Just home from a lovely stay at Haus Rohrbach!  We were warmly welcomed by Carol, and the inn is so beautifully decorate and lovely gardens.  It sits atop the valley overlooking the town, which was perfect for us.  We rode our bikes (easy ride) I to town for dinner and walking around, so it is peaceful an away from the hustle and bustle of the town.

Carol makes a mean peach and raspberry cobbler and is just the nicest hostess.  Very much enjoyed talking to her.  we enjoyed the pool and hottub under the stars.  My son had his pick of many games, puzzles available for use. The common area is large with a separate play room for kids.  Coffee tea water cocoa are available at your leisure.  The rooms are decorated in te Bavarian theme with ample towels, toiletries and spacious bathrooms.  Breakfast was Dutch babies pancakes, sausage, fruit, homemade jam, oj and coffee.

My sons first b and b experience - well worth it and we will be back!

This was our first stay at a B&B for my husband and I with our 8 year old son.  We'll never stay anywhere else again!  Carol and Mike were superb hostess and host.  Dessert every night was exceptional, as was the large breakfast in the morning.  Towels were softer than my towels at home!  Shampoo, conditioner and lotion provided in the bathroom smelled wonderful - which usually isn't the case.  Quiet area, wonderful view of the valley from the deck and from the pool and hottub.  Its located very close to town so next time we'll bring our bikes.  Highly recommend!!

Let me preface my review by sharing a couple caveats:
*I stayed at Haus Rohrbach with ~20 other folks on my dance troupe, so the environment was quite party-like
*I only paid $30 for my room, shared with two others, since our troupe was subsidizing the rest; normally, a $200 room rental is not in my budget

While I do feel better about explaining external factors that may have contributed to the five-star Yelp shout-out, I still think Haus Rohrbach is an outstanding B&B-like pension, run by Carol and Mike Wentink. Carol is the Supermom you envision on Lifetime movies: she obviously works hard in the garden, the kitchen, and the rest of the grounds to be sure guests are comfortable and enjoy a quality stay. And thank you, thank you, thank you, Carol & Mike, for not allowing smoking on your property. My allergies were already in high gear from all the beautiful flowers; cigarette smoke would have removed my already compromised ability to breathe.

We stayed in one of the two most expensive rooms two years in a row: the Snowberry room at $200/night (price as of 6/27/11). Very clean, one king bed, a queen sofa sleeper, a jacuzzi tub, bathroom, microwave, mini-fridge, and private deck. If you're thinking about spending extra on the Snowberry or Larkspur (they share a single wall), you'll want to know the huge windows face east, which can make sleeping in difficult. There are blinds, but we arose at 6am anyway. That's OK--we took a walk toward town before breakfast.

      Oh, the breakfast.

It's part of the package. We had a drop-dead delicious egg dish, served with fresh fruit, sausage, juice, and coffee. Carol was able to accommodate my gluten-free request, which I very much appreciated. Mike offered waffles to the four kiddies in our group.

Basically, Haus Rohrbach is a very nice place, run by very nice people. If you go, don't miss the breakfast.
