Lamb's Rest Inn is located off the Guadalupe River in Grene, TX (short distance from New Braunfels).  We stayed here for an extended weekend last year and hope to go back again!  The house is beautiful and their backyard garden leading up to the river is breath taking.  We especially enjoyed waving at tubers as they passed by as we sat in the double hammock swing.  Breakfast was creatively put together each morning and the owners were incredibly friendly and helpful.   They also have a huge back porch that is great for a leisurely board game and coffee before starting your day.  This B&B is approximately 40 minutes from San Antonio.

How can I write a review when words fail me?  Are you tired of the fast-paced busy world?  Do you need to get away for awhile, and I don't mean just get away I mean GET AWAY?  Lamb's Rest Inn is for you.

I recently got married and as part of the wedding plans we discussed honeymoon plans, and we both wanted a B&B that was a little bit away, but not so much that we would spend the whole week driving.  At just an hour away from Austin, we thought New Braunfels looked good and after researching several there, we thought Lamb's Rest looked pretty good.

When we got there, we changed our mind to "looked VERY good".  We were quite early, but stopped in to see if anything around was open for lunch (we passed through Gruene and it looked like a place we wanted to visit might be open, but we were not sure).  We spoke with Judy who was amazingly nice and helpful, giving suggestions and even calling a couple places to make sure they were open.  This started our week of pure bliss.  After an ice lunch and some time in Gruene we returned to Lamb's Rest and our room was wonderful.  We got settled then went to the back yard to look at the garden, then down to the deck next to the river to just relax.  During our week there we spent a good amount of time on the back porch putting a puzzle together, or on the deck watching the ducks, fish, turtles, and even some wild turkeys across the river.  Words simply can't describe the wonderful feeling of peace we enjoyed.

Again, words fail me when it comes to the breakfasts.  There wasn't a single one that deserved less than 5 stars.  How often do you get a dessert with breakfast?  One of the days featured a dutch baby, and plenty of toppings to choose from.  I chose a selection of fresh fruit, my wife chose the apples, and of course we both had syrup.  Another day had a variety of three different quiches, and I regret not trying the spinach quiche, but the ham and cheese was too amazing to pass up.  A tasty way to start the day!

I could go on about the breakfasts, I could go on about the wonderful tranquil setting.  But I need to leave a little room to talk about the hospitality.  George and Judy really made us feel welcome and yet were not at any point even close to intrusive.  We thank them both for helping make our honeymoon a wonderful start to a happy life together.

We went to the Lamb's Nest inn to celebrate our Anniversary. It is located on the Guadalupe river. We watched turkey and Deer from the balcony. The room was quite and the AC blew cold. The room was very clean. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was gourmet however wonderful.

We stayed two nights and LOVED it. The welcome was friendly and warm. It felt like home away from home from the moment we arrived. Immediately, I knew, along with the rest of the house and property, that our room was clean. I usually feel a little creeped out walking on the carpet or using the bathtub, but every square inch was super clean. I felt very comfortable.  Oh, and homemade chocolate chip cookies were waiting for us.  The breakfast was INCREDIBLE! It was obvious  the owners put their heart into caring for their guests.

We stumbled across The Lamb's Rest Inn on Yelp! while we were on an impulse trip to Gruene. They were so kind on the phone and helpful with our last minute booking.

Gorgeous grounds, beautiful view, comfortable beds, soft sheets and delicious food! Everything you need to have a restful, intimate weekend. There are two decks looking right over the river, a hammock, a swing seat and plenty of seating outside to take in the view and relax!

I will absolutely come back-- we already have plans to book stays as gifts for family!

Quiet, serene, little oasis near Gruene. Loved the Lilycott Garden Cottage. Private little cottage separate from inn with private balcony and indoor Jacuzzi. They had wonderful Comphy sheets that I ended up buying and their soaps are amazing!!! Great escape. We will definitely be back.

They have set the bar for Hill Country B&Bs! I almost don't want to tell others about this little gem, it was so good! I was planning a romantic getaway with my husband and was torn between this B&B and a historic one right next to Gruene Hall, but after reading reviews about the other one being loud and dingy I went with my gut and picked this one. I do not regret my decision at all! It was so peaceful and secluded, perfect for couples looking to get away from it all while still being a short drive (or walk) to all that Gruene has to offer. We stayed in the Quilly's Antiques room. It was perfect as that it practically had it's own private deck on the second floor. The owners were sweet Christian people that prayed before every breakfast. We will definitely be back!
