The hotel is still undergoing renovations, but our stay was exceptional.  Our room reflected the boutique hotel vibe they are going for in the lobby.  It was quiet even though the monorail ran by in the street in front of our window.  Top Pot Donuts is just a 1/2 a block away.  We reserved our room online and took advantage of the the third night free option that was available. It also came with $20.00 a day in their restaurant.   We didn't have a car, but found everything within walking distance or took the bus in the downtown free area.

cool new spot!  convenient location, friendly service, slick unusual comfortable rooms.  liked the amenities (coffee, wifi, bathroom).  would definately stay here again and so happy to see these older, in-fill hotels getting a facelift - it's greener than tearing them down, they are historic & interesting & offer a great alternative to more budget-concious travelers who want a unique/fun/cool boutique hotel without being in some fancy-pants highrise.  the lobby may be the coolest thing about this place honestly, had we had a longer trip i would have sat there reading & chilling & sipping coffee.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The location of the hotel is in the middle of downtown and I could access many downtown locations by walk. Interior was artistic, modern, and clean. Elderly people may not like the look, though. The hotel offered free wifi service. However, speed of the Internet was Sooooo~~~~~ slow!!!! I could barely use it during my stay of 4 nights. Food at Max's cafe was ok. I chose the place because of its affordable price. I might have given five stars if I had the better Internet experience, which was extremely important for my business.

Loved the modern feel and great vibe this hotel gave off.  The bed was very comfortable and room was actually cozy.  Also, it was very centrally located and it was a short walk to everything.

My wife and I loved this place! The restaurant was terrific (not open for dinner though), staff was kind and courteous. The room attendant even gave us a cooler filled with ice when she noticed that we purchased drinks at the nearby convenience store (we didn't even ask for it).

We picked this hotel because it was reasonably priced and conveniently located, and we were not disappointed. It was a great home base for our three nights in Seattle. The downsides being the thin walls/doors (made worse by some inconsiderate neighbors) and the super hard mattress. Still, after a long day of adventuring it was great to come back to a warm, cozy place, and the hotel had an amazing aesthetic. I would recommend it, especially to someone looking for a hotel located by the Seattle Center.

unfriendly front desk.
hairs in the bed.
stains on the duvet.
noisy.
ugly decor.
tv didn't work.
wifi didn't work.
bed wasent attached to headboard. it was on wheels and would roll out of place, leaving a huge gap between the wall and the bed.

i wouldn't suggest this place to a friend.

Pretty good service. We got there too early on our trip, they helped keep our luggage until we came back to check in. Front desk gave us a map nd show us a lot of spots to visit. The rooom is very home feeling, more like an ikea display room lol pretty nice but the downside for me was if I turn on the heater, therewould be no hot water. I called front desk boutit she jst told me to wait for wtfudge. I waited for a long time but no hot water until I decide to turn the heater off.

Note: When I was here, they had just completed a major renovation, so some things may have been in a transition period.
I was in Seattle for the third time on a quick apartment hunt. I was looking for a hotel in Belltown that was close to the apartments I was thinking of renting, and Hotel Five seemed like a great choice.
When I walked in, I was impressed with the setup and the ambiance. It definitely feels very trendy. (Although there was no sign outside the hotel when I checked in. They actually hung it up on my second night. Again, renovating.) The front desk staff was polite and friendly, although not super knowledgeable about the area.
My room was about average sized for a hotel in the area, and it was very well decorated. Again, everything about this hotel says "trendy." The bed was comfy and they provided plenty of towels, etc. However, my hotel room did not have a refrigerator or the usual hotel booklet containing information about the hotel or the area. I was not able to get WiFi in my room, and I notified the front desk but nothing changed. The TV channel selection is okay, but not great (something like 15 channels.)
The shower was actually sort of difficult to operate -- no affordances about how to turn it on or which way to turn it to adjust the temperature. Although I notice things like this a lot, so maybe I'm just weird! Also, watch out for the toilet. When you flush it sounds like it may blast off into space.
The biggest plus of this place is the location. It's a stone's throw from some great Belltown food and drink, and less than a 10 minute walk from Pike Place Market.
I'd stay here again if the price was right, but I'm not too attached to it.

I guess for the price it was clean enough. Just don't expect a whole lot. Our sink was leaking and when we called down for a taxi (twice) it took a long tine so we ditched the taxi. Best part really is it's right across the street from top pot donuts. Yummy!!!

The hotel was nice and had a modern city feel to it.  However, I don't feel it is a great value at an average of $150 per night (we stayed 4).  Don't fall for the 3rd night free deal.  They jack the price for the first 2 nights.  I checked both rates.

We called before arrival to ask if they had a pool/hot tub and were told no.  So we planned for a few relaxing hot baths only to be shocked that there was no bathtub in our room.  Upon calling to switch, we were told they only have a few per floor and none were available.  Our shower clogged up.  Several times we went to get the free Starbucks coffee in the lobby only for it to be empty or cold.

The rooms were small but comfortable; the best thing about the hotel was the restaurant breakfast and walking proximity to the city.

Stayed here for three days and was left wanting for nothing, warm, clean, reliable internet connection, free coffee, bottled water, amazing pillows, great soaps and lotions, towels and best of all a funky modern vibe. Right on the edge of Belltown we were more or less walking distance from everything we needed or could have wanted to see. The folks at the front desk were friendly and helpful. Memories made within that hotel were just as meaningful as the ones made outside it on this trip. This was somewhere to look forward to getting back to. Honestly, though I'm not gonna call it hotel heaven, there were some flaws that while were rather minor, are worth noting. The cable selection was already quite poor, but we found that some channels lacked sound or had gone missing, we appreciated having a good heater in the Seattle winter, but it was simply too loud and they had a shower as opposed to a full tub which would have been nice after a long day of exploring, although the hot water took a while to kick in anyways. All in all though, it was a good experience and we may very well be back! Check their website for promotions and deals before booking through expedia, often they have better bargains right there!

Very quaint funky hotel in the heart of the city.  One of the cleanest places we've stayed at, and we've stayed at many.  No carpet which I really like.  Bathroom was spotless.  Bed comfy with real pillows.  Walking distance to any and everything the city has to offer.  I would have gave 5 stars, but when we went to the cafe for breakfast, which was 5 star, my husband ask the desk clerk where he could get a newspaper, and the clerk didn't know.

Good location right in the heart of Seattle's attractions, and the parking rate was less than most of the other downtown hotels. Other than that not a lot to brag about, it took us about 30 minutes to get checked in when we arrived even though it wasn't busy at all. Our room was pretty average, just nothing really stood out as really nice. For the price I got I would stay here again I guess, but if comparable rates to other hotels I would try another.

First off, I've never stayed in a hotel room that had a Keurig in it. Not even in Vegas, so that was a nice touch. The hotel has free coffee and mini cupcakes, which is another great thing about this place. We stayed in room 535. It had hardwood floors, 2 hard and 2 soft pillows (important to know since some people can't sleep on certain pillows), huge and plush bath towels, Tommy Bahama shampoo, conditioner, soap & lotion attached to the walls. There is no tub and the shower is a tiny bit small, but it's a boutique hotel so that's what I expected. The bathroom itself is actually quite spacious. There's a flat screen Samsung tv and the only thing I would change is the location of the tv. It would be more convenient to have it in the middle of the desk, not off to one side, so that everyone in the room can see it comfortably.  Not a big issue, though. My view was of construction workers working on the building across the street, but they weren't as loud as I thought they might be.

Now for the location. I read the other reviews about how the location is great and what not, but to be honest, this is my third trip to Seattle and I found the location to be a bit far from local attractions. It is true that the Market and all is a short walk away, but it seems much longer when you realize how many times you actually go to the Market and all that surrounds it. This hotel is almost right in between the Space Needle at Seattle Center and the Westlake Center, which is where the monorail to Seattle Center starts. If I were to book another trip to Seattle, I would stay closer Pike Avenue is. There are a lot of attractions around the Market and in Pioneer Square. To get to the Market from Hotel Five, you have to walk about 10-15 minutes. In the summer, that may be fine, but in the dead of winter, it was quite a walk. Also, getting a hotel room by Westlake Center means you can walk to the monorail and it will take you directly to the Space Needle for $5.50 round trip. It took about ten minutes to walk to the Needle from Hotel Five. Not that walking is bad, but this walk seemed much longer because it's not the most attractive area to walk through. And it's about a 20 minute walk to Pioneer Square. So if you stay here, catch the Light Link at 5th and Pine and take it to Pioneer Square. It's only one stop away, but you'll be glad you did it instead of walking those slightly inclined hills.

Overall the hotel was a great little find with the right touches. I think it has all those touches to make up for it's slightly less than ideal location, though.

I just got back from stay at Hotel 5. I must say it was hit with me!
I had the 3 night special "stay 2 nights get the 3rd night free" AWESOME!
My boyfriend and I had a $25.00 complimentary breakfast, and that was tasty! I had the oatmeal and he had biscuits and gravy, which he craved 2 days later. We were walking distance to the Space Needle and everything else. The market place was like a 10 minute walk from the hotel. I loved the hotel and would definitely stay there again. The staff was friendly.
I noticed someone on here had cab trouble. Well we called a cab and the driver showed up in 5 minutes. The driver did mention that it is a little harder for them to find the Hotel since it use to be The Ramada until this past March.
I loved Seattle!!!

This is a really nice hotel for the money. The front desk staff is very friendly. Rooms are clean and modern. Bed is comfy.  Walking distance to most major attractions or transit.

Got a little road noise in the room and I know it's a weird "complaint" but the sheets are like commercial grade, a little rough and loud when you move.

Loved this hotel. The location, price, decor, everything was great. Loved the free Starbucks, in room keurig, and free mini cupcakes, and found the bed to be really comfortable. Perfect spot to explore Seattle from. My only critique would be that they don't have an airport shuttle, but really if that is a deal breaker for you then you are probably already planning to stay in Seatac. Plan to pay for parking, use wifi for free (as well as an in lobby computer for use during your stay), and take advantage of the restaurant if you so choose, which is open pretty limited hours between breakfast and lunch.

Checked in late but was greeted promptly upon entry into the lobby and check-in was a breeze!  I chose this hotel based on great reviews, location to downtown, and most importantly gratis wifi.  I went up to my room which was a good size, with hardwood floors excellent lighting, and a great spacious bathroom with stand-up shower.  The room has a very modern feel and the bed was very comfortable with out of this world pillows.  A couple downsides to the room - it was overlooking the street which has the above ground rail line and a lovely view of the less desirables sleeping on the opposite sidewalk.  I didn't hear a lot of street noise or the rail but I'm a sound sleeper and had a cross country flight, so others might have an issue.  While the room was clean enough to my standards, there were some hairs in the sink and hanging off the newly folded hand towel by the sink.  Those kind of things don't bother me, but again, they might others.  The rest of the room was very very clean though, looked very new, and had ample power  outlets, a Kuerig coffeemaker, iron, and even a big umbrella for use during your stay.  My main complaint came when I tried to log onto the internet to do some work; this was a business trip afterall.  No dice.  I got connected, but the bandwidth was so slow that I couldn't load a single page.  After 30 mintues I finally gave up.  So much for the gratis wifi.  One other issue I had was the back upper parking lot was a bit dark.  I checked in pretty late and while I didn't feel uncomfortable I would have expected a little more light in the area for safety (parking is $15/day by the way.)  All in all I loved the hotel.  I thought it was hip, modern, perfect location downtown within a short walk to many attractions and restuarants, and despite all my points I'd give them another try.

Located in the downtown area of Seattle you can find this fun, sheik, and modern hotel.  This hotel is located in the heart of Seattle; a five-minute walk from the train station, a ten minute walk to Pikes Place, and a ten minute walk to the space needle. It is definitely surrounded but wonderful restaurants and half a block from the Top Pot Doughnut shop (which by the way is wonderful). Aside from a great location, the hotel places freshly brewed Starbucks coffee in their lobby long with pineapple mini cupcakes, a very nice touch!  The rooms have really nice bathrooms.  The shower heads they have are almost self massaging.  And the complimentary soap, shampoo, and conditioner are nice Tommy Bahamas stuff along with soft plush towels.
The customer service is great.  They provided my friend and I with a helpful map so get around the city.  Price wise it's not too bad, I believe we paid around $150 a night.  Needless to say my friend and I enjoyed our stay  at Hotel 5!

Stayed here 28th/29th April 2013 during short stopover in Seattle.  Super friendly staff, always most obliging.  Decor should be seen to be believed, as Jazzy as Seattle itself.   Breakfast and lunch available in house, but not dinner - food ok but limited menu.   Good restaurant , Icon Grille, two blocks away.
Near enough to everything that is happening in Seattle but do try to figure out public transport in Seattle if you need it - not easy to fathom.

I loved this place! The staff was amazing and extremely accommodating, The room was incredible with modern artistic flair and I had a wonderful time staying here, especially as it was the first place I stayed coming to visit from Maui, With Tommy Bahama soaps, cane sugar for coffee, how the staff acted and treated you and many other small things that brought the aloha spirit to the hotel. Plus it
had 2 40"+ HDTV's in the rooms living room area and bedroom area, a nice desk for me to work at and a superb bathroom with a walk in shower that has multiple shower heads in all the right places! If you are looking for a hip yet upscale and still affordable place to stay in down town, this is the place! 5 Stars in my book, and I've traveled a lot! (8 hotels in the last 3 weeks previous to staying at this hotel, prices ranging from 100 to 350 a night and this was by far my favorite!) Oh, and they had complimentary bicycles in the lobby for the guests to use, which I thought was a nice touch. The Dining area is nice, I only had breakfast there, and I am an Eggs Benedict connoisseur ;-) and this place was pretty dang good! easily in the top 5 of the traditional style Eggs Benedict, next time I plan on trying their smoked salmon Benedict if they still have it! I HIGHLY recommend staying here and I personally am looking forward to my next stay at Hotel FIVE in Seattle!

We wanted a centrally located hotel that wasn't too expensive and Hotel Five completely blew us away with its bold modern decor and friendly service. The city views from our room at night were pretty incredible and we could walk to Pike Place Market and most other attractions.

Breakfast was not included but the trade-off was that instead of a few stale bagels and pastries, you get made-to-order omelettes, eggs, and other goodies for around $10 per person. Our floor had just been renovated with an uber-stylish bathrooms, stenciled window shades, and funky paintings on the wall, but  (at least when we were there), if you ventured to the ice machine on the second floor, you could see the bland colors and generic paintings from when it was a Ramada (which we found funny rather than off-putting).

Now, given how inexpensive Hotel Five is compared to other hotels in the area, I really can't complain, but I was a teensy bit disappointed by the fitness room. It's tiny (as are most hotel fitness rooms) but the cross-trainer and treadmill don't have a ledge for holding a magazine or iPhone. It's a small thing, I know, but it made my workout a bit of bummer. Just adding one of those plastic book holders would have improved my experience, but overall, I'd highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is in a prime location! It's walking distance from just about everything you'd want to do in Seattle. They do offer bikes to rent (we didn't use them), an umbrella (which was required during our trip!) and we rode the shuttle to downtown for a Mariners game. The price of the room was very reasonable and the room was comfortable. The shower did seem a little tight but it was just fine. The staff was friendly and helpful, if we ever go back to Seattle, you can find us at Hotel Five!

I would probably say, more like 3.5 stars.  2.5-3 stars for front desk receptionists, 4 stars for the room.

Pros:
I liked the decor of the room (very modern), and the free internet service was excellent.  The room has a good amount of space, but there was no tub.  Shower only.   It is conveniently located to major attractions, though at this time, it is pretty noisy amidst a few construction-related activities nearby.  I appreciate the Starbucks coffee and the cupcakes they have complimentary in the lobby in the afternoon.  The hotel lobby decor is also nice.  I also found out, from overhearing other guests that there are bikes available for use, free of charge.  Front desk never told us that.  We didn't use it though since it was raining the whole time we were there (What a surprise!? It's Seattle!).  Reasonably priced for the area.

Cons:
I liked the place, but my biggest gripe was with the front desk people.  I just felt that, collectively, they did not appear to make guests feel special and/or appreciated. When I was booking the room, I mentioned to the lady that online, a special rate was featured for a 3rd night free when booking 3 consecutive nights.  She needed to ask someone several times how to find that on her computer.  Then, I was explaining what it said online, she responded something along the lines of, 'maybe you should just book it online, if it's cheaper.'  Several minutes later, she was able to figure it out, and I was able to make reservations over the phone. When we checked-in, she was nice, not very friendly, but she did her work. When we arrived at our room, the view in the room wasn't the best.  It wasn't the worst thing in the world, but we called just to check whether there was another room available.  The lady at the front desk replied, 'the computer assigned that room, I can't change it right now, but you can check at 10am tomorrow, if you want.' It wasn't that big of a deal, and we just decided to stay in the room during the rest of our stay.  After 3 nights, we decided to stay an extra night in the city.  We asked the front desk guy what the best rate available they had, he gave the rack rate.  Then, we asked about AAA discount, then he looked it up and said that AAA discount was possible.  Then, we found out that Hotels.com had a price that was lower and asked whether they could price match. The guy at the desk said that they didn't take rates from 3rd parties.  We let it go and paid the AAA price, even though in retrospect, I noticed on the email sent to me from the hotel, it stated that hotel guarantees best rates.  Overall, though the stay itself was decent, I felt that the people at the front desk only tried to be friendly enough to get through the day.  I know that I was looking for deals and a better value, but I wasn't being rude to them or demanding.  I was made to feel like they didn't care if I stayed at the hotel or not.

I cannot comment on the fitness room equipment since I didn't get to use it, but the fitness room appeared very tiny with only 3 or so machines.  But at least it's available, if you need to work out.

Conclusion:
If visiting Seattle again, I might look at other places first.  If I end up staying at Hotel Five again, I will try to limit my interaction with the front desk people.

I liked this hotel! It was affordable, nice, and walking distance to a ton of great places in Seattle. It kind of reminded me of a college dorm room, so if you're looking for an upscale hotel experience, this isn't the place for that. But the staff was super nice, and amenities were nice too. If we came back to Seattle, we would probably stay here again.

on my recent seattle trip, i almost went with an airbnb stay when i realized that with all this rain, i needed a constant stream of fresh, dry towels that only a hotel could offer. after a lot of research, i decided on hotel five for the convenience of being downtown and for its pricing.

hotel five got its name from being on fifth street. and with that, they went crazy with the 5 theme. it has a modern look and feel to it. the lobby area was sleek and artsy. the rooms are small, but they made great use of the space. it somewhat reminded me of the cosmopolitan in vegas.

anyhow, the front desk was quite helpful throughout the stay. i think it's probably one of the reasons why i rated this hotel so high. a couple things to note: the bikes are free to borrow - which is great for non-rainy days. i did not find out until the last day, but i still took advantage of it. you can see much more of the city at your own pace when you can bike around it. seattle is very cyclist friendly. oh, and the complimentary water bottles were a nice touch.

cons: although it did not bother me, i should mention that this hotel is located near a fire station. you will hear the trucks every so often. also, the walls are thin. i don't think the occupancy rate was very high during out stay so it did not affect us much, but you can easily hear the people in the adjacent room and the hallway. lastly, my only complaint would be the elevator. it was darn slow, and not a smart one. it would stop if someone hit the UP button even though it was going down. i didn't mind taking the stairs every so often, but sometimes you cannot avoid it if you're carrying a lot of luggage.

note: i found the best deal through kayak.com . with kayak, i got charged the same price for weekdays and weekends, in addition to having 20%. going through other venues did not get me the same great rate.

i'd stay here again. 4.5 stars.

Great hotel! I was a little concerned when we first arrived as the outside of the building and hallways looked a little grungier than I had envisioned, but the room was beautiful and really nice, particularly for the price (the lobby area is also great)! I don't have much else new to say besides what has already been said in other reviews here. I love that it is pet-friendly, and the $20/day fee seems pretty reasonable. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

I booked this hotel for our Seattle stay as it looked like a fun place to stay. The decor is contemporary and not your run of the mill. The rooms actually have color!!! Great amenities in each room including k-cups/kerig, water bottles, great bathroom and hardwood floors!! The parking is super reasonable ($15/night) and there are free bikes to use (but get up early as they go fast!).  This all earns the 3 star rating.

The cafe has some tasty breakfast items and are reasonable.
Front desk were super helpful for recommendations, directions and always seemed cheery and even gave us some bandaids when blisters formed after walking the area. One negative about the front desk, I expected them to ask how our stay was when we checked out, they didn't, perhaps they knew it wasn't fantastic since we'd called the front desk complaining about noise multiple times....more about that below...

Like others have said, the walls are paper thin. Doors seem to slam shut and you hear everything from the rooms around you! Our first night there was a dispute down the hall and we had to call the front desk multiple times to have something done about it. Our second morning had an early wake up at 6 as the alarm in the next room was going off for over 1/2 hr, again, had to call front desk. You can't sleep in because you hear the cleaning  staff, people coming and going....it would be worth the splurge to stay in a quite room elsewhere while on holidays.

My travelling partner commented that it felt like a hostel.

As far as trendy and great location (10 min to everything including market, space needle, light rail, great restaurants) its a win. As far as relaxing and quiet, 1 star. I would pass on staying here if you can find a similar deal elsewhere.

This Canadian will return to Seattle, but not to Hotel Five...its lucky its name doesn't end in star!

Great location. Friendly staff. Nice room. Comfortable beds. Great shower. Nice amenities in the room - keurig coffee maker with k cups included, 2 water bottles each day, handy individually wrapped make up remover towelettes. The big negative was thin walls! We had neighbors come back in the early morning and we could hear their yelling match crystal clear. You could also hear anyone talking in the hallway. Other than the noise it was awesome.

I stayed at this hotel in early January on our first trip to Seattle and it was booked on Expedia.com . Looking at the pictures online, it did look funky and different from your normal hotel but the selling point was the 15$/day over-night parking fee which was the lowest in almost all hotels we looked at.

When we arrived to the hotel, it seems almost entirely empty. I don't think I ever saw another guest in the lobby or seating area at any point. There was two people at the front desk when we arrived and they were not any point during our stay even slightly friendly. They just did their job and that was it. I guess as a person who has worked in customer service and front desk positions, I understand that standing there 8 hours per day and greeting people is not the most fun thing to do but I expect to feel a little more welcome.

The actual hotel room itself was not what I'd usually expect out of a hotel room but it had all the amenities we needed, thank goodness for that hairdryer!!! The bathroom was stocked with Tommy Bahamas Soap/shampoo/conditioner/moisturizer which smelled wonderful but the shampoo/conditioner were almost out and were only refilled everyday with what seemed like just a few drops which wha inconvenient. The bed was comfy and the keurig coffee/tea maker and complimentary water bottles were a godsend on those hungover mornings. The aircondioner/heater combo was great and kept the room at proper temperatures at all times, I just wish we could open the windows as they are sealed shut and it did get a bit stuffy in the room at some points.

On the bright side, Top Pot donuts is just steps away, as is Pike place market, lots of tourist attractions, wonderful restaurants, bars and 24h restaurants for those late night munchies.

was only in Seattle for a night post Alaska cruise. this hotel was about 1/2 mile away from the pier and within walking distance to the attractions we wanted to visit. (central to space needle & pike market).

we arrived early, about 11am, and couldn't check in til 3pm. no biggie- left our luggage with the front desk and went to explore. went back at 3 to check in and power nap before going back out. the room is pretty spacious and so is the bathroom. at first we thought there was no lock on the bathroom but there is a small latch on the far right side of the sliding door.

the staff was friendly and helpful. provide us with some info and called a cab for us when we needed to goto the airport.

reason I gave this hotel 3* review is b/c the pillows were not comfy at all. and the next morning when I was mid-way into washing my hands the water stopped working. yes, totally stopped working. so my friend had to pour water on my hands from a bottle so I could get the soap off. they fixed the problem fairly quickly... i'm just glad i wasn't in the shower when the plumbing stopped working.

This place is awesome!  I was staying in Seattle with my girlfriend and I decided to stay here during out romantic engagement weekend.  I definitely made the right choice! this place is stylish and has unbeatable location.  We were able to walk to the space needle and pike place market in a few minutes and enjoyed every bit of Seattle in between.  They upgraded me for free when they heard I was going to be proposing to my girlfriend during out stay, and the Urban suite was amazing, great views, awesome décor and functionality.  My only one complaint was that the shower never got very hot, but the multi head shower was still very relaxing and posh.  I would recommend Hotel 5 to anyone staying in Seattle who wants excellent service, a hip central location at a very reasonable price! Five Stars!

HIP Modern digs in a GREAT location near TOP POT Donuts. Walk to the market or downtown shopping. You can check out a bike and parking is only $15 and you can come and go as you please. Free WI-FI and the bath towels are soft. What? Hey, good towels matter.

Besides the thin walls (heard the neighbors getting it on) and the loud noisy hotel guests on the 4th floor the hotel is a very modern nicely decorated hotel. I love the wood floors and the slow closing toilet seats. The hotel is also within walking distance of the places we frequented. There's a donut shop around the corner, theater and DT Target a few blocks away, and nice restaurants very close by. Parking is $15/day but there is complimentary water bottles in your rooms and also mini cupcakes and coffee in the lobby (cupcakes were too dry for me). .
I would definitely stay here if I were to visit Seattle again

This hotel is simple, not super fancy, efficient.  I give it 5 stars because what it lacks in luxury, it makes up for in customer service and efficiency.  The front desk staff is great!  Give these guys a raise or good benefits because they are doing a great job.  Customer service can literally make or break your stay.  I like that they are water conscious, they provide free water, coffee and tea in room everyday, and free coffee and cupcakes in the lobby every afternoon.  The best thing is the bikes that they offer for guests to check out.  The bikes are cruisers so sometimes hills can be tricky (like, this would NOT work in SF!) but around Seattle was fine.  It's nice not to have to walk or take a cab everywhere if you are visiting and not renting a car.  I read some previous reviews about uncomfortable bedding but I found the bed, linens and pillows to be more than adequate.  It would be cool if you could rent movies on the TV but not a deal breaker.  I would definitely stay in a Hotel Five again!

I give this hotel four stars because of the great value we got for a stay in the downtown location.  3 reasons why I would recommend this hotel...1. Location location location!!!it is within the free ride zone of the metro and right smack in the middle of pikes place and space needle. 2. Clean and comfortable-its more of a boutique hotel so while smaller than a normal standard room it was perfect for 2 people.  3. Staff was friendly and helpful...
MUST try TOP POT Doughtnuts next door!

Fantastic location, stuck right in the middle between Pike Place Market area and the Space Needle. EVERYTHING is within walking distance.

Parking lot was smaller than I expected but I always found parking. Free wi-fi was great but a little spotty; you have to open up your web browser after every session in order for the connection to go through - very strange.

Complimentary bottles of water in your room, replenished every day [which I found out day4 :( ]. Free starbucks in the lobby [which I found out day 5 :(( ].

Minor gripes: no towel hangers in the bathroom. I had to hang my wet towel on coat hangers in the bathroom for it to dry. Cafe closes at 1:30pm. No food afterwards. WHATTTTTTTTTT.

I managed. 2 blocks away from Top Pot Dougnuts and Palace Kitchen and a few + from 5 Point Cafe.

You'll thank me.

Just stayed here for 4 nights on a trip from Boston.  Perfect location - 10 minute walk to the Space Needle, 10 minute walk to Pike Place and there are DOZENS of delicious restaurants in any direction.  The light rail is an easy walk and there are buses close too. Very clean and modern, but not too modern that you are sitting on a triangle or anything.

The staff is friendly and responsive; they even left a message in our room asking if everything was ok.

The only glitch is with the hotel shuttle.  You need to arrange a pick up quite a bit in advance.  There is not a good communication system between the hotels and driver so if you have to be some place be sure that you arrange ahead of time.  Also, it was quite a hassle to arrange a ride to the ferry terminal.  It is listed as a stop on the website and I had to show the front desk staff that it was listed (even though she told me twice that it was not a stop).  This service definitely needs some attention by the hotels to ensure efficiency.

This is a nice boutique hotel in a great location. The staff was friendly and the bikes to borrow were super convenient. My gripe with this hotel might seem petty but here it is. I was traveling alone and had a room with a single (very comfortable) queen bed. The only mirror in the room was the mirror over the sink (being short, I could only view myself from about the shoulders up). The wall next to the bed was completely void of any decorations so it would seem logical to have a mirror on that wall. What hotel has no full length mirror? I inquired with the front desk about the possibility of getting a mirror in my room, and, at first, this seemed to be a reasonably easy request. However, it was not to be. No mirrors were "available". It would have been a very easy "customer service" move to go to home depot or other like store and pick up a full length mirror for temporary use.
And, with Seattle, as a coffee loving town, the hotel should consider providing complementary coffee in the lobby...just sayin'

I would definitely stay here again!

Dan allowed us to check in early (very accommodating and much appreciated) and this boutique hotel was a welcome change from having been in 3 different but very similar Marriott hotels. The Hotel 5 is cool and the decor is modern. For 3 nights plus parking the bill was around $500, which makes this place hard to beat. The parking lot is a little tight, keep your SUV at home. Note: Our room did not have a bath tub just a shower stall. Also, K cup machine was nice but I suspect the smokers got to me on a couple of occasions, for some reason I kept on having cough attacks at around 2 a.m. Also, if you have allergies, keep in mind that pets are allowed. As for the location, this place was right across the street from Top Pot Donuts and practically in between Space Needle and Public Market. So we walked everywhere. The treadmills were fine but made me miss my Life Fitness. OK, enough whining like Cobain, I give this place 4 stars.

We booked our 4 night stay at Hotel 5 and in the spirit of being honest, we were a little skeptical when we arrived.  The parking structure was small and hard to get in and out of, the place was small and when you're used to staying at 4-5 star hotels, this was anything but.  ...Or so we thought.  We were pleasantly surprised at how nice, quaint and easily accessible everything was.  There was never a long wait for the elevator, the front desk attendant was quick to give us recommendations to places to go and things to eat.  They had complimentary bike rentals (that we didn't take advantage of because it was 30 degrees!), the rooms were cozy and the beds were remarkably comfortable.  The hotel had everything we needed, was in a great location to Pike Place Market and dozens of restaurants and night life and even close to the Space Needle, Museum and other fun attractions.  Oh... and their hotel restaurant was yummy!

Oh my god those pillows. I need them.

Nicely designed room, clean and modern. We had a room overlooking the monorail which I was concerned about noise but we could barely hear anything as it passed. It actually was a nicer view since it was facing west and the monorail was entertaining. The beds are beyond comfortable, I didn't want to leave. Brand new flatscreen TVs with amazing picture quality. Bathrooms were modern and clean with great design.

All and all an amazing deal for the price! With all the extras, free water, wi-fi, bikes etc it can even beat out some of the (pricier) competition down the road. Only slight downside is the thin walls/doors straight into the hallway. Depending on your neighbors I could see how it could be an issue. We couldn't hear anyone talking but if someone sneezed or slammed their door we could hear it. It definitely wasn't an issue for us at all and we slept like babies in those heavenly beds.

I usually stay at Hilton or Marriott Hotels but my wife saw this jazzy looking place online and wanted to give it a shot. NOT DISSAPOINTED!! This place had all that the top Hotels have and some. Great staff, jazzy atmosphere, they even had a cool complementary umbrella in the room for use and bike to use in the lobby. Nice to see a small hotel competing, and winning, with the big chain Hotels!

Location was ideal!! Spend 3 days in Seattle sightseeing and most sites were walking distance from the hotel.

This hotel is colorful and I love the location! It's halfway between Downtown Seattle and the Space Needle and the area around it has a neighborhood feel to it. There are a lot of places within a short walking distance to eat and it's a 10-15 minute walk to both Downtown Seattle/Pikes Market Place and the Space Needle area. There were mini cupcakes and coffee every day in the lobby in the afternoon and you can take a bicycle out (if it's not raining) for free. They also leave an umbrella in your room that you can use. The only negative is that we had a leaky bathroom so that was kind of a pain. I would still recommend this place and hopefully you don't get a leaky bathroom.

After checking into my room it was tiny definitely not  a king bed
Went to the front desk they blamed it in priceline and did not have any king rooms
I ended up with a room with two double beds with a parking lot view they said they would comp my parking But they didn't ..I checked in at 4 I find it hard to believe no king view  rooms I hate hotels giving priceline customers 2nd rate service!

What a great hotel! My girlfriend and I recently stayed here during a short vacation in Seattle and we had a fantastic experience. The front desk staff is about as friendly as i've ever experienced. They took time to answer all of our questions about the area and even gave us some great dinning recommendations. The room isn't anything fancy, but it's clean and comfortable. They give you free bottles of water, which doesn't sound like much but it's really a nice touch on their part.

We ate breakfast in the cafe twice and had a good experience both times. The food is good and prices are reasonable. One of the best parts about this hotel is the free bike rentals. It's a really cool option when you want to get out and explore the city.

If given the chance we would definitely stay here again. The only negative is the WiFi, which is noted by many reviewers. However, it is free so my expectations were pretty low, and we weren't in the room much so we didn't have a use for it. If you're staying here on business it might be an issue, but if you're not, put away the laptop, grab a bike and explore the city! The hotel is so close to many of the major attractions (Pike's Market, Space Needle, GREAT restaurants, etc.) there's no excuse to be sitting in your room complaining about the WiFi.

Cute little boutique hotel in the middle of Belltown. Close to everything and the monorail runs right past your window if you are on the left side of the building. I got this hotel through hotwire. I was a little suspicious at first, but I really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is only five floors and each room comes with a queen which is their standard bed size. There is a Keuring machine is every room which is great and there are free tea and coffee K-cups.

The bathroom is a decent size and they were dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body/bath gel. Something that I want in my own shower.  The rooms are very clean and the housekeeping staff is very nice and cleans the rooms at the same time, so you can guess when they are cleaning and arrange your activities around that.

The hotel also has a cafe. Like most hotel restaurants, it is overpriced, but you do get a decent amount of food for the price. I felt like the eggs were a tad greasy though. They only serve breakfast and lunch which is disappointing.

Like the other yelpers said, the walls are thin. I heard the neighbors' kids screaming to the point that I was close to calling the front desk. However, they were the only people I heard. Parking is good and is $15/night which is decent considering the parking rates are comparable to DC's and other hotels were charging $25 per night. Seattle Times papers are free, water is free, and there is basic cable. Not too shabby. The hotel also just completed renovations. I would stay here again. The hotel runs promotions so check those out before booking. Very popular hotel in Belltown.

It's modern, although it's a bit overdone in black and red. The rooms were nice and big, as well as the bathrooms.

My only complaint and reason it's not 5 stars, the beds are rock hard. I woke up every morning with back pain from their mattresses.

I'm very split on how I feel about my stay at Hotel Five, so I'll split it up by pros and cons.

Pros: Good price, modern look and feel, friendly and helpful staff, great location. Cheap parking. Free wifi. Free coffee and mini cupcakes in the lobby.

Cons: Smallish room, small bathroom, smallish bed. TV didn't work properly and remote needed several sets of batteries and several trips downstairs to replace. Internet, though free, was slow/unresponsive at times. Check-in was a little confusing- room wasn't ready, bags were put aside but not brought up when we returned. No mini-fridge. No ice machine, though they do stock Ziplocs of ice by the vending machine.

Major cons: Noise. Major noise issues. Even with a room away from the street, there is a ton of sound leak both outside and in. I have no complaints that there was construction going on nearby (not the hotel's fault), but there's no way it should have sounded that loud from the distance we were at. Additionally, because the rooms are all done in hard flooring (parquet and tile), there is major noise all the time- no muffling from carpet as in other hotels. Because of this, not only could I hear everything from within every corner of the room. but I could hear sound from every room in the hall and even to the elevator. There are just no soft surfaces to absorb noise.

Additionally, there's very little ventilation in the room (or at least the one we were in) so even though the thermostat was great for controlling the temperature, it constantly felt stuffy and a little 'off' in the room. We kept leaving the tiny window in the bathroom open for some air flow.

So why the 3 stars and not lower? Well, one star for great location, one star for great price, one star for friendly staff. That goes a long way with me, but I would think twice about staying here again.

I was pleased with everything about Hotel 5 from the booking. For the moderate pricing of this hotel, I received the works. From Seattle airport, I took the light rail ($2.50) to the Westlake station. It drops you off about 3 blocks from Hotel 5.  Walking past the Kings Inn, the sight of Hotel 5 is a breath of fresh air. Even the outside very well maintained. You walk into a modern, clean lobby, with a set of bikes to your right (complimentary to guests). The front desk workers are polite with local knowledge of whatever your interests are. Past the front desk is the hotel cafe with $$ pricing. I did not eat there, but the menu looks OK.   Check in is a breeze.

The room itself is simple, modern, and comfortable. I do not doubt the cleanliness of the room, as mine was immaculate. Nothing about it says dingy. Although the monorail passed by every ten minutes outside of the window, the room is sound proof. The walls are concrete; didn't hear any of the neighbors through the wall. 10 minutes after we entered the room the front desk called to make sure we were pleased with the room... We very much were.

Extra towels are easy to request. The room comes with an umbrella (crucial in Seattle).  The soap, shampoo, and conditioner in the shower is quality and abundant (stocked in dispensers).  The toilet flushes nice. The bedding comfortable. The heat and air work. The tv is moderate size and comes with basic cable. And the room comes with a kureg machine to make easy coffee; although why would you make coffee when Seattle has the best coffee in their many coffee shops.

Finally, the last night we stayed, we noted a message on the answering machine. The message stated that a package was waiting for us and to call the front desk. We called and they quickly delivered a tray containing two glasses, a bottle of champagne, and a thank you for staying note!

Overall, great experience, great hotel, very clean, and excellent customer service. It is located walking distance to the Pike Place Market and public transport is easily accessible from the hotel... I highly recommend Hotel 5 to young professionals, business travelers, couples, and adventurers. May not be the best family hotel. Did I mention that check out time is 12 (that extra hour is crucial, and when I sat down to write this review).  Thank you Hotel 5, my Seattle experience was that much better due to your delightful accommodations.

Great location - nice rooms, easy parking and fun views of the monorail. Room was clean and pleasant and the staff downstairs was really helpful. Word of advice - check their website for better booking options, they had a buy 2 nights / get one free that I missed out on because I didn't see it until I had already checked in. Overall, from someone who travels regularly - I would definitely stay here again, rates were very reasonable!

Had a very pleasant stay here! Not a "luxury" hotel, but definitely a step up from your standard Travelodge/Best Western experience -- more unique/less cookie cutter, and pretty comparably priced, if not slightly cheaper. (They run good specials on their website, too, if you book ahead.)

Our second-floor room was not gigantic, as noted in other reviews, but it was plenty big for the two of us, and the bed (which was comfy, with nice fluffy pillows), chair, etc. fit comfortably in the space. The bathroom had a shower only, no tub, but all the fixtures were new and modern. Everything was very clean, with hardwood floors instead of grubby carpet.

The room had some nice features: in-room Keurig coffee maker with various coffee options, an ionic hair dryer, little soap/shampoo/lotion dispensers mounted by the sink and in the shower, a fairly big TV with all your favorite cable channels, complementary bottled water. The "modern" art based on the "5" motif was a little much, but hardly a dealbreaker.

Being a super nerd for weird modes of transportation, I also really liked looking out our window and seeing the Monorail go by. And the place was quiet -- we never heard anyone else, day or night.

There's not a whole lot going on directly around the hotel, but the location is nice for doing the tourist thing in Seattle: You're a short walk to attractions like Seattle Center/Space Needle, Pike's Place Market, the whole waterfront, and the piers where the ferries and water taxis depart. A longer walk gets you to lots of neighborhoods, like Queen Anne, Capitol Hill, Pike/Pine, Pioneer Square, and downtown, where you can catch a bus or train to anywhere else you'd want to go. It's an easy walk from where the LINK drops you off from the airport, too.

A less-advertised but major feature is that Top Pot Doughnuts is less than a block away, which proved to be awesome and dangerous for us.

I will probably do the apartment-rental thing the next time I visit Seattle, just to be in a neighborhood with more going on -- but this is a great home base for a first trip to Seattle, and I was glad we found it!

This hotel is exactly what I want in a moderately priced, boutique-y accommodation, especially as I was traveling for a conference. It is about a 15 minute walk from the Washington State Convention Center. That said, if you want a hotel with desk staff and a concierge who fall all over themselves to help you, you may not enjoy the hands-off attitude. I like coming in, getting my room, not having to chit-chat with anyone, not having to surrender my bags to a bellhop, and being allowed to make my own way to my space.

The value is excellent, especially if you can take advantage of the third night free offer. Yes, the base price is higher than doing a straight room cost, but if you are only staying three or four nights, then you are still saving $$. They also constantly have specials going on.

There are many nice touches: the coffee, the bikes, the umbrella waiting in your room for the (many) rainy days. The shower is large and beautiful, and I really love the eco-friendly wall-mounted toiletries. I always feel bad if I open but am unable to use all of those little bottles hotels give you. The beds are comfortable, and noise is limited to those people wandering through the hallways. I didn't find it bothersome. And Top Pot is basically next door.

My biggest complaints (and they are little) is that the TV remote sucked and the Tommy Bahama Coral bath products are SO strongly scented. They smell nice, but using the shampoo, conditioner and body wash all together could make you faint.

Hotel Five was running a promotional through TripAdvisor so I was able to book our stay for, what I believe, was very reasonable considering the location.  Five blocks from the Seattle Center and a decent walking distance to Pike Place and the Waterfront although they also offer complimentary shuttle and complimentary bikes.  One block from the Assembly Hall market and Dimitriou's Jazz Alley.  Across the street from the Seattle Glassblowing Studio (we watched a class in session).

My husband and I had a late arrival and we were warmly greeted and check-in was fast.  The room is exactly as it appears in the pictures on their website and our room was very clean with all the amenities we were expecting.

Bedroom:
-We stayed in a single queen with a view of the city.  We were not on the Space Needle side of the building but at least we weren't facing the monorail.  This is an option when you book so just keep that in mind.

-I wouldn't say the walls are paper thin but you can hear other guests if they are talking loud and as they move through the hallway so we kept the fan running all night to drown out the noise.  It also helped with the muggy feeling in the room.

-The bed was very uncomfortable.  The mattress was too firm for us and the pillows gave no support.  There are two types of pillows - soft and firm - but the firm was too firm and the soft was like laying my head on a towel and the sheets were very stiff so we did not sleep comfortably.

-The walls are grey (including the bathroom) with the exception of one wall that is red.  It gave an overall gloomy feel to the room even in the morning when the sun was shining through.  When on vacation, I want to wake up happy!  :)

-Keurig k-cup coffee maker with regular, decaf and tea.  Two bottles of water, two mugs and two glasses.

-Do not expect a book that outlines hotel information or surrounding attractions.  I did receive an email with a q-code and link to look up this information.

Bathroom:
-Bathroom is equipped with wall mounted dispensers of soap and hand lotion.  The shower has wall mounted shampoo, conditioner and body wash, which we liked (so if you're the type that likes to pack away travel sized items from hotels, do not expect that here).  I didn't care for the smell of the products - Tommy Bahama Exotic Coral.  I felt like I was showering or washing my hands in Captain Morgan's Parrot Bay although I did like how awesome my hair felt and looked afterwards.

-Not enough towel hooks for two people.  Does have a safe, iron and ironing board and hair dryer.

The stay overall was nice and the front desk staff was very friendly.  Although we didn't inquire much about the city and things to do, we overheard them talking with guests and they seemed very helpful.  When we left, we had asked if the complimentary shuttle could take us to the train station, which they happily reserved for us, but then failed to mention that there was a cost involved.  We found this out the morning we left but probably because it's not a normal stop for the shuttle (??).

Hope this review helps some of you!

Stayed here for a little weekend trip with the boyfriend and we really loved this hotel! It is visually amazing, super modern, and fun. The staff were very pleasant and the free coffee and yummy cupcakes in the lobby is a nice plus.

As others stated, the walls are a little thin and we could hear people walking down the hall and above you, but we weren't bothered that much. We stayed in a standard queen bed room, and it was pretty spacious and had a nice shower, cozy bed, and was very clean.

One of the biggest reasons we stayed here is the location to downtown and most Seattle attractions. We walked everywhere this trip and made it to the places we wanted to see within 15-20 min walking. We took a cab a few times to dinner etc., which was only about a $10 trip and totally worth it on chilly nights.

We would definitely stay at Hotel 5 again when we come back to Seattle. We are bummed we didn't get a chance to use their super cute beach cruiser bikes they have for guests, but next time for sure!

Stay here, you won't be disappointed :)

I was not surprised with my vacation to Seattle, but I was very surprised with my stay at Hotel Five. The hotel has just recently been remodeled and everything is brand new. The room I stayed in was very clean, spacious, hardwood floors, included an: Keurig coffee maker with 6 coffee packs, new flat screen tv. In the nice bathroom there is strong shower pressure, Tommy Bahama soup, lotion, conditioner, shampoo, and body wash. Only paid $76 for one night Christmas weekend= great deal.

The hotel is in a great location. Quiet neighborhood, 8 blocks from the Space Needle, 7 blocks from Pikes Place, 6 blocks the center of the downtown which includes the Westlake station of the Link train that takes you all the way to the Airport for only $2.50.

This hotel is definitely legit. If you want a clean, new, modern hotel for an inexpensive price in downtown Seattle this is the place.

Looking forward to visiting Seattle again soon.  Would definitely recommend Hotel 5. We arrived around 9am and knew our rooms would not be available.  The staff took our luggage, provided a map of the city and some great restaurant ideas and sent us on our way.  The room was comfortable and very modern.

This place is great. My partner and I very much enjoyed our multiple night stay.  The front desk service is super nice and helpful.  If Riley is on duty, he's the go-to-guy!  Props and thanks to him at the front desk for all the assistance and friendly disposition.

The room was spacious and decorated well.  Check out the posted photos...that's what you're getting.  It was sort of fun looking around the room and lobby for the over use of things grouped in 5.  While there are five lights hanging together in the lobby, there were only FOUR lamps in our room. But, we survived.

The hotel is centrally located for great tourist attractions, this hotel also serves as a gateway to the not so touristy areas of Seattle.  The added bonus of a parking lot made coming and going much easier.

Note: there is a $15 a day fee to park...but totally worth it.

This hotel is great! We have traveled a lot and I have seen so much different places and I can say this hotel is really great! The stuff is so nice they give you directions on have to go anywhere in WA. almost every tickets you can buy on reception, breakfast is normal american waffles, syrup, milk, cereals, juice, water, coffee or tea really enough! Stuff is so nice you can ask them whatever you want and the great stuff that for example in other hotels is payable is that that checkout is until 12am but you can leave your baggage if you have for example late night flight and all that for free!!! You have 2 big screens to watch movies you want you just have to ask on reception and you get popcorns also! You can also play ping pong, chest, monopoly and many other games I mean hotel for that price is more then great!!! It is in center of downtown and in walking distance is bus, metro, market, coffee shops like Starbucks, parking I mean you have everything!!! I love everything here! Highly recommended!!

This hotel is cute in decor, it's very modern and very appealing to the eye. They have a parking garage for guests with a charge, though there's a limit in stalls. The staff was good to us upon arrival. We didn't ask for anything while on our stay here, our room was set up with enough.

The hotel location is perfect for venturing around downtown and its walking distance to all the tourist attractions (Pike's market, Seattle Center, Shopping District, etc..)

If every visiting Seattle again, this would be the first hotel on my list. Only downfall I'd say is that the walls are thin, so we could here people's conversations walking through the hall, doors slamming, and our neighbors tv. But other than that everything was good. For the location and price they offer, its worth the stay here.

I'm so forgetful with names, I can't remember the name of the girl who helped us during our stay. I want to say her name was Jasmine but my friend thinks her name was Kim.

Pluses:
Staff. The girl I mentioned above was super friendly and helpful. The other staff we encountered were also pleasant

Cleanliness. The hotel room was clean and eco-friendly. Definitely had a modern feel to it.

Location. This place is in a great location to walk to places to eat. It's less than a ten minute walk to Pike's Place.

Cons:
It's a bit noisy, they are going under construction right now. The walls are also a bit thin, but not that big of a deal.

Everything good you will read about HOTEL FIVE on Yelp is generally true. Good location and basically a good hotel.

That is, until you go to sleep.

The walls must be cardboard thin, because you can hear almost everything going outside your room. Trucks and motorcycles whizzing by on the street. The maid service cleaning other rooms in the morning, letting the doors slam as they move from room to room. The elevator down the hall. The alarm clock from THE ROOM NEXT DOOR that wakes you up at 6:30 AM (along with the room's crying baby).

And the bed was as hard as a rock.

Everything else about the hotel was great. The internet, the bikes, the room service, the parking, the location, the staff, the decor... yada yada. All great.

Just don't try to sleep in in the morning.

I'd say I give this 5 stars even though I stayed for half the night.

The place is right on 5th Ave... hence the name of the hotel. Right in the Downtown/Belltown area so it's convenient for shopping, food, drinks and touristy stuff.

Don't remember our room, but we had a view of some office buildings and the space needle was nice :)

Very modern and very clean. Eye catching and very spacey and overall neat. Bathroom doors aren't like normal ones. They slide.

Artwork on your wall, lobby was smaller than usual hotels, but very artsy. I think it puts a diff. vibe to the area, which I rly like.

Best bang for buck hotel in Seattle. So happy I followed my instinct and went with this place. I roomed here but also ate at the restaurant here as well. We did not rent a car; which was a good thing because the daily rate would not be worth it. Why you ask? Because everything is nearby, no need to drive, walk to pike place, seattle center, local restaurants, and nordstrom (its a little further than the other touristy places but walkable). This hotel is clean, wonderful service, friendly & helpful staff. They have a small fitness gym. I like the door security lock; remember your room card when you go out late or you will be locked out (a staff member may help), keeps the drunk wonderers out.

Compare to other hotels I checked out this one was the most modern, well-kept.

My only reason for a minus is because they do not carry bikes for travelers anymore; in the room there was an accommodation card that stated they have bikes for patrons. It was a let down when I asked at the front desk. Plus the view of the monorail is not all that attractive, but for half the price of all the other hotels it does not bother me as much.

I would stay here again; budget friendly, central to all touristy locations, nice staff.

Warning the restaurant seems like a two person run restaurant, so it gets pretty slow at times. Descent food & taste, just not good if you're in a rush, otherwise good.

Highly recommend! Find the best deals through a google search.

We spent our wedding anniversary here this week. We got the suite and it was fantastic. Tons of room. Cool urban decor. FABULOUS shower in the very modern bathroom. Our corner unit was very quiet. The staff was super. Parking was in a private underground garage. It's $16, but you can leave your vehicle there until 5:00 after checking out, so plenty more time to explore the area. But we forgot to get a cupcake! A small fridge would be nice for leftovers and wine.

Friendly staff that went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Comfortable, clean rooms and the location was perfect. Only negative was I paid for the room when I booked it a few months ago and they ran the entire 3 night stay again on my card after verifying upon check in that I was pre paid. I found out when we went out on the town and our card was declined. They said they released it, but it still has not been released and I have a mortgage to pay tomorrow, back to reality! I know things happen, this was unfortunate and I do hope it gets resolved ASAP. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay and will stay again.

Great place to stay in the downtown area. We found this place on HotelTonight, and were super pleased. The hotel had open rooms, so they checked us in early (at 10 am!) and then loaned us a pair of bicycles for free! It's a comfy 5 mile pedal up to Ballard and Freemont, and only moments to the cool bar scene in Belltown or just a little further to Pike's. 3 blocks to the light rail station as well. I will stay here again on my next trip!

Great hotel. Great price. The rooms are clean and modern/trendy. It's more of a boutique hotel. Every evening they have pineapple cupcakes and Starbucks coffee. They even have loaner bikes for you to use if you want. We didn't since we realized Seattle can be hill-y. If you check-in on yelp, they'll even give you a free luggage tag.

Oh ya... there's complementary bottled water in the rooms! and the location is good too. What more can you want? I'd recommend it to all my friends!

This is a small, hip hotel that is located close to many great areas.  For the price, it's unbeatable.  Expect modern, artsy rooms (read: small) with the amenities you need to crash after your night out in Seattle.  Don't expect to steal the shampoo - it's installed on the wall.

The staff was friendly and helpful.  Cupcakes in the lobby in the afternoon!  On-site parking at $15 per day (we thought) was decent.

The only drawbacks were that the windows didn't open and quarters were cramped.  We survived just fine.  Like I said, for the price and location, it's unbeatable.

I recently stayed here for one night, taking advantage of a special to save $20 off the room rate and complimentary parking, regularly $15 .
The other place I was considering, Hotel Max, had $33 valet parking.  Uh, no thanks!  Plus Hotel Five's check in/check out times offered me more time:  3pm/12pm vs 4pm/11 am.

PROS:
-Friendly front desk service.  Special call out to Andrew who checked me in and out the next day.
-FREE wi-fi
-FREE bicycles (I didn't use one though)
-great location close to major attractions.  Not  2 or 3 blocks away, but still walking distance and a lot to see along the way.
-Deluxe Queen Room is spacious and modern just like the photos on their website
-bathroom is a nice size
-powerful hair dryer
-full sized ironing board
-unlimited in/out self parking in onsite lot, both open and covered areas
-Car OK to stay in lot 'til 3pm day of check out
-Top Pot Donuts merely steps away for great donuts and coffee.  They gave me a free donut!

CONS
-The shower is a bit small.  I'm petite and felt a little closed-in.  Shower quality is good.
-My room was across from the elevators.  That combined with the acoustics of the hallway made for some very loud noise when people were out there.  Luckily this didn't happen often or I slept through it.
-There was a slight musty smell when I entered the room the first couple times.  It lasted about 30 seconds.  I didn't smell it later.

I would definitely recommend Hotel Five and stay here again.  They allowed me to check in early and check out late and leave me car in the lot 'til 4pm.

Hip hotel with modern furniture. Clean, safe, friendly staff with helpful restaurant suggestions, nice bathroom, and I like how you have to card into the hotel lobby in order to get in. smart how they have dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, body wash to save money & less waste. Convenient area and close to everything.

I don't like how there are no room toiletries (shower cap, sewing kit...bc I needed it this trip!!), that the bed is not stationary bc once I sat on the bed, it rolled!

Very fun and unique contemporary decor! The staff here were exceptional! Extremely nice and very helpful! Very hip and relaxed atmosphere! The free bike rental and restaurant downstairs for breakfast are nice. The location is great of you're going to tour downtown and the space needle because it's right in the middle of both. A little sketchy areas nearby after dark. Wish there was a mini fridge in the room. Bed was very comfy and the AC unit worked well and quick. Room size is pretty small which was fine for us! The keirig in the room is awesome!!! Loved it!!!! We came back to the room to watch the Washington and Oregon state game but they don't have the Pac 12 channel line up available. The wifi was in and out which was unfortunate :/ the hardwood floors are nice but may contribute to the noise level outside the room. I could hear everything outside the room door which made it a little hard to sleep. Overall though, it was a good stay and I'm still happy with the choice to stay. Booked on hotel.com for $184/nt plus tax ($215/nt after taxes) but the going rate for the area.

I love this hotel chain. We've stayed at the Maxwell Hotel after finding a great deal, and received a hotel for Hotel Five as we were planning our trip. You can get a clean, modern room with a super comfy bed downtown for $100, and they often have great check-in snacks in the lobby. Also, I've found the staff at all of their locations to be super friendly and helpful. And this one has complimentary bikes to borrow.

If you're coming from Seatac, it's a 5-block walk from the last subway stop, too.

Stayed here for about 3 1/2 days and I really enjoyed it. Such amazing decor, free pineapple cupcakes + coffee daily, very helpful and friendly staff, and Tommy Bahamas Exotic Coral bathroom supplies?

The only faults I would have for it is the parking (so tight spaces!) and the fact that it would sometimes take a while to get extra face towels for the bathroom.

Overall, had a great experience here and would highly recommend it!

I truly enjoyed my experience at Hotel 5. We were in Seattle for a wedding and booked this hotel as part of a flight package deal. Those deals are always hit or miss, but this time it worked out well.

At first, I found the hotel hilariously trendy, but it grew on me. The staff was absolutely fantastic. They were helpful with tips on things to do in the city and were very accommodating anytime we needed anything.

The room was very clean. It had hardwood floors and I really liked the layout of the bathroom. The bed was fairly comfortable and had both soft and firm pillows. I slept well every night I was there.

They had complimentary water bottles, coffee, and tea in the room which we certainly took advantage of.

Another thing I loved were the complimentary pineapple/coconut mini cupcakes! They were SO good! I thought it was a nice touch.

Lastly, I really appreciated the make-up towelettes in the bathroom for the ladies. I don't know if this is a regular thing at all hotels, but they were really helpful to me here. I also liked the shampoo/conditioner/body wash dispensers in the shower and the soap/lotion dispenser to the side of the sink.

Overall, I really enjoyed this hotel and will definitely stay here the next time we're in Seattle. It's in a convenient location just a few blocks away in either direction from the main attractions (Pike Place Market and the Space needle and the Chihuly museum/gardens).

I really loved my stay here. The bikes were an awesome addition and I loved biking around the city. It was right near a delicious donut shop and was a 2 minute bike ride to the space needle, and EMP.

I wasn't a huge fan of the slide door on the bathroom, but it was a tiny thing that is easily overlooked! It was also a good deal so STAY HERE if you get the chance! I would absolutely stay here again!

This hotel was exactly what I had hoped for.  I got a deal for NYE called "A Place to Crash After the Bash" where the room was a bit cheaper, we got free parking, two complimentary brunches with free-flowin' mimosas and late check out.  It was so perfect!

My room faced the Space Needle, so I got to enjoy the scene from a warm and comfy location!  I posted pictures with the view of the needle.  Was too rapt watching the fireworks to grab the camera.

The rooms are well appointed.  As mentioned on other reviews, the heating/cooling system is very responsive.  The design is edgy & modern.  The beds are divinely comfortable with very soft linens.  They do use Tommy Bahama bath products.  The Keurig coffee maker with tea, regular or decaf options was a pretty nice addition.

There was some sound as it was New Years', totally understandable.  I just put on some music on the ipod stereo to have some background noise.  This hotel isn't a luxury hotel, but is definitely clean, welcoming and fresh.

The only cons: no room service & no mini-fridge.  Those are the only suggestions I could make to improve the experience.  The brunch we had the next morning was amazing though!

Stayed at Hotel 5 for 4 days and loved it. The location was perfect! We were able to walk to good restaurants and bars. The space needle and Pike were about 5 blocks away each. No rental car needed. The room itself was very clean and modern. There were laminate floors and a very comfortable bed and pillows. It was a little noisy in the halls because the doors slam really hard when people come and go, but you kinda get used to it. The pineapple cupcakes were great. The shuttle was very convenient, and the staff was very friendly. We basically loved it there and would stay again!

Definitely one of the best hotels I've stayed at in ANY city! I picked it because of its great location (about a 7-minute walk to the Westlake center, 10 minutes to Pike Place), but it blew me away with its accommodations.

Rooms are spacious and clean. Staff was always super friendly/courteous... even when I spilled coffee off the bedside table (sorry guys!). WiFi was decently fast. Soap in the rooms is Tommy Bahama and smelled like heaven. They also have a lot of complimentary extras: coffeemaker with choice of decaf/black tea/regular coffee, a big sturdy umbrella, printing in the lobby, and FREE BIKE RENTALS. (I've never seen free bikes at any hotel before, hence the excitement.) Not to mention, free tasty mini-cupcakes in the afternoons!

Only two problems arose during my stay. First, even though the rooms are well-insulated from the outside (barely had to use the heater during 40-degree weather), it felt like I could hear everything in the hallway and the room above. Second, even though our room and the lobby smelled great at all times, the 4th-floor hallway reeked of cigarette smoke on multiple occasions. I'm an occasional smoker myself and usually not bothered by it, but this was downright pungent.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this place to anybody looking to visit Seattle. And should I ever need a place to crash in the 206, Hotel Five will probably be seeing more of me.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel itself has a lovely cafe. If that's a bit dear, there are more affordable places to eat just minutes away, and the staff will assist you in anything you need to know about. Hotel Five is an affordable hotel in a good location with a postmodern feel. Free rental bikes meant we could take a leisurely ride around Seattle streets. Stayed here for four nights between places after relocating from Australia. Enjoyed every day here.

The room itself is 3 stars at best.  Think of it as a high roller hostel.  They definitely make the most of the space and the bathroom is surprisingly large but let's not kid ourselves into thinking it's the Four Seasons or even the Westin down the street.

I booked this place because of the design, price and close proximity to everything downtown Seattle.  I gotta hand them the extra star for service, friendly staff,  good wi-fi, free computer downstairs with a printer AND free Starbucks coffee and mini-cupcakes that magically appear when you stumble into the lobby late at night.

The free luggage tag you get for checking in is pretty cool too!

DOG FRIENDLY, PEOPLE, DOG FRIENDLY.

In my book, that's a win.  b/c you know, I have two dogs that go everywhere with us.  They looooove the memory foam bed, and the fact that they have fancy bowls to eat and drink out of when we visit.

The hotel itself is super clean, oddly modern (and by oddly, I mean it kind of reminds me of a Nagel painting from back in the day), the staff is very friendly, the rooms are clean, they have nice smelling soaps/lotions, free wifi, CABLE TV (!), and very.  Comfy.  Beds.

The only pitfall is that it's in a pretty busy part of downtown/5th, so sometimes you have to play frogger to cross the street...even when the light is saying go.

Otherwise, GREAT hotel.  I'd stay there again!

This hotel is very conveniently located.  Walking distance to almost any sight in downtown Seattle.  However...this is the loudest hotel I have ever stayed in.  All the hard surfaces  make it very noisy.  We heard people walking above us, people in the next room talking and other things and noises from outside.  I guess the earplugs that were available on the nightstands should have been an indication.  The staff was attentive and were prompt to accommodate us.  I do not recommend this hotel due to the noise.  I pay for the restfulness of a hotel, this was far from that.

Wow! What a great little hotel! We took a chance and decided to stay here based on the rave reviews of this place. I was a little hesitant to choose it, since it seemed rather new and smaller compared to the other hotel chains in the area, but with the appealing photos of the overall space and the affordable price, I decided to bite the bullet and try it out...and it didn't disappoint! Overall, we were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed our stay here. The location is fantastic...walking distance to a lot of the big sites and no shortage in the immediate area of great spots to grab something to eat/drink.

First off, we really loved the style of the decor...really artistic, modern and fun. The room we stayed in was a good size for myself and husband and we found it to be clean and very comfortable. We stayed on the monorail side...and didn't really notice any noise issues with it going by. The heater provided in the room was rather loud, though. It worked well for it's purpose but if we had to complain about one thing, that would be it. One thing that made up for the heater noise is the free bottles of water in the room! That is something we always look for in a hotel room and we loved that small, but still very convenient feature.

The service of the staff was friendly and helpful. There was always a friendly person at the front desk. There is parking provided at $15/day and there were plenty of spots, so we had no issues finding a place to park. The wifi is also free and we found it to work pretty well.

Just when we thought this place couldn't get much better, we found that the hotel keeps a bunch of bikes there for guests to use for free! Just checkout a bike at the front desk, grab a helmet and you're on your way. The brakes on the bikes could use a little work since we had a few scares coming down some hills, but still...a great way to explore the city when the weather permits.

Overall, we found that we loved our stay here and wouldn't hesitate to choose Hotel Five again when we return to the area.

Loved the hotel but what is up with the shower curtain? I thought shower curtains is suppose to prevent water from coming out during showers but these were short ones flowing above the tub.. So all the water that hit the curtain went straight to the floor... Kinda dumb eh? Guess they didn't think that one through.. Or maybe not enough budget?? This hotel is perfect for visitors. It's walking distance to a lot of nice restaurants such as palace kitchen, serious pie, pacific mall (8 minutes walk), space needle (10 minutes walk) & pike place (15 minutes)

I was lucky to get the online deal of booking 2 nights and getting the 3rd night free.

It was definitely a pleasant place to stay. front desk staff were all very helpful.

The front desk staff even called to check up once we settled into the room to make sure everything was to our pleasing.

The one incident I had was I heard a dog barking down the hallway from my room, and as it was going on for an hour, I kindly called front desk and asked if there was anything they could do.  They offered to move me to another room immediately! That was wonderful customer service. The hotel is pet friendly, which I don't mind, except that dog was barking for a really long time.

Overall this hotel deserves 5 stars++.
Free wifi, free umbrella to use in the rooms and free water bottles in the rooms are a bonus!

Will definitely stay here again! And recommend to others!

We spent two night's at Hotel Five, during our 13 day trip visiting the PNW.  This location is perfectly set in the middle of town.  It was a easy walk to Pikes Place Market, The Space Needle, The Water Front, Pioneer Square and the Ferries.  The hotel does provide a complimentary shuttle (check at desk).  There is a cafe next to the lobby, several restaurants within walking distance and a Top Pot Doughnut shop.  There is also complimentary coffee and pineapple cupcakes in the lobby.  Don't forget you can check out a bicycle for a fun ride around town.  We had a King size bed with a great view of the Monorail and Trees outdoors. The Monorail runs from Westlake Mall (5th/Pine) to the Space Center (Space Needle/EMP Museum).  Its tracks run right in front of the hotel and can be seen passing quietly by.  Highly recommend dinner at the Sky City restaurant.  It is within the Space Needle and dinning includes your ticket for the observation platform.  Hotel Parking is limited, but reasonably priced ($15.00).  We left the rental car parked during our stay and walked to the nearby attractions.  Staff was very helpful and friendly.  We will be staying at this location on our next visit.

This is a fantastic hotel. They're very professional, polite and accommodating. Free shuttle, pineapple cupcakes when you need the pick me up. They never hesitated to assist us. Our cab was paid for when the shuttle was too full. The shuttle driver drove us to Capital Hill when we were the only ones on the shuttle. Someone came right up when I couldn't figure out where to plug the coffee maker in. I could go on and on. Look at the pictures and read the rave reviews. That is Hotel Five.

First time visiting Seattle, I had no idea where to stay. Decided to book Hotel Five because it looked so modern inside. The location was super convenient. Took the light rail from the airport + 10 min walk to the hotel. Even though they offered free shuttles (to main attractions) and bicycles, which was super nice, I didn't need any of those and explored everything I wanted to see by foot. The room was so modern and clean. I just wish it didn't face the light rail (and a small group of homeless people across the street).
I loved the fact that they had free cupcakes and coffee after 3pm, what a nice touch!
I had a great time in Seattle and want to come back. Hotel Five will always be my choice.

We found this hotel after browsing around for something near public transportation. Unfortunately, the monorail doesn't really go anywhere, but regardless, the location is prime for getting around in Seattle. By staying here, you are a 20 minute walk from the Public Market, the Space Needle, and a bunch of other cool stuff.

The rooms are a really nice size and the beds are comfortable enough for a great night's sleep. The staff have all been great.

Bikes are even available from sun up to sun down for riding throughout Seattle.

This is a great value hotel. My husband and I spent 2 nights. Our room was very clean and the staff was more than helpful. The smaller amenities really enhanced our stay as well. Free bike rentals, an umbrella in each room,  a Keurig with name brand coffee and tea options in each room, free bottles of water, etc. The hotel is in a good location that is close to all of the main tourist attraction. They also have a free shuttle for those who do not or are not able to walk. There are also some good coffee and meals options close by. There is one great coffee shop literally across the street. You can't miss it. Parking is secure and only $15 per day (this is the cheapest that we were able to find in the city center). We will definitely return on our next trip. Only downside is that the tram is right outside. Our hotel faced the tram and we could hear the tram periodically. But it really wasn't that bad.

We stayed here for one night while visiting Seattle.  We got here pretty late due to our flight having been delayed by like 4-5 hours, so we didn't actually arrive until around midnight.  The guy at the front desk was very friendly and helpful.  He quickly checked us in and gave us our room key.  He also was able to recommend a local restaurant for us to grab a bite to eat which was within walking distance.  The decor of the room was very trendy and had a neat vibe.  The shower had 3 heads, so it felt like heaven.  We were supposed to get a room with 2 queen beds...but instead we got a room with one king bed and a pull out couch.  We rolled with it, because we were traveling all day and didn't feel like asking any questions about what happened to the room we actually booked.  However, the pull out couch was decently comfortable.  We weren't here long enough to partake, but they had many nice extras here - bike rentals, umbrellas to borrow in case they are needed, and a cupcake happy hour (so sad to have missed that)!

Pretty good place to eat. I got the French toast and it was truly delicious! The only thing I isn't like was the wait time to get the food. It wasn't extremely long where I would've left, but it was trying my patience. I would come back though cuz the fruit on my French toast was fresh and delicious!

I'm so torn about this hotel. It's a pretty good value for an updated, modern hotel in a very key and convenient area of downtown Seattle. It's walking distance to almost everything! The room and hotel decor in general is very appealing, they rent out bikes for free, free internet, free water bottles and Keurig coffees in every room, and parking is only $15/night (great value considering how expensive public parking is in downtown Seattle). Everything sounds great right? And they were, but there are a few glaring issues that every potential guest of this hotel should be aware of before deciding to book here.

- Walls are paper thin. I kept waking up in the middle of the night and could not sleep in during the morning bc I kept hearing the sounds of doors slamming, neighboring rooms' phone conversations, and the maid cleaning not our room but our neighbor's room! Yeah, to a sleepy cranky person the sound was literally that loud and that close.
- The daytime staff is more attentive than the nighttime crew. My friends and I walked back to the hotel a little past midnight only to see a man watching porn on the guest computer in the lobby. OMG, I was embarrassed for him! He turned around to look at us once he realized we had walked into the hotel, but I couldn't even look him in the eye! We quickly pushed the elevator button and finally let out a huge laugh once the elevator doors closed. LOL

This hotel isn't 5 stars and the walls are pretty thin. But it's a great value in a very prime location. If you decide to stay here, just bring a pair of ear plugs and make sure not to walk back to the hotel too late at night. :)

A friend and I recently booked this hotel as part of a package when we bought train tickets through Amtrak.  We picked it because it seemed pretty well located to the Space Needle and Pike Place Market areas and we could walk.  The pictures online made it look really nice, but we were in for a treat when we walked in and not only did it look exactly like the pics, but better.  We were not only greeted by the desk personel each time we came or went, but there was always another employee wearing a Santa hat that came out and greeted us as well.  Whenever we had questions of what to do or to each they were always ready with several suggestions.  One morning, the shuttle was full and they called and paid for our cab.  I was totally stunned, that was awesome!!!  The cafe they have onsite has great food that won't break the bank, you can rent really nice bikes for free as well.  The little tiny cupcakes are cute and delicious.  Really, hands down, this was the best service I've received at a hotel.  The beds were comfy and the decor was nice as well.  The pergo (sp?) floors in the room was a nice touch.  I'll definitely stay here again.

Just got back from a trip to Seattle to visit family for Christmas. We'd done the "stay over" thing before, and it wasn't feasible now that the Sis and BiL have a 1-bedroom. Looking around for places within walking distance and affordable, this was the best compromise we could find. We could have gotten closer, or cheaper, but not both. Turns out, it was the best decision!

Our plane landed at SEA-TAC around 11:30 and we were at the hotel, hoping to leave our bags so we could get lunch with my sister before check-in at 3, but they had our room ready. The lobby was very comfortable, lots of seating and workspace for those that may need it. There was a cafe on site for breakfasts and lunches. The holiday decorations were gorgeous. They had free cruiser bikes to borrow, but neither myself nor my mom were into it on the cold & wet streets.

The room was lovely. The beds were very comfortable and there were a lot of accessible plugs for charging accessories. There was an in-room safe for a sense of security when leaving my laptop and kindle for the day. The shower and toiletries were perfect. They even had an in-room umbrella to borrow "because sometimes it rains in Seattle."

Did I mention it is literally steps away from Top Pot? Centrally located, minutes walk from just about everything. It was a lovely stay, and I will definitely be back any time I'm in Seattle!!

What a great place. My wife and I enjoyed every bit of this stay. Concierge was knowledgeable, price was very good, centrally located and the lobby-cafe was one of our best breakfasts of our week-long road trip.

Room was very comfortable and very carefully decorated, the view of the city was nice and we were in walking distance of everything we wanted to see.

The concierge was able to book us a car to the airport and was happy to help some visiting friends of ours get a car back to their hotel. We will stay here again. A rare 5 star hotel review from us.

We got a decent deal on this hotel staying at its sister hotel in Portland.  The deal came with free use of bikes. We did not feel comfortable on bikes, but they were cute to see in the lobby.  We arrived a bit early and were able to get into our room. Great! The room was decently sized and had everything we needed. I loved the free Keurig coffee in room. The bathroom situation in this hotel is much better than the hotel in Portland; the shower has a door which helps keep the water in the shower. I did like the Tommy Bahama bath products and the makeup remover. This hotel was a great location and we walked to everything.  The lobby is very fun and inviting and the room décor is super cute, kind of like a posh college dorm. We had to pay an extra $15 for parking but we were able to go in and out throughout our stay. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

The bad stuff first: The walls here are incredibly thin. I can listen to our neighbor watching the news and I'm across the room from the wall we share. When the cleaning lady was knocking on our neighbor's door, I thought it was ours, until she entered the room and realized she was in the next one. However, during the night, I heard nary a peep from anyone or anything. I slept like a log.

Everything else: The decor is manly modern - think a great place to have a bachelor party, but not like a strip club kind of bachelor party because it's not really a sexy place. Unless you make it one.

We got a queen room and while it was small, it fit the two of us quite perfectly. The floors are hardwood! Whaaat? I've never seen a hotel with hardwood floors. It was awesome. The entire room was spotless, including the bathroom. They use Tommy Bahama washes, shampoos and conditioners - fancy! And while we didn't get to use them, I love that the hotel rents out bicycles for free and also has free shuttles to popular points of interest around Seattle.

Other info: $15 overnight parking, complimentary coffee and water in the room as well as free Starbucks and cupcakes in the lobby.

Overall a fun place to stay and I would recommend this place to my friends, though I'd be wary if you're super sensitive to noise.

I really enjoyed my stay here! The location was pretty central to all of my destination points when I visited Seattle. At $100/night (we booked via an online travel site), I think this was a pretty good steal for quality and location! We were a 20 minute walk from Chihuly and the Space Needle, and another 15 minute walk from Pike's! They do offer complimentary bikes for visitors, but I didn't find that I needed it. (And the bikes are a little dweeby....)

The hotel and room decor is modern, clean and colorful. The room accommodations are nothing to rave about, but everything you need is there.

The hotel staff was great and friendly for the most part. My only gripe is the woman that helped me check in on the first day. I called previously to see if the hotel would hold our luggage since we would arrive in Seattle around 11am but check-in usually isn't until 3 or 4pm (which they do, by the way). I was told to call in the morning of my reservation to see if my room might be available for early check-in, and it was! When I arrived at the hotel, I told the lady at the front desk that I was here for early check-in, and she rudely told me that "Oh, check-in isn't until 4" without even asking for my name or reservation. I informed her of the situation, and she then became a tad friendlier. But thank you to the other friendly front desk people who microwaved my pastry from Macrina's and helped quiet our loud neighbors at 2am.

I will definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family or anyone who plans to visit Seattle! (:

Hotel Five was a neat hotel. The people at the front desk are friendly and very helpful. The location of the hotel is second to none. It is perfect!! Right in between the Space Needle and Pike Place Market. About a 5-7 minute walk to each place. Incredible placement. The rooms could use updated TV's or a fridge and microwave, but otherwise it's a very nice, comfortable place. Also, take advantage of their stay 2 nights and get the 3rd night free promotion. It's on their website. Bravo, Hotel Five.

Well let's start with the things I loved about the place. The guy Aaron at the front desk was helpful and so friendly he made my stay at hotel five amazing!! Also the location is amazing. It's far enough away from all the other hotels but still close enough to enjoy downtown and the nightlife .

The things I hated about hotel five. When we first arrived we noticed that the door to the bathroom was actually a slide door so left little to no privacy. Then when we woke up at 6 am while getting ready we had a knock at the door. The night attendant came to tell us to not make so much noise. Which I found crazy because I was awaken at 2 am from ppl coming back from a party. Needless to say it ruined my experience hence the not so high star rating. And the delivery options sucked made staying in the hotel boring at night.

While I loved the fact that the hotel had personality  there were certain things I missed from the standard hotel.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights last week during our first trip to Seattle, and I have to say I am quite pleased that we did.

It's boutique-ish: with sleek, modern furniture and bold color choices and urban decor. The rooms are equipped with hardwood floors, a Keurig with complimentary coffee as well as water bottles, and my favorite: the Tommy Bahamas soap/shampoo/bodywash/lotion dispensers in the bathroom - so cute and convenient, plus exotic coral smells so refreshing. It was a nice touch to feeling more at home.

In addition, the lobby offers complimentary Starbucks coffee, along with free mini pineapple cupcakes (though these seemed to get gobbled up quickly I noticed). They were a nice little snack to grab on the way out before exploring the city. The hotel also offers complimentary bike rentals, but we preferred to walk.

Which brings me to my next PRO: everything was walking distance from this hotel - the Space Needle/Chihuly Garden and Glass, Pike Market Place and The Great Wheel. It was definitely cool to have such a convenient, central location. We even walked here from the airport via the link light rail train. Whenever we got lost, we'd just follow the monorail track to help guide us back.

One CON I must emphasize is the thinness of the walls. You can hear everything - doors opening and slamming, the housekeeping, your neighbor's television on the nightly news. If you have wailing, colicky babies or plans to get sexy intimate with your significant other, forget it. Everyone will hear you. There's no auditory privacy. Also side note: it was weird, but the elevators always smelled different each time we used them, whether it be a little greenery or some heavy perfume.

Overall though, we had enjoyed our stay. Nice little contemporary hotel that's affordable and walking distance to everything.

First off, I want to talk about the hotel that my boyfriend and I stayed at during our 8 days, 7 nights getaway. We were stuck between two hotels: Hotel Five and Red Lion. The reason why we chose Hotel Five over Red Lion was the location that it was at.

We had planned out all of the tourist locations we wanted to visit including malls, Space Needle, Woodland Park Zoo, and Pike Place Market. With that said, we decided to stay at Hotel Five, which was probably one of the best decisions we had ever made.

The moment we landed, we realized that we would be late in checking into our hotel. Check-in starts at 4pm, which is later than what I am used to given that most places allow you to check-in by 12 noon. Given that it was nearly midnight by the time we got there, we were greeted by staff members at the reception desk (they have a 24-hour service, so you can never be too late in checking in - sweet!).

I had already pre-paid for the hotel through Virgin America (trying to rack up some Elevate Points for mileage) and was worried about the secret charges that some hotels unfortunately do. As though the staff member knew what I was thinking, he kindly passed me two hotel key cards and told Richard and myself that the coffee, tea, and water were complimentary. My ears must have heard wrong because in any other place that I have ever stayed at, using the coffee machine or drinking water from the water bottles in your room would be considered a bar charge to your hotel room. FREE was what I heard, and FREE was literally what it meant. FREE.

The bed was comfortable, there was ample lighting, you had a choice between a sun screen or to completely block out peeping bystanders at the window, there is a complimentary umbrella in your closet in case it ever rains, the stand up shower was spacious and the bathroom was a perfect size. Also, free wifi. Let me say that again: Free WORKING and FAST wifi. Everything was perfect about the hotel and the next few things made it even better:

1.) Free rental bikes. Yes, I said it. Free rental bikes. They were charming yellow-painted beach cruisers that you can take throughout the city of Seattle, where there are actually bike lanes.
2.) Free pineapple cupcakes and Starbucks coffee every day at 3pm. "Yes, you can take as many as you want. We have more in the back," they said. What did I do? I took four and I did not even feel judged.
3.) Free shuttles to the Woodland Zoo, Space Needle, and Pike Place Market. In fact, the shuttle can take you to other places too. My boyfriend and I did not take the shuttle because we really wanted to see if we could walk everywhere (to which we mostly did). But the fact that there is a shuttle to take you places is amazing enough.
4.) Upon checking out of our hotel, we did not have any secret fees to pay. It took me less than 3 minutes to check out and I could not have been happier.

Will we stay at this hotel the next time we visit Seattle? You bet we will. At $900 (includes tax) for 8 nights, 7 nights it was basically a steal.

My husband and I stayed here when we went to Seattle for Comic Con this year. Great hotel! Loved the decor and the bed was super comfy. The staff was always extremely helpful and very knowledgable of downtown Seattle. The hotel is far enough away from all the touristy areas to be quiet, but still close enough to walk to EMP, Space Needle, Pike Place Market, etc.
Even though we loved the hotel, I do have two small complaints. Parking is one. The parking garage is super small. You can barely get your car in or out. This I cannot blame on them because I found that most parking in Seattle is cramped. Second, the restaurant in the hotel is only open for limited hours. Would have been nice to sit in the room after a long day and order room service for dinner.
All in all, we will probably stay here again. You must check it out if ever in need of a hotel in Seattle.

This place? Was pretty good.

Got a room here via Hotel Tonight... got to the counter, and the folks were polite, knowledgable about the area, and overall damned nice. (The follow up call a few minutes later freaked me out at first, but really, now that I think about it, why DON'T more hotels do that?)

Other reviewers have used the phrases hip and funky to describe the room and the decor, and I can't argue that one bit. This is a hotel to visit if you want a little flair with your stay -- but not so much that you feel like you're staying in a Coldplay video. (I don't know where that reference came from.)

Only two downsides - one, it didn't feel like there was much in the neighborhood.  My stay was on a Friday afternoon, and while the Space a Needle and such were within walking distance, it felt like the rest of the area had already shut down.  Also, parking was a pain - I didn't mind the $15 fee, but the garage and lot were ridiculously tight to get in/out of, especially with a rental car that you really don't want to bang up.

I'd stay here again. Absolutely.

If you are planning on visiting Seattle and looking for a hotel with nice, clean rooms, an excellent location, and affordable prices, Hotel Five should be on your shortlist. First off, the hotel has nice modern decor. Our room was very comfortable and came with complimentary water and coffee/tea. Toiletries were ingeniously placed in dispensers - an eco-friendly move.

Hotel Five's location also can't be beat. Its four or so blocks away from the retail core (10 min), five or so blocks away from the Seattle Center (Space Needle, Music Experience, etc) (10 - 15 min), and a 10 - 15 min walk from Pike's Place. They also had free coffee and cupcakes in the lobby every afternoon! I was also told that they have free bicycles rentals for hotel guests, but the weather was a little wet so I didn't get to take advantage of this amenity. Wi-Fi is also complimentary.

Overall, Hotel Five is a great value,  the location can't be beat, and the staff were very friendly. Hotel Five is definitely my new go-to hotel in Seattle.

The best place we have stayed so far. Just everything was so easy.
Easy directions from the station
Great food everywhere
They have a shuttle to take you around town although we were happy to walk around cause it was close to everything!
They do a cute free cupcakes n coffee in the lobby from 3-7pm. The front desk were so nice and happy to help with anything and any questions.
Free Wifi
Complimentary coffee n water in your room
Free bike hire
And best of all the rooms are awesome. Modern and funky.
Will be looking for this "pineapple" franchise in other places.

I only stayed here for one night and was very pleased. It doesn't have that "hotel" feel that most do in the rooms, there are beautiful hard wood floors, bright and funky art work and a very modern and edgy style to the decor, I really liked it! Vending machines and an ice box with bags of ice all ready to grab and go are on each floor and they provide complimentary cupcakes and coffee, yum!
Our friends who stayed in the hotel seemed to get lucky and had what we thought was a suite, yet the front desk said it wasn't - either way, the room was awesome! A little sitting area with a couch (that pulls out to a couch) and a couple chairs with the TV - the shower was so nice too - a huge walk in shower with multiple spouts all over the shower that aimed to spray you in different directions.
Friendly service and only 15$ a night for parking in a prime downtown area of Seattle.

Beautiful boutique hotel with all of the major tourist spots within walking distance and near the Westlake train station. By beautiful I mean the rooms with their wooden floors and modern colourful furniture and decor. Also free wifi in the room. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful during my visit and there's always a batch of pineapple mini-cupcakes in the lobby.

The main negative is that with the wooden floors you will hear everything that your neighbours are doing. Luckily the neighbourhood around (Belltown) seems to be quiet at night.

I stayed at the Maxwell Hotel (a sister to Hotel Five) a couple years ago and really enjoyed myself, so I thought I'd try out Hotel Five on this visit. I encouraged other friends in town for the same event to also book at one of the Pineapple properties, based on my prior experience, and everyone was pretty happy with their stay.

The location is excellent, and the hotel and rooms are all very modern and thoughtfully decorated. I have to admit that some touches at the Maxwell are a bit better (the beds and parking, primarily), but both are really nice overall.

There are of course the free pineapple cupcakes at 3pm and free bike rentals in the lobby, which is always a hit with everyone regardless of whether or not you take advantage. There is free wifi, but on this stay it was pretty slow and actually went down a couple times (not so great, since I needed to log in remotely for work). The bathrooms are nice, and I think Hotel Five's are better than the Maxwell's since the water pressure is very good here (assuming that is still an issue @ the Maxwell). It might be nice if they included a mini-fridge in the rooms, but everything else you might need for a short stay can be found (iron, hairdryer, fancy coffee maker, bottled water, etc). It did not apply to us, but they also accept pets and give free local tours on their shuttle.

The only issues that really popped up were to do with the parking (there isn't enough of it, the lot is very cramped and it is not free) and the bed (on rollers, on a hardwood floor; thus we'd wake up with pillows falling down behind the bed repeatedly)...but they were both minor complaints. You also will probably come across homeless people bothering you while you walk in or out of the hotel any time after dusk. This isn't really the fault of the hotel, just a fact of being downtown.

I do enjoy boutique hotels such as this, over large chains - so for anyone who feels similarly, I'd recommend giving Hotel Five a shot. It's above average, reasonably priced and in a prime location.

This is a wonderful little hotel right near all the tourist attractions but not at all out of reach of more esoteric spots in Seattle and the outlying areas. If you use Lyft, you can get to pretty much anywhere for very cheap. If you are going just for the tourist spots, you can pretty much walk to any place as long as you young and able-bodied and for those who aren't, they are so close that a cab ride isn't much. The hotel also offers a town car service at a flat rate. If you are headed anywhere further away, this saves you money because the taxis can't run-up the meter on you when one of the bridges goes up! Pike Place, Seattle Art Museum, The Aquarium, Space Needle, EMP, etc. are all very close. Good places to eat abound.

The rooms are clean and have a very modern look. They come with a safe, free bottled water everyday, and coffee by the cup (Keurig Machines). They also have Ipod docking stations and plenty of options on the tube. The front desk service was always excellent. They could answer almost any question and were never rude. WiFi is free. The person who checked us in called it, "a basic human need." Haha.

For the money, you can't go wrong with Hotel Five. It's not the St. Regis, but it's more than enough for any sensible person.

Last minute downtown stay needed on 4th of July and this was the best price for three-star or better accommodations.  Early check-in was permitted and the place has a real boutique hotel feel (e.g. funky decor and quirky themes).  No issues with the eight hours we spent in the room.

I've stayed at many downtown hotels.  This was one worth recommending and Yelping about. Will definitely stay here again. Convenient self on-site parking is $15/night.  Free wi-fi.  Free bottled waters in room including individual cup Keurig coffee makers in each room.  No fridge or microwave but location is close to many restaurants within walking distance or use their complimentary bike rentals.  Staff was friendly and quite informative.  Has a unique, fun and colorful retro style that gives the hotel some Seattle character.

Hotel 5 gets 5 stars for service, quality, cleanliness and attitude. This is a hotel that goes above and beyond to please the guests. We asked for a refrigerator in our room and it was there. We asked for local restaurants and they supplied me yes and recommendations. Our room was a two room suite (there is only one like this on each floor, so ask for it specifically) with a 5th floor monorail view. The bed was extremely comfortable with a pleasant decor and plenty of light. There was free in room bottled water and a Keurig coffee machine with free coffee.

The shower in our room had a problem and we were immediately moved to another outstanding room personally by our host Andrew. I will add that the room on the 5th floor had better lighting than the suite on the 3rd floor, but the monorail view on the 3rd floor was eye level and perfect.

The hotel restaurant was outstanding and priced fair for the area. The mobile valet was wonderful in getting us to poles Place Market and throughout the city. Parking was only $15 a night, which is a great price in Seattle.  The hotel is extremely close to restaurants and the donut shop.

I would stay at this hotel again, ask for the suite rooms with a monorail view. That have special package pricing that made it very reasonable. This is a renovated hotel with new life. Enjoy the special motif and enjoy.

5 STARS for hotel 5!!!This hotel is the most perfect spot ever! Right smack in the middle between Space needle and Pike place.  We stayed there for 2 days. The room has ample space and I am inlooove with their bathroom mirror lol. Probably took some thousand of selfies there. Hahahah!
It was a rainy day, and a cute yellow umbrella is provided in the room. They also provide a shuttle service tho we didnt get to use it coz everything was walking distance, but that was awesome too!
The ambiance of the hotel is so hip and cool it's perfect for young travelers!
Another extra star for being really close to CINERAMA, the greatest movie theather in all of US!!!
Finally their cafe downstairS is 5 stars too! You'd expect crappy ready to microwave food but boy was i wrong, the food was above and beyond delicious! :)
Overall, everything in the hotel is Exceptional!! I hope that they keep it this way :) 2thumbs up!

Summer is cruise season and hotel prices spike right through the roof.

Just a few weeks ago, there were plenty of reasonably priced hotels all over the city but now finding anything under $200 is near impossible.

Hotel Five to the rescue.

Seattle is one of my regular stops and I do my best to save the company money. But my usual hotels are packed and insanely expensive, so "tis the season" I book Hotel Five.

This smaller boutique hotel is located right in the heart of Belltown and easy walking distance to some of the Emerald Cities best restaurants and tourist sites. The rooms are comfortable and include plenty of extras. The front desk staff is always friendly and make a special effort to welcome those returning visitors (even though you had me down as MS. C).

If you are on a tight budget and are planning on visiting Seattle during peak tourist season, be sure to check this place out. You will not be dissapointed.

Long overdue review!  I stayed at this hotel with my boyfriend for 3 nights, and I LOVED IT!!!  We went here last May and the weather wasn't cloudy, nor rainy either.  Anyway we went through Orbitz and got a really good deal with this hotel.  It was convenient, and it even made the check-in process easier.

We didn't rent a car, so we walked most of our trip.  We took the shuttle from Seatac Airport and got off on the last stop, and from the last stop it takes about 20 minutes to walk to this hotel.  After that, everything else will fall into place!  This hotel is practically near everything!  Walking distance to Space needle, Pike Place, and many other restaurants nearby.  Even if you didn't make reservations for dinner; there is many NICE restaurants near the hotel, walking distance of course!

Besides the fact that this hotel is walking distance with tourist attractions, it was very cozy and hip.  Their furniture inside were nice, very modern hotel.  They also allow you to rent their bikes in the front lobby.  It's a small hotel, but it's okay with me because I prefer less busy hotels.  The front desk was also helpful, and nice.  Excellent customer service.  I would definitely stay here again next time we visit Seattle.

I also love their shuttle services.  If you're feeling tired from all the walking, definitely take advantage of their free shuttle service.  They also have a shuttle to the airport, but you need to pay for that.

When you walk in, two words come in my mind when I see the style of the hotel:
"HIPSTER HOTEL"  -- It's okay though!  It's cool and unique. I highly suggest this hotel for anyone that's on a budget, but wants a nice, modern, clean hotel room that's walking distance to tourist attractions.

Had a great experience at this hotel. We had the king suite on the highest floor (by request because we read that it's quieter) and it was perfect. It was like a 1 bedroom apartment. We were most impressed with the bathroom. The modern--and doorless--shower was really cool. It has multiple shower heads and great water pressure! We felt so refreshed after showering. And we loved that the shampoo and soap were wall mount dispensers instead of little bottles.

The staff were all friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, and we appreciated the little touches like complimentary water bottles, coffee, bikes, and of course the free and yummy daily cupcakes.

I expected make-up removers in the bathroom as mentioned in other reviews, but I didn't receive any in my room.

Location-wise, it's walking distance to most of the tourist spots. Don't expect Pike's Place to be right outside the door though, or even a block away. It's a good 15ish minute walk, depending on how fast you walk.

Yes, the walls really are thin and you will NOT want to stay next to the elevators. We could hear people watching TV through their doors and you can definitely hear hallway noise right outside the elevator. Also, the doors slam. But because we were in the corner, we were away from it all.

Only thing I have to "complain" about is the bed and pillows were a little on the soft side. I prefer a firmer mattress and supportive pillows.

Overall, I'd recommend Pineapple hospitality!

We arrived on 04/30 (me Birthday) and got there around noon , check in wasn't til later on but the hotel desk clerk didn't miss a beat, she was pleasant, upbeat, greeted us with a smile and wished me a happy birthday. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. They were absolutely awesome!! The onsite restaurant was awesome, the food was great and the service was as well. The hotel is centrally located, we walked to Pike's market place and the Space needle and even downtown to the mall. It was an extremely GREAT experience and I would definitely stay there again/ We departed on the morning of 05/04.Jessie C

Friendly host, ver good and convenient location in the downtown, and being better than regular 2 and 3 star hotels are the reasons that I give more than 3 stars to Five. But it's not perfect, no micro, no refrigerator, old building (although it's renovated and you can find interesting sharp colors there) and limited parkings are the attributes that make it less than a five comparing to others in this category.

I was here a couple of weeks ago, and just stayed here with my sister for a girls-okay-old-ladies' weekend. She loved the place, but I thought there was a need for some follow-up.

(1) Seattle is a city. It's still an entirely civilized city as cities go, but it is, in fact, a city. This may come as news to some people, but if you want the suburb experience (clean, safe, sanitized), stay in the bleeping suburbs. If you want to be in the heart of a city and feel its pulse, I still recommend Hotel Five.

(2) People really like this hotel. Most people are like most people, relatively sane and properly behaved. However...people really like this hotel, and that includes badly behaved, inconsiderate hipsters who come in drunk at 1:45am and don't have a clue that their bad behavior may be impacting the well-being of other guests. It also includes German tourists with no sense of personal space and an obscene amount of luggage, and cranky business types who whine about there not being a free breakfast available. I saw/heard all of these people at my last stay. But the hotel cannot legally screen for assholes.

My point? You get noise in hotels. Most people get that. You'll get toilets flushing and doors closing and occasional TV, blowdryer and sexy-no-no-yes-time noise. That's life. Civilized people understand this, and try to be appropriate and considerate, keeping in mind that silence in a big city is just not possible. But this is not the dorm at Oklahoma State. After 11pm, shut the fuck up.

(3) Speaking of assholes, apparently a few people with Washington plates cannot read. I'm sick and tired and thoroughly disabled -- as in, all the time. I have a handicapped placard. I have a disease destroying my body and my life. SO STAY THE FUCK OUT OF MY PARKING SPACE. If you don't have the handicapped placard or license plate, don't park in the handicapped space. If you're not disabled, would you like to be? Because I can certainly help you with that.

[For the record, the hotel dealt with the noisy brats -- apparently, I wasn't the first to complain, and I actually waited for an hour in case the little dickheads passed out -- and I think they got 86'd because I never heard another peep and I was right next door. And there is underground parking, slightly inconvenient but very nicely secured from theft and elements, so yes, there IS enough parking despite the whiners whining.]

(4) The next night it was too quiet and I couldn't sleep. Oh, the irony. Makes no sense to me, either: no city noise, not a siren or a homeless person or even a garbage truck or a street sweeper. So I got up and made my way to the Int'l Dist, and had Hong Kong noodles with steamed pork buns at 1am. Didn't I tell you Seattle was an entirely civilized city? Seattle is a wonderfully civilized city. Best part? This is a big deal, because the hotel locks the lobby door at night. You have to intercom your way in, and the guy at the front desk checks for key cards in the nicest possible way. It's a small but highly important safety measure in a big city which you may not have considered. I'd been worried, and now I'm not.

Finer points:

(5) There's an in-room safe that is perfectly sized (and carpeted) to stow a MacBook in.

(6) People who say the rooms "are a little small" are rubes who have never been to NYC or Hong Kong. These rooms are good sized for a big city, and the bathroom, for the size it is, is perfectly laid out. I had only a shower (a nice shower, though) on the first stay; a room with a double queen actually has a bathtub. Nice.

(7) Best hotel WiFi, ever.

(8) If you absolutely must have a view from your hotel room (seriously?), go stay at the extremely beige Sheraton on 6th. When I say beige, I mean beige. If you insist on a view, you're probably beige, too.

(9) Don't be an asshole.

(10) No, this hotel doesn't have everything, like an in-room fridge and fluffy bathrobes and bottles of shampoo you can take home with you. They have many more amenities (free bottled water, bikes to borrow, best coffee maker ever) that you never get at other hotels, including an incredibly accommodating staff, from the front desk to the people who clean the rooms. This place rocks.

Decent hotel. I like the decor, it was different then most hotels which made me want to book it in the first place. Price was really good considering how close you are to a lot down town, much is in walking distance. I really like the free water and coffee in the rooms. The coffee maker came in handy the Sunday morning after a Saturday night of drinking. I would recommend for others to stay.
It was a lot smaller than I had pictured but it was fine. Why do you need tons of space if you are just sleeping and transitioning? Good hotel, not a disappointment recommending for others in the area.

One thing that bothered me, the door to the room SLAMS shut. So loud...you can hear everyone's door slamming down the hall as someone leaves...
Room was small so the AC worked all too well

Stayed here during my trip to Seattle.
Very modern hotel. Great walking distance to downtown, once you get to know the area. Stayed for 2 nights. Then stayed with my friend. Hotel staff was awesome! My flight got in early so I was hoping they would have a room ready for me. They did!!! I checked in about 11 when normal check im is 3. They didnt charge me extra either.

The rooms were very clean. The decor was modern and hip. Loved the bathroom area. Small but perfect for me traveling by myself.
I would have totally used the free bikes if I could get used to the rain but maybe next time in the summer!
Also got credit to put towards my next stay there. They also had free cupcakes in the lobby in the afternoon that were good!

Let me first give you a little bit of background on myself before I begin my review (skip to next paragraph if you aren't interested). I carry reusable bags in my rather large purse, cup sleeves I've crocheted myself in case I forget my thermos which I have been religiously carrying every where this winter, always buy in bulk to reduce waste, taught myself to shower in record time to reduce water consumption, and try to stray from fast foods and restaurants that opt for disposable products as opposed to reusable kitchenware (key word, try, sometimes these places have killer food and you can't say no).

So beyond the initial modern, clean, and extremely attractive pictures of this hotel, what got me to book was that they were ECO-FRIENDLY AND PET FRIENDLY. What???? Hotels can do that?

other perks

*shuttle service takes you to limited locations but easy to reserve and available as stated on their website
*free pineapple cupcakes topped with (vanilla?) cream and toasted coconuts everyday
*free keurig coffee and tea
*free water bottles (I bought my own souvenir Space Needle water bottle to reuse instead of using these lol)
*free bike rentals (it was too cold for us to bike around but they were an attractive yellow color)
*free umbrella during your stay
*free facial wipes (boys, take note, its the little things you do for us girls that count)
*shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion and hand soap all in a dispenser to reduce waste
*free tooth brush and tooth paste for you last minute packers who forget things (me!) available at the front desk
*extremely clean and you have the option of reusing your towels as opposed to getting new ones every day
*extremely friendly and helpful staff
*free coffee and water at the lobby
*complimentary ear buds (you can ask for more as they only provide one) due to the construction

Cons:
-the walls were not sound proof, my first night was almost sleepless as I could hear every bit of traffic down below and if my neighbors weren't considerate, I'd hear them too.
-uhhh... there weren't enough pineapple cupcakes to fill my already stuffed tummy??? (I felt bad hoarding them... so I only took 4 a day...for myself)

Seriously the best hotel I have been to. I got to converse with one of the staff members in the elevator and all I remember him saying to me before he left was, "I don't find it necessary to be mean, it doesn't get you any where but a lot of people just don't understand... Have a great day!!" and with that, this happy soul was off to do whatever it was he was going to do.

Thank you for the clean room, for the tons of complimentary things other hotels do not offer, for being ecofriendly, pet-friendly, hip and modern, and just for being a fantastic friendly group of people to run into.

(Another plus that happened as a mere coincidence, my room number was the number of mine and my boyfriend's anniversary date n___n)

Awesome hotel. My husband and I stayed here for a weekend and loved it so much. Not your typical chain hotel and for the price, we will definitely come back to Hotel Five again. The room was pretty cool, bed was very comfortable and the amenities they offered were great. They had bikes that you could use to get around Seattle for free. We didn't get to use the bikes, we will next time. Loved the decor throughout the hotel. Our room was looking out to 5th street, but didn't hear a thing in the evening. Very quiet and everywhere we went was walking distance. Thank you Hotel Five for a wonderful experience.

Let me get the negative outta the way first...
~The parking spaces were super tiny, and from what I hear are a lil difficult to find sometimes.
~The room is TINY. The bathroom is huge,as well as the shower, but if there are two of you, don't plan on leavings stuff around because there is no room.
~The individual covers are cool to an extent, but for those of us who like to cuddle, they're a little inconvenient.
~This place is very modern, so if you like classic elegance, (Where you don't feel you can touch anything) this isn't it.
~Having said that, i LOVED the decor. The artwork, reception area, and joyful neon outside were all nice touches.
~They have free bikes to ride around the town, and this is a nice area to use them.
~The Staff is SUPER friendly, and were not only accommodating, but very helpful and super friendly.
~THINGS YOU MIGHT LIKE...
~$15 Per night parking-WAY better than most downtown hotels!
~Kuereg in the room! A coffee lover's dream.
~They don't nickel and dime, bottled water is free
~FREE WIFI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You don't know you need this until you have to pay for it on a trip.
~Location-close to everything downtown including the space needle, pikes place, and easy access to the trains, which can take you anywhere from the airport to the baseball and football stadiums.
~They have a cool donut shop next door, a bar and grill two blocks away, a starbucks two blocks away, and a Walgreens three blocks away, which we used a couple times lol.
~I really liked it here, and didn't really get bothered by the noise...even when the monorail goes by (You hear me queens, NY).  I would definitely come back here on my nest trip to Seattle!

Great, hip little oasis in the middle of Belltown.  Everyone was friendly here from the concierge to the custodians.  Our deluxe room came with a super comfortable queen bed, free water, makeup wipes, a bathroom, and a coffee maker.  My only qualm about this place was that it didn't come with a mini fridge to put our beer in, but this was a very minor issue being that we were not staying at this hotel for the long term.

Other amenities include:
-Free mini pineapple cupcakes & coffee in the latter part of the afternoon
-Access to their mini gym
-Access to their bikes
-Free shuttle rides to popular tourist spots

This place is a gem for those who just want to relax in the middle of the city.  It's a fairly close walk to most of Tom Douglas' restaurants, the downtown area, and Pike Place.  We booked our four night stay via Orbitz and it ended up being only $700 between the both of us (much cheaper than it would've been had we reserved the room directly through Hotel Five's site).  The combination of the reasonable cost, great amenities, and fantastic service made for a great trip in one of my favorite American cities.

My husband and I stayed here over the Valentine's weekend from Friday-Sunday. We were promptly and politely checked in and given a room. We paid $300 total for two nights which is a great deal for nearly downtown Seattle!

A good word for the room is that it's very cool. Honestly, I expected a rock hard bed and a less than great room but it went beyond my expectations. Everything was well stocked and the TV had some good channels on it. The room was just fun as far as comfort and style is concerned.

Cons: our room's location. It was truly awful. Friday night I didn't sleep a wink because loads of insanely loud drunk people walked by our room all night and this was worsened by the fact that the elevator was right by our room. Additionally, 5th avenue was loud...sirens, monorail, horns, etc. But again, not at the fault of the hotel and I just recommend you stay away from the rooms that face 5th if you need peace & quiet to sleep. Our room was 515 which was literally in front of the elevator, FYI.

Another tip - parking is $15 dollars within the hotel's parking lot, but literally half a block away it's $17 for 24 hours. We just did that.

Besides that, I am EXCITED to stay here again! It's definitely in a great location and on top of that, there is free coffee, tea, and CUPCAKES!!!! starting at 3PM in the lobby from the local cupcake place around the corner.

I stayed here for 3 nights and it was a very enjoyable stay while I was in Seattle.

Location: very central to pretty much everything. We did not rent a car and were able to walk just about everywhere we wanted to. It's about a 10 minute walk to Pike's, 10 to Pacific Place Mall, and about 15 minutes to the Space Needle. There is coffee, breakfast, dinner, movie theater, etc all within very reasonable distance.

Service: very great. I requested early check in and they accommodated with no problem. Check in and check out was a breeze. The entire staff was so nice and friendly. They always helped with calling cabs, assisting with luggage, etc. They even had complimentary bikes! Oh and cannot forget the pineapple cupcakes. And yes, they are just as good as all the reviews say. Heavenly mini cupcakes that melt in your mouth with bomb ass frosting and coconut shreds on top.

Room: It was relatively small. The bathroom has terrible lighting which made all my Seattle selfies horrible. The bed was not very comfortable (I like beds soft and plush) and the pillows were very mediocre. The dark walls made it very dark in the room, but it was very modern and clean. Biggest complaint about the room - all of the hallways going to the rooms were so hot! At least 80-85 degrees in the hallways.

Price: we paid $750ish for 3 nights. I personally think that that is pricy! But all of downtown Seattle is expensive so oh well.

I would stay here again for sure.

My bf and I stayed here the other week for a vacation and we LOVED IT!  We lucked out with the weather, it was sunny but cold.  At least it wasn't the gloomy Seattle weather we were expecting.

We didn't rent a car, so we walked around for the trip.   This hotel is walking distance to all the "tourist-y" spots Seattle has to offer.  A quick 10-15 min walk to the Space Needle as well as Pike's Place Market.  There are also many trendy restaurants close to the hotel.  Too tired to walk/raining? They have a shuttle that will drop you off and pick you up from those tourist attractions.  There are also bikes you can rent out for the day as well.  Awesome!

The hotel is trendy, modern, and very cozy.  Once you walk in, you feel like you're in an art museum.  The lobby is super colorful, with the bikes mentioned right by the lobby door.  It's a smaller hotel, but perfect for those get-aways.  The front desk staff were very helpful, explaining all the different things they had to offer.  We had a friend meet us at the hotel, and the hotel staff offered him some coffee while he was waiting for us. :)   They also close/lock the lobby door at night.  You need your room key to get in as well as show it to the front desk.  Safety first!

The room was on the smaller side, but had enough space for the two of us.  A big comfy bed, TV, complimentary water, Keurig coffee and tea, and free wi-fi!  They also provide you with shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, and for the ladies, make up remover.

They were doing construction around the hotel while we were there, but were kind enough to provide us with ear plugs so the noise wouldn't bother us. Thumbs up!

Would definitely stay here again for the next trip to Seattle, and would also recommend to friends!  Thanks Hotel Five!

We were warmly welcomed at Hotel FIVE. We arrived quite early, so they safely stored our bags. Upon returning from walking around, we retrieved our bags, checked in, and ate some delicious mini cupcakes they had for guests.

Our room was very clean and just like the pictures online. The Seattle decor was/is simply awesome! My roommates loved to see the Keurig coffee maker. We appreciated the coffee and bottled water was free. Also, when I noticed I forgot my tooth brush, the front desk happily chatted me up, provided me one, and booked our free shuttle reservation for the next day.

Our shuttle ride was on time and the driver was awesome! We did not take advantage of the free bicycle rentals, yet noticed others taking them out.

Everyone in my party is happy to recommend Hotel FIVE. The location is great. It was easy to walk to many attractions.

I stayed here for a recent trip to Seattle (Friday-Monday), which we booked through Orbitz and enjoyed our stay immensely. They had rooms available so we were able to get an early check in since we arrived around 11AM. The staff is so helpful and accommodating! The front desk provided us with maps and tips on where to visit and they even have FREE bike rentals and a shuttle to all the tourist attractions.

The room is very modern and clean and stocked with a Keurig, FREE coffee, tea and waters. There's a large flat screen TV with cable and the bathroom was stocked with Tommy Bahama lotion, soap, shampoo, conditioner and body wash for you to use. I LOVED their bed, it was probably the most comfortable bed I'm slept in from a hotel.

We were also able to take the Link Light Rail (for $2.75) from Sec-Tac Airport and exited the last stop, Westlake and walked about 10 mins to get to the hotel. Everything is literally a 10-15 minute walk (Seattle Center, Downtown, Pike's Market, Seattle Aquarium, etc). We didn't even have to use the bike rentals since everything was so close but we did use the shuttle a couple times since it was raining. Also, there is an umbrella in the closet for you to use which we took advantage of during our stay here.

Around 3PM every day they set out FREE mini pineapple cupcakes and fresh brewed Starbucks coffee in the lobby for guests. There is also FREE wifi as well that worked relatively fast.

Checkout was quick and easy (less than 5 minutes) and we were able to take their shuttle to Westlake to get to the Link Light Rail to reach the airport. Would definitely stay here again!

I stayed here for 4 nights and loved it. When my friend & I got here it was around 9am, which is before the check in time. We asked the lady at the front desk if we could check in early. She said we could, but the only room available was one facing the parking lot. We were exhausted from our flight so we took the room. I made sure to ask her if the parking lot was noisy before settling. She told us it was a small parking lot & isn't noisy at all. Then informed us of all the hotel had to offer & even handed us a map. I loved how she made a great first impression. I had doubts that the reviews on yelp would be wrong about this place.

My friend & I loved how this place so much! It was within walking distance to many touristy spots. There were some days we took the shuttle or uber. Make sure to try the free cupcakes here, so good!!! The driver of the shuttle was also very friendly & informative. On the last day here, our airport shuttle wasn't arriving until 2pm. We called the front desk and asked if they could hold onto our luggage, which they did.

Overall, there's so much to love about this place:
-GREAT customer service
-free shuttle
-free cupcakes (my fave!!)
-within walking distance to pike place market
-clean rooms
-safe in the room to keep valuables
& so much more!
I will be back hotel five :)

We had a great experience.  If the view out your window is important to you or you want a quiet romantic spot this is not your hotel. If you want a nice, clean, affordable place to stay with upscale flair this is for you.

Stayed two nights mid week. Check in staff was helpful and fast. Cupcakes at checkin were a great touch. The room was clean and modem with quality amenities: slippers, robe, bath sheet size towels, product dispensers (shampoo, conditioner, soap, & lotion), and kurig.

Uniqueness that we liked included the individual duvet covers, the unlimited bottles water, free bicycle checkout, on site beer, and hardwood floors (much cleaner). They give you earplugs on the night stand so they must now it can be noisy but frankly we didn't notice a noise problem at all.

Their Parking was perfect for us. Location was good.

Great hospitality at this hotel, kudos to the staff. Design & layout, very hip. Location is great.

However, I was unlucky enough to be given a room next to or near a family with an unhappy toddler. The housekeeping seemed to have stationed her cart right outside my door when she started her work early Sunday morning, too. It was really easy to hear everything in the hallway. Appreciate the earplugs, but I'm not used to anything in my ears while asleep. Maybe where there are loud explosions, yes.

Our stay at Hotel Five was great!  We rented a 4 runner and we had no problem parking it; downtown Seattle parking is scarce or you pay a lot, so grateful for the parking and free shuttle.  There were 4 adults In a room and we had no problems fitting our stuff. Loved the bathroom and the naked expirence bedding was super nice, the slippers, robe and umbrella were a nice touch.  We had no problems with noise, it was actually quiet.  The only drawback was no refrigerator,
or microwave in the room, but we managed fine.
The price was reasonable for downtown, as others were out of our price range.
Overall, there's so much to love about this place:
-GREAT customer service
-free shuttle
-free pineapple cupcakes, pineapple water, coffee
-within walking distance to pike place market
-clean rooms
-safe in the room to keep valuables
& so much more!

I'm so disappointed, I had such high hopes going in. We will be visiting Seattle frequently and thought this would be our hotel, but it's not going to be.

We stayed here for 3 nights. On the second night, a group of people jolted us out of sleep at around 12:30/1:00. They were screaming, hollering, drunk, and eventually at 2:00am, started a fight in the hallway, right in front of our room. My husband and I traveled with our 5 month old baby and this woke us all up. That group did not calm down until well after 3:30 and after hours of coaxing my baby back to sleep, I couldn't sleep until 5 in the morning.

The next day I complained to the front desk and their solution was giving me a $25 gift card to their cafe. When I told the employee that we wouldn't have time to eat there in the morning, she was like, "well, do you want the gift card?" Seriously? This wasn't a half hour disruption, it went on for FOUR hours. Any decent hotel would have comped that night, not a $25 gift card to their cafe that we weren't planning on using!

Again, so disappointing. If they had handled the situation properly, this would be a very different review.

Very mixed feelings about this hotel:

Pros:
Great location (seriously, so great)
Very clean
Cool decor
Cupcakes in the lobby
Excellent accommodations (hotel + room) - umbrellas, bike rentals, keurig, robes, slippers

Cons:
Paper thin walls - you will hear a toilet flush from down the hall
Paper thin walls - you will hear someone stomping around upstairs yet it sounds like their walking around 5 feet away from you
Paper thin walls - you will hear people talking in the hallway as they walk by your room
Paper thin walls - you will hear housekeeping cleaning a room 5 doors down
Unfriendly staff - they said their "hello's" and "have a good day's" as you came in and out but if you were to ask them for something, mad eye rolls.
Small TV - I know you don't go on vacation to watch TV, but after a long day of walking around the city and exploring, you might want to kick back at night and watch a good movie or show on a decently sized TV

Will I stay here again? Not unless they do some serious work to those styrofoam walls.

One of the BEST HOTEL I've ever been to. No it isn't all diamonds and glamour like Vegas but this special place is super clean and the best thing is it makes you feel really comfy and at home.

Before we booked this hotel, a lot of yelpers already reassured me that this place is amazing.
Perks:
- free shuttle (gotta request when/where)
- free bike rentals (probably only good in the summer)
- a yellow borrower umbrella in your room
- free water and coffee
- free pineapple cupcakes midday!
- amazing bathroom mirror
- free makeup removal towelettes for the ladies ^_^ (how considerate)
- really modern lounge area to wait for your party downstairs
- Eco friendly.. Request that you only place a card on the bed to get new linen otherwise, keep the same ones so you can conserve water.
- provided ear plugs (only downside is that they only have us one pair)
- provided shampoo, conditioner, lotion that all smelled like pineapple! ( I love pineapple!)

Cons:
- hallways to rooms looked like dorm halls.. Which looks creepy at first until you get in the room
- our room was directly across the vending machine and it can get loud. It woulda been nice if there was a separate snack room.

I am so so so happy to have booked this place. I hope I'm not missing anything. They were very nice and provided so much. I wish I could have taken advantage of the bikes and umbrella but it was all good.  We were close enough to everything. All we had to do was walk about 10 minutes to all the sight seeing places.  The pros outweigh the cons. I would def recommend and would come back here. We stayed here for 3 nights and it really felt comforting returning here each night. This hotel was a perk within our trip!

Upon our arrival to Hotel Five, Saturday, February 14, we discovered that when we booked through a third party agency our check in date was entered incorrectly. Apparently, we missed our stay with them by two days and they were booked for the night! Thank goodness for front desk agent, Rye, and front desk manager, Jasmine, for saving the day! They were able to "fix" the mistake for us and get us a room with them for the night! It is so nice to know that there are still people working in
hospitality/customer service industry that care and are not just there for a paycheck and realize that mistakes happen!

Besides the wonderful service we received by Jasmine and Rye, my boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Five. Overall, the hotel was nice and looked just like the pictures. The mini pineapple flavored cupcakes were delicious! Our room was clean and I loved that they provided dispensers filled with Tommy Bahamas shampoo, conditioner, soap, and lotion in the bathroom! The bed was so comfortable and we each had our own soft, fluffy, warm duvet to sleep with so no fighting over the covers in the middle of the night. We haven't slept that soundly in a long time! For being downtown we were actually surprised how the noise was not a factor for us. We visit Seattle often, especially during football season so we will definitely be back and it also helps that your hotel is pet friendly!

Thank you, Jasmine and Rye for making our stay possible!

Awesome hotel in Seattle! Hotel 5 is in walking distance of tourist spots like Pike Place and the space needle. The hotel is very modern looking and the service was attentive and just overall fantastic.

Some fun benefits of the hotel are:
Free cupcakes in the afternoon (pineapple flavored)
Free water
Free shuttle (we did not use)
Free super cute yellow bikes to ride around town (but sadly we didn't not take advantage of this)

The rooms are cute, clean and the  bed was pretty comfy. The only downside  about this hotel is the walls are pretty thin and we heard the couple of  the room next to us fight all night one of the nights during our stay. Despite the annoying neighbors, we would totally stay at Hotel 5 again!

Cool boutique style hotel on the edge of the CBD. Pretty decent value and personable, fairly genuine service. Rooms are a tad small, but that is typical in urban areas like this. Best part-Top Pot Doughnuts is a two minute walk from the hotel!

Nope, Nope, Nope.  When I say, "Meh...I've experienced better" I really do mean that I've experienced better.

Hotel Five was by far the loudest hotel I've ever encountered. I can't blame, nor can I allow all blame to be laid on the city. That's expected and didn't bother us. What bothered us was how loud the hotel itself was. Every time a door closed down the hallway, you could hear it slam shut quite easily. Also, something as simply flushing the toilet....You could hear this from quite a ways down the hallway. That's something I've never encountered, and really didn't care for.

The Hotel itself has a great location, however we couldn't stand staying here due to the noise. And honestly, some ear plugs is not what I'm expecting.  I don't sleep with ear plugs when i'm in the comfort of my own bed at home, why should I use ear plugs while spending $150.10 per night at a hotel, while on vacation?? I shouldn't.

And why do the room keys keep deactivating??? We had to go to the front desk 4-5 times to get new keys. They told us to keep them away from our cell phones as that could demagnetize the cards.  Apparently the cell phones need to be a good 38' away from the keys at all times. Booooooooooo.

And the little dude who was greating people needs to learn how to NOT look his female guests up and down like a perv. I noticed the guy do this on 4 different instances. I do have a beautiful wife, this I know. But that doesn't give this guy an open season permit on making guests feel uncomfortable in their own skin.

We were glad we only reserved the room for one night. We went to the Westin the following night and had a much better experience.

When I first saw this hotel, I knew I had to book here. It's incredible! The design is just my style. The staff is friendly. Restrooms are dreamy.

My itinerary stated check in was 3 but they told us 4 so we had to wait awhile. No big deal with the shops and eats around us.

The umbrella and bike service is great! Not to mention the free shuttle to the popular places. I wouldn't stay anywhere else when I visit here.

This hotel is located right in downtown on 5th avenue (between the northern border of Seattle downtown and Seattle Center). The hotel itself is in quite a convenient location to downtown Seattle tourist attractions like Pike Place Market, Space Needle, Waterfront, etc, so guests can just walk around to places without needing a car/taxi.

What I like about this hotel is that they offer quite a bit of amenities such as free shuttles that drop you off/pick you up from select Seattle attractions (you just need to arrange the pickup/drop off place/time with the lobby ahead of time), free bicycles for you to ride to enjoy the area, as well as complementary afternoon coffee/pineapple cupcakes. The staff was friendly and helpful. The curbside parking lot for quick drop off/pickup was always available when I was dropping off/picking up my family.

The one downside is that there was no fridge in the guest rooms and no common microwave that my family could use while they were staying in Seattle. We were thinking of getting leftover food from the restaurants we went to and some ice cream/frozen food from nearby supermarkets for quick late night snacks, but were quite let down since we wouldn't have places to store and heat up the food.

Overall though, the hotel offers a pleasant stay with convenient access to some of the most popular Seattle touristy spots. It's not the most quiet hotel ever, but it's a good location that I could have my family stay there during the weekdays that I worked without having to worry how they would get around Seattle without a car or someone playing tour guide for them.

My friend and I were visiting from Florida for a 4-night stay over Valentine's Day weekend. We enjoyed a pleasant stay and received wonderful service the entire time. The room provided everything you could ask for (Keurig in the room, bath robes, slippers, umbrellas - which we didn't need - plenty of towels, a hair dryer...everything there).
The pineapple cupcakes were to die for and we probably ate way too many of them.

The location was convenient. We would walk to Pike Market and basically anywhere else. If it was late and we weren't comfortable walking back (or just tired) an Uber was never more than $10.
I would definitively stay here again and can recommend the place. No noise issues either.
