I recently had the good fortune of staying overnight at the Montage Deer Valley.  From the moment I arrived until the moment I left, the service was polished, professional, and impeccable.  Upon arrival, I was greeted by a valet, two bellmen and a woman who had all of our reservation information in a leather notebook.  Rather than being directed to a check-in area, we were taken immediately to our beautiful guest room.  The guest rooms are large and bright.  The bathrooms are marble, with separate bathtub, shower, and toilet areas. The walk-in closet was huge. The bed is the most comfortable I have ever slept on.  Although our room was the least expensive, we had a fireplace, sitting area, and balcony overlooking the ski areas.  The room was spotless and included luxurious toiletries, as well as robes and slippers.  The rooms are private and quiet due to their careful layout.  The Apex restaurant and Vista Lounge are lovely and the service exceptional.  We really enjoyed the various pool areas, badminton court, and archery area. We noticed that the Hotel was continuously being meticulously maintained by various staff.   I did not get a chance to visit the spa, but will do so on a future trip.  When we left, we were given Montage "hats" and water bottles as we stepped into our car.  Honestly, I do not know how a hotel could provide a better experience than the Montage Deer Valley. I am not sure how the other area hotels can possible compete with Montage, but hope they have a plan.  On a scale of 1 to 10, I believe Montage Deer Valley earns a 12.

absolutely beautiful property with stunning views that look like they came straight out of a postcard wherever you look. the staff is incredibly attentive, polite, and personable. i found myself launching into interesting conversations with a good number of the staff that i encountered. there are TONS of activities to do outside and around the hotel, but if you do decide to stay inside whether it be due to an impromptu thunder storm outside or altitude sickness getting you down [the resort is 8000 feet above sea level], there are a bunch of things to do like bowling, archery lessons [pete is the man!], indoor and outdoor swimming pools, etc. the resort is very kid friendly with arcade games and wii consoles set up in daly's pub downstairs and family hours at the indoor swimming pool located within the enormous spa.  one of the best parts of this place is every night from 8-9 pm, you can go outside onto the patio and gather around a roaring fire pit to make s'mores and drink hot cocoa! they have homemade marshmallows in different flavors like cinnamon, vanilla, and peppermint. lastly, be SURE to try their signature hot chocolate complete with giant marshmallows, whipped cream and chocolate shavings - it will be the best thing you ever taste!

This is absolutely the most impressive resort I have seen and I have traveled often.  The location is almost literally unbelievable.  Situated high in the mountains, the resort has views from all sides that are spectacular.  The decor is very high quality but seems very simple and unpretentious at the same time.  I have never felt so comfortable at a resort of this quality.  The food also gets my highest reviews.  Try the Sundae at the Vista Lounge!  By far the best part is the staff.  Somehow Montage has hired staff that are friendly and genuine and far from being corporate robots that are programmed to say 'certainly' every time you look at them.  The staff are warm and competent and make you feel right at home.  Kudos especially to Sarah and Kurtis.  Thank you Montage.  We will be back many times.

Recently attended the Montage for a work conference and was amazed at such a luxurious and beautiful location to conduct business. The hotel is situated on a wonderful area of mountain that overlooks the Deer Valley. We were treated to a lightning show one night that lit up the night sky. It was amazing! At the end of the day was able to enjoy some drinks while admiring the beautiful surrounding. I am one day definitely bringing my wife to this wonderful place. Did I mention the chocolate croissants are absolutely wonderful?

The staff at Daly's Pub is amazing! We had a great time. They were so accommodating with my gluten and dairy allergies. The chefs surprised me with a gluten and dairy free pizza! I never thought a pizza joint would keep these ingredients on hand. And it was very tasty! Bravo! In addition the staff generously offered their expertise on games from shuffleboard to billiards, bowling and darts. We'll be back for sure.

The smores at The Vista Lounge are great for apres ski - they roll the smores out on the deck at 4:00.  You can sit outside around a fire pit and look up towards Deer Valley's cliffs and slopes.

This is the recently built luxury hotel backed by the original founder of ebay. With 1.1 Million square feet, it is a large resort, almost reminiscent of Nemacolin, with its bawling alley and a myriad of outdoor sports and leisure activities available to guests. The air in the rooms was a bit dry, and service outside the rooms was very good. The food at Apex was superb, but the environment lacked certain coziness, which is probably just a matter of time for this mega-resort.

Amazing property, tons if activities to keep you busy and the service was the best I've ever had. The only small critique I have would be the food was not the best, head to town for better selections and a proper good dinner. Everything else was so perfect though, I still need to give it a 5.

Fantastic!  We went with the kids and another family to the game room and pub in the downstairs of the Montage.  First of all, so fun!  Second the food was fantastic.  A couple of stand out's on the menu:

    *Soft Pretzels
*Mac n' Cheese (to die for)
    *Cesar Salad (really good)
    *Wings (DELICIOUS)

The only only only complaint is that when I ordered a drink it was about half full, but I later learned that is due to liquor laws in Utah as they can't pour more than a certain amount in each cocktail.  Probably needed to look half full in order to keep the balance of good taste.

This is a must visit if in Deer Valley or Park City with the family (or without).

This hotel, service and entire experience is spectacular as is the Laguna Beach location.  They are different in many ways as the Laguna Beach has more beach side cottages and Park City was built more for the  views and to take advantage of the mountain setting.    My experience at the Park City location was not as a guest there but as an interior designer decorating a residence in the sky rise that I thought was going to be challenging to say the least and the staff there made access very smooth and they were a delight to work with.  The deduction of the one star in this review is because of the restaurant Apex.  While waiting for the install to finish, we decided to eat at Apex which was disappointing.  We couldn't find anyone to seat us so we sat down ourselves but then couldn't locate a menu.  It was painfully slow getting anyone to help us and since it was off season there were not many people in the restaurant so service should have been better.  Thinking the food would be incredible at any Montage property like past experiences we were willing to overlook the lack of service in hopes the food would be superb and to our surprise, the food was not that great.  After lunch we wandered into the gift shop which was beautiful with many high end brands so we were in Montage heaven again.  Hopefully when ski season is in full swing, Apex will be up to par since competition like Ritz Carlton and Four Seasons are just down the street,  but I will definitely be back!

Just returned from Montage Deer Valley today.  I am not sure I can adequately put into words how wonderful this location and this new property are.  I have been to ski resorts in different parts of the world and this is as good as it gets!  The views, the warm decor, the layout, the spa, the game room, the 4 lane bowling alley, the ski in ski out, the valet ski service, the equipment,  the fireplaces, the food and the service are amazing. I would socre it higher if there were more than 5 stars allowed.

What is most amazing is how buttoned up this property is given it is only a few months old.  This will quickly become the most sought after location for real ski enthusiasts. It won't take long for this property to achieve a 5 Star rating!

Well done Montage!  I can't wait for my next visit!!

We attended the 'Joy & Eric' music evening, as advertised, on Sat evening between 2000 hrs and 2200 hrs. From the outset service was amateurish and more in accord with a 2 star hostelry than an alleged 5 star. The waiter failed to explain (made no effort) what food was available at the table, albeit the bar is designed for fondue and light eats. Eventually a manager came over and explained. He also explained that there was a private party starting at 2200, however, he stated clearly that nobody was going to be asked to leave. At 2110 hrs a different manager, dressed in old jeans and blouse came over to our table and told us we would have to start finishing up and leave. We duly finished our drinks and our assigned waiter took away our credit cards for payment. Whilst away a 3 rd manager appeared together with a smartly suited gentleman of some 300 lbs in weight, who then instructed us to vacate our table. We responded that we were actually waiting for the return of our cc cards. He made no response, turned away and after crossing the room went on to intimidate 3 ladies who were also enjoying Joy's music. We left. On a good note the valet at the main door was kind enough to organise courtesy transport. The evening was more reminiscent of a Broadway farce than the type of service one would expect from an alleged 5 star hotel. Amateurish, style less, rude and inconsiderate behaviour detracted from the enjoyment of our evening. On the upside, the driver was considerate and polite. My advice to those people wishing to use the Montage - stick to the courtesy transport only!!

This may be the best Hotel I have ever stayed at.

The Service is unbelievable - this was my third stay at a Montage Hotel and they are well know for offering best in class service.  With them, the customer is always right.  Everyone (and I mean everyone) is friendly and helpful.  I actually asked my wife "where do they find all of these nice people?"

The Hotel is beautiful, nestled in at Deer Valley the Montage affords you ski on and ski off privileges.  Compass Sports is the Hotel's ski equipment outfitter.  The friendly people here will get you and off the mountain with excellent rental skis and equipment.  They'll even help you to get your ski boots on and off.  I never took them up on this offer but plenty did.

The food is excellent.  Apex is the main restaurant and offers a breakfast buffet that is excellent (pricy but excellent).  Try the homemade granola.  I also has sushi at Vista and this was very good as well.  Every day at 4pm is Smores time just off the Vista lounge.  Head out at 3pm for tubing on the small hill in the back and out for Smores right after - the kids will love it.  The Montage even makes their own flavored marshmallows (of course they do) to supplement the traditional offering.  Daly's Pub is located just off the ski locker rooms.  Excellent pub fare and huge game room for the kids.  At least 4 Wi's, bowling alley, shuffleboard, pool and multiple arcade games make this a place for both kids and adults.  Try the soft pretzels and dip.

I did not try the Spa but my wife said it was the nicest one she had ever been too.  All guests have access to the Spa (sauna, workout, relaxation) without those ridiculous $40 day fees that you will find at other places.

The rooms are very nice and the beds extremely comfortable.  I believe the Hotel is just about one year old.  Prices are not cheap and this may be a once in a lifetime stay but I am telling you that you will not be disappointed.

The Montage at Deer Valley is a wonderful mountain resort.  Located at the base on Empire Mountain it has easy access to the Empire and Ruby lifts.  The Montage has certainly set a new standard for service and amenities at Deer Valley, which is already known as the #1 Ski Resort with incredibly high service levels.

The resort features several types of rooms and suites many of which can be connected to make multi-bedroom suites.  The rooms are large and comfy and all well appointed.  Home automation from Control 4 allows for easy all-room lighting access and other nice features.

Ski-in, ski-out access is perfect via Compass Sports, located on the 3rd floor.  Ski concierges greet you in the morning, help you put on your boots (which were heated and dried overnight) and get your skis ready just a few steps outside.  When you are done skiing just ski up and pop off your skis.  They will be stored for you and the concierges will fetch your shoes and help you change again.  They are also excellent at helping you obtain rental equipment right there - and very knowledgable.  If you want skis good for the well groomed trails Deer Valley is good for great - but if you want to switch another day to a great powder ski, no problem.

There are plenty of options for dining.  The high end restaurant is Apex which serves food typical of a fine dining establishment.  Apex serves skiers breakfast and lunch buffets.  Daly's Pub is more of a pizza and sandwich place, great for a quick lunch on the slopes or a quick dinner combined with fun in the evening.  The pizza and sandwiches are all at a high level and while dining you can enjoy bowling (yes, a 4 lane bowling alley), darts, billards or an assortment of video games and Wii's.

The Spa at Montage is nothing sort of amazing.  The men's and women's locker rooms each feature steam rooms, saunas, hot tubs and nice shower facilities.  Many rooms are available for the usual set of spa treatments.  The spa also features a fitness center and a shared, coed area with large, indoor lap pool and hot tub.  The spa's facilities (hot tubs, pool, fitness center, steam, sauna, ...) are free for guests.

Service throughout the resort is at the highest levels you will find.  Everyone is very friendly and will take care of any issue one may have.  One complaint, perhaps, is the housekeeping service is on the aggressive side picking up items occasionally making personal belongs hard to find by putting some left out clothes in drawers or shoes in closets.

With this level of service and amenities comes a price, literally.  Virtually all the services, from bowling to dining to spa treatments are priced at the high end.  To stay and experience the Montage be prepared to stop thinking about what everything costs and just enjoy it while ignoring the prices.  Anyone that needs to worry about cost should look to alternatives.

Love the Montage in Laguna Beach.  This was more like a high priced Hamptons Inn with a nice view.

The service was lousy, Heating/cooling in rooms did not work for me or 5 others in my group.  I spent 4 days there and was not impressed with anything about the service or staff.

Room service forgot to include knife, fork and napkin.

At lunch in apex, had to ask for menus, had to find our own sweetener.

Had major construction going on outside meeting room and could not hear anything.

I can't believe people give this place good reviews.  The service and the food are terrible.  I can't help believing that this is a case of the Emperor Wears No Clothes.  I've been coming to Deer Valley with my family several times a year and we don't stay at the Montage, we almost always end up there for at least one lunch or dinner.  Every time I go hoping that they've improved the food quality and service but each time it's actually worse than the last.

I've had a very expensive hamburger be undercooked with soggy lettuce and tasteless tomatoes.  The pizza in the bowling alley is chewy like its frozen or something.  The sushi is blah and again crazy expensive.

I really like the idea of having another great place to eat on the mountain - especially one as beautiful as this - but the food and service are the worst.

If you do not stay at the hotel and want to eat here, they do NOT help you with your skis.  This is not nice service.  The Ritz at North Star doesn't differentiate as long as you are a patron.  This is not cool.

I would give this property a three and a half if I could. I am a part time Park City resident, so I have never stayed in a room, therefore I can not speak about the room accommodations, but I have been to the spa several times and the restaurants on multiple occasions. The best way I can describe this property is that is still feels like a brand new hotel working some kinks out. The property is nice. I can't wait to see it in a few years when foliage and grass has grown in. During the summer, it still looks bare from construction. But the spa is wonderful and the food and beverage areas are comfortable and stylish.

The staff is also so nice and friendly, but the service is very slow. To the extent that during dinner we were chasing down waiters, going up to the bar to ask for things, and noticing that tables who had sat down after us were being served before us. The staff was always apologetic and accommodating when we had to ask for things, but when the restaurant isn't even full we shouldn't have had to ask in the first place.

In addition, on an occasion in the spa my group of a few women ordered lunch. I had thirty minutes before my next appointment. The spa staff acted like it would be impossible to order lunch in this time. I found this odd because all of the menu items were cold. They told me they could "rush" the shrimp cocktail. Thirty minutes later I had still not received it and had to go into my appointment.  I am still baffled by why this would take more than TEN minutes to prepare; It's cold shrimp and sauce.

My observations on my visits have led me to believe this property has good potential, but is either understaffed or needs more efficient food and beverage service. All that being said, my favorite part of the property is their basement bar with a bowling alley, pool tables, shuffle board, and wii consoles. I would definitely recommend a visit to this bar if nothing else!

I'm probably not rich enough to stay at the Montage, but I'd sure like to. I was there for a few days during Sundance working at a celebrity gifting salon and got to see some of the hotel. What I saw of the Montage was amazing! The place was beautiful inside with inspiring architecture and great decor. The staff was friendly and prompt. During the time I was at the Montage I got a short tour from one of the staff. The pub and game room downstairs, including blowing alley, looked like a lot of fun. For those who want to relax and enjoy a massage or dip in the pool, the mineral pool and hot tubs looked absolutely deluxe. Montage is the newest resort in Park City and appears to redefine luxury.

    really?

does it get any better than this?

world-class everything...ski on and off. great food---perfect service.

ski resorts in the US usually mean flying into an airport that is an hour plus away with winding roads...

fly into Salt Lake and it is all interstate---and the total drive is right at 40 minutes.

    you will love it.

Extremely disappointed!!!!! I cannot believe they charge what they do, and get away with the poor service and mediocre food. Corporate should seriously consider firing the GM and Executive Chef at this property. I came to this property seriously considering having my wedding here and could not have been more dissapointed. Where to begin.... I will start by saying the property it self is absolutely gorgeous. Beautifully designed and extremely spacious. Having your own lifts just outside the doors couldn't be more convenient. Unfortunately, that is where the positive commentary ends. To begin, the food at all the restaurants is over seasoned with cayenne pepper. The potato chips that accompanied many of the lunch dishes as well as the chili were indelible to the point of having to order a glass of ice water to deal with the heat. The Caesar salad lacked sufficient dressing and furthermore gave one of our guests food poisoning. The room service team is extremely understaffed and all food and drinks ordered from them arrived at room temperature. The waiters, while very friendly, could not have messed up more dishes on our 6 day stay. From forgetting to bring out dishes or drinks ordered, to not using common sense on when to bring out an appetizer or soup in the course of a meal (yes they literally tried to bring out or soup after our main course was served). Either the waiters and servers are undertrained, or the chefs do not know how to run a restaurant... probably both. To add on, one of our guests was having their birthday during our stay. After the friendly waiter butchered our dinner order, he then brought out a plate of 4 chocolates (the same 4 chocolates left in your room by the bed each night) on a plate and said happy birthday, without even bringing a candle. I dont know what is more pathetic.... the 4 chocolates or the lack of candle. An absolute embarassment. In regards to the housekeeping, apparently they think its normal to clean your room at 7:30 AM. If you do not put "Do not disturb" on the door, they will wake you up on your vacation every morning.

After reading this, if you still decide to stay here, I highly suggest eating all your meals in town.

We stayed here for our anniversary and can't wait to go back. Solid five stars for service. The room was amazing! Chocolate dipped strawberries with their logo monogrammed in gold leaf in the room. Smores with homemade marshmallows, incredible SPA, great little shops with unique treasures and breathtaking views. Amazing fine dining restaurant. All the little details that make a place a five star resort! The perfect getaway!

I, along with my husband and 10 year old daughter stayed at the Montage for five nights Tuesday 6/12 - Sunday 6/17.  We arrived at The Montage and were greeted with a choice of a stuffed animal for my daughter.  We were then escorted to registration.  After checking in, we were escorted to our room, which was on the first floor, Room 153.

There's only valet parking at $32/night.

When you walk into the spacious guest room, to the right is a sitting area with two sofa chairs and a round leather table, a small round table with a beautiful orchid, and a floor lamp.  The sitting area faces a fire place.  There are two Queen beds.  The beds had 400-count Egyptian cotton sheets and down bedding.

There's a work desk, table lamp, telephone, notepad, and pencil cup.
We had a patio with a beautiful view of the valley overlooking the grass activity lawn that has an archery range.  There were two chairs and a table.

To the left of the entrance is a five-fixture marble bathroom with double vanity, deep soaking tub, separate shower featuring rain showerhead and heated floors. There's a hair dryer, two glasses, cotton tips, cotton squares, sewing kit, shoe mitten, shower cap, and tissue.  Toiletries include Antica Farmacista brand cleansing bar (lemon, verbena & cedar), body lotion, and mouth wash.  In the shower, there was shampoo and conditioner.  By the bathtub was bath salts, cleansing bar, and a traditional Japanese style bath brush.  Hanging were two Montage hotel robes.  I have to say that the robes are the softest & most comfortable of all hotel robes I've tried on!

Straight ahead is a walk in closet with an electronic safe.  There were two luggage valets, iron, ironing board, and two pairs of hotel slippers.  There were wooden hangers, a shoe valet & show brush.

There's complimentary wireless internet access, a 42-inch LCD television and DVD/CD players.

All hotel guests have complimentary access to the Spa on the 4th floor, where there's an indoor lap pool and co-ed relaxation area, separate men's and women's relaxation areas and locker rooms, each with steam room and sauna.  There's also whirlpools and deluge showers.

There's also a fitness center on the 4th floor where they offer complimentary wellness classes, such as Bella Bar, Core Power Yoga, eLignaBar, HIIT Bootcamp, Mountain Evening Stretch, Mountain Morning Stretch, Restorative Yoga, Spin & Abvs/Roll, Spin & Trax, Surrender to Yoga, Turbo Kick, Vinyasa Yoga, Wasatch Mountain Core, and Yoga Dance Fusion.  The Mat Pilates class has a $15 fee. The fitness center is one of the most well-equipped centers you will find outside of a specialized training center.

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Spa and Wellness Center.  Wellness hours are 6am - 7pm.  And there's a Family Pool Time for the indoor pool 9 - 11am and 5 - 7pn.

The outdoor pool and private sundeck is on the 6th floor.  There's also a hot tub.

There is a "bakery/coffee shop" off the lobby that serves freshly baked bread, croissants, and the signature chocolate truffles that are also left bedside during turndown service nightly.   Michelle in the coffee shop was kind enough to heat up some leftovers for my husband and daughter from our previous dinner even though we didn't purchase anything.

There's Daly's Pub & Rec where you can eat.  There's four regulation bowling lanes; bowling is $10 per game, shoes are $5. Complimentary games are ping pong, two pool tables, two dart boards, shuffle board, and four Wii-game consoles.  There's also a vintage arcade.  Hours are daily 3 - 9pm (games available until 10pm.)

There are lawn activities daily 9am - 5pm.  Croquet, bocce ball, Frisbee golf, table tennis, biking and fly-casting lessons, soccer, etc.  You need to make reservations at Compass Sports.  We did archery and that was fun!  Kevin was a great instructor.

Every day 4 - 5pm, you can roast marshmallows and make s'mores at the Apex Lounge firepit.  They provide long roasting sticks, regular marshmallows, as well as homemade marshmallows (caramel, peppermint, vanilla.), graham crackers, milk chocolate and dark chocolate squares.

There's a complimentary shuttle throughout Park City.  For $70, we bought an Alpine Day pass, which allows unlimited rides on the Alpine Slide, Alpine Coaster and base activities like rock climbing, miniature golf, the Legacy Launcher, and a reduced $8 price (instead of $20) on the Zip Line.

Our stay at the Montage was amazing!  The service was fantastic!  There was always a Montage employee on the grounds offering to help you find whatever you're looking for.  It was a vacation we'll never forget!

I visited The Montage's pub and did not stay in this fine hotel. After skiing the morning at the magnificent Deer Valley resort it was time for lunch. My go-to place is The Royal Street Cafe but today I wanted to check out the pub.

You are greeted by a member of staff who directs you where to park your skis and points you in the direction of Dalys Pub.

In the basement you are greeted and then seated. The Pub is in the basement with no windows. There are two pool tables, dart boards, arcade games, flat scene tvs hooked up to Wii consoles and a bowling alley! Cooooool!!

The food is 5 star, I had a chicken panini on Friday and a salmon salad on Saturday. Both meals were fantastic, $16 & $19 respectively, not cheap but if you're skiing DV you've already committed to a large financial outlay already.  Kids ate Mac & cheese and homemade fries, equally great at $10. Of course they loved the consoles and it was a little difficult to praise them away after lunch.

The only negative for me is the location, no view of the outside, the walls are beige with no artwork/artifacts. It's very vanilla.

I'll go back because the kids love it, I'd prefer a view!

Worst resort I have ever stayed at.
The staff are rude and customer service is non existent. Was meant to stay here for 3 days after New Years but checked out early the next morning as I had had enough. The beds are so uncomfortable, the rooms cramped and the staff have no idea what they are doing.
I went to the bar and asked for a caipirinha only to be told by the staff that they are really busy and it will take too much time to crush the limes. I then opted for a Long Island ice tea, but they told me that they wouldn't make it as it wouldn't taste the same at this altitude and to get something else! Really? This is meant to be a 5 star resort and when you are paying 5 star prices you expect 5 star service.
The room service menu is appalling with little or no choice for such a large resort. When we ordered room service room service took an hour and a half and they forgot some of our order. Earlier on I ordered a hot chocolate that never arrived.
When I told the manager that we were leaving the next day and why we were leaving he didn't even seem to care, no apology, nothing.
There are far better places to stay in Park City so avoid this one at all costs.

    UPDATE:
After reading the comment from the hotel manager i had to respond again. Not once have i received any calls from the hotel manager or anyone at the hotel after my dissatisfied stay. They care more about smoothing out written criticism than to contact the customer. When you are paying $1,080 per night, you expect a certain level of service and comfort, this property is an embarrassment to the Montage's good name. My rate was also non refundable, so i lost the $1,080 for the second night but i couldn't put up with it anymore.

My experience at the Montage Deer Valley was truly magical!

I felt like royalty the minute I walked into the hotel.  The staff is so polite and very gracious, attentive and personal.   The hotel is beautiful, my room was really luxurious, and beautifully designed.  The food and wine simply divine!

The buffet breakfast was wonderful at Apex, they even served almond milk!  I was so impressed with all the wait staff, they greeted me by name, remembered that I liked almond milk in my coffee and brought it to the table without asking me!
After breakfast I would walk down stairs to waiting staff at Compas, who would get my boots from the locker, put them on my feet, I would walk outside to my ski's, and ski right over to the lift and I was up on top in minutes, to the most beautiful ski conditions you can imagine!

I can't forget the Spa, I think I had the best massage ever!

Traveling alone to a ski resort could have been difficult, however, not at the Montage!

Thank you, to all the wonderful staff at the Montage Deer Valley!

A couple months ago, my father nearly passed away. Calling me a mess would have been way too nice. As I was leaving the spa, they handed me a little gift bag with various calming teas, lotions and bath salts.

I was extremely touched. Good customer service is one thing, but that was so kind during a time I absolutely needed it the most. Thank you so much.

Considering how wonderful the service is at the montage in Laguna, this place is an embarrassment.  It's hard to imagine that these two properties are under the same management company.  Shortly after checking into our room, housekeeping walked right in on my undressed wife.  No knock.  No doorbell.  That, in itself wasn't a huge issue as we all make mistakes.  However, when I brought it up to management for a training opportunity, no apologies were provided to my wife. (I wasn't expecting anything of value, but a simple apology note or voicemail should have been provided).  Definitely wont stay here again unless I hear that management got their act in order.

Stayed at the Montage for two nights in October and it was one of the best hotel experiences that I have ever received. For only $225 per night, we were upgraded to a 1 BR suite AND given a $50 breakfast credit as it was my girlfriend's birthday weekend. Yes, the mountain was closed, but there is so much to do at this hotel that it did not even matter! We got complimentary rides to Main Street as well as other hotels / restaurants in the area. Daly's pub is super fun to relax, watch football, and play games. They also have two house dogs who are very friendly and add a nice personal touch!

The spa is amazing--both the personal facilities and the common pool area and jacuzzi (which has the best view in Park City) The staff was extremely friendly and set up a fantastic Fall Foliage tour in one of the house Mercedes Benz vehicles. The driver knew everything about the neighboring areas and took us to some really wonderful places. It snowed the last day and it was gorgeous.

Staying at the Montage in the summer and Fall is the best kept secret in Park City. It's perfect for families, singles, and couples! Strongly recommend to anyone who loves the mountains but is not obsessed with skiing. NOTE: I'm sure it is amazing during the peak of Winter but everyone knows that already :)

Awesome! Anyone who says otherwise is just spoiled! Spectacular views, spacious yet cozy rooms (w/ your own fireplace), good food & wine, ideal if you just want to relax or get adventurous & take the lift, S'mores at 8:00 by the camp fire, large spa, free shuttle service to Main Street, 2 pools (one indoor, the other out door), friendly staff...what else could you want?

I loved my stay at the Montage in Laguna Beach and now I've been to the Montage in Park City.  It is incredible!  The service is second to none, end of story.  The location is right on the Deer Valley slope, ski-in.  (Unfortunately there wasn't enough snow yet at Deer Valley, but that's certainly not their fault).

The views are spectacular, the rooms are gorgeous, the food is good, the fireplace and gingerbread house for the holidays--all a fantastic addition to a great location and decor. I can't say enough good things about this place!

Montage Deer Valley does it right...  If you're looking for the most incredible experience - from the moment the valet opens your door to the time you start roasting marshmellows for s'mores with the family  - you've found a new family away from home. EVERYTHING is taken care for you - professionally fully staffed yet they give you space - but when you need anything - someone is there for you... my week at the Montage Deer Valley was effortless and resulted in memories with my family I will cherish for a lifetime.

This is a higher-end ski resort that's also a great place to relax and enjoy breathtaking views. There are many great activities happening at the resort. The staff was always helpful and happy to be there. The rooms are gorgeous. The grounds are kept up very well. I really do not have a single bad thing to say about the place.  I would definitely stay here again.

Outstanding service and accommodations. This is a classic lodge. It's not old, but there is a sense of old lodge in the decor. The main hall is classic and huge. Large fireplace, mulled cider in the afternoons, bar, sushi bar large outside deck. Hot chocolate and a variety of marshmallows to toast or make s'mores with in the afternoon at the fire pit. I'm talking winter of course.
Ski shop service is friendly and heart attack quick. Oven fired pizza is great.
Rooms are nice and have fireplaces, but it's easy to get lost trying to find your room.

Ski out to Deer Valley slopes. Great food, nice meeting rooms, great coffee shop. Decadent vacation spot.

Staff in young, poorly trained and they truly don't seem to care.  Room requests for service of any kind usually need a follow-up call with a friendly reminder to the staff to do their jobs.  The concierge service at the Montage was very happy to set our family up with a car service that charged us over $300 for a round trip ride to a nearby restaurant in Deer Valley. We certainly do not mind paying for wonderful service but we completely detest being taken advantage of and that's exactly what the concierge at the Montage Deer Valley happily allowed to happen.  The Montage Deer Valley needs to reeducate their staff in five star customer service and care.

This yelp is coming from a montage advocate. My conversations in the past with my piers has always been in support of and I quote, best customer service on the planet, end quote.  This has been my opinion of the resorts up until now. My stay at the resort in deer valley started last Friday and was exactly as expected  check in was fabulous. Straight to the room and not even an imprint of a credit card was needed. We arrived a little late in the evening so needless to say after arrival we went straight to bed. The most comfortable beds I must ad.
Our issues did not start until the next morning. My wife, youngest daughter and I went to the valley after breakfast to go to park city. I asked the valet for a shuttle to take us to Main Street and he simply said you will have to see the concierge to do that, but if she is not there then come and see me and I will get it handled. My wife and I looked at each other puzzled, did not seek like a montage process to make a customer go back in and find someone to get a shuttle but we followed his orders. Much to our surprise there was no concierge at the desk so we waited for 5 minutes for someone to show. Nobody did so we went back to the valet. He was doing nothing but seemed annoyed when I told him there was nobody at the concierge desk. So he said he would handle and it would take 15 minutes. He disappeared for a minute and then came back and said, I just went into the concierge desk and talked to her and got you a shuttle. Did you not see her?  He was questioning me at that point on whether or not I was being honest with him on if she was at the desk. I was a little pissed at that point but, never to get upset in front of my 8 year old, I simply bit my tung and waited for the shuttle.
The second issue happened at the gym where my wife showed up to work out 20 minutes before the gym closed and the manager in the gym facility informed her and started shutting off the tv's and dialing down the gym at about 10 minutes before closing. Making my wife feel uncomfortable so she decided to leave. Second strike. My opinion on this matter is the gym manager stays until she is finished with her back workout making her stay as motivating as possible.
The last strike was our room. It has never been a issue in a montage resort to expect great service inside our rooms and keeping the rooms tight and clean. Much to our dismay Sunday night we came back to our room with dishes in the sink and many items not cleaned or straightened up. We were shocked.
Now if I were staying at a run of the mill hotel I would sound like a complainer. But this is the Montage. Our expectation is no less then perfection and in fact as we have stayed at these hotels, Laguna, Beverly Hills, for many a visit this is the first time we have ever had any issues at all. Does not mean we will not go back cause we will (staying in Beverly Hills montage middle of this month).
I would hope that so done addresses these customer handling downfalls and makes sure we or any other guest does not have to feel this poor level of service.
I am pretty confident that this is not the vision of Mr Fuerstman and I know he would want to make sure his culture and standard of service is preserved.
I could not decide between 2 or 3 stars. So I gave 3. 3 means ok
Foot note, We love the  other locations and the majority of the staff.

Coming from the Laguna Beach Montage, the Montage Deer Valley had a lot to live up to.  Upon arrival, the snow was falling and we were graciously met by a crew of people who embraced our visit.  When we got out of the car my family (wife, two daughters and I) felt like a million bucks.  The lodge lobby/main entrance was breathtaking.  From the beams, to the art, to the paint, to the decor, I was speechless upon entry.  We were welcomed and walked directly to our room. My girls had a banner painted with their names on it- welcoming them to Deer Valley Montage.  Our bags were dropped off and my girls were given milk and cookies.

The Apex Restaurant has GREAT food and service.  We spent a lot of time at Daly's and Tyler was an incredible server.  Daly's has a cool bowling alley and is a great time for all ages.

I gave the Montage Deer Valley 5/5 stars for the ambience and customer service from (Marina, Sydney, Rocio, Meg, etc).  One of the main reasons we will be back is due to the concierge texting capabilities when ordering anything!

    See you soon!

Was a beautiful location. Fireplace area was fun.  Some big issues though.  Was here for a conference. One of the worst beds.  Slept poorly for 3 nights. Apex restaurant was dull and expensive.  Last day I used the wifi to purchase some airline tickets and shortly after my credit card was hijacked for several hundred dollars leading me to believe the internet was not secure.

Too many negatives for the high price.

Loved the effort put out by their staff. On arrival we were escorted directly to our room by a gracious doorman who already knew our name. We were also given a room upgrade to a suite and had a huge space with a breathtaking view that we got for a bargain rate. Very clean room. Valet parking was mandatory, never a pleaser for me, but the price was reasonable and the service was good. Concierge gave us a good suggestion on a hike and restaurant for lunch. On the downside, a glass of generic Argentine red wine cost about $19. A bottle of same can be had for $12 back home. A hamburger was $19 at their restaurant, yogurt at their take out food location was $8. So you will pay for the location and the view.

since the Montage Deer Valley opened we've stayed here every year over Christmas or New Year's and our family, quite honestly, enjoy their stays more and more each year.  It took the resort a couple years to smooth out some customer service issues but this winter they've outdone themselves for sure.  During our (6 day) stay last week we've only encountered exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable employees who evidently had been trained well on their jobs prior to the start of the winter season.  We assume that many of their employees are only seasonal workers hence our sincere thanks to the hotel management for doing such an amazing job training them.

Thanks to the accommodating drivers of their shuttles, the maids, the wonderful waiters, and last but not least the employees at Compass Sports (Alonso is the best!) we had the best stay ever at the Montage!!

After a slow start with customer service.
The strength of the nice people showed up.

They forgot one of our luggage when our car was loaded. But they called and it showed up fedex the next day. All good!

The physical facility is stunning but the service is abysmal.   First: check in.  My room was supposed to be available at 4 but wasn't ready until 6:30--though the front desk staff kept telling me it would be ready in a few minutes.  Did they try to accommodate more during that 2.5 hour wait? No.  Finally, I had to beg them too come up with some work around so I could get out of my ski clothes and press my clothes for the six o'clock event I was going to there.

Next, At the reception, drinks didn't show up until 35 minutes after the start and food took 45 minutes.  The bar wasn't actually staffed until almost an hour after the start.

Room service for a bowl of luke warm tomato soup, a fruit plate, a tuna burger and a pot of tea took 1:15 minutes.  And the call for room service was made at 8 pm, not exactly the middle of the dinner rush.

And when I called the front desk for help on using the network and told them that repeated attempts to log in had not worked, they asked me if I was spelling my last name right. How insulting!

And for this, they were charging me $1000 a night.  I've stayed at hundreds of hotels and never seen such bad service nor any attempt to accommodate the customer for the hotel's failure to deliver adequate service.

This is by far the best resort/hotel ever! My favorite! Their customer service is extraordinary. It's a gorgeous and plush resort as well.

I stayed there last week with my mother and 7 month old. When we pulled up the valet asked for our last name. Then moments later, a man named Andrew came out and greeted us. My mom was holding my baby and they went inside. Andrew brought my mom and baby over to the front desk and to where they have a trunk full of stuffed animals. He held up three animals and let my baby select which one she wanted. Then from there we were shown around the hotel and taken to our room. It was a great start to a wonderful stay.

Everyone is so friendly. They literally remember the littlest detail. It was my baby's 7 month birthday on our last day there and they brought her a fabulously decorated cake with candles. Of course she couldn't eat it, but the thought is what counts.

We stayed in a suite connected to guestroom. They don't have conjoining doors, but there is a mini hallway (from the main hallway to the rooms) that leads to each of our doors and there were two big doors we could close off from the main hallway. These rooms were awesome! The suite had two bathrooms, dining room, living room, bar, bedroom, a few closets and two balconies. It was great. The bed is so comfortable!! The shower had two shower heads (from the side and top). The tub is so deep... I loved taking baths. Also, the views from the rooms were gorgeous!!

We ate at the pub a few times and one of the nights we ate at Apex. Both had delicious food! At Apex I ordered the Moroccan Chicken and it was sooo good. I wanted to lick the plate. We also ordered the crab cakes. My mom got the filet mignon and she said it was very delicious. For dessert we got two crepes - a chocolate one and the rhubarb. The service was great. The manager came out to greet us and see how things were. Our waiter Christopher was an excellent server. At the pub we had some of the different pizzas. My favorite was the angry Hawaiian and the Sicilian. I also had a chicken dish that was great.

Each night they come and turn down your bed and clean up your room. They leave you with a different candy/chocolate every night. We had some kind of spiced apple and a green tea candy. They were really good, different, but good.

Some of the people that were really great to us were Andrew, Marina (guest relations), Ashley (reservations), Kimmy, the ladies at the gift shop... and a few others.. I feel bad I can't remember all of their names. My mom would though haha!

There are soooo many activities and things to do at this resort. You don't even have to leave. Compass sports is great. I did the archery and it was so much fun. There is a very long list of possible activities. Also, the outdoor and indoor pools are great. They are both heated. The indoor pool is gorgeous. Also, the gym is awesome. They have a list of classes everyday. I did the peak training and loved it. They kicked my butt! The spa is great too. Make sure to stay long enough to do all of the activities! I wish I could have done a lot more. I'm definitely going back!

Decided to drive up to Montage Deer Valley to walk around and grab a drink at the bar. What a beautiful resort!!! We were first greeted by Matthew and he was WONDERFUL! He gave us suggestions of what to do and where to go while we were there. We walked around for a bit then found the bar/lounge and we ordered a round and decided on trying drinks off their specialty cocktail menu. Everything we had was very good so you can't go wrong with anything you decide on. Service was great at the bar as well. The bartenders were very friendly and made you feel very welcome. Next time in Park City we will definitely be back.

    * This is a review of Compass Sports located in the ground floor of the hotel*

I was in town for a wedding and couldn't give up a chance to ride PC while here. Compass came highly recommended. They do have good mt bikes, BMC full suspension 29ers and Ben is really helpful. That's about where it stops.
I had called twice to have a certain bike I wanted reserved only to find out when I got there no one passed on the request ( as I was told they did/would) and they rented that bike. No biggie.
The bike I did get needed a bit of a tune; chain lube, new pads for rear brakes and also had some shifting issues with miss shifts and ghost shifting.
I just expected a little more from them but overall not a horrible experience.
I would rent from them again if push came to shove.

Its tough to beat the ski in ski out service and awesome amenities.  however, on this most recent stay I felt like the execution was a little sloppy.  i left my phone case to charge at concierge, and when i came back they couldn't find it (someone moved it over to front desk for some reason).  let my jacket in the bar, someone turned it into the bartender, and no one in the hotel could find it.  i finally walked into the kitchen myself and saw it sitting on a tray.  Its a high end place, but not sure the service is up to the level it should be at these prices.

The place is very very nice and the ski valet is the best I have seen.  The beds could be made a little better.   They do not have fitted bottom sheets and everything is tuck in.   When you get in bed all the sheets come louse and expose the mattress.   The kids restaurant has great games and lots of action but the food leaves a lot to be desired.

The place is really expensive but I do love it.   Staff is very nice.

Went there during Thanksgiving week for my first time staying at a Montage Resort. It was an AMAZING experience. The weather was still really nice when we came- there was snow on the ground but it was still relatively warm during the day. It lightly snowed our last day there.

The hotel was beautiful and they had so much to offer. It was definitely a great hotel for kids; I came with my family and 4 year old niece, and they had a Paintbox room for daycare and the hotel always had a ton of activities planned. While we were there, they had cookie decorating one day complete with fresh made cookies in different shapes and a ton of different icings and decorations. They had a hotel scavenger hunt where they set up hidden clues throughout the hotel for each family team to find. They also had s'mores each night with homemade marshmallows in different flavors like mocha, cinnamon, and caramel and one of the nights there was live music along with it. They also brought a bernese mountain dog each day at 11am and 3pm to the lobby so that people could pet it and take pictures with it. They had family photo taking for free so people could get their Christmas cards done, and they would send you the pictures within a couple of hours. They also have a bowling alley downstairs with 4 lanes for people to play on. The hotel has so many fun activities and accommodations provided to the guests at no additional charge, so that was really nice.

The spa was also amazing and huge, and the indoor and outdoor pool were fantastic. They had shuttles that would bring you into town whenever you needed, and it was really fun to go sledding outside of the hotel and make snowmen! The ski lifts were not open yet by the time we left. Overall it was an amazing vacation and the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The valet guys were especially nice, as well as the main ambassador for the hotel who would station in the lobby and help you with any of your questions. The Montage Park City is a great place for kids and families, and all of the activities they had scheduled really promoted family bonding during the holidays! Fantastic vacation and a fantastic hotel!!
