I stayed at the new Hotel Ballard last weekend. It is not to be confused with the older Ballard Inn down the street. Ballard is by far my favorite part of Seattle, there are tons of restaurants and shops walking distance away. The staff was super friendly and willing to help with restaurant reservations and driving directions. My husband and I stayed in a king room and it was absolutely beautiful, we both agreed it was the prettiest hotel room we have ever stayed in. The bed was so comfortable it was hard to get up in the morning. The only downside is that their restaurant does not serve breakfast yet. Overall, great location, beautiful rooms and pleasant atmosphere.

First impressions are everything - and they are getting an A+. Great hotel so far   Price was too high -- however the staff was wonderful, the hotel and it's location was a pleasant surprise -- I'd recommend this to all my friends (maybe in off-season for a lower price) -- but very very nice hotel A+

Very nice, near excellent restaurants, comfy beds, nice staff, free pass to the gym next door which is awesome.  Don't pass up the restaurant StoneBurner attached to the hotel!  It is fantastic!  The endive, frisée and mushroom salad is fantastic!  Pizza is great.

Unfortunately, I am the second person to write a review.  I was hoping I would be the first.  This does not concern the hotel, but the bar and restaurant staff that gave me the "get the hell out of here" as I poked my head in to see the new restaurant last night.  My wife and I eat at many of the fine restaurants Ballard has to offer.  Last night we went for a bike ride to Ballard to have some oysters and a couple pints at a great restaurant up the street.  On our way home I poked my head into the Hotel Ballard Restaurant to see what it looks like as I heard it was pretty nice.   As I did a member of the female wait staff glared at me and yelled what do you want we are not open.  I asked when they would open and she was very rude in her answer and short.  A chef or cook stepped in and answered my question a little more friendly, but still in the manner of get the "F" out we are not open.  From a potential patrons point of view,  If I were opening a restaurant and bar I would tell my staff to be kind and engaging to potential clientele even if I were prepping for your initial opening but closed.  The female waiter that was so very rude does not belong in the customer service business.  This first impression goes a long way when I tell my friends about this experience.  I love to go out to eat and drink and I spend a good amount of money enjoying Seattle's restaurants. Hotel Ballard is in a very competitive market in Ballard and there are many great restaurants within walking distance.  Separating yourself with a kind, welcome, engaging attitude may help.  Hiring staff with a bad attitude will not suit your restaurant and bar business well.  This experience, as quick as it was, left me feeling I was imposing on a new restaurant and not welcome.  My question was when will you be open?  The answer I got was "go F yourself we are not open now!  I hope this attitude does not carry over when you are open for business.  If management would like to ask the staff about this experience, I came in at about 7.45 pm with a bike helmet on.  There was 1 chef and 1 female waiter that I could see.  They know who they are.  The female should be kept in the back doing prep and not in front of the customer.

Awesome Hotel, I travel on business at least 100 nights per year and this is definitely in my top 3 ever. Customer Service is 2nd to none. The Bar/Restaurant was excellent as well, very friendly. I will be going back there every time I visit Seattle. Having the Olympic Athletic Club next door is a bonus, one of the nicest clubs for a workout that you will find anywhere.

Amazing!  By the way, when did Ballard get so hip?  By far one of the most beautiful rooms I have stayed in in my travels around the country. The prices they offer now, will be short lived.  Get it while you can!  I was going to go into Seattle after a week of work and staying here.  I have changed my mind and decided to stay over the weekend and travel into Seattle.

I stayed in the courtyard suites on the roof for a night just to get away and get some work done. I soaked in the giant bathtub and ordered food that was delivered from Stoneburner downstairs and it arrived in a picnic basket. I would move in if I could.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Ballard for our honeymoon and had a wonderful time! They upgraded us to a Courtyard Suite upon arrival. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was extremely spacious, and the bathtub was very nice! The Ballard neighborhood is so much fun - I would highly recommend staying there if you are taking a trip to Seattle!

Just finished up a two night stay. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

The location is walking distance is to tons of great places to eat or grab a pint. There is a music club across the street that can be a little noisy but overall the room was very quiet.

This review is for the Hotel Ballard. Our overall stay was fantastic; most of the staff were very nice and friendly with the exception of one. When we checked out (at 4 am) we were treated as if we had tried to scam the hotel; a very accusatory tone was used with us. This check-out process (including an attempt to charge incorrect rates because we were moved rooms in the middle of our stay not by choice) caused us to be later to the airport than we had wished. If I were hotel management I would remove this specific staff member from my list of employees. He treated customers in the absolute wrong way and ended our trip on a very bad tone.

Customer service, decor, location... This place has it all!!!! Definitely made my Seattle trip one for the books. Even though it is not in downtown Seattle, this place is well worth staying outside the hustle an bustle... Will definitely be staying here next time I visit!

    Love love love

I want to pack my bags and move into this hotel forever! I came through last week while a friend was staying in Ballard and happened to check out their hotel room and some of the incredible amenities this hotel has to offer. I have to say, I'm absolutely blown away! So much so that I'll have a hard time recommending any other hotel in Seattle now that I've been here. And that's saying a lot because I live downtown and Ballard is always at least a 15 minute drive from my house. WIth so many options closer to my house, I didn't think I'd ever find a more gorgeous hotel.

Everything is spotless and brand spanking new. The wallpaper, the floors, the chandeliers - it's all drop dead gorgeous. I took the elevator up to see the rooftop terrace and found a gorgeous event space that would be perfect for weddings, corporate events, big birthdays, etc. With sweeping waterfront views and plenty of indoor/outdoor space to host easily 100 people, I couldn't think of a better event venue in the entire city. I did some research on the hotel when I got home and also found that the rate for the rooms (there are only 29) are really reasonable. Even for a weekend getaway this hotel is the perfect escape.

This review is for for Olympic Rooftop Pavilion in Hotel Ballard.

This space is absolutely beautiful!  Would be great for any type of celebration, big or small.  It would be a perfect spot for a sunny warm outdoor/indoor event as apparently the wall of windows fully open up.  We had rain but it was still gorgeous and we could see plenty of boats and water from inside the pavilion.

I worked with Elisabeth in planning the event and she was very nice and professional.  The day of staff and chef were all great as well.

One downside was we didn't set the menu until two days prior to the event, they didn't have the current seasonal menu available for us to look through so we just had to suggest a couple options of what we'd like to see and they built a menu around that.  The food turned out AMAZING so that didn't end up being a problem :)  You have to use the restaurant Stoneburner that is part of the hotel for all the food & beverages and I was a little hesitant at first because a few people I know who have eaten at the restaurant in the past said the food was just decent, but nothing special.  We didn't have one negative thing to say about the meal we were served except maybe that the cupcakes were just very basic.  I'm not a huge dessert person so without having a current menu to look at I just suggested cupcakes as I thought those would be the easiest and cutest for our baby shower.  They were fine but for how much they cost I would have preferred something else.  They room is set up with its own bar so all the drinks can be served right there.

The space is so classy and elegant you don't need many (if any) decorations to spruce it up.  We added a lot of personal touches but we really could have scaled that down and still gotten an elegant feel from the space.

Very pleased with how our event turned out and the professionalism of the staff at Hotel Ballard and I highly recommend the Rooftop Pavilion for anyone hosting a baby/bridal shower, anniversary party, etc.

What an awesome hotel.  If it's available, get a courtyard suite on the 5th floor.  Definitely worth it.  The staff is super friendly.  The room was probably one of the best rooms I've stayed in for what we were looking for.  Killer 2 person bathtub.  You get to use the gym right next door.  Fantastic experience.

Small Ballard boutique hotel near everything in Ballard.

I stayed here while house hunting.  Yes, I am moving.  My husband has stayed at this hotel several times and has told me how comfortable with a lot of style this little hotel is.

It is in a great location for Ballard travelers or business people.  The people that work there are all very nice and more than willing to help.  One nice perk they have is their partnership with a good gym that is attached to the hotel.  It is a full gym with great workout equipment and several classes from cardio to yoga.  They also have a restaurant attached to the hotel that has a few great salads I stayed here while house hunting.  Yes, I am moving.  My husband has stayed at this hotel several times and has told me how comfortable with a lot of style this little hotel is.
especially the salad called "The Kitchen Sink".  They do have a full service bar...in fact the restaurant is mostly the bar.

The hotel stays pretty full every week so you need to book a reservation as soon as you know you need a place in Ballard.

This review is for the restaurant., Stoneburner.  First, the customer service is great--beginning w/the hostess, bartender and waitress. We actually went during the Ballard Festival. I was looking for fresh food and behold--a sign that stated "fresh local food." EVERY taste bud was immediately awaken. This place was holy salvation. The only alternative to the greasy food offered during the festival. We had the Brick Pressed Chicken and spring greens. ..Frisee & Endive Salad... Dessert - custard w/fresh peaches & raspberries---all yummy yummy!

I wish I lived closer. I would frequent more often. We have gone again-still great service and food.  I am thinking about planning a girls weekend for my birthday. This place would be perfect. Just wish it was on the waterfront.

Hotel Ballard is a very chic hotel, far removed from downtown, in the idyllic Ballard neighborhood.  Here, you are situated on Ballard Avenue, which is a lovely place to begin a stroll of the neighborhood, which might lead you all the way to the locks or to Puget Sound.  You are also right across from Rudy's barbershop, so a haircut is tantalizingly within reach.

As for the hotel itself, the King Suite is very fine.  The bed is one of the comfiest I've slept in.  The faux-fireplace is cute.  There is a balcony which overlooks the avenue, almost enticing you to step outside and sing or converse with passersby on the street. The shower and tub are nice, bu the hot water was a bit wonky.

But, Ballard and the surrounding neighborhoods are very different (I'd say better)  from the Downtown/Belltown scene, and this is the perfect place to stay and sleep when you're exploring these parts.

Absolutely beautiful hotel!  My husband and I loved it here.  I booked a room for my birthday weekend and this hotel really saved our stay in Seattle after a really bad experience at Hotel Monaco downtown.

The decor here is gorgeous and everyone super friendly and helpful.  We both thought this was the nicest hotel we've ever stayed in.

The attached restaurant is also very good.  We thoroughly enjoyed all the food.  The beet salad was excellent and I really liked my potato pizza.

We joke about wanting to move in.  Thank you Hotel Ballard!  We will definitely be back.

Pro: beautiful suite with huge bathroom/tub, fireplace. Super cozy and comfortable.

Cons: Flew in from Austin. Went straight to our room to relax, to find out there's a company party a few feet outside our room. Beer bottles in the planters that were never picked up, loud belligerent people everywhere. Fire alarm was pulled so we had to evacuate and wait 30 min before let up to our room again. Water in the sink/shower pulsates from being cold and hot. To top it off all the lights in the bathroom and living room completely shut off and wouldn't turn back on.

Decided to stay at the Edgewood for the remainder of our stay. So there's that.

The better half and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Ballard. It's a small boutique hotel located in the Ballard district of Seattle. It is located near so many restaurants! I appreciated the fact that they provided guests with maps of Ballard, complete with local listings so it was a breeze to explore the neighborhood. Along with our stay, we also received passes to the adjacent gym facilities. While I was too intimidated to visit said gym, I was in awe of the facility.

I docked off a star just because they charged for parking. Unfortunately, on one of the nights we parked in the garage, we forgot to display our hotel parking pass and so we were issued a violation ticket. While I do understand that this garage serves the general public, I would think that any cars parking in the garage overnight would most likely staying in a hotel in the area. However, this is just my personal opinion and we completely own the fact that we forgot to display our parking pass, although at that point in time, we'd been parking there nightly for four nights in a row.

This is a beautiful hotel - charming, classy, and chic. Truly a gem in the heart of Ballard. But I have to rate solely on customer service. I had an amazing experience from the very beginning as I began to set up a group rate for myself and our wedding guests. Travis assisted me initially and when he departed mid-way through to our wedding, he made sure to introduce me to Jamie who then took over. The transition was smooth and Jamie was just as accommodating and helpful. The luxury suite I stayed in was gorgeous and felt like a home away from home. After my wedding, my new husband and I came back to our suite to find a bottle of champagne and a congratulations card signed by all of the staff on site that day. What a special surprise! I can't say enough good things about this place --- if you're looking for a luxury hotel without the luxury price tag and one that is just a short 15 minutes away from all Seattle's tourist attractions, stay at the Hotel Ballard...I promise you'll love it!
