This was the worst experience I ever had in any hotel, the first night I arrived the A/C wasnt working and woke up at 5:00 am in the morning in a deep sweat. Then the second day I went to the room to take some food and stick it in the refrigerator at 500 pm and the bed hadnt been made yet,so went to the front desk asked them why hadnt the bed been made yet, they said that they would tell housekeeping to make it when I was leaving again, arrived back to the hotel and 12:30 am and the bed still wasnt made and housekeeping never came in to clean,I was exhausted and over this hotel.Called the front desk to complain, asked them what kind of a hotel am I staying in.You could never get a supervisor either,or he would never get back with me!This is was a very bad experience and gave me anxieties and will never stay in this dirty hotel and the houskeeping has bad attitudes and so does the front desk!Dont waste  your time staying here.1-----------

I stayed at this hotel for almost a month on business and could not have had a better experience. Staff members were friendly, courteous and professional. They went out of their way to help me with things and were very accommodating of all my extra demands resulting from an elongated stay. The room was clean, sheets were crisp, and housekeeping did a great job with the regular upkeep. Minifridge and sink included in each room, and I managed to get a microwave as well. I highly recommend the grilled cheese through room service and the breakfast buffet (a little pricey, but really well done and comes with eggs made to order). Also, there was free Showtime! My only complaints are (1) the close proximity to the freeway (request a higher floor that doesn't face it); (2) the wifi was pretty slow; and (3) there were a lot of added expenses on my final bill for services I didn't order, but they took care of this right away. Overall, this was a great find and I highly recommend.

Does the job. Great location, other than the traffic; somewhat difficult to get to the location, because of one-ways and high speeds. Staff: as usual, the front desk is less than capable but the cleaning staff polite and helpful. Pool is useless and room is coming apart. Fridge with no microwave? What genius came-up with that? Valet parking is worth the cost, especially if you come and go frequently.

I was here for a week because of the proximity to the event. It matched my expectations. I wasn't expecting the St Regis or the W. The rooms were relatively large, and the restaurant was decent. Room was cleaned well. The hotel provides complementary wi-fi. It does charge for parker (about $12/day). Its proximity to the Galleria turned out to be helpful. My only complaint is that the walls connecting the rooms may be a bit thin as I was able to clearly hear my neighbor.

This was a very nice hotel located super close to the Galleria Mall.  The suite was very spacious ans the staff helpful to the utmost.  We went during a time when it was chilly so we didn't get to enjoy the pool or hot tub.  Maybe next time!

We stayed here using points.  We misread that there wasn't a club.

The room was nice and we enjoy having a suite.  The staff was attentive and friendly.  It was nice to get free wifi.

I would say that it does need a renovation soon.

Right off the 610 freeway. There really is not a good hotel that I like in the greater Houston area. With the Sheraton you at least get the Starwood points. Starwood hotels are by far the best hotel chain. I spend over a month each year in hotels so I know what I am talking about. But this one is good. You can walk to the Galleria Mall which is something to do. The gym is totally adequate and it has a little pool and hot tube. My room 10th floor room has an excellent view of the 610 free way so ask for a room in the back if you are a light sleeper. Each room is a suite so that is nice. You can sit on the couch and watch TV instead of the the bed.

We hung out here after the after wedding party.  The wedding party got a good deal for booking their after party at the bar/lounge near by.  The hotel is nice and the location is great, but the guests are lousy.  Don't get me wrong I'm sure some people stay here for business trips but don't expect complete silence on a Saturday night at 10 PM.  And don't come into the hall thinking you're somebody special.  RUDE!

    Some things I liked:

    *  The hotel is within walking distance of a Starbucks.  A must for me.  It is also in walking distance of the Galleria--high end shopping--and great restaurants.

    *  The internet was free--though pretty crappy.

    *  All the rooms are suites so you have a lot of space.  There are 2 TVs which is a bit unnecessary.  When I turned the TV off in the bedroom, the one in the living room would turn on.

    *  The bell staff were extremely helpful and polite.

    Some things I didn't like:

    *  If you flip through the 'In-Room Dining' menu, don't expect to pay the prices listed.  You pay the restaurant prices which are significantly higher.  I don't know why they keep the menu with the wrong prices in the room.  I felt completely shanghai'd but I was starving so I sighed and signed.

    *  The decor is dated and a bit tacky.  I like plush linens on my bed.  No duvet here folks.

    *  There was no in-room safe.

    *  No mini-bar either.

Eh, this place is okay.  I've definitely stayed in better.

Michael D., the reviewer below me did a good job of accurately describing the hotel room.  It was spacious and allowed for privacy if you wanted to close the French doors to the bedroom, but as my boyfriend said, "It just didn't give you that great, luxurious hotel room feel."

Also, I was incredibly annoyed that parking was not included in the hotel room price.  It was an extra $12.99 per day.  When I pay for a hotel online, I like all costs to be taken care of up front.  I don't like unexpected expenses.  That really annoyed me.

All in all, this is a decent hotel, but next time in the Galleria area, I'm going to try my luck somewhere else because there are plenty of hotels to choose from!

I really liked this hotel. The room was pretty impressive, the living room area had an actual comfy couch, and there were two flat screen t.v.'s. (One in the bedroom, of course)

Room service was quick, though the waiter a little strange.
The sirloin & stuffed shrimp dish from the Omaha Steakhouse was really good, and all the food tasted fresh. Housekeeping was impeccable, the room always looked perfect upon our return. Plus, they would leave us little gifts on the beds such as flowers and chocolate. So cute! Had to tip that lady..
The view was pretty neat too, we could see the sunset every afternoon from our windows.

There were of course some things that were a little funny, not too big a deal though. Like the fact that the table had one chair. One, really? Who does that, one chair? The table was big enough for four chairs, so not sure why not at least a pair. The breakfast buffet staff was nice, but some a bit snooty for my taste. Also the free wi-fi was kinda crappy. The parking is not free, which is pretty lame, to be honest. You'd think we'd get free parking when paying over six bills for a few days stay.

For the most part, a positive stay so I can't say I wouldn't come back.

This is a pretty average Sheraton, despite its "all suites" configuration.  It is well-located near the Galleria, but it's kind of hard to get to sits the only access is via a one-way frontage road right off the freeway.  Despite its proximity to the freeway, I didn't really notice any vehicle noise.  The staff was friendly and accommodated my late checkout request, though they did lock me out of my room before the later check out time.  Their shuttle driver gave me a lift to nearby Highland Village.  The room itself was fine - nothing special.  I guess I'd stay here again to get my Starwood points and because the Westin at the Galleria is so terrible.

I checked into a suite here after being moved by my company from the Sheraton Four Points Southwest location, which is horrible.

First I will start off by saying this location is much nicer. The staff were friendly and the food in the lobby wasn't bad. The room was very quite after 10PM and the beds comfortable. I could definitely stay here for a few days on business. They have a parking garage that is gated and staffed. So if you drive a nice vehicle you can have some piece of mind about its safety. They also have decent WiFi available at NO COST to you. I hit speeds of 12mb on my laptop in my room.

The only downside to this place was the location. At 5:00 it is nearly impossible to get here from downtown in under 30mins... The other negative was that this place isn't for kids or families. This is definitely tailored more towards business professionals. Which is fine but makes the establishment more client specific in that respect.

I give it 4 out of 5 as it wasn't an amazing place but a nice place for business.

I gave this hotel this star rating only because I feel like the room needs and upgrade. The closet was super small, the tub was super tiny, the wall paper was peeling and they need to put in two sinks. The reason I say this is because my husband and I were upgraded to a deluxe suit. The staff was very friendly, the stay was almost peaceful until a basketball team checked in for a tournament. Needless to say they were very noisy even though their rooms were on another floor.

The bed was super comfortable wish I could take it home with me. I would stay again.

I can't believe this place has a high a rating as it does. DO NOT STAY HERE! The rooms are huge yes, but they were decorated in the 70s and nothing has changed since really. The sofas are NOT comfortable. No cushion left to the cushions, dirty looking, etc. For the price I expected something much nicer. Transferred to the Hilton after 2 nights (of what was supposed to be a 6 night stay) because I couldn't deal with it. By far the dirtiest looking hotel room I have ever stayed in.

Also, I had dinner at the Omaha Steakhouse the first night. Not impressed. The burger was not good. The dessert wasn't much better. And the app (artichoke dip) was not impressive either. It was pretty cheap but that was the only positive (and as I'm from New York, my idea of "cheap" is probably not that cheap).

I stayed here for my first trip to Houston.  I had never visited the city previously and read previous reviews that the hotel was near a great location.  I definitely was not disappointed.  The hotel is located near one of the largest shopping areas in Houston, with plenty of non-clothing stores nearby.  A Starbucks is right around the corner and there is a gas station located conveniently down the street.  Compared to many other hotels in the area, the Sheraton offered complimentary wi-fi.  Although you pay for parking (like most other hotels in Houston), you only pay a daily fee and have in/out privileges. Nearby hotels charge you EACH time you leave and come back with your car.  This was extremely important to me since I had a rental car and many appointments during my trip that required me to leave my hotel several times a day.

I stayed in a King Suite and had more than enough room for myself.  The room included a small refrigerator, sink and coffee maker with complimentary coffee.  The living room area was sectioned off from the bedroom with sliding doors and both the living room and bedroom had a flat screen TV.  The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.  The hotel gives you access to four computers and a printer for free. I also needed to send a fax and one of the front desk receptionists sent it for me without any charge.  When looking for restaurants, the concierge was very helpful and gave me an entire binder for me to look through. There is a small bar where they make delicious martinis if you are in the mood for a drink.  An Omaha Steakhouse is located on the main floor, but I did not eat here.  I ordered room service one day (a salad and onion soup).  It arrived quickly and was delicious! Reasonably priced as well but they do charge you a tax and fee for delivery.

The ONLY reason the hotel gets 4 stars is because it's located on a one-way road off of the main highway near a major intersection.  I needed to wait 15-20 minutes at times to try to pull into the entrance of the hotel.  Just wish there was a quicker way for the busier days (especially because this place is near a major shopping area of Houston). Otherwise, I loved it here and would DEFINITELY stay again! :)

I was supposed to be at the Intercontinental Hotel nearby, but was rebooked into the Sheraton Suites instead.  I'm glad I was.  My suite was large, comfortable and quiet.

Unlike other large chains where wi-fi is an extra $10-$15 per day, it's free at the Sheraton.  Ditto for their business center where I was able to log in and print out an outline for a talk I was giving.

Staff was friendly, greeting me as I entered or leaving.  One thing, you don't come here for the view.  I was on the 3rd floor and was just above the roof.

Parking was $10 which is reasonable.

Here's the deal: If you're looking for roomy spaces for a visit, this place has it.  It also has free wi-fi.  The bedding is comfortable, and there's coffee in the room.  WIth the basics, covered, this gets an average rating of 3 stars.

Parking:  It's half price to valet park.  If you have a rental car, this should be fine for you, in fact, it's an advantage.

They have a pool and what appears to be a decent gym.  I wish I would have used it more. In fact, this alone should bump them up in my book.

However, I have an issue with the breakfast timing.  If someone from the Sheraton is reading this, go look out the front door around 5:30 in the morning.  See all the traffic rolling down the highway?  Yeah, Houston pretty much never sleeps.  Why is breakfast open at 6:30?  I needed to be on the road by then.

Also, I appreciate the breakfast tickets.  Have the waiter bring me coffee and GO AWAY.  No, I don't want the breakfast slider sandwich FOR THE THIRD TIME.  Bring me coffee, bring me a water, and then GO AWAY.  If anything, this has been what has bothered me the most on this trip - too much service (and not only here).  Fill my glass if it's empty, ask if I want another beverage, but please, leave me in peace.

I could give a rip about the quality of the sink and furniture in the room.  I need a place to crash and maybe watch TV.  Make sure the remote works, and have nice bedding and I'm straight!

Perfectly adequate hotel, but two stars because I wouldn't stay here again. I've stayed in much nicer sheratons (worse too) and this one is a little below average. There are other starwood hotels very close by that I would try before going back to this one.

We stayed two nights using points. 7000 per night is way too high for the quality of this hotel. Maybe the location drives the points value here? It was clean but that's about it. Tired, outdated furniture, a leaking sink that I'm sure developed the mold that had us all sneezing and sniffling all weekend, and no microwave? What's up with that? The only option for breakfast was the Omaha Steak Grill where breakfast for my family of four would have been $60 plus. Free internet was nice, $14 per day parking was not so nice. As a gold member there were very few perks other than two bottles of water.

If you're traveling solo and need a clean place to stay, this will do the job. But make sure you get a deal on price or you will be underwhelmed.

I enjoyed my stay at this Sheraton. I liked that it was near the Galleria, so it was near everything else.

I believe all the rooms are suites, so there's a living room and separate bedroom. Very nice. The only thing I didn't like was the couch. It's made from a weird material that made my skin itch. On the other hand, the bed is very comfortable.

I can't remember if parking was free or not.

This is a decent hotel. It's not fantastic but it's certainly solid. The rooms overall are clean and while older the place is pretty well taken care of. I would have preferred a larger bathtub/shower and one of those curved shower curtain rods but that's kinda minor. The sheets were clean and the rooms well maintained and when I had some minor issues in my room with a lamp and the TV maintenance was there in minutes. The front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating and really went out of their way to be friendly and hospitable as well. The Tuxedo restaurant was delicious as well and the staff there were great.

This hotel is pretty nice, located off a main highway and right next to the Galleria.

Originally booked for a King Suite with a sleeper sofa and did not get as such. Spoke to the lady at the front desk, who was very apologetic, and got that cleared up right away with no problems. My new room was on a higher level, but it didn't get as much sunlight and was kinda musty. The king bed was separated by the rest of the suite by two sliding doors between the bedroom and the living room, where the sleeper sofa is. The suite itself was pretty small, especially after you pull the sofa out. They could definitely update their furniture and decor though!

There was a weakly powered mini fridge inside the room with vending and ice machines down the hall. The water pressure extremely high, which was good for the shower, but terribly bad for the sinks. The water in the room were not complimentary so I left them alone and bought water at CVS instead.

Traffic was pretty bad around this area (probably because it was right beside a HUGE mall), but I never had to wait more than a few minutes from the interstate exit to make my turn into the hotel. Nor did I have a problem leaving, as people were always kind enough to stop and let me out. Now, if only ATL-ians had that sort of courtesy ha! Noise level wasn't bad -- couldn't hear traffic or anything, but there were issues of loudmouths just chilling in the hallway, occasionally.

Self parking is typically $14 per day, but I only paid $7 per day.

There was a pool, jacuzzi, and gym open for guests, but I never had any time to check those out. I did see people utilizing the jacuzzi, though, on my way to and from the self parking lot.

You don't stay here for the view.. no sir. You stay here for the close proximity to everything. My view was actually of the mall and Jamba Juice was pretty much right outside my window.

Oh, and one cool option they offered here - there was a tag you could hang on the outside of your door to indicate refusal of turndown / maid service. In return, you get a bunch of points that you could use for your next trip. I was staying for a few nights and dislike having people come in and out of my room anyway, so I killed two birds with one stone with that one. Score!

They do not offer any free breakfast options, though there is a (steakhouse) restaurant downstairs. Even the coffee they had on the table wasn't free. :( The only thing free here is their wifi, which was nice. They have an interesting, secure way of making sure their customers are the ones who are using their wifi and not moochers --  they need you to sign in using your last name, room number, and number of nights you're staying.

As far as hotels go, this one is pretty decent and I would stay here again.

I typically stay in Hilton Hotels, but the boss wanted to stay here since he's SPG Lifetime Platinum and it was the cheapest decent hotel downtown--at a steep $220 night. This was probably one of the worst expensive hotels ever. I asked to change rooms because I thought I received a smoking room by mistake, only to find out that all the rooms smell like that (it's a smoke-free hotel). The old musty smell was complimented by the well-worn furniture that has seen better days. The whole suite just felt it needed a remodel, and even little details, such as the quality of the toiletries, felt cheap.

We also had their $17.95 breakfast, and my egg white omelette was so watery I asked them to make it again, which was even more undercooked the second time. The fruit selection was good, but I found myself pick out the ones that had mold.

Nevertheless, the staff was friendly and attentive.

Finally, stay away from the canteen. $4 for floss.. Wow.

This is a standard hotel. It's a pretty big hotel that's relatively close to the downtown area. It's actually right next to the freeway.

The rooms were pretty normal. Everything was clean and things looked relatively new.

The wifi was free, but did not work in the room. The business center came in handy as I was able to browse the web and print out my boarding pass free of charge.

Amenities include a pool, gym, and free shuttle service. The negatives are that you have to pay for breakfast and parking.

It was a positive hotel stay.

Let me start off by saying that we came to Houston for medical reasons, we arrived at the Sheraton suites early last week and we planned on staying for 9 days. Since the moment we arrived we were welcome to this hotel by the front desk ladies refusing to accept our reservations because, my brother had done me the favor of making them for me even though I had prepaid for the rooms with my card. One lady of Latina decent (very short height wise she said she was the supervising manager) was extremely rude and I even made me contact my brother in a different country just to check in, and she even took it upon herself to try and cancel my reservation (of course she said that it could take up to 30 days to be refunded). Finally she agreed to give us our room, yet some how the front desk lady couldn't just let it go so she says that only one of our rooms was ready but the other room won't be ready for three hours. She then said "if you don't like it I'd be more than happy cancel your reservation." Overall it took us an hour and a half to check in to one room, it took us 4 1/2 hours to finally have both rooms. Unfortunately it didn't end there every time we walked through the lobby we could see this lady mean mugging us, it got to the point that we did not feel safe, finally today I was able to secure another reservation at a different hotel. We usually visit Houston every other month and we used to stay here. Let me be clear by saying we will NEVER stay in this hotel again. I really hope someone finds this useful and hopefully this feedback will help, for now I am very happy to be out of this hotel. The only positive aspects are that the valet and room service people were very nice.

I am in Houston almost weekly on business.  For years, this has been the hotel of my choice.  It is in a great location, offers reasonably priced self-parking, the staff is amazing, every room is a very nice suite and everything is well maintained.

I am a Starwood Platinum member and most of the staff recognize me as soon as I come in.  They make sure I have everything I need, and if I have any issues, big or small, they are EXTREMELY responsive.

The rooms are large.  Sitting room with a couch and work area and nicely sized bedroom.  There is a sliding door in between for privacy.  The air conditioning is quiet, cool and consistent.  The wi-fi is amongst the best I experience as a 'road warrior.'

The lobby an community areas are very well kept.  I would definitely say this property is ideal for a business traveler or group.

The Club Room is nice.  I do wish they had a bit of a better 'on the go' selection of health food.  Maybe some breakfast bars or more fruit.  Otherwise, it is terrific.

When it comes to business travel, this is about the best value you are going to find.  Other hotels in the area are MORE expensive and NOT as nice!  How can you go wrong?

I stay at Sheraton/SPG properties 90-120 nights a year and I'll NEVER stay at this one again.

My girlfriend checked in late at night (before I arrived).  While she was at the desk another young woman asked to have a security person escort her to her room.  The reason was soon obvious.  Minutes later, my girlfriend was followed to the elevator doors by a vagrant who had been waiting in the lobby.  He was a young man obviously up to no good, and mumbled something scary to her.  She screamed at him and he stepped back as the doors closed. When she went down to the lobby the next morning (many hours later), HE WAS STILL THERE SITTING IN CHAIRS RIGHT OUTSIDE THE ELEVATORS! She alerted the front desk, who reviewed their security tapes and saw that he was regularly attempting to follow young women onto the elevator, and had the vagrant arrested.

The lobby isn't large, there aren't places to hide.  They saw him there for hours, knew there was a concern with him being there, and didn't care to do anything about it.

It's one thing for hotel management to let some minor points of cleanliness slide, but to operate an establishment where young men feel the environment is ideal for assaulting women goes beyond simple incompetence and ventures fully into criminal conduct.  Don't trust these people with your safety, let alone your business.

The room is very nice, but I probably wouldn't stay here again.

Nice large rooms, very clean. Loved that part.

    Parts I didn't like:
I could only get double beds, Kings were out, so I either had to sleep squeezed up next to my other half or we had to sleep I Love Lucy style in 2 different beds. Annoying.

The TV keeps shutting off by itself, and the menu doesn't work, like at all. Every time it goes off I have to fight to find my channels again that I was watching.

The door on my room doesn't always self latch. I noticed this problem after sitting with my door cracked open for 8 hours.

Getting into the parking here is kind of a pain (understatement) at rush hour as there is only one entry. There really is nothing that can be done about this from the hotels perspective, but for other guests, you may want to plan accordingly.

Internet is very slow. Its free, so can't complain too much, but I would pay for an upgrade if it was available.

Overall it gets just a meh from me. They did such a good job with the rooms, I am not sure why they don't just go a tiny bit further and really make this hotel worth staying at.

Lately (first quarter of 2014) the rates have been insanely high, but on par with most of the hotels in the immediate Galleria area. I understand the nature of competitive rates, but rates should reflect, at least in part, the quality of the hotel. The rates I've experienced so far this year at this Sheraton are far too high for what you get.

The location is decent if you can easily navigate the 610 access roads and Texas-turnarounds (as you can only access the hotel via the 610 access road). A minute drive to the Galleria and a couple of minutes drive to at least 100 restaurants and stores. Also, very easy access to highway 59.

I booked a Deluxe Suite. I attempted to discern what separates a "Deluxe" from a regular suite, but I think I failed. All rooms seem to be exactly the same. The only item in the online description of the Deluxe Suite that differs is "Deluxe Bath Amenities". This got me excited! Maybe something better than the typical Sheraton stuff that leaves a lot to be desired. Nope. Same stuff. Ugh.

The lobby is nice. A few areas well set up to sit with your colleagues to chat and/or pound away on your laptop for a bit. My confusion progressed after getting to my room. Everywhere you read, they tout their recent big buck renovation. Maybe my room missed out? I really don't see it. Everything, while certainly not in horrible condition, is outdated by at least ten years.

Lastly, my room had a door connecting it to the room next door. Certainly super convenient for people who rent adjoining rooms, but not me. I could hear everything this guy did, including flushing the toilet. You should also know that they desk in my room just so happened to be placed right next to this door--so my neighbor surely was able to hear every single part of the 10 some-odd conference calls I took from my room.

Parking is $16 overnight with in/out privileges. Funny thing, though - I went in/out several times and the gates were always open.

I'd much rather stay at one of the other Galleria properties.

I've always enjoyed a great stay at Sheraton Suites.

A really good hotel, clean with spacious nicely appointed rooms and a friendly, helpful staff. I also liked its location near the Galleria Mall which was just about as handy as it gets for shopping.

I also liked their computer area which was very well set up in the lobby and near the front desk.

It's typically what I would have expected from a Sheraton to which I would generally only award Three Stars but because of its roominess, decent restaurant, rather good bar and location, I'm tossing in an extra star.

I can't tell you how awesome these people are.  I was sick one day and they brought me gatorade and soup and asked me if there was anything they could do to help.  They actually went to the store to buy me gatorade cause they didn't have it here,  now that's service.  Thumbs up to these guys.

    The Hotel saga continues...

On the 4th and last night of our Houston stay, upon our arrival, there were 4 fire department trucks and 2 police SUV's parked outside of the hotel at 11:30pm. Well, great! I guess we will not be staying here tonight... as I wait in the car while my bf is trying to figure out accommodations for the night. I ask a few of the guests outside of the hotel waiting with their pets, what happened. Apparently there was a smell, which everyone was concerned that it was a gas leak. So an hour goes by, as we wait for the fire department to clear and test each floor while the first floor is being aired out. We were finally told that everything is clear and we can go into the hotel. As I walked in, the lobby reeked of gas. We ask the front desk if this is safe, and she said yes ("It was just a smell"), as the fire department was leaving.... Ummm... Ok. It was after 1 am, and we were tired, and wanted to crash... we ended up staying there still.

We got to our room, which was actually a really nice room. It was a King suite, with a living room area, and a wet bar. Two large flat screen TV's, one in each room, and a bathroom vanity area big enough to put a roll away bed there. The room was very clean and comfortable. The pillows and bedding were ok, nothing super fancy, and not horrible.

Guests have access to the business area to use the computers to check email or print plane tickets.

We were just glad we woke up the next morning, hooray! We made it through the night alive!

This place was nice. We didn't get to try out all the bells and whistles of the hotel but the place was great. We arrive late from spending Thanksgiving weekend with my Brother in San Antonio. My girlfriend and I got there close to midnight. We had left late and we were ready for some sleep. Unfortunately we arrived to what looked like if the hotel was burning down. There must have been at least 4-6 fire engines lined up from the hotel front door lined up to the next hotel. I couldn't say exactly how many but as I walked into the hotel. It looked infested with Firefighters. The chief was at the front desk coordinating with the Night manager. I was tired and so was Julie. I asked her to wait at the car while I found out what was going on. There was a gas smell in the first floor. I smelled it as I walked in the hotel. Brave as I was / being tired I walked up and waited to be addressed by the desk clerk. It took a bit of time but I was getting all the info since I was next to the chief. They had sent different teams in search of the gas smell. They had their sensors and they were in full gear. As tired as I was, I was excited about what was going on. I was the first person to find out that it was not gas. They had found any trace of gas. They had checked all floors and turned off the gas in the kitchen. They had walked up all the flights of stairs and checked the surrounding area of the building. It was a smell. But they said not gas. They put on a fan to air out the lobby.

I was attended by a lady. She gave us our room and she looked relived. We took the elevator up to the 11 floor. My girlfriend was nervous. She smelled the odor when she came in. It was late and we were tired. Also the Chief had said it was fine.
We walked in and it was a great room. A 2 room king suite with mini bar and 2 tvs. The restroom was long and big. The commode was in a separate room and so was the shower tub. The bed was very comfortable and clean. Soft and firm at the same time. I think it was a California King. Our bed room was huge. It could easily accommodate another bed in there. The living room was cozy with sofa chairs and a big coffee table. we had huge windows to look out of. I look out that night to see the fire engines pulling away. Before we left we were able to use their huge business center. We didn't get up early enough for breakfast but they had a nice restaurant inside. This place was great. Like I said, we didn't get to try out al the bells and whistles. I'm glad we were able to sleep great. I didn't judge them for what happened that night. I only reviewed them for how they responded. Maybe next time we will be able to enjoy it to the fullest. Oh yes the Galleria is only 3 mins away.

As a Sheraton this hotel is typical. It's an all suite hotel so all the rooms are pretty large and have a living room area with a couch and usually 2 TVs. The staff is good and responsive to issues and they actually respond to surveys. Platinum recognition is what you would expect and nothing out of the ordinary.

The club lounge is small but has decent food options for breakfast and evening appetizers / snacks. The gym is ok mostly because not many people go there but you have free weights, maybe 5-6 treadmills and some other machines. They also have a pool and hot tub that I haven't tried. I have stayed here weekly for the last few months and have had minor issues. It's the only SPG property that is approved for my company so I have little choice in hotels. The location is good as it's close to the galleria mall and numerous restaurants and night life.

I haven't tried the restaurant in the hotel but seems pricey to me. Parking is extra but covered and usually plenty of space.
