Enzian Inn in Leavenworth, WA

Looking out the windows of the Inn at magnificent mountains, rich green forests, and fresh clear skies, you might just be tempted to believe you were in the Alps. It is in those European mountains that the delicate, but hardy, azure flower - The Enzian, flourishes on rocky cliffs and in high alpine meadows. Our Enzian is designed with the same beauty and tradition of those Alpine regions.

We invite you to come and enjoy the old world atmosphere of the Inn, the enthusiasm of our welcoming staff, and the scenic wonders of this area.

Established in 1984.

Family owned and operated by the Johnsons, they have always felt very blessed to have been able to call Leavenworth home. The beautiful scenery, the crisp mountain air, the wide variety of outdoor activities as well as the remarkable people who make up this little valley have led them to dream of sharing the Bavarian Village with others.

Having a solid background in construction, in 1983, Bob and Nola and their son, Rob and his wife, Nancy, sat around the kitchen table gathering ideas and drawing up plans for the Enzian Inn. Building began in August of 1983 and in May of 1984, the doors opened on phase one of the Hotel. They've never stopped building since! A total of 104 rooms were finally built including the breakfast room, meeting rooms, indoor pool, hot tub and racquetball court. Also added was a picturesque 18 hole putting course featuring a 20 foot waterfall and traditional Alm Hutte.

This is a very nice place to stay.  Very clean and comfortable with an excellent breakfast buffet in the morning before you leave.  Just a short walk to downtown.  Courteous staff.  Would definitely stay here again.  $144/nite for 2 queen beds with 3 adults, tax included.

Loved it!!!! Had a girls trip there and were treated wonderfully. Not to mention all the fun we had. We caught the train back to Seattle really early and the staff had brown bagged us a little care package, soooo sweet. The whole experience charmed us both. Thanks. We will definitely be back.

Having lived in Seatlle for years...this place is better than great to get out of the rain!  The setting is so picturesque & the weather always seems to be beautiful!  Then let's talk about the food...Wow!  Tables & tables of the most high quality breakfast food you could ever find!  The breakfast comes with your room (guests only) & it comes with the owner playing his Alpen Horn...surreal!  Then go hiking on a wide variety of trails from beginner to advance. In the winter there's skiing, cross county & snow shoeing, all nearby. Or just stroll through the village for fun shops & good food.  This place is a must!

My husband and I go here often to celebrate our wedding anniversaries.  I love the Bavarian decor, and each morning you need to get up early to enjoy the outstanding "made to order" breakfast, and watch the guy in his "nickers" blow the long "horn" on the balcony each day. (Sorry, don't know what that instrument is called.)  The older gentleman who does this apparently has been doing so for YEARS.  They have a nice little swimming pool, and miniture golf across the street.  It really is the perfect getaway!

All of the other reviews will hit on a lot of positives. But the most impressive was the friendliness of the staff. For a small town inn, I give it 5 stars!

We were referred to the Enzian by our neighbors and we were so extremely delighted in everything about this hotel.  They offer many ammenities: great full service breakfast; 1 outdoor pool and jacuzzi, 1 indoor pool and jacuzzi, ping pong, basketball, exercise room; spectacular putt putt golf course across the street; beautiful setting and very clean inside.  Highly recommend to anyone going to Leavenworth.

Swimmers rejoice!
The rooms are fine: sure, a bit out-dated but clean and any room with two sinks is A-OK in my book. I didn't love the breakfast as much as some other reviewers.  The food was a little institutional and the breadstuffs a bit pasty but it was free and the Alphorn was kitschy and delightful.  The reason I love this place is the lap pool.  Seventy feet long and five feet deep!  Amazing to get nearly half an Olympic sized pool in a hotel!  I was delighted.  The kids played and splashed and screamed at the small outside pool and I happily swam my laps in peace.  A fantastic amenity.  I'm not sure I would go here in the summer heat as my room never adequately cooled down but the lap pool means I will definitely return.  Great staff too: helpful, patient and friendly without being overbearing.

This is one of the nicest Inns I have ever stayed in Leavenworth or anywhere else.  The staff is very friendly and the lobby is so welcoming and inviting with 24 hour access to stash teas, TAZO even!  I stayed there with my mom and little girl for the first snow a few weeks back and my mother had just come down with bronchitis but didn't want to cancel our special trip together.  It was nice to be able to fetch her tea and to sit and enjoy the fire while her tea was steeping.  I came here first to read reviews prior to booking and sure glad I did.  The German breakfast served upstairs in the breakfast room is superb.  Made to order omlettes, black forest ham and cinnamon rolls...OMG, so good!  And you can work off those cinnamon rolls by taking laps in their fabulous basement swimming pool or they have workout room, indoor basketball and racquetball court as well as table tennis.  So much to do just at the hotel but the town is a mere block walk away with so many fabulous restaurants and shops.

There are four great things about the Enzian: 1) service. This being a family-run, they take customer service seriously; 2) indoor and outdoor pools!!; 3) proximity: 'downtown' is two blocks in one direction and the best place in town for coffee (Red Bird Coffee House) is one block the other direction; 4) they now have a spa room with a massage therapist, Angi Dooley, who is awesome. She managed a resort spa for six years before this and it shows. Top-notch and just what I needed!

Alphorns, jacuzzis, and hof brau, oh  my!

We pulled into Leavenworth just before midnight, looking for a place to crash. The only rooms left in town were $140/night queen beds at the Enzian Inn, an old world hotel on the main drag of downtown Leavenworth. We were immediately booked into a lovely room which, though a bit shabby, was spacious, clean and well appointed.

Waking up to the smell of crisp mountain air and a view of the soaring mountains was amazing. Not to mention the complimentary breakfast of ham, scrambled eggs, cinnamon rolls, french toast, chocolate cake, yogurt bar, omelette bar and more! Mid-meal, a charming gentleman in lederhosen and a bavarian hat perched himself on the balcony ledge for a musical performance on his fifteen foot alphorn.

But my favorite part of the Enzian was the free activities that you get with your room! Free racquetball, basketball, table-tennis, and weight room. Plus, constant access to swim in their gorgeous indoor pool and jacuzzi or splash around in the outdoor pool and jacuzzi. Add to that free admission to the 18 hole putting course across the street, and you've got a spectacular combination of great customer service, delicious food and free sports.

With walking distance to the downtown hof brau and shops, the Enzian is the best place to crash in Leaveworth.

A little cheaper than the Bavarian Lodge and a better value as well.  Indoor pool is very nice, the breakfast is served in a wonderful top floor space that has great 180' views.  The breakfast room is huge, seats maybe 200 people, and it was a lot of fun to be part of the scene.  Then at 9:15 the old man himself shows up in lederhosen and his Alphorn and stands on the balcony and blows a tune.  I know it sounds tacky but it was fun.

The hotel is a quick walk to town, offers free x-c rentals.  Our room was a bit shabby, compared to the Bavarian Lodge but the breakfast room, pool, x-c gear easily make up for it.

Nice hotel, about a block from the shops in Leavenworth.  The breakfast was a nice treat.  There were many options to choose from including made to order omelets, eggs, sausage, potatoes, oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, and granola.  Hotel staff were all friendly and helpful and were dressed in their traditional German attire.  Across the street is the most amazing little putting course.  I have never seen an putting course so beautifully maintained.  There was even a waterfall and real bunkers!  The Enzian has plenty of putters for guests to use.

If you are getting away with a group, The Hutte is the best! Thank you, Enzian for all the amazing memories you have helped give to our family! We heart you! Top notch indoor AND outdoor pools!

Excellent all around! Read on for details--

I decided that for my boyfriend's birthday, we'd go to Leavenworth -- a first for both of us. I wanted a really great hotel experience, and after a lot of research, I chose Enzian. It was awesome; we both loved it. I wanted a suite, but their normal ones were taken, so I went ahead and booked the bridal suite. At first it felt sort of strange to do so, but then I realized that I'm sure they're happy to sell the room in any circumstance, and I noted on the reservation that we weren't newlyweds but that it was for his birthday. Then I felt less weird. The suite itself was great. There was a large jacuzzi tub, a great tiled bathroom, a duel-head shower, and for a truly European touch -- a bidet! There was a fireplace with a log and matches, all set to go, and we loved how the fireplace was the center of the living area, and not the TV, which was a flatscreen set to the side. On the table there was a complimentary bottle of apple cider and a note that read "Happy Birthday!" for my boyfriend, which I thought was a great touch. The bed was huge, comfortable, and had European-style down duvets and pillows -- my favorite.

The staff was super helpful with all of our questions and information. I loved the lobby, which is actually two levels. It was large, but with the fireplace and big comfy furniture, was also very cozy. There is a deck out from the lobby on the 2nd floor that we went out on for the sunrise in the morning. A little icy and cold, but a very pretty sunrise over the mountains. The breakfast, as everyone has mentioned here, was so great! It is in a large room on the 4th floor and the views are stunning. The alpen horn player, a gentleman who was at least 70, I'd expect, climbed UP ON THE RAILING of the balcony to blow the horn. It was awesome! The breakfast itself had a huge assortment of foods, and my vegetarian boyfriend was more than stuffed given variety of options.  I was too. The omelet lady was so adorable with her perkiness.

We walked just across the street to the shopping area -- so convenient! There is also a great walking (easy hiking) trail along the river that is open before the snowfall, at the end of Icicle Road. It was breathtakingly beautiful with all of the fall colors. Everyone on the trail was in such a great mood.

The funniest part about the Enzian is that aside from a couple of families, we were definitely the youngest folks there (we're both in our early 30s). We went to the breakfast pretty early (since we'd just watched the sunrise) and it was full of older folks. I loved this, and I think it's a sign of a good hotel. Old folks don't bother will bullshit. They have money and want a comfortable stay, dammit, and they will go to the hotel that provides it! All of the guests exchanged "good mornings" and other salutations while passing, because the hotel just creates such a great, inviting atmosphere. We only stayed a night so we didn't get to use all of the amenities (like the putting green, which looked great, but it was cold outside!). We did check out the rec stuff on the lower level. The indoor pool was quite nice -- very clean and great for laps, and they have an adults-only swim hour. There is also a racquetball court, a ping pong table, and a small workout room! This place rules. Oh, also, they have a ton of free Wi-Fi routers set up, and I never had a problem connecting.

I really loved Leavenworth, and this hotel, and technically this was the "off" season! I can't imagine how magical it is during Christmas festival. Highly recommended!!

My family and I loved this place!  The rooms were clean and inviting.  The breakfast was amazing, with made to order omlets, waffles, oatmeal, pastries and fruit.  They had lots of fun things to do such as putt-putt golf, indoor and outdoor pools, basketball court and ping-pong table.  Also, in the evening there is a piano concert and during breakfast in the morning we got to listen to the beautiful horn music.

My husband and I stayed one night Sunday/Monday and were very happy with the value!
The room was comfortable a little too cutesy for us but it's Leavenworth!
The hotel is rather large and the lay out some what confusing, tours or maps at check in would be nice.
We liked that there were two sinks, a mini fridge, robes, and a pool basket in our room.
Within the complex there was a balcony to enjoy the thunderstorm, an array of games for all to play, a common area with small kitchenette nook, lots of extra seating areas, an indoor pool/hot tub with an amazing mural, an out door pool/ hot tub, Ping Pong, basket ball, 18 hole putting green, goats, and a nice buffet breakfast!
The location is great close enough for most anyone to walk to the main strip, but far enough away the the music does not bother you.
For the amount we paid with the breakfast and golf we would stay here again!

This place was wonderful...loved the pools...loved the old guy tootin' his horn at breakfast (an amazing free breakfast I might add).  Parking was awesome. Close to everything. FREE putt putt across the street??? YAY! We had a 2 queen poolside room.  There was a back patio door that opened up right outside the pool.  They leave you nice pool towels and robes in your room.  We stayed on a Friday night at the end of June and it was $160...totally worth it.  Definitely want to stay here again!

The Enzian is such a lovely place to stay! It is very close to the downtown area. In the summer you get a complimentary game of put golf which is just across the street. VIP rooms include a huge private deck which is convenient for laying in the sun in privacy! The breakfast is fresh and delish. We would love to come back next summer. I added some pictures of the VIP room we stayed in.

Very quaint, comfortable and convenient for those staying in Leavenworth. Some of the staff is friendly, a couple of them sounded like they needed their own vacation.
The room was very comfortable and I am a sucker for a canopy bed and the down filled duvets were very nice.

It is a little dated but I guess that is kind of the point. The lobby was very comfortable and we enjoyed the Alphorn breakfast serenade. The breakfast was satisfying, the omelet bar was tasty and the lady making our omelets was very friendly.  The rest of the breakfast, including the coffee, was unremarkable.
Overall I was very satisfied. We forgot our suits but the hot tub outside looked very spacious and enjoyable, as well as the pool.
There were a lot of families there and they have a lot of different styles of rooms so that you can sort of customize your experience. I was in an executive room on the corner and the view was quite nice, but not as impressive as the 4th floor atrium where breakfast and other events take place.
The showers were hot and had excellent water pressure. I always appreciate a powerful shower in hotels. Robes and pool towels are also provided, along with a small coffee pot but no filters in case you like to bring your own. I made tea in our using a napkin and it worked out fine.

My husband and I love the Enzian and stay every year during the Oktoberfest celebration.  The location is perfect, the free mini golf is a fun diversion, and I love all the detailing on the antique European furniture.  And the BREAKFAST - oh, the breakfast.  Absolutely the BEST hotel breakfast buffet you will ever experience.  Complete with Alphorn performance!  And, if you leave town before the breakfast starts (like if you're catching a train back to Seattle at 0-dark:30), they pack you a to-go breakfast complete with utensils.  How sweet is that??

I would rate this a 3.5.  The location is easy to find, a block from downtown and the staff is very welcoming, but the rooms are a little outdated and (as another rater mentioned) smell like old people -- not romantic exactly unless snuggling up at grandma's house with your spouse is your thing.  The breakfast was delicious and included in our rate.  I would recommend this location, but we will try somewhere else next time to see what else Leavenworth has to offer for lodgings.

Truly the epitome of the Bavarian experience.

We chose the Enzian Inn for our recent stay in Leavenworth, and found it to be very comfortable and well-appointed. Our room was large, however, our first foray into the room on a cold afternoon was met w/ the heat turned all the way up, and the room was at least 90 degrees. We quickly shut it off and opened both the window and the door to get the heat moved out. Because we were on the first floor, we couldn't leave the window open when we went out for dinner, so when we returned later, it was still kind of stuffy. We left the fan on overnight to help us stay comfortable enough to sleep. The queen bed was quite comfortable and the down pillows were a great added feature. We took advantage of the indoor hot tub and pool and were treated to wonderful piano music in the evening in the front lobby fireplace area. The morning Continental breakfast was hearty, even "made to order" omelets were available. Unfortunately, we missed the morning Alpenhorn performance. The dining area is huge, though the entire hotel is somewhat of a maze, in finding your way either through the basement area to the pool and exercise areas, or up to the 4th floor dining area. Overall, I would say it's worth it, if you can take advantage of all the perks, but at $160 a night, it's still a bit steep for my tastes.

We always go to the Enzian whenever they are offering the regular room price for the suite price ($125).  We have only ever stayed in the suites and they are stunning.  For a older hotel, they are great.  I believe the regular rooms are just very basic and small.  The free breakfast is delicious. Its not your regular cereal and waffles type of free breakfast either.. an amazing selection of fresh baked goods, yogurt, fruit, cottage cheese, oatmeal, potatoes, biscuits & gravy, eggs and made on the spot omelets.  The owners are very nice people, one of them plays the horn twice in the morning, very fun event.  You get to play golf for free on their mini putting course which is very well maintained and LONG! Perfect distance to the town as well.  The indoor pool is stunning, the pool itself is a little cold for tiny babies but my 15 month old had the best time of his life in it.  You've also got ping pong, racket ball and a spa to look forward to.  Their is a nightly piano player with complimentary cookies which is very nice. You can sit on two different levels of the hotel listening to it while playing board games if you please.  If you need to work while on vacation, they have free wifi and free computer/printer access as well.  Its a great hotel, I can't say enough positive things about it.

I adore Leavenworth. But Enzian Inn puts the cherry on top. The feel of the hotel is very European, from the architecture to the decor to the uniforms for the staff.

The beds are sooo comfy, and the rooms are clean. The room keys are actual keys, not the cards with the magnetic strip. Noone does that anymore!

There are 2 pools at the hotel. 1 in-door pool downstairs and 1 outdoor pool. If it gets crowded, you always have another option.

Breakfast is my favorite part of staying at the Enzian. Alphorn performance that entertains guests at breakfast each morning. Pastries, omelet station, fresh fruits, breads, & variety of cereals are presented beautifully.

The location the hotel is placed is perfect. It's within walking distance to the Bavarian shopping area and Starbucks.

We booked a room the first weekend in December with no knowledge of the light festival. I've stayed here before several years ago and so we came back. The bed is so comfortable with traditional bedding, which is accurate as I have stayed in the alps in Switzerland. The room was cozy and warm. The bathroom is nice, big and clean. Could have benefitted from a better hair dryer. The only problem with the room we had: the TV was TINY!!!!! We paid $175 a night for a room with a tv the size that my little old grandma uses!!! That was really disappointing as we like to cuddle to a movie before bed. Also, the walls are a bit thin as we were woken up every time someone took a step above us, kids talking in the hall and rooms next to us.

The pools are beautiful and great. Free put put golf in the summer!
The breakfast is amazing for a hotel!!! My favorite part is the delicious raspberry granola bar thing! I need a recipe!!!!

The cute old man with the alp horn is great :)

This is one of two places where we usually stay in Leavenworth and typically we switch between here and Bavarian Lodge depending on the season.  The people, ambiance, and dining hall are all top notch.  It has beautiful decor, descent location, and good prices for what you get.  Only drawbacks are the room are a bit out dated compared to the Bavarian Lodge and they sort of smell like old people.  Sorry but it's true.  They could stand to update the rooms a bit to make them nicer.  During Christmas they decorate the heck out of the lobby and it's already surrounded by snow so it's very much like a fairy tale.  Their breakfast hall upstairs is absolutely amazing with high ceilings and a nice view of the entire city.  They even have regular appearances from a Bavarian that breaks out the Alpen Horn.  Like something out of a Ricola commercial.  It's pretty cool.  The breakfast is top notch with a vast selection of eggs, bacon, biscuits, and a fresh omelet bar.

Overall it's a great experience.  During the summer, it's a great opportunity to take advantage of the golf course across the street that they own.  It's a putt-only golf course on real grass.  Super cool.  They also have some mountain goats out there chomping away.  Only thing missing is a bar.  If they would open the breakfast area up to a bar/restaurant, that would be really cool.

Last weekend I was with a large group of people checking in with different rooms reserved under many names and credit cards. A long story short, I ultimately think it was our fault and bad communication between ourselves that caused a problem with our reservations. The lovely ladies at the front desk handled our problem with patience and grace and everyone ended up in their own rooms thank to them. Their customer service is exceptional and so is their morning breakfast! Not to mention the nice little golf course the boys played while the girls hung out by the pool. Will defiantly stay here again next summer.

We stopped on our way to Seattle for a quick one-night stay.  The reviews looked good so we thought we'd give it a try.  We were not disappointed in any way.  The front desk people were very friendly.  The free miniature golf actually has real grass - not your traditional miniature golf in any way.  We walked about three blocks and were in downtown.  The bed was comfortable - though I wish the bed was a king.  The shower was even good.  They do need to upgrade the TV sets to flat screens.  Oh, the breakfast was excellent too.  We're very pleased.

Heaven smells like the Enzian Inn!

I stayed at the Enzian Inn for the first weekend of the Christmas Tree Lighting and it was worth every cent of the $165.00 a night. The room was a decent size and had the most spectacular of the mountains!  The only thing the room did not have was a coffee maker- which could have saved me some trips to the lobby where they serve free coffee.

I will try to explain the smell- vanilla, roasted chestnuts, love, more vanilla, more love, and a few more chestnuts.  It was amazing and I would love to know the secret. The manager only said, "we roast fresh nuts on the balcony and it just makes the whole hotel smell like that. . . here have a free bag."

The lobby was also amazing during the Christmas season. There was a huge fireplace, a piano player, Christmas songs. . . .   It was the perfect place to celebrate the light festival.

The hotel has complimentary cross country skies, snowshoes, and other winter wonderland equipment. It is first come first served so make sure you get your equipment early.

The hotel also has complimentary breakfast. No continental breakfast here- we are talking about ham, eggs, omelets, danishes, fruit, sausage, french toast. . . .    It was an amazing breakfast.  Also, at 8:15Am and 9:15Am there is an Alphorn performance that i amazing and very unique.

Staying at the Enzian Inn was a great experience.  I look forward to the staying again next year!

My bf and I rolled into town late one evening, and had no clue which place to choose. Thanks to Yelp, we checked in to the Enzian, and were immediately charmed by the friendly lobby with baby grand piano and local musician playing classical tunes for guests, who were simply sitting and enjoying, the old fashioned way. We were offered 4 room keys, to check out different types of accomodations, and we chose the Executive, which was AMAZING! Romantic, a huge  wooden 4 poster canopy bed with curtains AND swiss style featherbed toppings,a real fireplace, and separate little dining area. The place was truly a gem.

We didn't use the huge and lovely pool (really, this was a special one) but next time, for certain. In the morning, we ventured up to the 4th floor, and were WOWED by the incredible alp-like views and great breakfast buffet. Home-made omelets, pastries, cereal.. but best of all, the lovely server, who was like a little alpen swiss miss, all full of sunshine. I hear this is a family run resort, and it shows. No teenage surliness here, nor yuppie snottiness. Just a gorgeous historic looking place, great service, all the comfort you could want. STAY HERE! :)

Stayed here for one night and loved every minute of it!

We stayed in an Executive Suite and it was beautiful.  It felt like we were in an old Bavarian hotel.  The bed was ridiculously comfortable and had a canopy and everything.  The room had a beautiful fireplace but we didn't get to use it because it was a really warm June day.

Our friends stayed in a standard room which seemed nice as well.

We swam in the outdoor pool (didn't check out the indoor pool) and it was nice.  Not huge but totally adequate considering there's two!  The hot tub was huge.

We missed breakfast because we had to leave early and we didn't mini golf (free as long as you're a registered guest) so I can't comment on those.

The girls working at the front desk were nice and knowledgable about the area.  I definitely recommend this hotel if you're visiting Leavenworth.

The Enzian Inn has it figured out. What a fun place to stay while visiting a great local treat.

The German Alps theme is through and through here-naturally. Walking into the lobby was greeted by music and large windows looking into the outdoor pool area, dark wood and visitors relaxing. The staff was very enjoyable with cheerful smiles and helpful support.

The check-in was easy and friendly with the staff attended to our requests during booking without hick up.

The rooms are fresh, clean and old world nostalgic with unique furniture in each room and pastel colors throughout. The rooms are dated but we didnt spend much time there and so it wasnt a bother. The rooms also had some great little woodworked items which were such gems. The various rates go from $120-$375 per night with the private Enzian Falls Hutte at the high end. They have beautiful rooms: VIP, Vista and Tower Suite all of which I suggest. To me, if Im going to spend some time in the hotel then this is worth the money.

Commodities to consider:
The indoor pool, though colder that preferred, was a fun experience-check it out. There is a great mural painted on the wall and the hot tub makes up for the colder pool.

There is ping pong, board games, lounge areas, racquetball, a gym/exercise room and an 18 hole putting green.

We did take the time for some miniature golf provided by the hotel (located across the street) and made it a great time. It is a fun putting course.

The experience that WON me over was the fabulous breakfast on the fourth floor in a scenic view hall overlooking the Leavenworth town and surrounding mountains. This meal is worth the visit every time! The food is wonderful with most of it chef made at location. During the breakfast the Enzian Inn has a wonderful tradition of having an Alphorn blown by a dear man who has been doing it for years. He stands on top of the wood railing on patio with his 15'+ horn resting in front of him. He takes the time to mingle with the kids and regulars as well as pose for pictures and the whole scene transports you to the German Alps for a moment.

The Enzian Inn is AWESOME. It's very close to Front St., our room was lovely, comfortable, and squeaky clean, and the amenities are great, too:
-2 pools, one inside, one out.
-hot tub
-work-out room
-putting green access
-free wi-fi

and the Continental breakfast is great! So many options, all of them yummy.

Nice people, good service, very dated hotel...  A bit disappointed, but it was okay...

+ Breakfast buffet (omelets, waffles, juice, muffins, etc)
+ Mini golf course across the street with REAL grass!
+ Bob playing the Alpenhorn at breakfast - very personable and funny guy!
+ Service, everyone was pleasant
+ Wireless

Not so good:
- VERY OUTDATED HOTEL & furnishings, could use some serious updates!
- busy highway 2 crossing without any crosswalk signals, very scary we were nearly hit by a driver turning left onto hwy 2!
- Swimming pools - outdoor is VERY SMALL and crowded, indoor pool is like a dungeon
- They charge $10 per person over double occupancy
- no hash browns at the breakfast buffet
- Parking is very tight, someone scratched our vehicle while parked there :(

Let's just say - IT HAS POTENTIAL, but not quite...  I'd prefer to say in Wenatchee at the Marriott Spring Hill Suites for much less money and Drive the 20 minutes into Leavenworth before staying here again...

Love the Enzian Inn! Spent 2 nights there. Beautiful everything about it. We had a suite with a whirlpool tub in our room. Complimentary breakfast is an understatement, and very special, so wake up for it. Be there by 8am! Daughter joined us the 2nd night for an extra $7. Comfy convertible couch, unlike regular pull out couches. Fireplace, huge balcony area, beautiful mountain view, walk to town. You'll love it.

We have stayed here probably twenty times in various rooms, from suites to bare bones, We have rarely had a truly bad experience. Rooms are clean, there's lots to do, the breakfast is excellent. It is close to downtown. Nothing bad to say.

Live here. Don't think about it. If I remember correctly, staying here gets you complimentary rounds of Golf at the course that is across the street. They wake you up with a beautiful performance on the wind instrument which I don't know the name of - it's like a gigantic horn on one of the turrets.

The breakfast is AMAZING for lacking of further capitalization in the roman alphabet. You regret that humans have such small bellies when you see the food.

The rooms are comfy, cozy and insanely romantic. Wooden furniture takes you back quite a ways.

Spa, pool, hottubs are the best way to relax in the winter on a snowy day.

I was lucky to be there on the day of a major car show. Sexy corvettes everywhere!

We liked the Enzian Inn and would stay there again if the Bavarian is booked.  Mooseheads, kitschy furniture, Cuckoo clocks... Grandma's house gone wild, but with wireless that is Free.99.

In December, the Inn is warm, cozy and nicely decorated in the lobby.  You'll find tea and coffee in a pleasant relaxation area.  The people working the front desk are excellent and very attentive.  They made every effort to make all of us comfortable and happy.

When you get the key to your room and head down the hall, you might notice that the inn is in need of an update.  When you open your door, you'll know it.  Depending on where your room is, there could be a heavy, damp smell and the furnishings/carpet/bathroom look worn.  It's not that they look Bavarian, it's that they look old.  Aside from the oldness, you will appreciate their beds.  In the winter, you can freeze your ass off in Leavenworth and an Enzian bed is the perfect den for your hibernation.  You'll sleep well and probably miss the first Alp-horn performance.

Moving onto the included breakfast... as tired as you might be from the night before, make an effort to see the Alp-horn player, who plays a couple short, peaceful tunes while you look over the snow-covered rooftops, trees and mountains.  It's enough to cheer up most grumpy morning people.  When the omelet line becomes more tame, hightail your buns over there to get a custom omelet.  If eggs aren't your thing, there are fresh-baked pastries, along with fruit and some cereal.  To drink, they have Starbucks coffee, a selection of teas, juice, etc.  The breakfast area also is in need of an update, for it has a downmarket cafeteria feel to it.  However, for your energetic day of playing in the snow, it offers a huge and hearty breakfast to give you plenty of calories and indigestion, because you'll WANT to overdo it.

WOW! Amazing hotel in the heart of one of my favorite towns. The rooms are incredible, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is out of this world...a huge lodge style room with lots of windows to soak up the amazing mountain views and great food. Not to mention the guy that comes out in his Lederhosen and blows his Bavarian horn

This place has an amazing amount of character and charm. From the hot cider in the lobby, piano playing in the evening, and Austrian horn blower in the morning, it's really something different. Breakfast was good but get there early if you want an outstanding freshly made omelette. Rooms were warm and well kept. Only negative was the road noise in the morning and the busses warming up outside.

This hotel has a nice ambiance.  We have only stayed here once and we would choose to go back again.  The front desk help are friendly and informative.  We loved the 18 hole putting green which is free if you are staying at this hotel.  It's well taken care of and challenging....not just a kiddies course.  Our room was clean and it's nice that this hotel is so close to everything.

We stayed in Leavenworth for 2 days and were very surpsrised that we couldn't get through all the shops in that amount of time.  They have so much to look at and snoop through.  We are going back again this fall and I can't wait to continue with the awesome experience that is Leavenworth.  Truly a unique and wonderful getaway destination!

While new to the kitschy Bavarian world that is Leavenworth, I can truly appreciate the relaxing and friendly Enzian Inn.

It's walking distance from the action in the Disneyland-esqe village of Leavenworth, and the feel is spot on with the ladies in full costume at the front desk, deer head mounts (not my favorite), cuckoo clocks, and loads of painted and carved furniture, this place has its clientele pegged.

The Enzian Inn is kid and family friendly.  Our little one was thrilled, between the complementary Alphorn breakfast on the 4th floor with enormous banks of windows overlooking the mountains, to the flower shaped jacuzzi, to the indoor pool and jacuzzi for winter fun, to the put-put golf course complete with local mountain goats, to the indoor ping pong, the Enzian has all its bases covered.

The adults too will be happy, with the free all you can drink Starbucks coffee, thick feather comforters, high thread count sheets, generous, thirsty pool towels, comfy robes and great room prices.

It's kitschy, but its Leavenworth, so kitsch is a given. The Enzian Inn is a win all the way around.  One of the better spots in town.

Stayed in the jacuzzi suite, very spacious and cozy. There was a back door to the balcony that only the suites had access to which was nice at night when everyone was crashing the hot tub and pool on a Friday night, but it was just for a view with nothing to do except watch the bugler in the morning. Breakfast is off the hook with a horn show. Definitely not something you see everyday which raised an eyebrow.  Will stay again in the future! And the piano show in the lobby with Starbucks coffee is a nice touch

I was in need for a mini staycation and I'm glad we chose to stay at the Enzian Inn.  We enjoyed our stay in our Executive room.  The room itself was VERY spacious, it had a comfy king canopy bed and fireplace (which we didn't use since it's summer).  I was very pleased with the cleanliness of the room.  Our room also included a flat screen TV, DVD player (rented DVD's from the Safeway nearby) and a mini fridge which we stocked up with wine from the nearby cellars.

The Enzian Inn offers many things to do, as a guest you have access to all of these things:
-Complimentary round of golf at the Enzian Falls Championship 18-hole Putting Course (across the street from the Inn)
-Indoor AND outdoor pools and hot tubs
-table tennis room
-racquetball / basketball / wally-ball court
-fitness room
-lots of sitting areas in the lobby and 2nd floor to read a book, catch up on emails or to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee (provided near the reception area)

Highlight of our stay was the awesome complimentary breakfast buffet with the Alphorn serenade and views of the mountains.  We were greeted every morning by the awesome and happy omelet lady.  She made fresh made to order omelets with love :).  The buffet also included scrambled eggs, different meat selections, homemade pastries, fresh fruit, cereal, coffee (Starbucks drip), teas, hot cocoa, and juices.  There was such a huge selection, we never left hungry.  The Alphorn serenade was so fun, it reminded me of the old "ricola" commercials.

Although I enjoyed all of the accommodations that Enzian Inn had to offer, I was not impressed with the customer service (just from the front desk).  From check in to asking about the things to do at the lnn, we came into contact with unfriendly and unattentive staff.  One of our experiences happened while asking about the putting course, we were handed a clip board and told to sign in.  While filling out the info she gets on the phone and makes a phone call as we wait in front of her to give us directions on what to do next.  After her call she finally tells us sarcastically  "Oh, were you waiting for me?  Just grab a club and you can leave."  It was pretty rude in my books :(

If it wasn't for the great location and all the accommodations provided at the Inn, the customer service would have really turned me off.  BUT I will be back because I just loved the place.

Made reservations at the last minute for Veterans Day and used yelp to help us make our decision. This is the first time yelp has let us down, normally anything 4 stars or more is well deserving but not this time.

Since we had very little to chose from on a holiday weekend we ended up getting the executive room. After tax this cost us $250, don't tell my wife. At this price I expected a very nice room updated sort of spa like. The main lobby was nice but needed updating. The staff was very nice and helpful. When we got into our room I loved the size but that was all. All I could think about if my wife finds out how much I spent a fight might ruin our weekend.

Everything about this room was outdated in late 70's early 80's style the kicker was the mirror over the bed. I couldn't help but laugh. The room was clean except when I went to make coffee and found that housekeeping forgot to clean out the coffee pot.

The worse thing about the room was the bed it was very lumpy and saggy should have been changed out ten years ago. This hotel has a lot of amenities for the guests but in poor weather most you wouldn't use. The breakfast buffet was nice but not spectacular didn't stick around for the alpen horn.  If I had paid $100 less I would have been fine with the price but at the price we paid expectations were not even close. I have spent much less for a downtown hotel in seattle (grand Hyatt ) and much better accommodations.

We have stayed here many times over the past 20 years and it is still a great experience.

The breakfast is great with nice views from the breakfast room.

The pool is in the basement but it is nice and there are both indoor and outdoor hot tubs.

The hotel is becoming dated but our room was very clean as well as the public areas.

This place is pretty awesome. Granted Leavenworth Washington has a limited amount of choices as far as accommodations and some of them look pretty scary I think I even saw a bed bug running the front desk at one of them.
We made very last minute arrangements to stay in town after an event that we were attending. Our choices were limited and through the major travel sites had the nearest hotels in Wenatchee. We went to The Enzian Inn's site and they had one room left... The very basic bottom floor room... These ol' queens usually at least want a junior suite.
I will tell you even after we tried to make last minute upgrades at the front desk at check in, I resigned myself to just accepting the reality of the situation. Upon opening the room's door I was presently surprised the room was VERY clean and rather spacious. The  bedding was was of pretty decent quality and very comfortable. The bathrooms were very nice and again spacious for a standard room. There was a basket of special large pool towels and robes.
"Very classy!"
... But after further inspection we were kinda disappointed the room did not have an in room coffee maker although Starbucks coffee is available, complimentary in the lobby.
After attending our event and having a WONDERFUL dinner at Visconti's we returned to the hotel late that evening and asked the front desk clerk if there was a way that we could get a coffee maker for our room... She took this request with such a sense of urgency that really impressed me.
And the breakfast... It was very nice and it was free! FREE! How cool is that? And we are not just talking pastries and cereal... It's more like omlettes made to order, breakfast meats waffles, fresh fruit etc etc... Very nice!
Followed by a free round of golf...  "FREE!"
Overall a very nice place to stay for the price. Definitely staying here again.

Walked in Saturday morning around 1015 to see if they had a room available. They had a room but had to wait until 11:00 o clock because the person who was in the room already hadn't checked out yet, no big deal walked around town. The hotel actually called me to tell me the room was ready. Didn't think that was gonna happen. Room was well kept and very cozy, has a balcony (shared with 2 rooms) Very quite through out the hotel, huge swimming pool and hot tub. Beds are amazing! Would definitely recommend!

No pets! Woohoo! This means I don't have to over medicate myself because of flea- bitten,  crotch licking barkers.  This is an older property about three blocks from the  tourist related T's, taffy, ice cream, wine and other dust collectors we buy but don't need.  Beds are comfy, deck is small, but it is quiet for a Monday night. The down pillows and comforter are warm. Parking is no problem. The view, wine and a deck.. A-ok!!! The alpine horn blows at 8:30pm, breakfast is served in the morning.

Yes it is dated decor.  It is actually more like being in Europe...where the dont replace perfectly good 30 year old decor just because it is 30 years old.  Anyway the pool and other recreational activities are great and the breakfast is the best free breakfast anywhere.  The room heater is the main regret.  More modern unit would be much quieter.  Seems clean.  Not really a 4 star hotel but a 4 star experience.

We loved the Enzian. Compared to some surrounding inns, the enzian was a great value. I was skeptical at first (due to the price) but was very surprised with the accomadations. Everything was exceptionally clean. I had two rooms, the suite and family room. The family room was sufficient but the suite was WOW! At first I thought a jacuzzi tub in my room would be cheesy but we loved it! During the day, the babies had a fun bubble bath and at night we had it all to our selves. The tub is HUGE. My husband is a big guy and we had plenty of room to spare. The bidet was a quirky bonus. My four older children had a blast there (ranging in age between 12-19). The ran wild making use of the board games, free putting green, two pools, ping pong table, and in-door basketball court. The free breakfast was great and alpine horn player was just adorable. I would definitely go again!

I think there were some mixed reviews with customer service, but our experience was great. They even called us 10 minutes after check-out to let us know that my husband forgot his flash drive.

The Enzian Inn made my first visit to Leavenworth really great.

As stated in some reviews, it is an older property, however everything is maintained up to the highest standards.  The rooms are fairly large with soft, comfortable beds and wonderful Bavarian elements.  The hotel provides a neat, little basket filled with large towels that you can take down to the pool areas.

We unfortunately missed the alphorn player, but we did have a wonderful breakfast in the large eating area, overlooking the snow-covered mountains.

This hotel is located in a really convenient area within walking distance to the center of town.  We enjoyed shopping and eating the wonderful foods available.  My baby especially enjoyed the bunnies in the hotel entrance, and the heated pool.  The staff was especially kind and welcoming to my baby, which was really appreciated.

I fully plan to visit Leavenworth and the Enzian Inn on my next visit to Washington state!

In the words of a 21st century young adult "this place is dope!" Beautiful rooms, my wife and I got a 1 queen bedroom and it is very cozy. The Inn is located at one end corner of the Bavarian Leavenworth. Walking distance away from all the stores and restaurants. Also Enzian extras are:

-Breakfast buffet 7:30-10:00 AM
-ALPHORN MUSIC: dropping phat-serenading morning beats! 8:15-9:15
-free mini golf
-Indoor outdoors pools 8:00-10:00
-Adult swim 10:00-11:00
-and piano concert NIGHTLY! 8:00-9:30

There's probably more but that's all I know. Now if I only knew what Enzian meant?
