeable, and the adjacent parks
and pathways are a nice touch for walks/runs.

ample prkg located behind the hotel,
and valet parking is available up front ...
i just think it needs a top-notch restaurant.
then it would become a solid 4-star hotel.
as is though, it's a good value for $150/nt.

Stayed here twice in the past few years and loved it both times. The rooms are very nice and the location is great--very close to the Galleria and highways, but still secluded.

The rooms are very nice. I valet parked the first time I stayed, only realizing later that there is a free garage just around the corner. It's a bit of a walk, but worth it to save on valet fees. The pool area is pretty neat with its fountains and outdoor seating.

Room and maid service were spot on. Most Omnis have great staff members, this one included. Definitely my first choice for staying in Houston!

The rooms themselves were beautifully furnished. The lobby had a lot of old-school charm. The amenities were quite good.

However, the parking situation was terrible. There was a small lot we were originally sent to. We parked there for three nights, paying $15 a day. On the forth night, there was a huge mass of Baylor alumni at the hotel (who were quite loud and never told to quiet, which isn't entirely the hotel's fault). So, we had to park in a second lot. This second lot was quite a trek back to the hotel. It was not well lit and I did not like having to carry my luggage over a huge expanse of land. When we went to leave the lot, it was free. I was upset that I had spent $45 on parking because no other options were given to me.

They also charge for internet, which a hotel of that caliber should provide at no cost. The front desk was professional, but not incredibly helpful or courteous.

If I was to stay at another 4+ star hotel in Houston, I would just choose the Westin. The location is better and the service is always spot on.

I so love this hotel. It is beautiful. My king bed room is spacious and it's very clean and smells good. OMGoodness, this is the first hotel I've stay at where the room smells so fresh, like everything is brand new. I love it. The staff is so nice, very friendly and helpful. Great customer service here. The bed is not too soft or too firm, the pillows are soft and plush, I'll be stacking all four and relax and watch TV. The hotel decor is beautiful and the decor in my room is beautiful as well. I have a perfect view of the pool. If I could give 10 stars I would. I absolutely love it. Can't wait to go down to the lobby and enjoy it with my bottle of champagne as it is New Years Eve about to be 2013. I definitely will be coming back and asking for this same  room. Love it. Oh this is the Omni in the Galleria area.

I live in Houston but decided to book this hotel for a much needed staycation. The location is nice because it is close to all the galleria entertainment but far enough for it to be a resort type place.

Positives: Cozy and clean rooms, nice staff, "classy" guests, beautiful lobby, Black Swan lounge & club, awesome pool area with both salt water & chlorinated pools, cabanas and a DJ on busy weekends

Cons: Parking. $17 for self-parking. If you want to park for free, you have to park in a lot around the corner which is about a 5 min walk to the hotel. I didn't mind it too much... but walking in heels was a disaster and don't even think about carting your luggage with that walk.

I stayed here with my fiance while we attended a friend's wedding.  The hotel is beautiful and above all, the food and drinks are delicious.  The Noe bar has a nice atmosphere and the cocktails, while pricey, were expertly crafted.  The food we had at the wedding reception (held in one of the hotel's many ballrooms) was top notch as was the food at brunch.  The only reasons I have for not giving five stars were that not all the staff were particularly friendly or helpful (kind of hit or miss), and the mattress in our room was a little too soft/saggy in the middle, making for a sore back in the morning.  Despite those two things, I would definitely stay at this hotel again were I ever to revisit Houston.  It was great for the price.

If you are tempted to be impressed by the Omni name or the Omni website, don't be.  The is an old hotel and it looks the part.  The lobby is pretty nice but I did not enjoy: (1) the rickety looking parking garage, (2) the expensive parking.  Note there is free parking but it is in a structure adjacent to the hotel.  It can be accessed via a five minute walk if you don't mind, the (3) Un-updated bathroom, (4) how long it takes for the reception desk to pick up the phone (5) the construction going on inside the hotel.

The Omni Rules!

If you know the rules first:
1 - Yes, you can valet park or park just outside the front door for a pile of money. Or, you can drive 500 feet and walk back to the hotel. Five extra minutes and a few hundred yards is worth the money for me.

2 - The concierge will arrange to drop you off and pick you up at nearby locations - for free. We went to the Galleria and to dinner with very short waits. There is also a movie theater within their service. Return to the hotel was a little slower. Tip: when you call to arrange pick up, wait on the phone until the concierge confirms the time.

3 - Access to the hotel is easy from the freeway, but a GPS is a good idea. We drove right to the front door with the help of our Garmin.

4 - Don't even think about using the min-bar or the in room snacks. We made a quick stop at a local store to stock the room.

5 - Internet $9.95. Unless you join the frequent guest program.

Bottom line: beautiful hotel, nice lobby, clean rooms, solid service.

I recently stayed three nights at this hotel as part of a wedding party.  I found the front desk staff to be indifferent, until I presented a debit card for payment, at which point they became downright rude.  I should mention that I travel with the same bank card and have never had an issue before.  I should also mention that I used the same card to secure the reservation several months in advance.

There was also the issue of a $25 per night deposit on room amenities which I encountered nowhere on their website or during the booking process.  When I did not agree to pay it, I was treated very poorly by the staff and the concierge.  A member of the front desk management team came to my room and took all the amenities out within five minutes of my settling in.

The following day at breakfast (which was included in the bridal party package with the room), the hostess asked for my room number.  When I gave it, another member of the staff made a derogatory comment in Spanish right in front of me, wrongly assuming that I would not understand.  Soy bilingue.

I am not one to complain usually.  My work is in customer service and I try to see the best in people and give the benefit of the doubt when dealing with people in the service industry. I travel frequently and spend several weeks a year overseas.  I have to say, this is the worst hotel staff experience I have ever received.  Nothing about this hotel is exquisite enough to counter the poor treatment dished out by the hotel employees.

The hotel and the hotel grounds are beautiful!  The amenities are great.  It really should be 5 stars but the front staff left a sour taste in our mouth.  We arrived early from San Antonio hoping to get a room a little early and there was none available until 3pm.  They told us to go to the pool and that we can change in the spa facilities.  They then changed it to saying the spa is separately run and won't allow us and that most people change in their rooms....we don't have a room.  They then told us there was no washroom by the pool which I thought was rather strange.  Chris, the front manager overheard and saw our disappointment and took care of us.  He walked us to the pool and let us in the spa washrooms and informed us that the front staff was wrong.  We still weren't able to check in until 3pm but he made matters a bit better for us.  I didn't receive any of the Omni Select benefits upon my arrival either.

I really enjoyed the Omni, even though at the time there was the NBA all star game in progress and the place was over run by prostitutes. They kept it classy though. I have been to the Omni for several business events/conferences and am really impressed. Dana and Meghan in Group Sales are fantastic to work with and the service staff is always on top of things and friendly. The food is also phenomenal and not the usual banquet fare.

My boss stays here and their rooms are very nice and renovated.

Living in Houston if I was to take a "staycation" my first choice would be Zaza or a hotel downtown, but this is a great location near the Galleria and ideal for business events.

My only gripe is the Parking situation shared by others - the free garage is confusing and paying for parking otherwise is obnoxiously high. I get wifi through our events contracts, but having guests pay for wifi seems antiquated. But everything else is top notch.

I am pretty big on the quality of presentation and service for hotels or rather businesses in general. With that I must say that the Omni on 4 Riverway exceeded my expectations with price and the substance of its establishment. I didn't dock points but the only thing lacking was the quantity of pillows on the bed. I also used the Mokara Spa on multiple days and it was wonderful. So much so that when I was displeased with one of the services (rushed), I was given a discount for the service and sent complimentary champagne and chocolate covered strawberries later that evening.

My husband and I stayed here on a romantic evening getaway. I had enrolled in their rewards program and because we bought the romance package if there was a room upgrade available at check-in they would let us have it... and there was! So we were upgraded we also had champagne and chocolates upon arrival and breakfast with breakfast martini's in the morning. All in all it was literally the best stay we've ever had and very romantic... I seriously can't wait to do it again.

So, I stayed at the Omni last night for the first time ever. I was looking forward to it as I had been to brunches and dinner here a few times over the years but never a reason to stay. I check in and find the valet and registration team very helpful. I go up to my room and it is nice, fair view, etc. For an upper end cost it seems to say I will be happy. I clean up and go to dinner (See review on Noe) and while I find the staff overall to be pleasant and attentive, there is no "wow" factor at all. I would have given the hotel at least four stars as the bed is comfortable, etc. but then morning happened. I get up at about 5:30 and take a shower. As I pull back the curtain, I am stunned at the amount of mold in the grout of the tile in the shower. There is no way this should happen at $300 a night. Fine if I am checking into the low end motel on the interstate as I have near zero expectations, but I cannot remember the last time I saw mold like this in a hotel shower. I took pictures in case there was a question.
I would not stay here again and if I meet the person who says this is a 4 plus star hotel, I have to ask them how they rate them. Not worth the money by a lot.

I stay at this hotel frequently, and was just there for two days, April 14-16, 2014. Once again, a perfect stay. The rooms are very large and well-appointed, and scrupulously clean. The breakfast is terrific; take a room with breakfast package and have an omelet from the breakfast bar station. I highly recommend the ham, mozzarella cheese and jalapeño omelet, the jalapeños are fresh and spicy-crisp. The service by the concierges is always great, and the location near the Galleria, in the Uptown Park areas, is excellent if you need this part of town.

I am absolutely appalled by this Omni. I have stayed at a few in different states, and this location was absolutely horrible. The shift manager, Patrick,  was rude and chauvinistic! I had requested a room by noon, as we had people flying in from all over. I understood that the rooms may not be ready. However, check in was at 3 and we didn't get our room til almost 7, mind you, we had made our reservations months in advance!!! The manager was in no way or form willing to help..  The "party" was late to other obligations due to the fact we had to "deal with" the staff. That should NEVER happen.

Once we finally were in our rooms, one was out of toilet paper. Another, the air conditioner didn't work...

Just an all around horrible experience! I would recommend not staying here, and going to any of the several other hotels close by!!

Omni, you are looking fly like a G6. You are not my favorite hotel in Houston, that is the Alden downtown, but I had the same reaction walking inside of you as I did with the Alden: "Oooooh fancy, melike!" unlike at ZaZa where it was basically: "this is gaudy, tacky, way overdone, and you should feel bad."

Houston Omni does not have the same super sweet location like the one in Austin within walking distance of everything good and pleasant there is in Austin - but if you are doing business on this side of town (Uptown/Galleria area/Memorial etc.) then yeah, definitely stay out here rather than downtown.

If you are traveling here for the first time - very short distance from Americas (amazeballs Latin American,) Crave Cupcakes, Highland Village (shopping,) and tons of other restaurants depending on what you like. Stay here on business, stay here on pleasure, stay here for a staycation too!

Great Hotel!

I know you are probably wondering why I would stay in a Hotel that is in the same city I live in.. well let me explain:

It was our dear friend's birthday and we decided to surprise her with a evening of "adventure."  The adventure started at Hotel Omni where we had reservation for one night. We got there at about 7 or 8 and they were expecting us with Champagne. That was awesome. the Valet parking was $25, but you could come in and out as you please. The room was GREAT!! Very upscale and the view was simply amazing! We even got to see the black swans that swam around the lake.

The Staff was terrific including the valet guys. We had an amazing night in the town and the room was comfortable. Definitely recommend!!

Such a great hotel! The atmosphere is so elegant and classy from the time you ride onto the property till the time you leave. The staff is extra nice and helpful to get you everything you need. The rooms are great, lots of space and CLEAN (huge germaphobe), along with the view at night. Nice plush bed, pillows and linen that you can sink in and we slept like babies! The reason why I gave Omni 4/5 is because, even when you don't have that little sign in your door for breakfast, drinks etc they STILL knock. I definitely didn't want to be waken up at the crack of dawn, out of my sleep for some damn juice or whatever (we didn't even budge). Anyway, go book now they're great and you'll love it! Can't wait to go back. Thanks Omni!

We stayed at this Omni when my firm had a Christmas Party nearby.

This Omni is supposedly a 4.5 star hotel.  The following is a list of things that a 4.5 star hotel should not have (which our room at the Omni did):
1) An uncomfortable bed.  The beds were hard and the sheets were mediocre.
2) A toilet that contains crap from the previous guest.
3) A rug that is crumpled on the floor.
4) Indifferent service.

The room was a decent size, but felt stuffy.  The view was nice.  The common areas are very nice.

There is also supposedly a free shuttle, but when we asked if one was available (an hour ahead of time), we were told that the shuttle was booked for the evening.

If you do decide to stay here, do NOT pay for parking.  There's a parking garage next to the hotel in which you can park for free.  This option is found nowhere on Omni's website, and I only found this out from checking Tripadvisor.

I recently stayed at the Omni hotel with my husband for a few days while attending work training. The hotel was really nice and comfortable, the service was good and staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is undergoing construction on the exterior and so parking was kind of a pain. Self park and valet cars all have to go through a single line, so sometimes it gets backed up.  Self park was about a half mile walk and Valet was $27 a day. The pool and gym area are very nice and well kept, so was our room. I would definitely stay here again if given the chance. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because I feel that some things (breakfast, in-room snacks, valet) are a bit overpriced. We ate at the Noe Restaurant one night and the food was good, but we didn't come back as there wasn't much of a selection. The Noe Bar is open late (I think until 1am) and we went 2 out of the 3 nights we were there. They offer a few bites (we tried a few and all were good!) and pretty good selection of drinks. The bar is great because some days we came back to the hotel late at night  and it was great to just sit, get a drink and unwind. They have very friendly staff at the bar! One of the bartenders was amazingly friendly, I think her name was Valeria. She definitely makes you smile and was the main reason we came back that second time!

Stayed in a suite here St. Patricks day weekend and had a great experience. Location is superb and service as usual with an Omni was fantastic. For its level of Chic it is not on the same level as the one in Downtown Austin or Chicago, but definitely upscale and luxurious.

But the only 2 thing that disappointing was there air conditioner my room was stuffy and I turn the air condition on and it would cool but never stay cold and  even if I lower it , still stay the same . Very disappointment . And our room had a queen bed instead of a king .. Should of complain but did not . Hate when I don't and then I think about it and I should off .

This was my 2nd time in the Omni, the first time being a romantic valentine's day Surprise but What a great lunch I experience today at the Omni.

A friend and I were treated to a nice lunch by her friend who happens to be the Director of catering and events.

First and foremost you really have to know how to get to the Omni BEFORE you go, it can be a bit tricky. The valets and waiters are the nicest and most patient workers around!

So to the food..I ordered the Chicken tortilla soup and the market salad, Iced tea and de-caf.

The Chicken tortilla soup COMPARES TO NONE. so if you believe that you make or have had the best tortilla soup you wrong, simple as that! The hearty avocado and cheese are just to die for, literally!

The Market salad had the freshest pecans I have tasted and they were toasted to perfection. The feta cheese was just enough and there were no hidden chunks of cheese hiding in my salad (I hate that).

the ice tea is sooo good all I needed was lemon and the coffee was pipping hot! Just like I like it, and it REMAINED hot throughout my conversation. I think they have special mugs that keep it warm.

The smell was a bit funny inside the hotel, but more than likely, it was due to the rain.

If only I could enjoy meals like these every day..oh wait..I DO!!

At a conference here for 4 days. Well appointed hotel property with 2 restaurants, pool/spa, bar, coffee shop. While the property is what you would except from an Omni, location wise, the hotel is a car or taxi ride away from anything in Houston -- which has been somewhat inconvenient.

What stands out the most, however, is the exceptional service I have received from everyone who works here from doormen, front desk staff, spa staff, housekeeping, room service, bar and catering staff. While I find most service disappointing today in most places, I have been extremely impressed with my stay here.

Dirty laundry bags line the hallways at 8:30 pm... Not worth the $150.00+ per night

But they bought a microwave to our room after reposted!

To get the best bang for your buck ASK FOR A MICROWAVE!

LOCATION GETS 5 STARS, DON'T RENT A CAR THEY WILL HAVE A DRIVER TAKE YOU WITHIN 5 MILES OF THE HOTEL.

That's awesome because the galleria is all around the hotel.

The rooms are beautiful and I love that the decor is dark brown chic. The hotel lobby and grounds are very lovely as well. I'm guessing most the negative reviews were before the remodel. The staff has been very helpful and courteous as well. The only reason I'm giving it four stars are location and I wasn't crazy about my room service order. They do provide a shuttle for free any where within 2 miles. On my way here, the cab I was in broke down! (wish I remembered the taxi company, I had to inform him the engine was smoking and we were breathing toxic fumes! uhhh) Anyhow, Omni impressed me before I even checked in by sending me a very nice shuttle to my rescue with a pleasant and friendly driver.

Meh.  Very pretty hotel, not within walking distance of anything.  Wifi is expensive ($10 a day for slow, more if you want to stream) and not even a continental breakfast for free? Definitely nice pool (which closes at 7pm) and great rooms (no balcony) and good customer service.  I would not stay here again, if I could help it...I would recommend staying downtown.  I would trade this gigantic room for free wifi.  I don't expect to stay at such a nice place and be nickled and dimed.

Bar and Lobby  Review

I only stopped by the Omni to meet a friend who was staying there for a drink. I had a nice experience....the parking lot said $10 plus tax to park for 0-2 hours....I wasn't going to pay that so I drove up to valet and told them I was only going to be there a half hour and he said no problem he would keep the car parked close...he did and I didn't have to pay to park...just a valet tip.

The inside looked a little older but was still nice. They had a very nice, modern fountain that you could sit by and have drinks. The bar was crowded but sitting out in the nice lobby with our drinks was ideal.

I can't vouch for staying overnight or their rooms but grabbing a drink was cool.

Where was MY champagne at check in?

Not that it was an issue when I wasn't expecting it, but now I feel short changed.  But regardless, I was here for a conference and the rooms sufficed:  clean, well up kept, and enough space on the desk for me to get all my work done and myriad of devices plugged in and charged up.

The conference facilities were fine, and everything went smoothly on that end, so for those purposes I'd give them a thumbs up.

Otherwise, I would just have to say that the room service menu was a bit sparse, but I was particularly annoyed with the strategically-positioned basket of (expectedly) overpriced treats that seemed to be calling out to me every 5 minutes.  Plus, they are sneaky and hide the price list WAY in the back, so you probably wouldn't find it until you had gobbled through $58 worth of snacks. Well played, Omni, well played.

I have stayed here several times and have been pleased with my stay every occasion. The staff is always very friendly and courteous upon check in. I have never had any issues with the room, checkout or anything during my stays.

The hotel lobby is very nice and well decorated. There are various chairs and couches around where you can relax and people watch over the pool. It is open with a lot of light inside and makes you feel warm and cozy being there.

Rooms are decent size and well appointed also. Plenty of furniture in them, with all the amenities you could need. There is even a minibar if you are so inclined but beware of the prices. Ouch!!! Bed is nice and comfortable and I have slept great every time I have been here. Bathrooms are good size and shower has great water pressure.

The pool area is also terrific. It can get a bit crowded on the weekends, but during the week it is not bad at all. They have a bar/snack bar there where you can get drinks and adult beverages while you relax by the pool. I spend quite a bit of time at the pool while I am staying. Shade is a premium here though so go early if possible to stake out your spot.

Fitness center is also great. Plenty of machines to keep you busy. Walking on the treadmills also allows you too look out onto the pool and pond area. A nice distraction while you are working out. They also have nice cold lemon water there for you to enjoy after your work out.

The only downside to this hotel and the reason for the star removal is parking. Unless you valet, you either have to pay to park across from the hotel and a pretty far walk or park in garage and walk even further. I usually park in the garage for free because you are going to be walking anyway so might as well not have to pay to walk. Other than that this hotel is great.

Top of the line hotel. The staff treated us like family although this was our first stay. For our wedding anniversary they set up the room with a complimentary plate of tiramasu and personal note from the room manager.

Next morning we hesitated a bit on doing breakfast buffet as these tend to be overpriced and a cattle drive. This one is different. The wait staff are genuinely interested in making the experience great.

My wife ordered from the menu. And I went for the trough. Egg white omelet was outstanding. She had eggs Benedict. Although good, she doesn't like egg done over easy (why did you order eggs Benedict darling?).... She didn't complain but the waiter (nice guy) watched from across the room; came over and said he noticed she was not eating the egg yolk. Was something wrong?  Long story long, they replaced the dish with her alternative (grits....I hate them but that's not the point).  Ticket comes and there was no charge for her entire breakfast. They didn't mention. Just didn't charge.

WOW, Hotel Omni... You get it. Thanks.

Wow... I don't usually review hotels until I finish my stay, but after 5 minuets here I don't think this place has any chance to recover.  I have never had a hotel book me a room on a floor in the middle of extensive renovation, but would never guess the first to do so would be the Omni. Outside of our room looks like a construction area. The halls and room smell like paint, and I swear if the AC doesn't stop rattling I'm going to go insane. I wouldn't expect this kind of experience from a Days Inn.
I suppose it would be a good way to make a quick buck off of some unsuspecting guests from out of town in the days prior to the Internet, but these days this kind of move isn't even good for your bottom line.
Fail on all fronts!

Update: So much for sleeping in this morning... given the overall situation I'm not too surprised to be woken up by the sound of painters tearing off chunks of drywall outside my door early Saturday morning!

Not a bad place to stay.  I had a couple nights stay here recently and found it to be a clean and pleasant place to stay on business travel.

Polite staff to greet you and rather large rooms throughout.  The parking is either self or valet but both are pretty expensive so be prepared for that.  The valet was really quick to get the car though so at least it is relative to the service.

They have a bar and place to eat.  I didn't really try either so I can't comment other than I had a few beers in the bar and the service was fine and they actually had a decent selection to choose from.

The hotel is rated 5 star everywhere, but certainly that does not seem true. The Self Parking is a definite letdown. You expect to feel like a queen staying in a 5-star hotel. However, this queen needs to bless her subjects waiting to ogle at her from the pool, gracefully climb down a flight of gentle stairs before climbing up a few for a change.
The service was pretty good and so was the interior and room maintenance.

I am sad to give this hotel 2 stars.
The reason i am giving this hotel 2 stars is because of the view we received consisted of a Scott free view to the construction site.. And to top it off they were working when we checked in so you could hear the noise all the way on the 7th floor. I called the manager never got threw to him never got any acknowledgement from him about that specific matter. Guest service advised me that there were no other rooms they could move me too because they were all booked. Basically I had to put up with it..

So I got a cute kids room, my kids would have loved 10 years ago, stars on the ceiling, little beds and Dr Seuss board games... the worse was trying to use a tiny desk to actually do some work...

I blame half of this on my travel agent PEAK Travel, who can't seem to figure out how to give the hotel my Platinum Status so I get none

Stayed here for just one night this weekend to celebrate my birthday. We loved our room. It was clearly on one of the already remodeled floors, and it was gorgeous. Lovely bedding, nice wooden headboard, large comfortable chair. We had a corner room with a great view of the pool area. The weather was overcast so we never made it down to the pool, but it looked fantastic from what we could see.

The lobby is nice, and although there was a lot of construction going on outside the hotel, as well as indoor remodeling, we were never bothered by noise. Everyone was ready and willing to go the extra mile, probably in an effort to even out the eyesore of the construction areas. They never bothered us but could have been upsetting to some.

The valet was quick and ready to go, and our car was always waiting when we called down for it.

The location is amazing, just blocks from the Galleria and a short drive to the museum district, movie theaters, and more. Great place for our date night stay!!!!

We got a good deal through hotels.com --especially for a 4-star hotel.  Came to realize I've stayed here for work in 2009.  It's 2014 and it is still remodeling!  Self parking is under construction so the parking garage next to the hotel was a walk...but luckily, there is complimentary golf-kart shuttle to/from hotel (if you catch them at the right time).  One time the guy was driving so fast our luggage flew off the golf kart, but ok. We let that go.  At first they placed us in the room where you can hear the construction noise.  I called the front desk & asked if I would be hearing it all weekend. He said, "only from ~8 am-5 pm."  Only huh?  Since we wanted this to be a romantic getaway weekend we asked to be moved to another room. The guy sounded annoyed but switched us to the pool view room (which was very nice---and quiet)!  At first we also requested a microwave. Since we switched rooms, we told the guy (which was at our door the moment we were walking to our other room).  He never showed up.  We didn't bother to ask them again.

I must say the lobby is nicely decorated.  Pool is probably one of the better looking hotel pools I've stayed in.  It can get quite crowded!  There was one day where they had a checklist to make sure only guests were allowed at the pool area, but for some reason the rest of our stay they didn't check again.  Even with the privacy tag on the door, we still got a knock on the door from housekeeping. Fortunately, they did not try to come in anyway---like some hotels.

Overall, it's a pretty clean, secluded hotel with an awesome pool (and attached pond), surrounded by trees and greenery.  Great location: close to the Galleria and major highways.  Service was iffy.  Complimentary shuttle within 2 miles of hotel. Did not use this service.

Everything was clean and OK - but this was described on hotwire as a boutique 4 1/2 star hotel.  The Omni is a nice, large business hotel but nothing here was boutique or particularly luxurious.  Parking was included in room - which was favorable.  My wife checked in and the singular staff member on duty was friendly and helpful.  The bedding was new and the beds were comfortable.

Came in town and only stayed one night.  Man, had I wish there was more time to stay here.  Such a cool hotel with great service and so many amenities I lost count.  Connected to the Galleria, which was a surprise to me, so that really was awesome!!  Biggest draw back? Takes almost an hour to get in and out of valet/mall during high traffic times due to congestion from mall, city traffic, hotel, and possibly lots of confusion from valet.  For example, at one time leaving hotel valet pulled my vehicle up, parallel parks it between two other cars and says I'm good to go.  Good to go? okay, except another valet pulls up after first valet and I was locked in for about 15min.  I was too confused to actually be upset so kind of just laughed at the stupidity of the events occurring.  Not sure if valet is part of the hotel or mall but definitely a slight blemish on an otherwise awesome location.

The best and freshest breakfast buffet in Houston.  This is one of my favorite spots for a leisure weekend breakfast.  The highlight for me as with most onmi hotels is their fresh berries.  Almost always you can get fresh blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and blackberries.  You can put them atop oatmeal or cerebral for a healthy start to your breakfast.
Omelets are made to order and they always have the tasty blueberry maple sausage and great crisp bacon.
You have the option to self park free and take a stroll across the gorgeous grounds and lake on your way to the cafe for breakfast.  The view from the cafe across the pool and park area is very serene on a pretty weekend morning. This is a hidden gem since as a local most don't head to a hotel for breakfast but is worth your trip.

During our stay, we used the fitness center and pool facilities. The fitness center had a great selection of equipment and a great view from the windows. We enjoyed our afternoon by the pool. The lounge chairs were comfortable and the pools were refreshing and clean.

Additionally, the spa experience was outstanding. I received a facial from Nicole. The locker and relaxation rooms were luxurious and fully stocked with amenities and snacks. I go to a lot of spas around the country and this spa was definitely one of the BEST I have ever experienced. I felt like I was in an exotic location. The facial was thorough, relaxing, and effective. My face felt amazing for several days after. The product used was very high quality.

We enjoyed breakfast at the hotel and room service. Everything was wonderful! We'd love to stay here again, if we are ever in Houston again!

Good hotel with convenient location (based on my one trip to Houston). It was less than a mile from where I had a meeting scheduled and less than 20 miles from the airport.

Staff was nice and the lobby had what appeared to be a nice bar/lounge. I didn't stop there to try it because I got in late and needed to get in some prep time for my meeting the next day.

I ordered room service for breakfast and was underwhelmed. The "Greek Yogurt" would have been $1 off the shelf at a grocery store.  The bagel was equally unimpressive.

I encountered an HVAC issue that appears to be common south of the Mason-Dixon Line during what passes for winter. The room was about 45 degrees (okay it was really 55-60 I estimate) without any means to make it warmer.  The HVAC had only one mode: cold air blown into all parts of the room at all times. The thermostat controls indicating that it could be made warmer were like the "close door" button on an elevator, for decoration only. My only option was to power it off. So dress warmly if you stay here.

An upscale workmanlike hotel for an upscale businessperson.

I'm kind of ambivalent about the hotel.  The service and friendliness of the staff, and the facilities themselves are great.  My room was spacious, attractive, and comfortable, and as an elite loyalty member they did the most phenomenal job.  Omni hotels are very nice in general, and this one well represents the brand.  I'd add that they've renovated the place in the past few years so it's a bit nicer than when my family stayed here quite awhile ago.

BUT...the location leaves much to be desired.  It's sort-of convenient to the Loop, and you can shoot up Woodway/Memorial toward town...so maybe if you live in Memorial/Washington Corridor and have guests in town you can put them here--as long as they've rented a car.  But if you're here for the Galleria, stay there.  If you're going to Montrose/Heights, downtown is a better bet.  There isn't much at all (anything?) walkable.

If you're looking for a nice place to stay and nothing to do, this is it.

Unknowingly, we booked a business trip during one the of the busiest conference weekends in Houston - OTC. The room rate was astronomical at $600/night! I assume that's close to triple the regular rate. SMH. The hotel was nice though and I was impressed with the size of my king room and bathroom. The fitness center was also impressive. It was bigger and better than a lot of hotel or even apartment complex gyms. There were a lot equipment, free weights, mats, towels, water, mirrors and windows that overlooked the pool and outdoor areas. I had the buffet breakfast one morning with my team of 5. Who would have thought we would need a reservation at 7:30am at a hotel dining room? The place was packed! They were able to accommodate us but seriously every table was occupied and we needed to make sure we would clear out by a certain time before the next reservations. In the evening we went to the bar to debrief, watch sports and have a drink of course. I tried a Manhattan they had featured and ugh... it was painful to choke down. I had a nightcap of coffee with baileys that suited me much better.

Overall it was a nice hotel and I would stay there again. But it's definitely not a $600 per night hotel.

Let me start by saying that I like Omni Hotels. Don't think this is a bias report, but wanted you to understand that.

Arrived Friday afternoon to the hotel. Self Parking is right in front of hotel but it is not attached. It was raining upon arrival but fortunately we didn't get too wet. Reserved a 2Q bedroom. Because I checked in online my room key was waiting for me.

Hotel seems to be older but still has class. Complimentary wine and snack was set up for guests in lobby. Room has large bathroom with sink sectioned from toilet/tub.

Sometime during the evening, we had turndown service of our room with bottles of water. Nice touch for coming back from long evening of fun.

Did not use the wifi so can't speak to that. I know I had neighbors next door but didn't hear them which means the walls were not thin.

Called down for one item I forgot and they quick got it to me. Daughter has room service and was satisfied. Plenty of machines in fitness ctr. Pools (there are 2!) looked beautiful.

Why the 4 not 5 you ask?  There needs to be a covered option for self park. When I arrived and chose self park, I didn't know there wasn't a covered walkway to the hotel.  This would have been a very bad visit if I got caught in the rain in my formal vs the jeans I was wearing.
