I have never stayed in as bad a hotel as this one. Allow me to explain what happened. I traveled there for a vacation on points with the Gold Membership. I got said membership and points due to another issue with another Hyatt due to bad service. So I figured that since I had enough points to get the room, that it would pretty much be all taken care of. When I arrived, I was told that I couldn't check in to my 2 night stay without a credit card. Umm.. Ok. I never had to produce one before in the 20 or so years I've been going to hotels. I just ask them to turn off amenities to the room and be done with it. I get the staff members assurance that only $50 will be held. So I say ok. I'm then informed that parking is $15 per night. So that's $30. My partner went down and swiped the card for food. They said it didn't go through, but it did. So we are up to $50 now spent and $130 being held (That's right. They not only did a charge, but held the same amount). I then find out at checkout that $64 was then held on my account as the final bill. So right now, I have $244 and some change being held by the hotel. This has caused overdraft fees being applied to the account. What? I added an extra $50? I forgot to tell you. They hold $50 a night. When I checked out, I complained about the extra charges in food (being held against my account, but yet being part of the $64). The manager comes over and I think I'm finally going to get this cleared up. He rudely tells me that he needs to talk to me over to the side (talking to me like I stole something). We talk and not a word about how messed up this is. He said that since I had the points, I MUST know their policies and how they were bending over backwards for me. Yeah. Right. As of 2 days later, with 4 overdraft fees of $35 each, I now have paid (for a "free room") $204 and a total of $384 still being held. Thanks Hyatt. I wasn't a snob at all when it came to hotels. I can understand when things mess up. But to be treated so rudely by the manager and causing so much chaos with my account that I have now swore off hyatt hotels for good. I will NEVER stay in another one so long as I live. On another note, the room was very nice.

On a recent trip through Seattle from British Columbia we needed one night at a comfortable, reasonably priced, centrally located hotel and we found it!  The Hyatt measured up in all areas.  The room lay-out is very useable, the beds were wonderfully comfortable, the hair dryer powerful, the shower good sized, the breakfast adequate and the shuttle very convenient.  Didn't really like the awful smelling shampoo or conditioner, though.

I'm a big fan of Hyatt hotels for their high-quality facilities and superior service -- but they can be spendy and sometimes I don't need all that they offer. Hyatt Place is the perfect solution. The vibe is more casual than regular Hyatt, and you get a lot of amenities for a reasonable price. This Seattle location is new so everything is in great condition, there's free wi-fi everywhere, free (and big) breakfast, free local shuttle, a snack/coffee bar that's always open, pool and nice exercise room, plush and comfy beds and a well-lit vanity with lots of room to spread out (unlike boutique hotel bathrooms that are more about cool looks than comfort), a nice desk area, coffee in the room, etc. My King room had a sectional sofa (with hide-a-bed) in a sitting area that's separated by a divider from the bed -- a really nice idea especially if you're a family with kids and the typical two-queen set-up is a bit too cozy for you! Great lobby with lots of space to relax or have a meeting. Right next to Belltown and three blocks from the Space Needle. My only issue was the elevators. I think they need one more! It was almost always a long wait. Overall, I love this place; I will be back for business and family travel.

This hotel was great!  From the warm greeting that we received to the wonderful (free)breakfast that was served- we would stay here again in heart beat.  The entire hotel was spotless, and the service top notch.  I even had to get up at 1:30am with a sick kid...went to the lobby to see if the Walgreens was open 24 hrs to get him some medicine.  Anyway the 2 guys at the front desk were so helpful- they told me that it wasn't but that they would walk me to the gas station (that has everything), and if they didn't have it would take me in the shuttle to the 24 hr pharmacy!  I was SO impressed.  Luckily, the gas station had the medicine.  Truly a great hotel!!

My hubby was so excited to book this room for the same general price as less quality places, he made double sure we didn't have to pay for parking when booking SO when we got there & found out there was a $20 parking fee/per night he was upset. The manager did however waive the fee since we asked & were not told. Thanks for that. Also when I go out of town I always stay in a hotel with a pool, its a must, I did not expect the Hyatts pool to be a MAX of 3' 10" deep though. The room was fabulous, clean, spacious & had a beautiful view. The queen bed was comfy, couch was roomy, desk was well placed, counter space was adequate, fridge was cold. We took the shuttle a couple of times, it was fast & the driver was friendly & helpful each time. We were surprised other ppl didn't tip them, maybe because its free? Breakfast was good, nothin special but they do roast starbucks coffee of course. It was nice enough for this trip, I think we'll try somewhere else next time though.

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at.  Not expensive, great service.  Free shuttle to/from anywhere within a 1 mile radius anytime! 1 mile is more than enough for downtown Seattle + free buses. Can't beat that.  Great size and room accommodations.  What's great is there's no valet, restaurant, or any of that nonsense...  Just straight up hotel and intimate atmosphere. Highly recommend.  I will look for a Hyatt Place every time I travel

This Hotel is close to many Seattle neighborhoods--Belltown, Downtown financial area, Queen Anne, etc. The free shuttle was excellent, the drivers were friendly. Front desk customer service was great, lobby was bright and clean, and our room was clean as well. Housekeeping did a great job over the few days we were there. The King sized bed was perfect. The pillows were like fluffy clouds...extremely quiet too. Only negative was the tiny bathrooms, which are very poorly lit. But you can't beat $10/night parking for the location. We will be back.

Really nice place. Great breakfast, security, and awesome modern rooms. Four stars only because parking is extremely tight and difficult to get into. Definitely need a person guide you if you've got a suv.

oh this place was nice! one of the nicer hotels nearby. im not from seattle but stayed here for a night. great accommodations with a great staff. lobby is a good size and there are two eating areas/lounges. valet parking can be expensive at close to 45 a day, excluding tip for getting your car each time. not sure if that was worth it, but at least it'll be safer than finding your own lot outside on the streets. the room and bathroom were great. bathroom didn't have a lock and it was just a sliding door. can seem a little awkward if you were traveling with friends or something. bed was extremely comfortable with high quality sheets.

This is one of the best I've stayed in. They offered a free shuttle to the Space Needle and Pike's Place Market, which was amazing since we didn't have to drive around and pay for public parking. The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. Parking was reasonable and located in the basement. The rooms were really clean and laid out just as you'd expect in a Hyatt Place. For breakfast, they had the usual, but something I haven't seen at other HP's... biscuits and gravy and a waffle iron and mix. Next time I'm in Seattle I WILL be staying here!

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel!  The other reviewers have mentioned the perks of this hotel so I won't repeat it here.  One additional FYI...this hotel doesn't have a safe in each room.  The little safe they have behind the front desk only fits wallets and passports.  We would definitely consider coming back to this hotel on our next visit to Seattle!

One of my favorite hotels. Booked for $69 online. Rooms are Junior Suites, with couch and huge plasma tv. Shuttle service was free, and ran all the time. Staff were friendly and helpful. Indoor pool was awesome. Free breakfast had good coffee, and many choices. Space Needle right outside my window!

I'd never stay anywhere else, again. I stayed at Hyatt Place when I was in town for a vacation, and it was perfect. The room had a spacious, and modern layout. Comfortable bed, and very quiet rooms. The staff helped me by answering all of my questions, and the complimentary trolley made getting when I needed to go very easy. Perfect place to stay when wanting to be close to the tourist attractions Downtown.

The breakfast buffet was excellent the rooms were clean and the hotel is located across from Walgreens.  The hotel knows that it is not close to all the attractions and offers a free shuttle within 1 mile radius.  Take the Link from the airport to Westlake Station and the hotel will pick you up from there.  You can also walk to the Monorail (take you to Westlake Station) and Space Needle.  The one complaint I had was the walls were thin.  The view was a gas station and we were often woken up by people arguing at the gas station or the construction.  Other than that, the staff were very helpful.

As a business traveler with a Seattle-based client and a company that has a killer corporate rate with Hyatt, I have been to all three downtown Seattle Hyatt properties- the Grand, the Olive 8 as well as Hyatt Place.  Obviously, the higher end properties are more luxurious, but as a leisure traveler, I'd choose to stay at Hyatt Place. The  breakfast included is great, it's easy (and safe) walking distance to all the important areas downtown, plus there is a free shuttle.

I'm sure this is a wonderful hotel. It is in a great location and our company uses it as often as we have people coming into Seattle (which is A LOT). Unfortunately, their shuttle service is horrible. I called the hotel more than 6 times today to have shuttle come pick us one of our handicapped visitors. The driver passed our building probably 4 times without stopping at the actual building. The guest waited for over an hour; I only know this because I went to lunch and back and the shuttle had to be called again!

The room and the view of the Space Needle was great. I loved that they have a shuttle that will take you anywhere within a mile of the hotel 24 hours a day. The free breakfast that they offered was mainly cereal, toast, yogurt, fruit, and juice; but who can frown at free coffee in the morning. I gave two stars because the front desk clerks with the exception of one whose name I can not remember were lacking serious customer service skills. I enjoyed my room but not the staff.

I had a great experience staying here. It's right next to seattle center and a short walk away from downtown and the market. if you don't fancy walking, the hotel offers a FREE shuttle from their hotel to any distance within a one mile radius. this doesn't sound like much, but consider the size of downtown Seattle and you will realize this will get you to many points of interest. If it doesnt, it can at least take you to the nearest bus tunnel.
The room was spacious and the beds comfortable.
This review gets 4 stars because their breakfast was lacking. They had the usual: carbs (toast, bagel, donut), cereal, fruit, yogurt and the only hot item was gravy and biscuits...which they offered everyday. Why not rotate it so I'm not eating the same stuff everyday?
Oh well, I would still recommend it though for the free shuttle!

I stayed here on my last night in SEattle. I gave 4 stars because:

1. Its 2 blocks away from space needle
2. Its Across from walgreens
3. Free shuttle within a mile
4. Free continental breakfast
5. Free wi-fi for the whole building, no password needed.
6. Indoor heated pool
7. Gym
8. They provide free aquafresh toothpaste inside the room
9. Blow dryer works good.. It's powerful not like the other hotel weak blowdryers.
10.  Room is spacious, cozy and comfy,
11. Free guest parking.

If you like clean, polite, comfortable, and affordable this is your place.  We came here for a weekend in January with my husband and his parents.  We arrived early and was greeted with wonderful smiles and very welcoming and warm staff (Thanks CLINT).  Our rooms were available upon entering the room we were impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms and the comfortable couches in the room.  This is my second trip to Seattle and if and when I come back I will stay here again and again.

The only downfall is the hotel is a little further away from downtown but directly close to the space needle.  however the wonderful Hyatt has made up for that with their 24/7 shuttle service.  They will take you anywhere within one mile of the hotel and every thing is within a mile of the hotel.

Walking is also a great option if you don't mind the half mile walk to down town and the mile walk to pike place market.

Excellent value!  Okay location (really about 4 blocks from Seattle Center...)  Not quite as nice as the Westin, but if you're on a budget with kids, it's awesome!  The Sofa and Hide a bed area was great for my kids, they loved it, and the work area was actually in a little nook that I could get a couple hours of work in while they watched a movie after the pool!

I have stayed at this Hyatt a few times. The reason why I have and will continue to choose this hotel is for many reasons. Very friendly staff, nice clean rooms with comfortable beds, FREE shuttle that takes you anywhere you want with in a mile of the hotel and it runs 24/7, great continental breakfast, all of that for a reasonable price too!!! Need I say more??? Can't wait to go again !

Hyatt Place is one of my favorite hotel chains.  Love the patch panel by the desk, the huge sofa, the tv with swivel that can be seen from either the sofa or bed(s) and the general look and feel of the room.

The location of this hotel is great.  It's across the street from a Walgreens and is only a couple minute walk to the Space Needle (which can be seen from some rooms).

Free breakfast is a plus as well as meals are available around the clock.  There's no room service, but then again, there's no room service fees either.

The reason this hotel gets four stars and not five is that I had to pay $15/day for parking.  I feel that parking should ALWAYS be included.

We had a very pleasant stay in a comfortable room with a great bed!  Plenty of water pressure in the shower, though the lighting in the bathroom was quite dim.  Oh well, I look better in dim light anyway.  Nice comfy couch, free wireless!  The front desk staff were polite and cheerful, all-in-all, a good place to stay.

Had a fabulous stay here in February for one night.  Great location near the space needle.  Rooms were clean and comfortable.  The bathroom is a bit of a strange set up, but some hotels are just quirky like that.  Speaking of quirky what's up with the front desk/barista person?  Again nothing wrong with it just quirky.

Internet connection was good.  Complimentary breakfast in the morning was a nice touch.

The shuttle is a great feature that we used a few times to get into downtown.  I think they would benefit from running the shuttle every 15-20 minutes between the hotel and 1 or 2 downtown locations, rather than taking each guest to their destintation.  Just a thought.

Anyways great stay in Seattle and rates are decent for Seattle.

I travel for work so my second home is hotels.  This place is just like living in a downtown condo.  I feel like a city dweller and love the feeling.

What does the Seattle Half Marathon and the Hyatt Place have in common?! Sweet location.

Stayed at Hyatt Place with friends the night before the big race. Got a (crucial) great nights sleep and complimentary breakfast the next morning.

Sherry C. has it right...there are at least 11 great reasons this hotel will fit your needs and your budget.

The Walgreen's came in handy across the street for lots of reasons- extra $ and a 5-hour energy to fuel the run.

I'd stay here again. $98 = Large room +2 Queen Size beds + the cost of one car in the secure garage.

We booked this hotel for a quick weekend getaway during Memorial Day weekend. The proximity to favorite local attractions and reasonable price helped to attract us to the Hyatt. Once we arrived we had a seamless check in and were greeted by friendly staff. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and modern in design. The best part though was our great view of the Space Needle!

The two negatives that we discovered were, first, the rooms are not very soundproof (thanks to loud high school students jumping on the bed). The staff were quick to quiet them down when we asked. And the continental breakfast (although tasty) is every man for themselves. It gets crowded down there in the morning and don't expect other guests to wait there turn.

Overall, a good hotel and we would stay again!

We stayed here while in Seattle... Quaint hotel with great customer service.  It's not full scale, there's no room service, you have to go downstairs to the counter to get food.  But no biggie.
The bed and pillows were heaven! Also liked that our room had a couch, livingroom area for the fiance to watch TV while I got ready. It's also right across the street from Walgreens which is great to run across the street and get snacks. We'd def stay again.

Probably the most striking thing to me was the lack of room service. To get food, you had to get dressed, go downstairs, use a kiosk to order, and then wait for your food. I got mine to go because I didn't want to awkwardly eat around strangers in the middle of the night.  It also confused me as to how I was supposed to acquire food, there's a menu inside the guide on the tv, but you cannot order through the tv. There is no paper menu anywhere in the room explaining how to get food, I almost called down to say there was no menu in my room. It was only by chance that I found the menu and instructions to go down to the lobby again, it was so surprising that I thought I was reading it wrong.

When I travel, I expect room service, I didn't know some hotels didn't have room service, especially a hotel like this that is brand new, at this price, and part of a larger chain. When I get into my hotel, I'm tired and do not want to move or even look at another human being. I had to put my stockings and shoes back on to get food, I'd just taken them off!

The room was very clean, spacious and modern, very beautiful with a huge sleeper couch. The lobby was beautiful too, the building is so modern and lovely! The burger I got was all right, pretty much what I expected, needed more salt or something? I really liked the chips. I REALLY liked the peanut butter cookie. Like others, it was hard to tell that I was looking at the front desk and not a cafe (In fact, it's both!).

I also wasn't informed of the complimentary breakfast, or how to use my room key on the elevator door to get up to the room (I was really tired, I think if I had been drunk this hotel would have been impossible for me).

If only this hotel had room service, It would be absolutely perfect!! But the no room service thing is a really big thing for me, I could have stayed at a cheaper hotel (half the price!) that had room service

This is our favorite hotel to stay at in Seattle. The rooms are like high end apartments. Super clean, comfortable, trendy and the bed has some sort of suction quality that doesn't seem to let you wake up. Monster TV and a comfortable couch.

We had booked our trip this weekend for our anniversary and had been looking forward to it for weeks. At the last minute our Greyhound of 14 years fell ill and we had to cancel our reservation. Unfortunately our reservation had a 100% cancellation fee so we would pay even if we didn't stay there. Troy the general manager made an exception for us and refunded our money. Thank you so much Troy for helping us! This is customer service at its best! We will be back very soon!!!

The Hyatt Place brand is a good value. No, make that a great value.

Super clean rooms, luxe beds and linens, big huge flat screen TV, free wi-fi, fridge, single cup coffee maker, complimentary hot breakfast, and best of all, an enormous room. Rooms come with a separate sitting area. Overall, lot of room to spread out.

My only quibble with the Seattle location is that how casual the front desk staff is. When I walked into the lobby, there were three guys in striped shirts and no tie, hanging around a credenza height counter.  None of them were particularly well groomed.  It took me a second or two to realize that this was the registration desk.

Registration went fairly quickly, although no one mentioned the complimentary hot breakfast.  Is that part of the casualness...let your guests figure things out for themselves? Including who is a guest and who is staff?  Not what I'm used at a Hyatt.

This place is in a great location, and the rooms are really nice...aside from the fact that the air conditioning is stuck on full blast and blowing straight on the bed. I had to get creative and put a towel over it with some other stuff on top to keep it in place. Also...its hard to get housekeeping in at a decent hour. I arrived back yesterday at 1:30 and the room hadnt been touched...

Great Hotel!!

Appearance - very Crisp, clean appearance. The front desk just looks very chic and trendy. I would probably raise the countertop a little, since it's at an awkward height, but otherwise everything looks nice. They have lots of comfy chairs and couches for sitting.

Shuttle - the shuttle will take you a mile anywhere, 24 hours a day. Very nice service. You can have them drop you off and then they will pick you up later.

Room - I like that the room has a semi-half bathroom. The sink is outside, so that if you are sharing you can at least wash your hands/brush your teeth while you roommate takes a shower. The rooms are pretty big and they have a big comfy pull-out couch, widescreen tv, refrigerator, etc.

Other - there is a complimentary breakfast every morning. There's a pretty good selection - fresh fruit, cereal, bread and bagels, milk, juice, coffee, tea. Very nice addition to have breakfast included. (And they have regular glasses and plates; so breakfast is very environmentally friendly).

Overall service was great, nice location being a 5 minute walk to the needle, conveniently across from a Walgreens in case you forget something or want a snack, and about a 20 minute walk to the Pier @ Miner's Landing.

I enjoyed my stay!

The interior was great.  Very moderate and uniqe.  Nice spacious lobby.

The pros:

Rooms are clean.
Rooms are very spacious.
Great views.
A very cool elevator.
Shuttle service which drops you off and will pick you up.
Complimentary continental breakfast
Clean fitness center.
Nice, clean pool.
Walking distance to most areas of "must-see" things in Seattle.

The cons:

Although some of the hotel concierge was nice and friendly, there was a select few who, I think, really need some help with customer service.  Or they could use more sleep so they don't wake up so cranky.

A very nice stay otherwise and definitely a place to consider if you're in Seattle.

Decided to try the new "Euro traveler" class hotels suddenly popping up like Holiday Inn Express and Hyatt Place.

Eveything is brand new and clean which is nice. While not a large space it feels larger than it is and is quite comfy. The closet is the only real oddball as I've shown in the pic. You can only access half of it and you can't close the door if you have anything in it. Not a big deal really, just a little quirky.

Comfy bed, great sized shower with a HIGH large shower head. Plenty of water pressure, hot water (and instant heat) too...even on the top floor.

The 42 inch high def flat screen swivels so you can watch from the couch or bed....and probably on purpose, not the desk. Free wi-fi is included and there is a hard connect if you want it. Also included is a nice fridge and single cup coffee maker.

There is room key access only garage parking under the building and you must use a room key to ride the elevator up to any of the guest floors so it's quite secure.

The location is excellent as Belltown and Queen Anne are steps from the door.  They also have a complimentary shuttle around town that can be used when the weather s bad and I know I'm venturing out to tough parking areas.

The one thing lacking that you should know is room service/Concierge/Bellman...there isnt any.  The trade off for this style of hotel so not a big deal.  The staff was very friendly and certainly happy to help in any way

Slight revision -- the staff was again very nice and because of the issues, they gave me a discount on my stay and some additional Hyatt points.  I guess that deserves at least one more star but I would still advise against staying here.  If you're looking for a hotel in the same price range, Hotel Max, Warwick and Four Points are all around the same price range and my experience at those places were certainly better.

I really wanted to like this place because the staff was very nice...that's actually the only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1.  However, I am never going to stay here again.  I'm actually a big fan of Hyatt hotels and usually stay at the Hyatt Olive 8 when I'm in Seattle.  To save a little money, I decided to stay here but man the difference in maybe $40/night is FAR from worth it.  First of all, when I arrived late last night, I was the only person in line and it took forever to check in.  All I wanted to do was go to bed and my room key didn't work.  They wouldn't send someone up with a key so I had schlep my luggage all the way back down to get a key.  I finally got a key that worked and what I walked into was a hot, musty room with a funny smell.  I immediately tried to crank the AC and the thermostat wasn't working.  I called down and the gentleman that came up to fix it was very nice.  He discovered that there were no batteries in my thermostat.  I just wanted to go to bed but I had to wait another 30 minutes for him to come back with replacement batteries. Sadly, that did not fix the issue, the AC itself wasn't working and at that point, I just decided to try to suck it up and go to bed.  The next morning I called down to get it looked at.  Once it was finally fixed, at least the room was cool but it still smelled funny.  I was finally hoping things were on the up and up...only to have a stranger walk into my room.  It turns out the front desk botched both our reservations and issued my room to another guest who then walked in on me.  I'm not sure I can handle another night here... The staff has been really nice and one or two mistakes, I can overlook but a consistent string of issues just leads me to believe this place is just poorly managed.

My boyfriend said he booked this place b/c it's among the top hotels in Seattle.  I can see why.  The hotel is located right in the middle of downtown Seattle, conveniently located closely to everywhere else.  There's a Walgreens right across the street that closes at 10PM.  If that doesn't work, the hotel offers complimentary shuttle service 24/7! QFC is right around the corner that's also 24/7 if needed!

The rooms offer free WiFi and is very spacious for a studio-styled room.  The bed is king sized and the sofa is also a queen sized pull out if needed.  Also, the room has an in-room fridge. My room has the best view of the Space Needle!

Oh yes and breakfast : )

I only got a room here because they said that it provides a shuttle service that runs 24 hours free within a mile. I even called to double check that this was also fine for New Years which is when my stay was.

Then I was told when I got there that the shuttle can take us to the party, just not back due to road blocks. So whatever; we waited about 45 minutes in the lobby as the staff kept telling us to keep waiting because we were next on the list and they were POSITIVE it would be fine. Then the driver arrives and says he was not taking us at all! The hotel really should have told us this sooner. They could have at least dropped us off a little closer to the party so we didn't have to walk the whole way! We got there later than we wanted to plus womans heels and rain :( ugh
It put a damper on our night.

The room was nice though. Well both rooms (my friends and mine) actually smelled bad.

This is the best hotel that I have stayed at in a super long time.  The room had an amazing view of the water and the city.  The rooms were large and the bathroom, forgetaboutit. A deep soaking tub that you find in hotels that are far more expensive.  The staff was great and friendly.  the exercise room is awesome and open 24/7. There is so much good food within walking distance , it is the perfect location.  Tom Douglas' Serious Pie and Dahlia's Lounge is really close.  I would definitely stay here again and is the new bar for business hotel stays.

Hyatt Place is a nice hotel, and the rooms are often a very good value for the size and amenities.  Although it is not located as close to some of the downtown attractions as some other hotels, they have a free shuttle that will drop guests off almost anywhere in the downtown area (Pike Place Market, Pioneer Square, etc.).  This shuttle will also pick guests up if they call the phone number that is given.  The hotel is very close to the Space Needle and some of the rooms have a view of the Space Needle.

Every room I have stayed in at Hyatt Place has had a large King bed with a divider in the room that separates the King bed from the other portion of the room that has a couch that folds out into a bed.  The rooms also had a very large flat screen TV, and all the other amenities most people would expect from a nice hotel.  There is a parking garage on site as well, owned by Hyatt Place.

Whenever I stay overnight in Seattle I either go with Hyatt Place or Hotel Max!  Enjoy!

Our stay with this hotel was a pleasant. The room was spacious with a king bed, pull-out couch, a big 42" LG LCD with an external input connectivities that allows you to hook up ur laptop to watch movies on the big screen, which is the first of its kind that I've seen at a hotel.

The staff was friendly. Parking is under the garage but is somewhat a tight space. Wifi is included.

Highly recommend this hotel to everyone. We definitely will stay here again.

If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel in downtown Seattle that is nicely appointed and features great amenities, the Hyatt Place Seattle is a great option that you should take advantage of.  The Hyatt Place is not a property for the pampered traveler, but rather one who likes to pick and choose what they want to  do. That being said, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

The property is conveniently located off Denny (although beware of rush hour traffic in the area) and is near to the Seattle Center, downtown retail core, and the South Lake Union area give it an extra star. The rooms are nicely appointed and feature extremely comfortable beds and a large LCD tv. The layout is rather innovative and feature a semi-separate seating area, a nice office area and an in-room refridgerator. A  microwave is available downstairs in the lobby if you need it.

The common areas feature a nice saline pool, a decent workout area, as well as a comfortable lobby that features a complimentary business center. There is also the 24 hour cafe that features your standard american fare that doesn't wow, but at the same time doesn't disappoint.

The staff were pleasant and helpful, however as with any new property were still learning the in/out of things.

Parking is convenient in the basement for $10/day and they also feature free wi-fi which is a nice added plus.

All told, the hotel is a great addition to the Seattle scene, and considering I usually stay at the Grand Hyatt or Olive8, I think I may seriously start staying at the Hyatt Place for half the price!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here! Every single staff member was super friendly and seemed genuinely interested in answering our questions or helping us out whatever way possible. The building looks just slightly sketchy from the outside though only at night but is actually very new on the inside. Plus, it was in a great location--very walkable to Pike's Place Market and the downtown shopping district. Their free shuttle service was really great.. our driver, Marina, took time to offer her recommendations around the area and chat with us while dropping us off.

Room was spacious with a comfy couch and ottoman.. bed was comfy too! I liked how the flat screen TV swiveled and that there was a little kitchenette counter (no stove) with a mini fridge. Basically the room was very clean and seemed pretty new! Housekeeping was great and took the time to lay out my cosmetics (that I had thrown in a pile on the counter) neatly on a towel. Breakfast was nice.. the way it's set up felt like we were in a communal, homey kitchen. Coffee and hot water was always fully in stock, which may not seem like a big deal but I can't tell you how many other hotels always disappoint me in that arena.

Overall, for the price you're paying per night, this place is an absolute steal!! No, it's not fancy with bellboys and room service, but just perfect for a casual, no-fuss stay! :)

I loved this hotel!  Allow me to elaborate in bullet form, and in chronological order as experienced:

- You can immediately see the top of the Space Needle upon arrival.  Just stand outside and you can see it in clear, unobstructed view.

-  There is a Walgreens literally across the street.  So close, as in, j-walkable close (and the non-offending kind, at that).  This comes in very handy when you have five girls visiting from out of town and they happen to run into an Aunt Flo emergency.  And a chipped manicure emergency.  And an Emergen-C emergency.

- The first thing you see when you enter the lobby is a case of pastries and a drink menu, much like a coffee shop. How thoughtful.

- The interior is cleanly-designed with modern touches.

- The front-desk is friendly and was ready to orient us around the city.

- The rooms were pristine, and spacious enough to comfortable house two queen beds, a sofa bed, a flat screen TV, a mini fridge (later used to contain all our procured smoked salmon), all five of us and our luggage for 5 days.  We didn't kill each other from claustrophobia and that is always nice.

- The Seattle Center/Space Needle, Experience Music Project/Science Fiction Museum, and the monorail to the retail epicenter of Downtown Seattle are all within a quick, 5-minute walk of the hotel.

- FREE shuttle service anywhere within a 1-mile radius of the hotel, available 24 hours a day.  You would not believe how many times we took advantage of this and how much money we saved by not taking cabs.  If you're staying at this hotel, you can easily reach many of the city's most popular spots just by taking this shuttle (including Belltown nightlife, that one pink elephant car wash, Kerry Park, Post Alley and Pike Place).

- Daily complimentary continental breakfast consisting of Tazo tea, coffee, fresh fruit, cereal, bagels, muffins, toast, etc.

- No hassle check-out.

There.  Ten reasons why I loved this hotel and would recommend it over and over to anyone planning a visit to Seattle.

Although the front feels very college dorm, complete with communal kitchen, the staff is all hotel. They not only check you in, they drive the complimentary shuttle, they're the barista in the morning and the bartender at night. They wear many hats and they wear them well!

The look of the hotel is pretty modern for Seattle and it rests just on the outskirts of Downtown (closer to Seattle Center) so you get to see the needle from morning to night, but you will do a little extra walking staying here than in the heart of Downtown.

Great hotel!  Walking distance to the Space Needle, monorail and many great restaurants.

Rooms are clean
Rooms are spacious.  I like the separate living space from the actual bed.
Great view of the Space Needle (without even requesting it! Score!)
Quiet.  I wondered if they had any other guests at times.
Computers in the lobby available if you need to check in for your flight and free printing
Walking distance from Seattle hot spots
Parking garage available (for $15... not bad for a Seattle hotel)

Hotel concierge wasn't helpful when we were looking for the hotel for the first time.  A truck was parked out in front so we missed the sign.  We parked literally a block away to call the hotel and the girl couldn't describe the hotel nor direct us to the end of the block.

Some may like it but I don't like the sink being outside of the actual bathroom.  It's noisy.  Doesn't help when your significant other is still sleeping and you want to get up and get dressed.

If you want to go to Pike Place Market, take the monorail (by the Space Needle) for $2 each way and it's half a mile walk from the monorail stop to the market.  It beats the $20 parking fees for only couple of hours.

I didn't read about the shuttle service before my trip but that would be a great perk.

As much as this place was nice, clean, neat, presentable and I didn't have a bad time here, there's something about the setup of the rooms and the actual cost (which I didn't pay since I received a nice discount elsewhere) that makes this not exactly my recommendation when staying in downtown Seattle.

The rooms are nice and big with large couches but the bathroom is small and the room is separated by this oddly half barrier ... thing. The beds were comfortable and the pillows were aplenty but ... again something awfully weird about being in this setup.

Generally speaking, Hyatt's are very nice. The front desk staff is always extra extra friendly, the free morning breakfast is nice, the teas and coffees and apples in the lobby are pleasant, but the whole place made me feel like I was walking into a condo complex. Maybe that was the way it was designed to feel.

Free internet is a huge plus, and they have this crazy TV setup where you can connect just about anything to the TV to utilize it for your own purposes such as movie watching and other things at your leisure. If you can get this place on the cheap, it's TOTALLY worth your money.

The best part? They have a free shuttle! It goes within a mile of the property (or so, they don't really enforce this so sometimes 1.2 or 1.4 mile is ok too) and it is 24/7. This came in ULTRA handy when the rain and the wind hit hard in Seattle and I really didn't feel like making the 1 mile trek.

The location is further away from downtown, but not that much closert o Queen Anne, kind of awkward, but either way it was a good stay.

Stayed here while looking for a place for my move to Seattle.  It's pretty walkable to most of Belltown and even Downtown if you feel like a nice walk.

Parking is somewhere around $20 a day and the spaces are tiny.  I got a nice little chunk of paint scraped off my front bumper by someone in the garage (I am assuming this because I backed into the spaces and didn't really park in any other congested areas).  Unfortunately I didn't notice until I was back in Southern California.  They also offer shuttle rides within a mile.

Wi-Fi was free which is always a plus.

I didn't have a view really on the 6th floor, but the room was pretty decent.  Nice large TV and an office area, which wasn't needed, but made the room feel larger.  They also have a small gym and a pool which was always occupied by small kids.

Overall a pretty decent stay, but the pricing is a little too close to more botique hotels like Hotel Max which are Downtown.  The room was certainly bigger than the smaller hotels, but was missing some things which are nice to have such as a bath tub.  Such a massive room should have a tub in addition to the shower.

Sadly there isn't a 6th or even 7th star. I don't know what else you can expect from a hotel. I've read most of the other 45 (to this point) reviews, and the 5 star reviews are spot on. Genuinely friendly and concerned staff. Check. View of the Space Needle (a short walk). Check. A separate area for sleeping divided from sitting TV area (very, very important to me as my wife and I have different bedtimes). Check. Huge flat screen TV with auxiliary panel. Check. Separate sink from toilet. Check. Free shuttle service w/in one mile (which they stretch). Check. Pristine, clean, well-appointed. Check. Large room (my son, traveling with us stayed at the Sheraton which had much smaller rooms). Check. Free breakfast (yummy breakfast sandwiches). Check. Secure. Room key needed to operate elevators. Check. Free newspaper to your door. Check.  You get the picture. I could go on, but I won't.

So, how about some negatives? Tough call but here goes.

-No bathtub. The first complaint my daughter-in law had when she visited. Shower is huge, tiled and rain shower type head. Excellent for our needs.

-No hotel bar, per se. You sit at a lunch counter type place right next to check in.

-No help with luggage from curb to door. No bell service but once inside will assist   you to your room. (This is my only, truly serious complaint). The staff watched from inside as my wife and I struggled with our luggage. We're not that young anymore.

-Heater/AC (and we had some rare warm days during our stay) is a wall unit, though thermostatically controlled. Unlike most units, it was very quiet.

-Not really as "close" to shopping as some reviews indicate. Walgreen's is across the street for the men's type of "shopping." They have beer and wine to go with the obligatory  smoked fish you will be storing in the room fridge.

Though not part of the review here are a couple of things to see that aren't in the tourist guides. The Ballard section of town. The added bonus for me was that the "Deadliest Catch boats" are moored there in the summer. I would also highly recommend the tour of the Boeing plant. It's not close. It's in Everett, so you'll need a car. As far as eating, you can't really go wrong. In this highly competitive environment, the bad restaurants failed a long time ago. We ate at the Crab Pot, which was fantastic and very near the restaurant was a HUGE Ferris wheel under construction (like the one I saw on the Navy Pier in Chicago, or the one in Santa Monica, CA.

I might add that the room rate was at least $50 cheaper than comparable hotels.

My friend and I decided to do a quick weekend trip to take in a concert and an art exhibit.  We chose to stay here due to location and reviews.

I would like to state that I'm a huge germ-a-phobe and dread staying at hotels that I've never stayed been to before.  I was amazed how immaculate this place was.  I couldn't find a spec of dust anywhere, and trust me I looked.  The room was also very large and had a comfy King bed that I wanted to take home with me.  None of the furnishings look dated or man-handled, which should be expected of hotels in the price range.  The room also has free WiFi, if you need to connect your laptop.

The service was very hospitable from the cleaning staff to the hostess.  It seems that most hotels that I've been to always have someone that doesn't seem too happy milling around, but I didn't see that once during our stay.

They also supply a free shuttle within a mile radius of the hotel (24hrs), which is a huge bonus, since the majority of "touristy" stuff that one would want to see or experience is within the area.  We had two drivers during our evening outing.  Our first driver , Guillermo, was so sweet and knowledgeable and is great asset to this hotel!

The only downside that I experienced here was the price of their coffee ($4 for an Americano....please!), but that's when you just go for a short walk to experience true Seattle coffee.  All in all I would definitely stay here again.  It's a great, clean, large room for the price and in a great location.

I stayed here for 5 nights in May for a conference at the convention center. They offered free shuttles to and from the convention center, but you can definitely walk there (I did several times). Not the shortest walk, but you get to take in more of the city.

The outside of the hotel was clean, the inside was clean, and the rooms were clean and spacious. Free WiFi and free breakfast are always a plus. Their "Hyatt Plug" is pretty darn cool. You can easily connect to the TV via RCA or HDMI cable.
Free wifi + easy HDMI connection to their TV + Laptop + Netflix account (my own) == fantastic

Right across the street from a CVS, good place to buy chips / soda / etc. The hotel also provides a mini fridge in the room so I was able to keep my soda nice and cool.

This was my first time in Seattle and this hotel was close to several places to eat, all within walking distance (again, their shuttle service is free and will drop you off within a 1 mile radius). Also very close to the Space Needle.

Getting to the Woodland Park Zoo (definitely recommend you visit) was a breeze. About a 1 minute walk to the bus stop.

The place was quiet and the staff was fantastic. Definitely a family friendly hotel (I did see plenty of kids). I would definitely recommend staying here.

From my own personal experience with this hotel's customer service:
I had booked a room at this place using Hyatt's 1-800 number. Since I was staying for a conference I booked at a discounted rate. I received a call a day later from this Hyatt saying they had no more rooms at that rate and that the booking people shouldn't have given me the room. I calmly said "Alright, thank you for letting me know." I was so calm about it I swear I surprised the person calling from the hotel.
The following day I received an email from this Hyatt saying in short "thank you for your understanding and sorry for the inconvenience. We will honor your original reservation."

I can understand a miscommunication between Hyatt's 1-800 booking service and the actual hotel itself. I appreciate that they cleared it up quickly and were able to keep my reservation.

I LOVE THIS HOTEL! This is my second time staying here and the service was fantastic.

I had a surprise birthday planned for my boyfriend in Seattle and Dan at the front desk was amazing helping us out and keeping everything a secret. He even gave us a complimentary bottle of chardonnay for my boyfriend's birthday! The whole time while I was waiting for our friends to show up he was helping me out and saying how awesome I was planning this trip for him.

Their room was huge and spacious except we had a little bit of an issue with the toilet which was taken care of right away.

They also offer a 24 hour shuttle which we didnt end up using and also free wifi.

The free breakfast is awesome. (except I missed it this time but I had it the first time I stay here)

I would love to stay here again when I go back to Seattle for a weekend trip!

Overall, we were very happy with this hotel and would likely stay here again.

This hotel is located just a couple blocks from the EMP Museum, Seattle Space Needle and Pacific Science Center. It is about 10 or so blocks...maybe more, to the Public Market Place. It was a nice walk though.

The Hotel provides secure, gated parking underground. The hotel also provides secure floors to prevent people without rooms from getting on any floor. You have to use your room key to move the elevator. I really liked this about the Hyatt Place.

The rooms were very nice and spacious. There were two queen sized beds in our room, with a hide a bed under the sofa. The sofa was not comfortable, and kinda dingy looking. But not a huge big deal, or I would have requested a different room. The beds were comfy, as were the pillows. Sheets and comforter appeared and smelled clean. Towels were soft and white..not rough or stained. Carpets were clean. Glasses, and ice bucket were clean as was everything in the bathroom and living area.

The intake vent above the toilet was caked in dust. That really needs to be vacuumed. There was no safe in the room, which is a nice feature to have. However, the high tech input/output panel for the TV made up for this. We were able to hook our phones up to the TV and play videos for the kids. There was also free WiFi available.

The food served here for room service was good. My only complaint about this is that it was all provided to me in cardboard boxes. The food, literally just thrown right in the box...on the cardboard. Do you get what I mean? That was kinda gross and a bit of a disappointment with a place like this. Personally, at a nice hotel such as this, I feel like you should be serving the food on plates. Glass plates are fine, but other materials would also be okay. Serve it with REAL metal silverware, not plastic. And offer the option of having it delivered to the room...which as of now, they do not. You have to pick it up downstairs yourself. This isn't a deal breaker, it was just a little unprofessional for an upscale hotel. But, the food, like I said, was good, so thank you!

Breakfast was buffet style. It was all good food, and what you'd expect to see at a buffet style breakfast in a hotel. Nothing fancy. They might want to look into providing something a little more unique for their breakfast options to attract repeat customers.

Check out was a breeze. The staff was all friendly. Again, we would stay here again.

To top it all off, during our visit, Keith Morrison from Dateline NBC was checking in. Hey, must be a nice place if a reporter is staying there....right?

Horrible- They messed up my reservation and I even had a printed confirmation. They just said there was nothing they could do. They were rude and unapologetic. I am a Hyatt Gold member and thought this was the worst Hyatt and service was unacceptable. The sleeper sofas are uncomfortable- you can feel every spring. There are no bath tubs and no hot tub. The free breakfast is cheap and the location is annoying to go in & out of downtown on the monorail- gets expensive. Not worth it

I came to Seattle for a brief holiday with my family. I chose Hyatt Place mainly for three reasons: Location (near Seattle Center), the swimming pool (for the kids), and the price (pretty inexpensive: $129 per night, plus $22 in taxes). So I didn't have super high expectations for the place, but I thought it would be fine.

We ended up having a superlative experience at the hotel. The rooms were really large and comfortable, which is unusual for our family of five. There were two double beds plus a convertible couch. We all slept like rocks. The free breakfast was phenomenal, with a wide selection of hot foods (eggs, sausage, breakfast sandwiches, steel-cut oatmeal), fruits, yogurts and cottage cheese, good coffee and several choices of Tazo teas, chilled juices, various types of breads, muffins, donuts, croissants, bagels. The included breakfast was a lot like the spreads I've seen in international hotels overseas.

The swimming pool proved to be a real winner. Long enough for decent laps, very warm, very clean, and not too deep for our 7-year old. The fitness center was nice too, though a bit crowded during the busy early morning hours.

I also appreciated what was included and gratis, like WiFi (a bit slow, but functional), a range of small travel necessities, daily paper, etc. But the biggest bonus was the free van service that we used for many trips within a mile from the hotel (both pick up and drop off). It enabled us to avoid renting a car, which was a huge relief and savings.

Finally, we were really impressed with the hotel staff. They were all really courteous, friendly, and helpful, from the front desk staff to the folks who were cleaning the elevators, rooms, and dining area.

I've never stayed in a Hyatt Place hotel before. I looked it up on Wikipedia and saw that it's Hyatt's attempt at catering to families and business people. I'd say they have a winning formula and I will look for Hyatt Place hotels when I travel in the future.

I attempted to book this hotel for a large conference downtown Seattle. The conference's housing department website did not show any openings, but I called the hotel directly to see if I could get a room. They gave me one, and when I mentioned I'd be with the conference, they gave me the conference rate.

Then they called and left a message a few weeks later to tell me that since I didn't book the room through the conference website, they're canceling my reservation and forwarding my "information" to the conference housing department. I was not given the option to pay more to keep my room, and I was never contacted by the conference housing department or followed up with by anyone. They gave me the room, so they should have honored that!!

I found a hotel room at The Mayflower Park Hotel instead (which is closer to the convention center).

When I got back from the conference, I found a $160 "no show" fee on my credit card! I called them and they said they'd refund it. Two weeks later, no refund. I call them back, and they said to contact my credit card company. Basically, I did all this so the hotel could keep the money--my credit card company just forked over the dough after I filled out a dispute charge form online.

I feel as though they knew the whole time that the plan was to A) charge me a no-show fee and hope I didn't notice or B) if I did try to get my money back, they'd pass the buck to the credit card company by saying that "they refunded me" but intended basically to do nothing.

I've stayed here a couple of times when visiting friends and have only had positive experiences.  The rooms are quite large in comparison to other similar quality hotels in Seattle, and they are well furnished with a sitting area and large sofa standard in the rooms.  There is quite a bit of space to entertain guests in your room while staying at the hotel, and I was very surprised how little noise travels through the walls.  The TV has hook-ups for laptop, auxiliary audio, etc, so you can play your own music or movies through the TV speakers.  The hotel has free Wi-Fi which was reasonably fast and stable in my experience.

Hotel staff are quite pleasant and helpful.  The front desk has introduced themselves by name and given their business card each time I've checked in, and have been happy to provide help and local advice through my stays.   They've been a great help in getting taxis more quickly than I've been able to reach on my own, or in helping to arrange airport transportation.

It is not as "hip" as the downtown hotels, but is better furnished and has much more space.   The location is excellent for the price and would be a great choice for events or meetings near Seattle Center.  This has become my top choice for stays in this area of Seattle.

This hotel has a great location. You can walk everywhere. The staff was fantastic. The breakfasts every morning were fine. The room we stayed in was excellent. We had a good sized sitting area, a view of the Space Needle, and a lovely, comfortable king sized bed. The parking underneath the hotel is very convenient (as is the Walgren's across the street which is open late, in case you forgot anything). The free wi-fi signal all over the hotel was strong. We did not use the gym, pool, or shuttle. But what we did experience was a great value. We will happily stay here again.

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at! It is located in the heart of downtown Seattle and basically minutes away from most of the touristy places!

* Interior is chic, modern and clean

* Rooms were very spacious with a prominent view of the Space Needle. Beds were comfy, and we had a huge L-shaped couch.

* Bathroom was small, and dimly lit. The vanity area/sink/mirror is separated from the bathroom, which probably explains why. However, it proved useful when sharing a room with four other girls. While one person is doing their business, someone else can brush their teeth, fix hair, stare into the mirror, etc. I'm glad we never had an issue with the toilet, and someone was smart enough to bring bathroom sprays. Lol. There were times when the bathroom was occupied and someone else needed to use it. Luckily, the lobby bathroom wasn't a hassle to get to... but that leads me to another thing.

* Always carry your room key card! Elevators require it in order to operate, otherwise you are just going to stand there.

* Huge flat screen TV. I don't know what possessed us, but we ordered the movie Monte Carlo starring Selena Gomez. And on a Friday night. And most of us already saw the movie already. That's how we roll. Lol.

* Alarm clock radio with iPod/MP3 connectivity.

* Mini-Fridge - Wish it were a little bigger. Endless amount of drinks + a gazillion pounds of smoked salmon. We really compacted that thing.

* Free Wi-Fi

* Complimentary breakfast. Food was pretty standard  - cereals, oatmeal, bagels, pastries, fruit and so on. They had an assortment of Tazo teas and coffees, which was nice. If you wanted eggs, bacon or anything else, you would have to purchase it.

* Walgreens! Not that I'm a huge Walgreens fan, nor is Walgreen a touristy place but it's conveniently located across the street from the hotel. If you forgot anything, it's okay. :)

* And last but not least, FREE 24/7 pick up/drop off shuttle service within one-mile radius from the hotel. We relied heavily on the shuttle service. Granted we did use the cab once, but overall we saved a ton on transportation. Nearby, there's the iconic Elephant Car Wash. Supposedly, it was the first automatic car wash. Anyway, we tried convince the driver to wash the shuttle... but he declined. How can you experience a car-wash without a car? Lol. Overall, the drivers were nice.

In conclusion, I would absolutely recommend this hotel. If given the opportunity, I would stay there again. :)

One of the clerks, Kenn, single handedly saved Hyatt Place from a much lower rating. He went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable.

My (soon to be) wife, wedding party, and I all stayed at this hotel in the days leading up to our wedding. It was, in most respects, your average "good" hotel. Kenn made several accommodations (such as letting us use an empty meeting room to let us practice our first dance) that I would say made for "great" service.

However, on our first night, a member of my wedding party pulled out the couch to sleep on...but it reeked of fish. I mean bad. It was tough to be in the room. We pulled off the bedding and put it in the hallway, then folded the couch back in and he slept on it as a couch rather than a bed.

The next day, we informed the hotel staff of the smell, and they offered to put us in another room. The problem is, they put us in a worse room. It had one small window rather than three, and while I'm not sure of the square footage of each room, the second one definitely seemed smaller. Having to pack up and switch rooms in the midst of rushing around preparing for weddings was bad enough. Doing so only to end up in a worse situation was very unfortunate to say the least.

Friends from two other rooms also complained about their rooms smelling musty, and my bride's room definitely did as well.

Everything else was what you would expect from a hotel that costs $150-$200 a night: the rooms were modern, the breakfast was fine to good, the location was excellent.

So, it seems like if they did a better job at laundry, the place would be great. And I was also disappointed in the service by a couple staff members. But like I said, Kenn went above and beyond to make it so my experience was average.

My fiance booked this hotel through priceline so we got the room at a very reasonable price.

This was located in downtown Seattle, very close to Space Needle; we could see Space Needle from our hotel room.

They have a parking garage but we had to pay extra for it; can't remember how much we paid though, it was pretty pricey.

Customer service wise, pretty good, not like amazed by their service but didn't leave me a bad impression.

The room was very comfy! It made my night very relaxed; highly recommend this hotel for everyone who wants a luxury-like room at a reasonable price in the area.

They provide free wi-fi!

So many things to love about this hotel. It was my first stay at a Hyatt, but I've stayed at some other comparable ones.

Location: Just a few blocks from the City Center (aka Space Needle) and a few short blocks from Belltown (great for dinner and drinks).

Staff: Very friendly and helpful. When we found out that our choice of restaurant wasn't within the 1 mile radius that the complimentary shuttle drives, they lady suggested another one of the chef's restaurants that was closer.

Amenities: Free breakfast in the morning (coffee, milk, juice, single serving cereal selection, bagels, toast, fresh cut fruit, cottage cheese, yogurt, breakfast sandwiches, and assorted pastries). A small, but well equipped gym with just the basics. An indoor pool (but it closes fairly early -- at 10pm, I believe). Free shuttle within a 1 mile radius. Free wifi internet.

Rooms: We had a two queen bed room that was fairly decent in size. It was divided by a partition and the other side had a nice, large couch that was super comfortable for cuddling up in front of the flat screen TV. There was also room for a desk and little counter area. The bathroom was a tad on the small side, but served it's purpose.

I was definitely pleased with this hotel and would consider it again if I were to return!

NOTE: I'm not sure how much this room would normally cost because I lucked out that my friend had enough points to stay for free!

We stayed here for the weekend as an anniversary celebration. The room was fantastic. There was a large L shaped sofa (with a hide a bed) that had a rolling ottoman opposite the king sized bed. A large flat screen TV was on a swivel between the two, so watching the Olympics from either the sofa or the bed was comfy. Better yet the remote had an easy to use sleep timer - a rare and wonderful feature!
The hotel has a free shuttle that will take you to and from any destination within a 1 mile radius of the hotel. This covers nearly all downtown restaurants, the space needle, Pike Place Market, the Pacific Science Center, and great shopping. We didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes for the shuttle any time we called. It was fantastic.
The complimentary breakfast is one of the best I've ever had. Several hot selections that were interesting: bagel with ham, egg, tomato and spicy sauce; potato roll with ham, egg, and cheese; french toast; plus all the usual continental breakfast things you usually see.
The staff were all friendly and helpful.
My only criticism would be that there are only 2 elevators and sometimes they run a little slow. Also the staff got a little overwhelmed during breakfast service. But it was still yummy.

I have been a BIG fan of Hyatt Hotels since a project I had in San Diego required me to stay at the Grand Hyatt in La Jolla. Trust me, I had no desire to stay there since I had absolutely no status with them (although I did with almost every other large chain)! Regardless; 4 years later and 3 years of Diamond status, there is no better hotel chain for me.

The Hyatt Place brand is a very user friendly one and I have stayed at my share. This one here in Seattle though is definitely my favorite! The staff are fabulous, the rooms very clean and comfortable, the location is perfect and the views of the Space Needle are great from the view rooms. They have a very nice breakfast; more food than I have seen at other hotel's where the breakfast is included in the room rate (they always have 2 different types of breakfast sandwiches and steel cut oatmeal). The restaurant/bar at night are reasonable and comfortable. In fact; I love this place so much that I am opting to stay here for the rest of my project here in Seattle (through the end of the year).

Also; Lisa at the front desk is a gem! This week was only my second one here and she remembered me from last week and greeted me by name. She was wonderful during my stay last week and I noticed that she treats all of her guests superbly!

We loved this hotel.  Might be our favorite of all times.  The room was modern and bright.  The bed and the TV are huge.  Desk chair is adjustable, the light in the bathroom is good for shaving and the Wifi is free (but not the fastest.)  The location is great -- close to Seattle Center (a.k.a. the Space Needle) and downtown.

The Hyatt van that will take you anywhere within a mile radius (i.e. Pike Place Market and the ferry terminals).

Did I mention breakfast?  the "free" breakfast (of course it's included in the price of the room) is terrific.  Standard breakfast foods plus some hot items in a bright, cheery cafe off the lobby.  Big tables encourage sitting with strangers.  Nice.

The lobby is modern and pleasant.

Every single staff member we encountered from the front desk, to the lady cleaning the cafe, to the room maids were super pleasant and outgoing.

If we return to Seattle we'd stay again at Hyatt Place and we'll look for Hyatt Place hotels in other locations.

The only note of caution is that the streets in the neighborhood around the hotel were torn up for a construction project in late August  As a result, street parking was almost impossible.

Our stay at the Hyatt Place Downtown was superb.
1. We payed an excellence price with our AAA discount.
2. Flying into SEATAC we took the train, which was 2.75 per adult, and we exited at Westlake where the hotels free shuttle picked us up.
3. Checking in and out was simple.
4. We stayed in a standard one king bed room and it was comfortable for 2 adults and 1 teenager. Shower was clean and big, tv was great and the fridge helps out for long stays.
5. The pool was the ONLY thing negative. The water was muggy and smelled.
6. Complimentary breakfast was great, perfect spread with just enough to get your day started.
7. Shuttle was by far the best bet!!
8. Across the street is a friendly Walgreens. A couple blocks away is a McDonald's. The Space Needle, Science Center and EMP museum are all within a five minute walk away. And although we didn't walk to downtown the walk looks great to do with warmer weather than when we went. :)

Overall, from the phone staff, live staff, rooms, food and shuttle...amazing!! I wish there were more Hyatt Place's just like this one around!!
God bless you guys!

Pros: Staff is very friendly, shuttle around the city, close to Space Needle, price, room size, breakfast, free wifi, modern updates, fitness center, they have infant/toddler pack-n-plays.

Cons: AC/Heater/fan is right next to the bed and isn't whisper quiet. If you are a light sleeper you will likely get woken up when it turns on. Our room did not have a bath tub. Bed was pillow-top ( which we don't like - but that's a preference).

Verdict: For the price and all you get, it gets 5-stars for the value. We'd definitely stay here again.

This rating is not based on the hotel, just based on the customer service I received. We looked at our bank statement, surprised to see a charge from this hotel there. I call and a gentleman by the name of "Ben" greets me as mrs ___my bf last name. I tell him I'm not mrs ___ but calling because of a charge we see. We 3 way called because he wasn't home. The gentleman confirms that the name and card match, says it was booked December 14th.. Were like dec 14..?? 2013?? He says no 2014. We say huh? He then says "oops I mean October 28th, 2014." I ask him "how was this made?" He says "possibly thru costco, you have the special costco rate.." I ask if he can give anymore info because we did not make this reservation. He said no, but he would transfer me to the central reservation center who can give me more detailed information, but since the information matches, he's not going to refund it. Um ok a**hole. Well we talk to the central reservation center who says "not sure why he told you that, he has all of the information there, let me transfer you back". A gentleman named Eunice answers and right away refers to me as "mrs mock" obviously my phone number is some how linked to all of this which makes no sense. I tell him again, I'm not Mrs Mock. I ask to be transferred back to Ben, he puts me on hold and sends me to voicemail. I call back- at this point VERY frustrated but still keeping calm. Eunice answers again and I tell him he sent me to voicemail. He said Ben stepped out. Ummmm right. What poor customer service. Puts me on hold for 5 minutes and Ben finally answers. We go over everything. Ben then changes the reservation date for the 3rd time saying it was made back in April 2014. What?! From December, to October to April? Which one is it?!! He said the reservation was made via the telephone by a Mrs, under my BF name and credit card. How can a hotel let someone make a reservation under someone else's name using someone else's card?? He said his name is unisex. WTf, Scott is a unisex name? There is no Mrs. I again tell him we didn't make this reservation so what next. He says "I'm being honest I'm not going to reverse this". We didn't make this reservation and trying to get Information about everything was ridiculous. We hung up and he left it at I can talk to my bank. We travel, A LOT. I am left with a disgusted taste. We love hyatt, but will never stay in another one again after how poorly this was handled. The two gentleman we spoke to sounded like they just graduated highschool and I could hear them snickering. Very unprofessional. Beware. I can find your card, say I'm your wife and make reservations anywhere and you will be left with the "no show" charge. Best of all, where was this confirmation email?? He said "it's marked that you requested no confirmation emails" right. How convenient. I will be writing a bunch of letters because this is unacceptable for a hotel such as the hyatt to let their employees handle business.

This is the perfect hotel for the business traveler.  It is a bit off the main downtown area (about a mile away from Pine/Pike streets), but either you can take the 24 hour van shuttle that is provided (and the shuttle is very accessible and accommodating) to and from wherever you are in downtown; take a nice brisk walk; or take the free Seattle transit bus (free within the downtown area).  I love downtown Seattle - it is so people friendly!  This is bizarre for someone like me who grew up in L.A. where downtown was a place to work, then at around 6pm, everyone split and it became a ghost town.

My standard room was actually a two-room suite, immaculate, modern decor and with a huge flat screen TV.  There is also a clean, small gym downstairs and an indoor pool that's open until 10pm.  Also free: continental breakfast, access to two computers (free printing too) at the business center, as well as multiple signal Wifi in your room.  Finally, if you need some groceries or extra toiletries you forgot on the flight, there is a Walgreens open until 10pm directly across the street.

Pretty much this place had all the elements of what I look for in a hotel when I am on business.  Oh, when you go outside the front door, there is also a very nice view of the Space Needle.  This place is the best!

I was there last week, couldn't find a single available room at a downtown hotel because of a specialty coffee convention (because, Seattle). When I booked at Hyatt Place, i was thinking, aw dang i'm going to have to spend a small fortune on cab fare. NOPE! Free shuttle service to and from downtown. That means i can meet with clients and networking contacts, get my martinis on, and later call Hyatt Place for a shuttle. Seriously, it was like having your personal driver!

I booked a standard room with a kickass view of the Space Needle, and this was the best layout for a standard room that I have ever seen. Everything was so strategically laid out, including the partial wall of dark wood and rice paper, that it looked and felt roomy. i could walk around comfortably without having to carefully maneuver around anything. And everything was spotless. The bed...ohhhh the bed was soooo comfortable...I was well rested for my meeting the next morning.

FREE BREAKFAST! And by breakfast, I mean, eggs, sausage, french toast, array of juices, array of breads, condiments for your mueslix or oatmeal, etc etc. and you can breakfast comfortably in two bright, cheerful rooms with lots of natural light instead of crammed into one harshly lit room, like at other hotel breakfast nooks i've been at.

Lobby and other areas have nice, modern clean design. Staff was friendly and helpful. Never once saw any of them get frustrated with all the guests needing assistance, while i waited for the shuttle.

FREE WIFI in your hotel room!

And yes, I would totally book here again.

A very comfortable stay with excellent customer service. Great location.

We stayed here for four nights while in the process of moving from Vancouver to the eastern US. Instead of rolling their eyes at us when we wheeled in three huge carts worth of our stuff that we were moving/having shipped, they greeted us kindly and asked how they could help. Check-in was simple. Free wifi, but parking was additional.

Kudos to the extremely kind and hard working guy named Dan who checked us in, held the elevators for us and even greeted us with a hand written note to welcome us to our room. He was very kind throughout our stay. That guy deserves a raise!

The lobby was spacious and clean as was our room. Plush, comfortable bedding. Large flat screen, lots of seating, a nice desk and a nice bathroom with modern fixtures. Despite our room being filled to the brim with ALL of our stuff, room service did a great job of keeping it tidy.

Fitness room was a little sparse with treadmills, dumbbells, one bench and a bike. Sparse but adequate to get in a workout if you have an imagination. The pool chemicals were very harsh. Hurt our eyes and dyed our bathing suits. Those are my only two nit picking criticisms and they were minor ones.

Breakfast was served off the side of the lobby. Ample seating. Lots to choose  from: fresh fruit, yogurts, bagels and breads, pastries, cereals, oatmeal and eggs. Lots of drinks to choose from and two tables in the lobby filled with coffees and teas.

Located within walking distance to lots of restaurants, the Space Needle and the Pac Science Center. Easy to find because it's close to the pink elephant car wash sign.

Overall, a very comfortable stay with friendly staff.

Loved this hotel! Affordable (a tad higher than the lower end hotel chains but along the same lines as the Hilton Garden inns), very clean, simple and clean lines to the decor. Service was great and the beds were comfortable. No strange odors and it looked apparent that the room was checked and cleaned. It is close to many restaurants and sights to see.  Free WiFi and shuttle. Also, free amenities such as available computers and printers and a fitness center.  I highly recommend this hotel :)

If you park in the wrong designated spot, their parking garage security company will stick a huge green sticker that's impossible to remove by simply peeling it off. I live next door and share parking with the hotel.  We were told to mark on any unmarked spots.

Spoke with the ass manager at the hotel and he told me to use a razor blade to remove it. Yeah right. Good luck having that fly with any of your customers.  Gonna return my rental soon and have the car rental company deal with the hotel and security company.

No one should be putting inconvenient stickers on anyone else's belongings. That is ruining someone else's property.

The sticker also does not state who issued the sticker so I'm on a goose chase trying to figure out the genius who chose to use these stickers.  If it were my actual car I would be livid and the end result would not be as forgiving.

This hotel was weird because it was missing a lot of the amenities I've gotten used to... valet parking, room service, and a few other (completely unnecessary) things. The good news? All the necessities were there, and they were wonderful.

The price was right, the room was gorgeous, it was easy to get around the city from the location, and the staff was touch notch - really, the best part was the excellent customer service. Ken the night manager from Memphis was so welcoming, friendly, and helpful that it really did improve my stay.

The breakfast was good too - a little better than average and much better than the average continental breakfast. Free Wifi was a good and modern touch.

My one complaint was the ridiculous parking... I had to 5 point turn in and out of the spaces in my tiny rental car. But then I found that all of Seattle's parking garages were designed the same ridiculous way so I can't hold it against the Hyatt.

Will DEFINITELY be staying here during my next trip to Seattle!

I just LOVE this Hyatt! It was in a decent part of town with some places to eat within walking distance. Within walking distance you can go to the space needle or Seattle Center. The staff was just wonderful! Very sweet with lots of friendly information. The lobby was very nice. Plenty of seating areas to sit and relax. We had a 2 Queen bed room with a huge comfy sofa that could pull out into a sofa. The tv swiveled so you can watch it on the bed or on the couch. The pool was great! It was heated salt water, but only went to 4ft, so that was a bummer... but it's perfect for kids. They have a shuttle that can take you around town. I absolutely love this hotel and will definitely be visiting again!

I had a really nice experience at the Hyatt! I had no problems checking in or checking out, I didn't encounter any loud or obnoxious neighbors, and everything about my stay was nice. Everything pretty much went by smoothly and I had no issues with my room at all. Hyatt is a newly renovated hotel so for a price of $160 including tax for an overnight stay with a king bedroom, I found it to be a steal. There was a gym, a pool, free wifi, free breakfast, and the best part about my stay was that I was chosen as their guest of the day so they upgraded my basic room to one of the rooms with the space needle view and also gave me a few coupons for some restaurants near by. My room was very spacious and clean and the bed and pillows were actually pretty comfortable to sleep on as well! They offer a shuttle that will take you anywhere for free within a mile of the hotel which is nice because downtown and the space needle is nearby for touristy things. Didn't take advantage of that though since I'm already from Seattle lol. Great hotel.

During our short  trip, the girls and I cannot express enough of just how lucky we were to have selected the Hyatt Place as our home for the weekend.

Hyatt Place is nothing fancy schmancy-- no room service, chandeliers or fancy restaurant. But really, why do we need that when we're going to spend most of our day exploring?

Here's a few reasons why you must stay at the Hyatt Place if you ever visit Seattle.

1. They offer a FREE 24-hour shuttle service to and from any place that is within 1-mile radius. That's the Space Needle, Pike Place, Belltown, the Water Front -- essentially you save on gas, time and cab money from all those touristy places you're bound to visit with door to door service.

2. FREE breakfast. I'm not talking about continental breakfast. We're talking breakfast sandwiches, waffles, pancakes, steel cut oatmeal. Great start for a long day of traveling.

3. FREE wifi. (That's three free's already)

4. Spacious and clean suites. The suite with 2 full size beds is spacious enough for 4 girls with ample mirror space for getting ready.

5. The price is definitely right. This was actually our most economical option that we found. We were definitely blown away by what a great deal it turned out to be.

The staff was friendly and polite and the whole hotel was clean. We even went to the fitness center to get our fitness on.

If I'm ever back in Seattle, I'll be back at the Hyatt Place Hotel again!

Great place to stay in Seattle.  The staff was amazing and met all our requests with gusto.  The room was nice and the bed was comfortable.  I would have liked a portable table for eating in front of the TV as the ottoman was being used for suitcase storage.  Couch wasn't very comfortable.  The bathroom was nice with a huge rain shower (Hyatt: you could store the folding table in the bathroom as there is ample room).
I didn't enjoy paying $20 plus taxes for parking each night, yet I understand space is limited and at a premium.  Parking garage is tight and takes some maneuvering skills sometimes.
Pool was closed for renovations.
Free breakfast didn't look very appetizing and it was packed when we checked it out.  We ate out instead.  Lots of great places to eat.
On a whim my wife got me a latte from the hotel and it was very good.  I was pleasantly surprised.
Overall a great hotel experience.

Very clean hotel with large and unique guestrooms.  The staff was friendly, the breakfast good, and the rates were a good value.  The thing that puts this hotel above the others is the local shuttle.  They will take you or pick you up at any place within a couple mile radius and the hotel is so centrally located the shuttle will go to all the fun places downtown for free!

Great location, nice room and free breakfast. $20 per night to park is a bit steep and due to the Streets being torn up, getting in and out isn't as easy as it will be.

I really like the fact that the FREE shuttle operates 24 hours and they drive across most all of the downtown. Next time, I'll not rent a car!

Free wifi
Indoor pool
Small, nice exercise room
Good area to run
Safe, self-parking Parking garage

I'm giving this 4 star hotel 5 stars due to value. The service/amenties compared to the larger hotels was great and the price was significantly less than the other "full service" Hyatts

We were at the hotel for four nights, went to Pikes Market, Miners Landing, downtown and out to dinner and NEVER too our car out of the garage...we used the free, 24/7 shuttle service. I might add that the internet was also free and very fast and reliable. Don't miss out on their breakfast!

Thank you Matt, Dan, Marina, and Donna...just to mention a few of the staff.

We have stayed at Hyatt hotels many, many times in the past on both pleasure trips and business. The pros of this hotel is that it is clean, offers free wifi, has decent breakfast and is in a good location.

For any light sleepers out there, BEWARE!! The air/heating register is so noisy it kept me up most of the night. We were told that all of the rooms have the same system so there's nothing that can be done about that. Also, that the Grand Hyatt is the same.  To compensate us for our lousy night sleep, they credited our bill a whopping $30 :(

I won't be coming back.

-$149/night for a king bed & L-shaped sofa (has pullout bed), which is cheap for downtown Seattle
-"Fitted" sheet fits over the edge of the bed, unlike Hiltons in La Jolla & Mission Valley (San Diego area)
-Free breakfast for everyone (unavailable at the Four Points by Sheraton in downtown Seattle) tastes better than Hampton Inn (Hilton chain) or Residence Inn (Marriott chain)
-Although the parking spaces are small, they're bigger than the Hampton Inn in downtown Seattle.
-Food's reasonably priced at the cafe. A bowl of soup and a salad was $11.50. The chicken Caesar salad was decent.
-$20 self-parking daily, which is cheaper than other downtown hotels. I think the Best Western in Pioneer Square wanted to charge $40/day if I remember correctly.
-Literally RIGHT across from a Walgreens in case you forget something or have the munchies.

-The mushroom soup was TERRIBLE. It was WAY too salty, so I threw it away. The cream of mushroom soup is much better in United Airlines' first class cabin! The soup was also very small. The "bowl" of soup was the same size as La Madeleine's cup of soup.
-For some reason, no sound on the food network channel for ANY rooms.
-No to-go boxes available for the free breakfast, so plan accordingly. I was running late one morning and forgot to set the alarm. Sigh.
-If you have a large, empty box, be sure to write "trash" on the box even if you have trash/leftover delivery food in it (I also wrote "basura," which is Spanish) or else it'll sit for a couple of nights.
-At check-in, the girl didn't tell me to only use the orange elevators in the parking garage. The blue elevators won't work for hotel guests, by the way.
-Lighting is needed in the shower stall portion of the bathroom. The single light isn't bright enough for the entire bathroom.
-Coffee/tea stations are cleared away by 5PM, so stock up if you want Tazo tea at night.
-WiFi can be a bit slow or wonky, even on the first floor while eating breakfast.

As you can see, I have an equal amount of pros and cons. Since it only takes 5 stays to become platinum and 25 stays for diamond, I've decided to try to reach elite status with Hyatt. I'll probably stay here again next month for work!

I'm torn in having to give this Hyatt and the Olive 8 the exact same rating, but depending on what you're in the city for, this may be perfect too?

If its you first time in the city, spend a bit more and stay at the Olive 8.  If you've been to Seattle previously, then you may be surprised to find that this place is, clean, has great customer service, and pretty nice views of the city depending on your room.

The area around can be sketchier.  I walked to dinner and didn't mind, but quite a few people told me about people stealing/breaking into cars.  So don't take advantage of the $5 parking across the street, they urge you to park in the garage.

My room, although the older style hyatt place, was clean and well put together.  I even had a beautiful view of the needle from my room.  For the price, expectation, and experience, this place is worth it for a budgeted option when staying in Seattle.

If you want to be treated like crap this is the place to stay! Horrible customer service rude.  They offer to let you borrow a charger if you forgot yours - yep that means they let you borrow junk other people left behind or tell you to go buy one from across the street - be fine if they didn't have all over the lobby offering the service

I definitely lucked out on this one. I did the whole secret hotel deals on Hotwire and got an awesome price for this great hotel.

Located near the Space Needle, and a mile away from Pike Place Market/Downtown Seattle, this is a great option instead of staying right in Downtown. Since they offer a free 24/7 shuttle to anywhere within a 1 mile radius, so you can get to downtown easily.

As for the room itself, it was clean, spacious, and modern. The room had a spacious sofa, which could easily fit a couple of people. It also came with a mini fridge and coffeemaker. Wifi is free, which is always good. Definitely nicer than your usual motel room.

The staff was super helpful and friendly. The free breakfast wasn't super special, just your usual eggs, sausage, pancakes, toast, etc, but at least we actually got a couple of hot food options, which was nice. It's a nice change from the usual muffin and bagel free breakfasts. They also have a cafe/deli of sorts that's open 24/7, perfect if you're too lazy to get out of the hotel. We ended up getting a spinach/artichoke pizza that was pretty good.

My only complaint is the $20 a night parking fee, which is a bit steep. But since you get the free shuttle, at least you'll save the parking fees if you do park in downtown.

Overall, we were pretty happy with our stay. We'll definitely consider staying here again in the future.

Our stay at the Hyatt downtown Seattle was AMAZING! The check in process was flawless, we arrived around noon and they had a room ready for us for early check in! We then found out (after we were able to park right underneath in a gated garage) that they had a complimentary shuttle for us to use! We used the shuttle about 4-5 times between the two days we were there and had nothing but good experiences! The continental breakfast was delicious and they made checking in, out and getting around town tremendously easy! We will be back to stay again!!

This is not going to resemble my typical reviews because I really want to promote this hotel and its excellent features. Read me loud and clear: this is a GREAT hotel that provides tremendous value.

Here are the reasons:
1. Free 24hr shuttle (on demand, just call and they come) to anywhere within 1 mile
2. Awesome in room entertainment console allowing you to hook up your devices to HD flatscreen (40+ inches)
3. Free breakfast (this was not some chincey continental, full out breakfast)
4. Great exercise room
5. Walking distance to all of the hot spots in Seattle
6. Best of all, we forgot some clothing in the room and they shipped it to us free of charge.

If I had one complaint, they didn't have corkscrews in the room but they would happily pop your bottle at the front desk.

Great hotel.

I want to like this Hyatt Place, but for a vacation to Seattle its too far from the heart of downtown Seattle and the waterfront. I would prefer a downtown hotel on Pine or Pike, as the area is active and busy day and night.

The Hyatt Place is a couple blocks walk from the Seattle Center and Space Needle, as well as adjacent to the Belltown neighborhood (not much interest for tourists here), but next time I'll stay downtown and simply ride the monorail from its Westlake terminus directly to Seattle Center. It would be more convenient and fun.

This Hyatt Place is relatively new, very clean and all the staff were friendly and attentive to our needs. The rooms are spacious and the free daily breakfast was fine. Sleeper sofa bed is a standard uncomfortable affair and our closet was a weird, small space. But the regular king bed was comfortable and the room located in a quiet corner overlooking the downtown area to the southeast. Cardio room is a very small afterthought with four machines and a rack of free weights and the indoor pool nonfunctional.

Parking is charged daily, which I did not care for. But the Hotel provided a free daily shuttle to destinations within a one mile radius, which compensated for its inconvenient and somewhat remote and isolated location from downtown (to be fair, the Hyatt Place is only a 15 min walk to Westlake Center where the big department stores and hotels are located and a 20 min walk to Pike Place market, but its an uninteresting and lonely walk).

If you only have to be close to Seattle Center, this place is ideal. Otherwise, as a visitor to everything else Seattle has to offer, I'd probably stay downtown next time.

The boyfriend and I stayed at the Hyatt Place Seattle/Downtown for three nights during our visit to Seattle. I don't think there could have been anything done better for our experience. Clean and spacious rooms that felt super new (I think our driver said it's less than 5 years old?). Superb service -- they always had someone at the front desk to answer any questions we had or call the free shuttle (running 24/7). We were kind of worried when we first arrived in Seattle because our taxi driver said we picked a hotel that was more north downtown, instead of the 2 Hyatt's that were in downtown.

Why you should consider this hotel during your visit to Seattle:
+ FREE wifi
+ FREE breakfast (6-9am weekdays, 7-10am weekends) -- nothing spectacular about the breakfast they offer; the usual- eggs, sausage, pancakes, bagels, toast, etc. But if you're able to wake up for it, why not?
+ FREE shuttle anywhere within 1 mile of the hotel. All the drivers we had were SUPER nice and knowledgeable. You give them a call to get picked up. It runs 24/7, which is really convenient.
+ It's only a 15-20 minute walk to Pike's Place/downtown and all the bars on 2nd Ave.
+ Huge room for 2 people to share (we basically didn't even use the couch/bar area at all)

A tip if you're traveling from out of town -- instead of paying $50+ for the taxi from the airport to downtown Seattle, take the LINK!! It's only $2.50 and takes 10-15 minutes longer than taking the taxi. We didn't know about the LINK and got ripped off by taking the taxi when we arrived Thursday night. :(

If we go back to Seattle, I would definitely come back to Hyatt's!

HUGE Fan! This will be my go-to hotel in Seattle and the one I will recommend to others. If/When I am back in Seattle, I WILL stay here.

I typically stay at hotels with valet, room service, etc... but why? I rarely use those services and this hotel was the PERFECT combination of location, price, services, and friendly staff.

Why did I love this hotel?

Location: A few blocks from Seattle Center, Space Needle, Pacific Science Center, Chihuly Glass exhibit, and EMP. Just a little farther away is the Olympic Sculpture Garden, Pike Place Market, Seattle Art Museum, and lots of restaurants. There is also a Walgreens directly across the street which is so convenient when you want something to drink or a snack.

Shuttle: The absolute BEST thing about this hotel is the 24/7 free shuttle to anywhere within a mile.  That encompasses everything I mentioned in location and more.  The shuttle will not only drop you off but will pick you up if you call. We never waited more than 10 minutes for the shuttle which was fantastic!

The hotel staff is friendly! The lobby is spacious and has lots of comfortable seating. The hotel charges $20/day for parking in a secured underground garage which was cheaper than anywhere else I checked into throughout central Seattle. The hotel gives you FREE (yes, free) WiFi upon check in. Free unlimited breakfast is offered daily with both cold and hot options.

The room was large (room 907) and had a king sized bed, large section couch, desk, chair, and 42 inch flat screen TV. The TV swiveled to face the couch or bed. We got free cable and were even able to catch The Walking Dead from our hotel. Bonus!

The only thing I would change is the street noise as it can be a bit noisy outside, especially when emergency vehicles go by. Even with the street noise, I would happily stay here again.

We paid $119 /night and prepaid to get that deal on their website. I thought it was an excellent price for everything we received. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This was an AWESOME hotel. My family and I stayed here during our week long stay in Seattle last month. Very reasonable pricing for the awesome accommodations. It is situated a little more than usual walking distance to the heart of downtown Seattle but they have a free complimentary shuttle service to every where within a one mile radius of the hotel. (Yes, this means free 24 hour shuttles to major attractions like Pike Place Market and the Waterfront) They have complimentary breakfast too! Very clean and modern looking but still has a home kitchen area feel. The staff was all very polite and helpful and knowledgeable about the city. Highly recommend!

This hotel was the perfect place to stay while sightseeing a few days in downtown Seattle. The free shuttle pickup and drop off within a mile of the hotel means you can hit pikes place, the needle, and tons of awesome restaurants without any trouble at all. The shuttle was a huge part of why I love this place. The breakfast bar is above average and the staff was very helpful. The hotel was clean and updated.

Clean and neat. Parking is $20 per night which is very pricey but you are staying at the bottom of the space needle.

There is a parking lot right around the corner on John Street if you need it.

Breakfast is free and they have many coffee stations in the morning which is helpful.

The heat and air conditioner controls are the worst ever. Even with instructions on the wLl that you need a magnifying glass to read it still doesn't work nice.

The window shades are to short so don't think your sleeping late as the sun comes in full force on the bottom.

Our family stayed here for several days after returning from our Alaskan Cruise.  Seattle is a wonderful place to visit, and this hotel is a great place to stay during your visit.  We especially appreciated the morning breakfast, and 24 hr shuttle service.  Shuttle service is only about 1 mile radius, but it covers about 90% of what you want to explore on your first trip to Seattle.  I am very happy we had chose this place for our family's stay, and will stay here again when the opportunity comes up.
There was a customer service incident with a rep name 'Nancy' but I won't discount the overall experience of the hotel because of one rep and one incident... Will, however, write something on their website's comment section nonetheless.
Bottom line: great hotel, great rooms, great amenities, and great location.  Not much more you can ask for.

Staying here right now and checking out in the morning. Overall, a very nice hotel. I'm a Hyatt guy and usually am all about Hyatt Place hotels. Was deciding between this and Hyatt Regency. The staff was outstanding, the hotel was clean and included free wifi. The price was very fair too. Let's talk about location. It is a block or so away from the Space Needle, but it's kind of far from the main downtown area and the water (15-20 minute walk). Some people should take that into consideration before booking here. They do offer a shuttle within an one mile radius, but sometimes it can back up and you have to wait 30 or 40 minutes to take it. We just walked everywhere and it wasn't bad at all. I would absolutely stay here again. Great place.

~$115 for a Wednesday night with a company discount
Pool is under renovation until May 2014 (indoor)
Free Wi-Fi with username and password
$20 for a parking spot for the night + $2.50 parking tax

Free shuttle to Amazon campus and many popular places around the downtown area. (about 5-15 minutes when you request for a shuttle depending on where the shuttle is at the moment)

Free breakfast from 6am-9:30am: LOTS of options.

I came to Seattle on business and booked a room with Hyatt Place and I have to say I would definitely come back. They are very accommodating and the staff members are very polite and attentive.

Normally we stay on Pike Street but hit a 'sold-out' weekend and ended up at the Hyatt Place.  Very reasonable for a very nice place.  Rooms are spacious, modern, with a fridge, and large seating/lounging area.  Ask for a tub if you want when you make your reservations.  Free breakfast is ABUNDANT and varied.  Front desk staff is super helpful.  Parking is underground ($22 plus tax per day).  Fitness room is well outfitted with 3 treadmills, 2 ellipticals (though one was broken), and a recumbent cycle along with lots of barbell free weights and a bench. Didn't try the indoor pool but lots of kids seemed to be enjoying it.  Not real close to downtown but Seattle is about walking so 15 minutes and you're at all the tourist spots.  Space needle, EMP, Science Museum all 5 minutes walk.  DIdn't use the shuttle (anyplace within a mile of the hotel).

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here!

What I liked about this hotel:

1. Close to the Space Needle and other surrounding attractions
2. Offers a free 24/7 shuttle service to any place you want (on a first come first serve basis), as well as picking you up, as long as it is within a one mile distance (Pike's Place Market is less than a mile so you're covered there)
3. Free breakfast every morning, as well as free coffee and tea in the lobby
4. Free wifi

The room was nice and spacious for the two of us. The sofa is big and comfy with a swiveling television set so you can either watch tv on the couch or on the bed. The front office staff were all friendly and helpful. The hotel is also located near a freeway (5 min drive) so going to UW or anywhere north is a breeze. There is parking for hotel guests that'll run you about $20 each night. I will definitely come back and stay here for my next trip.

Not your typical Hyatt. Buyer beware- there is an apartment building adjacent to this hotel and you can hear the neighbors in the middle of the night!! Complained at 3am because I was there for business and the noise level from the neighbors was unbearable. I stayed on the 4th floor.

The ppl there must've been on methamphetamines because I heard furniture moving around from 2am to 4:30am. Who does that?

Pros- great breakfast, nice staff, early check in, clean
Cons- Walls made of rice paper. Left feedback to the mgr and never got a response back.
If you want raccoon eyes with half a brain the next day, this is a great spot for you.

This Hyatt Place is great! our room was clean and had a view of downtown Seattle. Short walk (3 blocks) from the Space Needle. Customer service was o.k, free shuttle any where within a 1 mile range and they will pick you up (at their pick up stops) and take you back to the hotel. Free buffet breakfast in the morning with healthy options. Security is strict here, which is good! You can rest easy knowing your rental car is parked in a secured/gated garage and the elevator needs your activated room key to work. Walgreens is across the street open 24 hours if you need anything (snacks, water, necessities, Pharmacy, etc). We would stay here again. Reasons why I knocked off a star:

- $20+tax for parking, per day.

- Free coffee is only served in the morning during breakfast. Other hotels have it free 24-7. At one point, they ran out. Kinda odd, since this is Seattle = land of coffee. Hello!

- Free shuttle ride back to the hotel from Pike's Place was a bit challenging, the driver had us walk a few blocks trying to find a cupcake place that wasn't easy to find. Apparantly, this is their "pick up spot". It was below 35 degrees outside and raining. We are tourist and obviously not familiar with the neighborhood. Imagine crossing the street several times, going around the same streets several times in the cold rain looking for this cupcake place just to get picked up. We did ask if he can just pick us up at the same spot he dropped us off (in front of the first Starbucks) and he insisted we find the cupcake place. #JERK #NOTIP

So, this place is as generic as it gets. This Hyatt Place is probably the exact same one found in Fargo, ND ( I do not actually know if there is a Hyatt Place in Fargo, ND). With that being said, I'm a fan. This seems like a neighborhood that's being built as we speak, I think they are calling it Denny Triangle. My room's window faced Walgreens, a construction crane and the Space Needle. (I posted on the Yelp NJ Facebook page if you are interested in seeing it!) They had a pool, a super small fitness center, free wifi and free breakfast...Score.

It was about a 5 minute walk to the Space Needle, Chihuly Museum and environs; a 12-15 minute walk to Belltown and about a 25 minute walk to Pike's Place; in other words, a great starting point for exploration. Perfect. This place definitely isn't going to wow you, but if the price is right this hotel is clean, new, had a great flat screen and a solid breakfast buffet (the 5 bananas I grabbed last the whole weekend of breakfasts).

If you're looking for that "quintessential" Seattle experience, stay in downtown in the thick of things for a night. Then head here for a cheaper rate and free wifi. No doubt I'd stay again if this spot was the cheaper option.

Came to Seattle for work and if you are headed to the Amazon campuses, this is close.  Only takes about 15 min to walk to where you need to go.

One seller for us was that they had continental breakfast, but you know for what they offered, it was a whole lot more than what hotel categorized as continental.  If you forgot something, you can walk across the way to Walgreens and pick up what you need to.  If you are looking for sweets, they have desserts (& salads) up front.

The rooms are spacious, but they do pick up a lot of noise.  I think Sasquatch was staying above me because there were some nights I could not sleep.  I had a corner room so I had nothing but a street view.  Not a view of downtown or Space Needle like what the other rooms offered as far as sites out the windows.

Its not close to Pikes or shopping, however, they do have a shuttle that transports you to and from a one mile radius.  Beware there are times you get quick shuttle service OR it could be long.  One night they actually forgot to pick us up which was frustrating since we could of walked with all the time we waited, but oh well, the time eventually passed about an hour later.

Would I stay here again?  Sure for work, but if you are coming here as a tourists, its best to stay closer to Pike's.

I am EXTREMELY picky about hotels and nervous about staying in new ones, but Hyatt Place Seattle Downtown was amazing. The room was clean, modern, comfortable, spacious, and had a great view of the Space Needle and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The location was walking distance to restaurants, movie theaters and attractions, and the hotel provided a shuttle that took guests within 1 mile to local attractions. Highly recommended. It felt priecey, but was comparable to rates at other hotels and had way more space than your standard hotel room. If I'm ever in Seattle again - this will be where I stay!

We stayed at the Hyatt Place Seattle/Downtown recently and were very happy. The hotel is only a short walk from major tourist sites like the Experience Music Project and the Space Needle. The lobby is very spacious and with lots of comfortable seating. They even have a free shuttle that will take you anywhere within a two mile radius from the hotel, potentially saving you a cab ride. Every morning they serve a complimentary breakfast adjacent to the lobby. Hotel also has free wifi.

Our room was very comfortable and quiet. We had a family-style room with a large living room, 40 inch HDTV, kitchenette with a mini fridge and small sink, and a large bathroom and king sized bed.

We were very happy staying at the Hyatt Place and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Seattle, especially if you're planning to see the tourist sites. It would also be a great hotel for anyone traveling without a car, because you'll be in walking distance to many great places.

The reason I chose this hotel is due to its location. It's only a 10 minute walk from the Seattle Center (Space Needle, Chihuly glass garden, etc.) and there's also a Walgreens store literally 100 feet away.
The first thing that stood out to me was the customer service of the front desk staff. They were extremely nice and approachable. They answered all my questions and they were always happy to help me. My check-in time wasn't until 3:00pm but Jessica was able to find a room for me earlier so i didn't have to wait a couple hours. The free shuttle was also an excellent perk, especially when the rain was really coming down.
As for the hotel itself, it was very nice inside. My room was clean and spacious. It was actually a lot better than my room at Caesar's Palace in Vegas. Overall, I'm glad I stayed at the Hyatt Place and I wouldn't hesitate booking a room here again in the future.

I definitely had mixed feelings throughout my stay regarding the hotel and the staff.  Several things went wrong, but for the most part I thoroughly enjoyed staying here.

We tried to check in at 10am, but they had no rooms available yet.  That was understandable, so we decided to go to the Space Needle.  Luckily, the hotel has its very own shuttle, and it was just about to depart.  We were able to hop on, but realized it was not necessary, as the Space Needle was just two blocks away!  I was not sure whether to tip or not, so I decided not to just because I was so shocked when the driver said we were here already.  She gave us her business card and said to call her when we needed a ride back.  That was pretty cool.  We took the shuttle roughly six times throughout our stay.  I tipped $2 each time they drove us somewhere, and $10 when we had a really awesome driver that showed us sights and even helped us take pictures!

We decided to walk back to the hotel after lunch inside the Space Needle.  It was still not check in time, but our room was now ready.  We were pretty high up, and from the bedroom, we probably had one of the best views of the Space Needle!  The person checking us in was a native of Seattle, and she was very helpful.  She definitely went above and beyond her job by physically showing us where all the amenities were including where our breakfast would be, the gym, the lounging area, the business center, and the place where all the brochures would be located.  She told us her favorite things/attractions in Seattle, and was just terrific.

Our room was fairly big.  There was a large living room area separate from the bedroom which had a table, a sofa, refrigerator, etc.  It really was not necessary, but would be perfect if we had more people in the room.  Everything in the room was nice and functioned properly.  The only thing that bugged me was the positioning of the tv.  It is not directly in front of the bed, for lack of a place to put it.  A table would not be able to fit where the end of the bed is, but if it were mounted on the wall, that would be great.

The location of the hotel was excellent.  Just across the street and there is a Walgreens which opens late.  Free breakfast, wi-fi, and a shuttle to take you anywhere within a two mile radius is included.  The breakfast is not extravagant, but it is decent for free.  The hot food offered changes daily.  One day it was scrambled eggs, and on other day it was omelettes on top of muffins/crossaints, etc.    The pastries that they dished out were the best part of breakfast.  I believe they make them fresh because they are extremely hot, and soft, and melt in your mouth!  They have a variety of pastries, with my favorite being the cinnamon rolls.

The only downside which we experienced problems was the shuttle service they offer.  When it gets very busy, you are better off walking to your destination.  We requested the shuttle one afternoon, and the receptionist told us fifteen minutes would be the wait time.  We checked back in fifteen minutes and then she said another fifteen minutes.  Then she said ten minutes after another fifteen minutes had passed.  After that, she simply told us it would be arriving soon.  Altogether, it took about forty five minutes for the shuttle to return.  There was poor communication between the driver and the receptionist.

All in all, this is a very nice hotel to stay at.  I enjoyed the room and the service.  I would definitely recommended staying here.  I had a great time here!

It's downtown adjacent (like really close to the needle), and a short 6 block walk to where it's all happening.  They offer limited shuttle rides within a mile or two.

If you stayed in a Hyatt Place before, you know what to expect.  1) informal check-in lobby, 2) free breakfast buffet, and 3) really well-designed mini-suite rooms.

Further, the breakfast buffet includes: several hot eggy sandwiches, yogurt and cereals, toast and muffins, fresh fruit, and more.  The sandwiches are worthy.  Not a reason to stay at a Hyatt Place, but a great way to start your day.

If you need any help or guidance (to the area or what-not), the front desk is very helpful and knowledgeable about the area.

Man do I hate to give low stars.  I feel like people who do are simply POed with the place and are trying to skew the stars, but I am here for another night and am laying on my comfortable bed looking at the Space Needle and saying that I have to give credit where an establishment has dropped the quality bar.  Hyatt Place has dropped it in both physical plant and customer service.

1). Logistics of parking is not user friendly
2). The room temperature controls are even more difficult to understand and I have computer skills but had to actually make changes to the wall computer 3 times last night to try to not roast.
3). Bathroom toilet seat cover is broken and after room service the seat cover was actually more askew than when we left.
4). Handset on the local phone did not work and so fortunately the phone had a speaker button. (Rm 716)
5). I speaker phoned the front desk to see if we could make use of their local shuttle and assured them that the restaurant we were going to was 1.2 miles away according to Google.  I was told that their shuttle "only went a 1.0 mile radius" and that "they would be able to drop us off at that point and we could walk the rest".  I wonder how you schedule a pick-up for that service?

Now that I reread this review I can see that I too have a grind issue...the shuttle...funny how this review would have let a toilet seat, sauna heat and a not operational telephone handset go...but don't take me 1000 feet further and you get 2 stars!!!

Oh well.  Be warned.  Eat close if you want to not have to walk.

FREE SHUTTLE WITHIN 1 MILE!!! - Super friendly drivers +1!!
Free breakfast
Spacious rooms
Free coffee/tea bar
Friendly staff

The bathrooms are really old and didn't make sense. The weird shower layout also was creepy to me for some reason...
Hotel itself is def not up to par with Hyatt chain standards

Parking at $30 a night (including tax). Parking garage is a tigghhhttt fit with a regular size sedan. Room was a little odd and the walls were super thin, could hear a baby crying next door to us off/on during our stay. Would hate to be in a room next to newlyweds... Breakfast was included and nice, soap smelt good and lime-y, bed was comfortable and the TV was big w/ basic cable, cool-ish view looking at the city at night. We paid a little extra for the place b/c it seemed nice. It turned out to be just OK, would recommend with the warning of the very thin walls and parking.

Stayed here this past weekend and was very happy with the spot.  It's a little further from the downtown area, but only a few blocks from the Space Needle and all that has to offer.  They also have a great shuttle service (24 hours) that takes you within a mile or a mile and a half for free and will pick you up relatively quickly when you call- we made use of that at least 8-10 times to get to restaurants, Pike Place Market, and the surrounding area.  The service was great- even willing to heat up leftover pizza for us at 630 in the morning (don't judge), and they have a hot breakfast/brunch that was much better than I expected.
Didn't make use of any of the other amenities like the pool or gym but overall considering the price, cleanliness and service, we were very happy with our short stay.

Spent four nights here and rather than go on a rant of various things I liked and didn't like, I'll just compose a list below:

- Free Wi-Fi
- Free shuttle 24/7
- Free breakfast buffet from 6:30-9:30 a.m.
- If you don't want to eat breakfast there, several restaurants and cafes are within walking distance
- Walgreens is right across the street
- King View rooms have a good view of the Space Needle
- Fitness Center is very clean and well-maintained
- Indoor pool features depths of 3, 6 and 11 ft.
- Front desk staff is SUPER friendly. Literally every single one of them. Had an issue with a room booked through Expedia in which we ended up with a King bed instead of a double Queen. Staff worked to get us into a double Queen room the next day. Again, super friendly, super helpful.

- The rooms feature an odd partition between the beds and couch that makes it feel very closed in. It was also annoying when I wanted to show someone something as I'd have to get up off the bed, walk around the partition and over to the couch. (Yes, I sound like a lazy American)
- The bed closest to the window features a vent that lets in cool air. I ended up covering it with a bath towel, but still and odd set up.
- While the shuttle is free, you may have to wait a while during peak hours. Mind you, I was there during a convention and called in the evening when the wait time was "about an hour."
- The chairs in the lobby really need to be replaced. A lot of them were stained from people dropping food or drinks on them.
- The elevator doors should also be replaced, especially that dented one on the right that scrapes against the elevator.
- Volume and channel scroll buttons on the remote in Room 320 don't work. You have to adjust volume manually on the side of the TV.

This hotel is still our favorite place to stay in Seattle. The staff is so friendly and helpful.  The hotel offers large rooms, great breakfast, 24 hour food service, fitness center, in-door heated pool, and is within walking distance of LOTS of sites.  We love the convenience of the free shuttle service and the drivers are so nice and informative. Our son is attending college in Washington so we are so happy to have such a great place to stay when we come visit.

This hotel is such a great find. I spent 7 nights in this hotel and I really enjoyed my stay. I would not hesitate to book this hotel again during my next stop in Seattle.

-Free wifi
-Free shuttle service 24/7 within one mile of the hotel. Took the shuttle to Pike Place numerous times without a hitch
-Relatively quiet
-Walgreens right across the street
-Free breakfast every morning
-Great view of the Space Needle
-Large room with separate sitting area with couch/fold out bed
-Comfortable main bed
-Fridge/mini bar area
-Great customer service at the front desk

-Slightly wonky elevator
-Slightly dark bathroom

As you can see, there aren't many downsides to this hotel. I know some people have complained about the lack of view or the noise, but I did not experience any of that.

Prior to trip.  I called to inquire about the shuttle service and the lady gave me an attitude.  I asked her how it works and she said it was complimentary, running 24 hours, and takes a one mile radius with no scheduled times.  So I asked how often does it come by normally.  She said with an attitude "like I said, there's no scheduled times".  And I asked, how are we supposed to know when to take the shuttle then.  At that point she finally said that it comes when we request it.  Wouldn't that be one of the first things you would say?  That's what I needed to know when I asked how it works.

I hope I don't have to deal with poor attitude awhile I am there.

Nice hotel, decent location. Hyatt Place is located next to the Seattle Center (Space Needle, Chihuly Garden, EMP). The hotel offers free breakfast and a bar in the evening. Across the street is a Walgreens in case you need to get some basics (water, toothbrush, whatever). Guest rooms are all suites with a divider separating the living area from the bedroom area. Dining options immediately around the hotel are limited, but downtown Seattle is just about a 10-15 min walk away. There is a bike share station located a block away (towards the Shell gas station).

We stayed here to attend a convention at the Washington State Convention Center. The hotel is about 0.8 miles from the CC - i'd recommend Ubering/Lyfting. It's about a 20 - 30 min walk or a 10 - 15 min bike ride.

V v happy with my recent stay at Hyatt place. Great location, space needle view room.

Walgreens just at a distance of 100 feet. 10 Min walk to down town shopping (depending on your walking style, I walk fast). Not more than 5 mins walk to space needle. Pike place market at a distance of 17 mins (walk).

-They have complementary breakfast..
-Shuttle wherever whenever you want to go with in one mile (basically, everything important is within 1 mile or nearer to one mile so no prob at all).
-Iron stand, a.c.. Basically everything you want.

Worth the price.
