We were very disappointed in this RV Park, we had reservations for 4 nights but left after 2. Two of our neighbors left early for the same reasons. When we made reservations we ask for full hookups, we check in and they said those sites were for Sunrise members. Ther were plenty of full hook ups available with larger spaces than the one we were given. We were so close to the moto home next to us that we couldn't use our awning and our slide out was within 2 inches of theirs. We couldn't have our blinds open, we could see right inside their RV, as they could see inside our coach. Lake is nice, but not worth the suffering.

Called to make reservations for the weekend, was not told that this was a "members" facility. Told the lady that we just wanted a tent spot, she kept insisting we had to have an RV Spot. I kept explaining we did not have any sort of hook-ups. Arrived late...about 10:30 pm and found our reservation taped on the door. Asked a gentleman working there if it was a RV spot, he confirmed. Said we did not reserve a RV site. Asked to speak to the person who made the reservation. Turned out to be his wife. She came and argued with us about the site, we finally said we wouldn't be able to stay then. She said, fine, I don't care where you stay.We drove back to I-5 and parked at the Rest Area.  Luckily, I called on Monday and spoke with someone else who said they would not charge us. Never...ever again.

We experienced much of the same as the other reviewers did. We have RPI membership and reserved months in advance of our one month RV ing trip. We reserved "full hookups" for 4 nights, but upon check in were told those were only for Sunrise members. There is a dump station but dismantling your whole campsite to go use it is not very convenient. The sites are very narrow and we were asked to not use our awning so that the camp site next to us could fit their rv. Yet the neighbor on our other side had his awnings out and they were over hanging on our site. It's a domino effect as each person parks it affects the next guy.
So if you want sewer hookup & you are not a Sunrise member, I do not recommend this park. Not much to do here either.

A group of us blindly rented a cabin here. They asked for a payment in full upon reservation, which I understood why after walking in to the cabin I immediately wanted a refund. You are hit with the smell of mildew right when you walk in the door. The thresholds and base boards are graveyards for old dead bugs long since forgotten. Our coffee pot only added to the curse of our stay by leaking all of its contents onto the counter, and onto the filthy old carpet that will give your regular allergy sufferer anaphylaxis. Fabreeze was a must in order to make the poor air quality more tolerable, and since there were no screens in our windows, opening a window meant that you would be infested with every creepy crawly known to man. Tent camping would have been more luxurious. My husband politely called the front desk to alert them of our disappointments. When mentioning how the dirt and mildew was causing most of the guest in our cabin unbearable allergies symptoms, the worker replied, "Well, everyone is suffering." (Thank you captain obvious! I live in Washington and I know that it is allergy season, but mold and dirt in a home environment does not help!) My husband felt as if he was not being heard, and that the attendant only wanted to get off the phone. When asked for a resolution to our problems we were simply told to, "Fill out a comment card." So do not let their website fool you, there is nothing relaxing about this "cabin resort". Sunrise Resorts - Lake Sawyer Cabins are overpriced, out of date, unaccommodating, and very disappointing.

Not the best resort we ever stayed at:

    - The staff is rude to guests
    - The grounds and laundry are in poor shape
    - The septic system backed up twice
    - It doesn't appear that the owners do a lot of upkeep outside of the summer months.
    - Additional, rather expensive, costs to park a second vehicle.

    Won't stay here again.

My husband's family are members of this resort, and this is his childhood spot with many fond memories. The lake is lovely and mostly serene.
However, as adults we have had some pretty terrible experiences. They have upped the prices and added new fees and rules every time we return.
Within the past 2 years, they have added parking fees, fees for extra kids in the cabins, fees for mooring boats, and it goes on.
The management has on multiple occasions yelled at us for unknown/unwritten rules. Yelled at our guests, yelled at my younger brothers. With a generally nasty disposition, the management makes this place virtually unbearable.
We used to hold our annual Lake Sawyer fishing derby here and have now found another place because the resort had become hostile and unreasonable. Unfortunate really.

Just use AirBNB instead of this place.

    Cabin complaints
False advertising: the pictures online didn't show what we are getting
Overpriced, especially compared to a hotel room of similar cost
Asthma inducing mildew, mold, and farts -- plus a lot of sneezing
Coffee maker leaked 4 cups of coffee
TV is broken (it was replaced after talking to them)
    Dirty floors
Charge for a fifth person for apparently no reason
Bugs and cobwebs are a nice touch
Broken blinds and some windows don't have screens
Smelly closet that just smells like the 1950's
The pillows are more like folded towels
They display, "support our troops," but offer no Military discount, even after our poor experience. Hypocrites.

We made reservations here several days in advance.  We are members of RPI and they accept RPI members. When we checked in we were informed that since we were not members of Sunrise Resorts we would not have full hookups. That was not in any of their brochures nor were we informed of this when we made reservations.  We were planning on a 4day stay. There were several empty sites with hookups however. These are saved for any Sunrise members that MAY decide to visit. Our satellite was not working because of all the trees so we asked about cable. We were informed that they only rent their cable boxes to people that are staying 14 days.  They also don't do much to enforce their "pick up after your pet" rule.  This could be a very pleasant RV park but they don't do much for their visitors.  We won't stay here again.
