how do one grade a hotel? i don't know if the star system still works since it can be very objective, so unless it's a 4+ star hotel, i usually expect nothing more than great.

pros: very friendly and helpful staff, even during the wee hours. never expected to have a king size bed for a standard room. great room service. free newspaper is nice too.

cons: maybe it's just me but i'm used to have cabs waiting in front of hotels, possibly because the main entrance is not located at the main street?

i didn't mind the dim lights since i needed the room only for watching tv and sleep, and with that reason, i didn't care about the view at all even though my room was facing the construction area. inspite of the medicore reviews below, i actually found the hotel better than i thought.

This place is two steps above a dump. When my group first approached the hotel by car, we were like, "Naw, that can't be the place." What we saw on the website was a nice, newish looking hotel, pretty nice looking rooms, and slightly more amenities than the average hotel. What we saw with our eyes was a faded looking building, construction around the building which required us to pay $17 for valet parking, and rooms that were still dimly lit even with all the lights turned on. Their lobby area is pretty nice though, and they do offer use of a free public computer (to make up for the $10/day they charge for wireless, I guess). However, overall I am very unimpressed.

Great location within walking distance of many places of interest (Pioneer Square, the waterfront, Pike Place Market, art museum, Space Needle, etc.).  The room was comfortable and clean and staff was friendly.  Only ate at the hotel restaurant, the DragonFish, for breakfast.  Overall, a good quality and great location for a fair price.

The Paramount is a let-down. Surrounded by awesome hotels, I can't help but wonder why I am stuck here. TINY rooms, bathroom so small you can barely squeeze in. I can hear the guy on floor 9 relieving himself in the toilet, as well as every word others on my floor say. The location was good and the restaurant is decent... but don't stay here. It's depressing and loud.

I travel a lot for work and am very grateful when I've had a hotel booked for me that has super comfortable beds. Lovely pillowtop mattress. The renovated rooms are very snazzy, neat bathroom design and lots of thoughtful details.

4 stars for comfortable bed, quality of room and friendly staff. 1 star lost due to sloppy, late room service breakfast lacking essentials (no water, sugar packet) and expensive fees for valet parking and wireless connection ($27 and $9.95).

Others have commented on the location but it was fine for me as it was on the right side of town for my work. On my evening off it was only a short walk down to the waterfront.

The Paramount is in a prime location in downtown within walking distance to just about everything- monorail to the Space Needle, shopping, Pike's, etc.
I read some reviews that said the service was not the best, so I was surprised to find the employees so pleasant and helpful. We were traveling with our one-year old, and without asking for it, the front desk attendant offered us a crib when we checked in, and it was delivered to our room very quickly. The bell man was very friendly and courteous, and he offered lots of tips about visiting nearby sites with our son.
The room was great: clean, not too small (we had an 'executive king' corner room), and the bathroom was awesome- very big with separate shower and tub. The room was a little noisy from other people's doors slamming, and be sure to not sleep with the window open unless you want to wake up around 6a.m. to the hustle of downtown. The bed was comfortable, but not as good as Ritz Carlton or Westin beds. It was a bit spendy- $200 for the room and valet parking.
The restaurant downstairs, Dragonfish, was decent and had awesome late night pricing for smaller plates and drinks, however the service was slow and the sushi selection was practically nonexistent. They may have a better selection earlier, but when we dined at 10pm, they only offered us the happy hour menu, which is disappointing when you are craving sushi.
All in all, we really enjoyed the Paramount and plan on staying there whenever we return to Seattle!

Unfriendly, smelly, broken, expensive, I mean what more could you ask for. Walking through the front doors you are met by a dark underwhelming lobby, hopping the people working at the desk will brighten things up a bit you are greeted with a mixture of smug boredom and malcontent. You think to yourself "This hotel is far too expensive to feel this bland and run down, perhaps the rooms are wonderful." Then just before you receive your room key the "cheerful" person behind the counter informs you that it's going to cost you $40 to park your car. At this point you are bursting with joy. Then you enter your room, it smells of old boat, mothballs, and wet dog, but at least you have the luxury of a functioning toilet.... Nope. 2hrs later the problem is fixed. You leave this place and have a great day in Seattle only to return to your room and find that there is a creeper across the way shining a laser light in your window, after you spot him standing in his window with nothing but his boxers on your wife asks you to call security so you do, even though you just want to get some sleep. 30min later "head of security" shows up at the door to take a look. You feel like this guy is familiar then it dawns on you "this man is a valet, and the people at the desk are mocking you." Well needless to say if this sounds like your kind of place it's all here. I give it one because there is no zero I have stayed in nicer places for $45 bucks a night.

I've stayed at many hotels in downtown seattle over the past 25 years, and for the price this was great.  Location is pretty good, on the edge of downtown but that didn't bother me since I've been to Seattle many, many times.  Didn't eat at the restaurant, was visiting relatives, didn't use the valet/parking, it was a close the the link for the airport.  What was nice was that wi-fi was included in the price of the hotel, bed was very comfortable much better that the beds at the Westin. And the rooms were nicely appointed, Didn't mind that the hotel was non-descript.  Used the gym and thought they were fine.

A very nicely decorated hotel that is just a few blocks away from Pikes Place. The distance from the Public Market was nice because it gave you the chance to walk through all the shopping areas and a past a good selection of bars/restaurants. Not too far and not too close. Our room was very comfortable and the bed gave me some of the best sleep while on vacation. Their late night desk staff was extremely accomodating to all of our tourist questions (he looked like Survivor winner: Richard Hatch but with clothes). Free internet use systems next to the lobby and on-site Dragonfish had a great closing happy hour every night until 1:30am. Cheap drink specials and delicious appetizers, get the crispy ginger chicken and the bulgogi (fiance loved the shrimp tempura roll). Ruth Chris directly across the street too! Hotel definitely deserves a return visit.

Stayed here for a weeknight and it was the least expensive ($116), classier hotel in the area. Great location and room amenities, it really looks like they redecorated recently. The room was spacious, 36" flat screen tv, great bathroom. The beds were very comfortable, they have some type of pillowtop mattress. We opted not to pay $27 for valet parking and instead easily found lots nearby. The restaurant downstairs has great happy hour specials on alcohol and sake. Overall, great service, room, and highly recommended!

Great experience!!  Anyone who gave a crappy review is used to having their a$$ kissed!!  Beautiful room, reasonably priced, nice staff, and great location!!!  Only 1 negative...parking is a little pricey, but that's not enough to keep us away!!! Thank you Paramount for a memorable stay.

I picked this hotel from a list I had from Travelocity Incentives and it seemed the nicest of those on the list (pretty much every hotel in Seattle seems to have VERY mixed reviews).

The hotel was about what I expected.  Somewhat no frills, but nice enough.  If I had to compare, I'd say it's similar to a Holiday Inn (though considering they have room service, perhaps better--perhaps more like a Marriott but smaller).  I had called to inquire about a slightly early check in and was told they'd "see" when we got there.  We go there and they looked up our reservation and apparently decided they had a room based off of that.  (I guess maybe a lot of people end up here from Hotwire or some condlidator and they aren't treated as nicely perhaps).

On the ride in to the hotel we ran into some guy who didn't know where we were staying really but said "there's a sushi restaurant right around there that's really good" ... Turns out that it's Dragonfly, the place in their lobby...  We tried going right around noon and were told they couldn't seat us for 20 minutes because they were changing menus.  Weird.  So we left and ate elsewhere.

The location is a good location, just a few blocks from the market and other stuff.  Lots of shopping in the immediate area.  Easily accessible by the bus that leaves to/fro the airport (though their web site mentions nothing of this bus ride to/fro the airport.. it was a pretty easy ride and at $2.25 the price is right)...

The hallways smelled like fake flowers from an aersosal can.
The entrance to the hotel is kinda weird.

a remodeled updated hotel that has very comfortable beds and unlke other hotels in the downtown seattle area, the fire trucks, police cars, ambulances, and buses could not be heard in the room allowing for an undisturbed sleep. the service was very friendly and helpful. the rooms were clean and fresh.
the bad was of course the charge for parking and the remote for the T.V. was a looz.
price was equal to other hotels

Staying in this hotel initially was not my choice - I was staying here last week for work.  I travel a bit and have slept in tons of different kinds of hotels all over the country.

I am giving this hotel 4 stars for a couple of reasons.  First of all, the beds are unbelievable comfortable.  I have expensive mattresses at home and this bed was better than what I returned to.  That's rarely the case.  Also, the room was new and clean (they recently had a renovation) and there was a huge flat-screen TV.

The workout room was decent, all things considered.  The staff was inconsistent.  Some were nice, some were tolerable and one was really kind of an ass.

The location is alright.  I don't go to Seattle for shopping - my hometown of Chicago is better for that - but the hotel is near a lot of upscale shops.  I would prefer to be closer to the waterfront myself.  At least there are a lot of free buses nearby.

If I could give this place 3 and a half stars, that would be more on target.  Then again, I stayed at the Fairmont last time I was there so the comparison is probably hurting the Paramount.

Stayed in this hotel for business - attending a conference.  The hotel is great - only 1 block from the convention center.  The service was excellent, and I was pleased with the cleanliness of the facilities. The only thing I could suggest for improvement is speed of the wifi - it was quite slow and made work a bit difficult.  However, it was free, so it is hard to complain about a free service.  I would definitely stay there again.

What a great hotel.  Good price point for such a prime location.  It is right in the heart of the Westlake shopping area, with the light rail station only a few blocks, and the market only 5 blocks.  It's completely central to any of the major tourist attractions you could want and negates needing a rental car.  The rooms are clean and modern and the beds are extremely comfortable.  The curtains are almost black out, which is great for sleeping in.  I didn't try the Dragonfish, but did order room service which was well priced (for room service anyhow) and was up in 10 minutes.  My pancakes were delicious, but I was a little disappointed with the "hash browns" because they were really only cubed potatoes.  They accommodated us with an 3 hour early check in and a two hour late check out and when we asked for wine glasses, they happily obliged with souvenir ones to take home.  Great hotel, great service.

So far so good. Hotel is smoke free. The water hammer in the shower is a bit annoying.  Just hope that no one in the building flushes the toilet while you are in the bath.  Rooms are clean and the air conditioning works well.  The walls are paper thin and sound carries far in the hallways, just so you know.  Overall the Paramount offers a friendly environment that I found to be kid friendly.  One more thing - and this may be a deal breaker for some - there is no pool!

Yeah, I'll throw my 'fan' hat in the ring.

I recently stayed here, even though I live no more than 3 miles away, for Valentines day with my sweetie. With the AAA discount, we paid $120 on a weekend night; a very reasonable value. Can you find more amenities/ nicer accommodations? Yes, but not in the heart of the city. You'll have to go down to Tukwila or up to Everett.

The 37 inch TV in the room, complete with a selection of Tivo'd programs, an abundance of movies, and an N64 system was nice. The beds, a little lumpy (comfortable in the middle, but not on the sides. The size? Completely adequate. Surprisingly, because the Paramount is located on a busy street and we were on the 2nd floor, it was quiet, too.

If you're looking for one of nicest hotels in the city, the Paramount isn't going to cut it for you. If you're looking to suggest something to travelers; something nice that's centrally located so it's easy to get up and be in the city, or if you're going to a show at the Paramount, across the street, it gets my reccommendation!

I stayed at the Paramount for a conference that was going on at the Grand Hyatt right opposite the Paramount. This place was a good bargain considering that it is plumb in the middle of downtown and compared to the Hyatt. The room was clean and spacious. The people I dealt with were efficient and succinct - no enthusiastic extra-helpful folks, but not too surly either. When I asked for accessories (brush and paste, shower cap), these were brought up promptly.

I used the gym and found it to be not very well-maintained. The weighing machine was broken and it was out of towels. Still I was glad to find a gym open 24 hours.

Overall, an OK experience and I would stay here in the future if I need to stay right in downtown. However, otherwise, my choice would be to stay in one of the suburbs.

Honestly... The customer service was fantastic!!!!.... but... I did get a cold shower one morning.  The people were great. The room was very nice. My wife always appreciates the shower robe. I would have given them a higher rating if it hadn't been for the cold shower... ice cold. But I will give them another try. And, I liked that they had on site valet parking for about as much as other hotels charge just for parking.

The Paramount was one of the few hotels in downtown Seattle that I had not stayed in over the past 15 years. I booked the room through Hotwire for $112+tax. A decent price for a room in downtown Seattle in the summer. I was here to attend a Mariners game and meet up with a friend, and the room was comfortable for pre- and post-game socializing.
The location of the hotel is great...close to the convention center, bus and light rail tunnel, Westlake Center as well as restaurants and shopping.
I was impressed with the room...while not being large, it had more than adequate space and amenities. King sized bed (very comfortable), lounge chair and ottoman, large desk (with lots of electrical outlets!), flat screen TV, and mini fridge. The bathroom was separated into the sink/vanity and toilet/shower spaces which is nice.
Free AT&T Wi-Fi in the room as well.
The staff was friendly and helpful. Getting my car from the valet took less than three minutes...
My stay at the Paramount was a very pleasant and positive experience.

Stayed here for a business trip.

Water in my room was cloudy, it sputtered out and had a faint odd smell. When I asked for a room change the guy behind the counter was being helpful until he asked for help from the manager. That lady was not friendly or helpful and wanted to charge extra for the room change. Whatever, Im only going to sleep tonite checkout out in the morning.

At 1am the fire alarms went off and the building was evacuated via the stairs. Hung out in the frigid night air for about an hour before people wandered back to their rooms. At no point were we told what was going on, whether to stay out or head back in. I asked the night person at the front-desk, he said he didnt know what was going on but to go ahead and go back to my room (??!!) He didnt know the cause for the alarm but I should head back to the room?

Chatting with the firemen that arrived later they mentioned the fire alarm had been triggered but didnt know how. Maybe because of the renovations going on on the second floor. It was also the second time this week the alarm had gone off in the middle of the night.

Needless to say I will not be staying there in the future.

looking for something reasonably priced, in a convenient location to the pike place market area where i could show my 15 y/o daughter why i loved living in seattle (albeit 20 years ago).  found the paramount on line and with the encouragement of the yelp reviews, we booked a room.  turned out to be perfect.  rooms were comfy, staff was nice, check in dust free.  there's a sushi bar restaurant off the lobby that was really busy although we didn't try it.  parking was 30ish a night, but since i knew we would bus or walk, we didn't pick up the car until sat night and after 6, street parking is free until monday at 8 am.  car pick up at the westin 2 blocks away.  all worked out great and would stay there again!  free wifi a plus!

I had booked rooms for seven of my girlfriends and myself for my birthday weekend. Not three days after booking the rooms I canceled at the Paramount because we found a place where we could all be in one room. A month went by and I get my credit card statement and low and behold- Paramount Hotel charged me!
I called them, didn't have my confirmation but remembered the name of the person I spoke to when canceling, also remembered the date I canceled and would they correct their mistake? Nope. Not to mention they were so rude and unfriendly throughout the whole conversation.  Believe me, there are better places to stay in Seattle.

Lovely hotel, well maintained, only 1 block from the convention center and well within walking distance to all the Flagship stores (Macy's, Norstrom, Niketown), as well as Westlake Center and Pacific Place. Stayed on the 9th floor, could hear a lot of siren noise, and the view was nothing special...but... Room was exceptionally clean.  Didn't like that there was no microwave and the fridge was pretty small and not very cold (couldn't get the quick chill feature to work)...the closet door wouldn't stay shut either.  But with a king-size bed, huge shower and all the personal amenities someone could ask for, it was a great stay.

Recently my parents popped in for a visit on the same weekend My Lady and I had tix to a concert up in Seattle; had it just been the two of us we'd have done an up-and-back drive, but with my parents in town we decided to make a weekend trip of it.

Due to the last-minute nature of our trip, there weren't a whole lot of options where we could get a pair of rooms in a prime downtown location - my first choice ( yelp.com/biz/mayflower-p… ) was fully booked, but we found the Paramount Hotel on Orbitz (curiously Expedia listed it as fully booked) and was only slightly more expensive.

The location is actually not bad at all. Located on Pine St, you can stroll down to all the shopping, restaurants, and central downtown businesses, or up to the Capitol Hill, First Hill, or the Lake Union area.

The hotel was rather nondescript from the outside, and the smallish lobby was pleasant, but didn't really wow me. Once I stepped into my room however I was quite impressed!

The rooms were obviously renovated in recent years, and have a fresh, modern yet tasteful decor. Nice features like large, flat panel TVs, all the phones being cordless, bedside clock with MP3 input, and attractive furnishings, counters, and fixtures make for quite luxurious accommodations. it lacked the charm of some other more interestingly decorated "boutique" hotels, but was definitely a pleasant place to spend the night!

We didn't have much of a view, looking out towards a freeway overpass, but since we spent so little time in the room it really wasn't a big deal.

The bed was nice and firm, with a comfy pillow-top mattress, and the seating and desk was nice. The power outlets pop up, so they are out of the way when you don't need them. Unfortunately, they do charge a daily fee for Wi-Fi, which I think is really pretty weak in a $120+/night room; but most other hotels seem to charge for this service as well, though the Mayflower Park hotel offers free Wi-Fi!

As most downtown hotels, the Paramount offers only valet parking, and with tax it came to about $37 per 24 hour period - with my parents in tow, we bit the bullet and for convenience sake just paid it rather than look for a cheaper pay-lot with a few blocks walk.

Overall I'd give the Paramount a mild recommendation, and if you like the high end amenities this is a pretty decent value. In the end though, I'd still rather stay at the Mayflower Park in an attractive room that's more my style, slightly more centralized downtown location, free Wi-Fi, more personable service, and even save a few $$.

Nice and cute hotel located on 8th Ave, which is a short walk to Pike Place Market and the other restaurants/shopping areas around Seattle downtown. The rooms are nice and clean but kinda small. The staff are nice. I'm not that picky with hotels as long as it's clean and doesn't have bugs. :)

Since my brother was sick and got me sick, we spent a large part of our week in Seattle bedridden at the Paramount Hotel. Unfortunately, the beds weren't terribly comfortable for either of us. Can't quite put my finger on it but there was just something off about them. Otherwise, the room was really nice - the bathroom, the television, the view. We also have valet car service the whole time, which was super convenient. The hotel is in walking distance to a bunch of shops and a market. Also convenient was  the Dragonfish Cafe downstairs, which we ordered room service from and visited at Happy Hour. The stay was nice and affordable, even with the weird beds. If I could change anything I'd only wish I had spent LESS time at the hotel being sick.

An excellent value, great location, and comfortable beds.

The Paramount Hotel is an affordable offering in downtown Seattle that offers more than adequate service and rooms. Located within walking distance to all the major shopping in the downtown core, as well as Pike Place Market, leaving your car parked with professional valet service is a viable option.

Food options are rampant with Dragonfish located next to the hotel lobby and Cheesecake Factory and Ruth's Chris just a hop, skip, and a jump away.

I will definitely look to The Paramount Hotel as a top option whenever I have plans to stay in Seattle.

Okay, so got this room on Hotwire for $104. Great deal for the location downtown. Made a night of it at places around the hotel; a good night!
Room is modern, comfortable bed, nice big TV, robes to wear, and bathroom was wheelchair capable so had a cool walk in shower-no tub though.
We got a room on the corner with two windows-one facing a little park area with trees the other looking down over the dumpster(we closed that drape).
Other than the dumpster view, great room and friendly efficient service at the desk at check in and check out(which wasn't until noon)!
$20 overnight hotel parking across the street in a well lit lot on a busy street; seemed pretty safe and less than the $29.00 for valet.

This hotel seems really nice on paper, lots of good reviews, but I was severely underwhelmed.  The front desk staff was very nice except for one woman who just acted bored whenever I asked her a question.

The rooms were nice but upon closer inspection there were a lot of issues.  The bathtub had a huge dent in it that had spidered out to about the size of a golfball, it was in a spot that to me looks like someone slipped and fell and hit their head there and crushed it.  I don;t know why they wouldn't fix that, it seems ominous.

The HBO on the tv didn't work, you could hear what was on but the picture didn't come up.  I wasn't there long enough to want to complain about it.  The was no minibar.  NOTHING.  There was an empty fridge and that was it.  What kind of modern hotel does not have a minibar in this day and age?!  When I asked about them getting me a cab, I was told to go on one of the corners and find one, not exactly first rate service.

I didn't have room service but the restaurant downstairs was pretty low budget.  The waiter didn't know enough to recommend anything.  The spring rolls tasted like the cabbage was starting to go off and they were overfried, they were almost black in spots.  One of the chicken satays was undercooked although the peanut sauce was nice, and the potstickers were just not that good tasting.  Not a place I would eat at again.

They did have free wifi in the room and that was great, but there really wasn't much else to recommend it.

The bellman who works during the day is so sweet and kind!! I don't think he has a mean bone in his body! The rooms are very clean and the hotel is in walking distance to all of the great attractions that Seattle has to offer. It is very affordable for my family to stay here!

I just finished my second stay at The Paramount Hotel for PAX Prime 2013. I have run into no negatives while staying there either time. The staff has been friendly and quick both times. The rate is very reasonable compared to other hotels in the area. The rooms are clean and comfortable. It's close to everything I came to Seattle for. I took Shuttle Express to get to and from the airport both times, so I skipped any parking issues. This will be where I stay if I come to PAX Prime next year, also. I guess that's endorsement enough!

Yay- Def a fan, it was reasonably priced (I got a AAA discount!), had a convenient location, and served as a good midpoint between all the places I wanted to see in Seattle.

Kind of wish they had a bar, but if you like Sushi, apparently their restaurant Dragonfish isn't bad!

I must say, I hate this hotel. I travel to Seattle twice/month and I will never be back. First of all there is a hell of a racket that goes on at 2am or 3am each night with the pipes that sounds as if someone is moving heavy furniture.
Also the fire alarm went off at 4am and we were forced to evacuate our rooms - most of us barefoot in flimsy hotel bathrobes down a filthy stairwell and deposited in the rain while the firefighters showed up to check out the false alarm that apparently happens 'all the time.'
Did they compensate us in any way for our trouble? No- just a 'oops sorry about that' over the intercom.
The negative experience began right when I arrived. At 6pm in the evening I had to wait a full 20 minutes for the front desk clerk to arrive back to his post just so I could check in. And when he did he could barely be bothered.
The best thing about this place are the valet guys- they seem to understand what customer service is all about... But that is certainly no reason to stay here

As a frequent Seattle visitor, this was my first time staying in the Downtown area, specifically the Paramount Hotel. I was by all means IMPRESSED. The rooms were nice, clean, and comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly, Lolita..you rock girl! The concierge on staff was not only helpful, but VERY friendly and always smiling. The valet was on point & always quick on service. & The housekeepers were lovely people who were always willing to make sure you had what you needed. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends in and out of WA. 5 stars!

    Will come here again!

The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was clean. There is a coffee maker and an empty refrigerator. The full length mirror in the room is nice. We were on the 4th floor facing the Hyatt so we didn't really have a view.

    The pros:

    - Convenient the location, walking distance to Pike Place Market (8 short blocks) and Bell Town.

    - Free coffee in the morning and apples in the afternoon

    - Beds are pretty comfy

    - Free Wifi (I didn't use it so I can't comment on it)

    The cons:

    - The gym was a joke. The treadmills were ok but the ellyptical machines were bad. One had wobbly paddles and the other one squeaked when you paddle. The weight machines are so packed together that you can't really move the weights. They do have free weights and a bench though so I used those instead.

    - The housekeeper walked in on me without knocking at 9 a.m. in the morning when I was getting ready to go in the shower. Not cool!

    - The walls are thin so it gets noisy.

    Conclusion:

Overall it was a good experience. I would stay there again.

Recently booked a stay at the Paramount via Hotwire for a night in Seattle.  I was really impressed with the hotel overall.  The people at the desk were very friendly and the room was ready three hours early.  There are apples on the front desk and coffee or water on a buffet in the lobby depending on the time of day.  The room was beautiful, clean, and the beds were super cozy.  Also thought that the bathroom was very nice, with excellent finishes, but was slightly annoyed that the soap/shampoo/conditioner was bolted to the wall at a height too high for someone taking a bath instead of a shower.  Excellent location-only a few blocks from Pike's Place market.  No trouble at all with excess pipe noise mentioned in some reviews-and the free wi-fi is always a plus!

Best thing about this hotel is the location. Prime location just steps away from the Paramount Theatre and tons of shopping. Just a few blocks up from Pike Market. Rooms are clean, but very basic. Restaurant next door is decent, but nothing truly special like they advertise. Our room and by the looks of it the lobby and other public areas were very clean. The valet were actually super friendly and got our car very quickly. I would have given this hotel four stars, except there was a funny smell in the room. The best I can do to describe it is to say that it had a dry cleaner smell to it. We would stay here again, but this is definitely not a spurge hotel, think basic and you won't be disappointed.

Stayed here for 3 nights.  Location is excellent.  So close to transportation, shopping, Pike's market.  The room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable.  Water and apples available in the lobby was a treat.  I used the gym once, and while small, worked well for me.  We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant and it was really good.  Would definitely stay at the Paramount hotel if/when we are back in Seattle!

Gorgeous hotel, we were tested graciously, they helped us find places to eat and or room was oh so much better than I had hoped. Clean, comfortable, huge windows, great view...I really was blown away because I got this room for a steal for sure. Parking is expensive, but we got the package with our room, and it was nice to be able to walk around town without fretting about the car. Will definitely stay here any time I'm in Seattle, they convinced me! Quick walk to pike placer market and to capitol hill.

Great value!  This hotel was the least expensive of the other hotels within a few block radius, so we booked mostly on price, and location.
    Awesome Location
It's only 3 blocks from the light rail (which you can take to the airport and Safeco Field), and within walking distance of every place we went in Seattle (art museum Capitol Hill, Pike's, ferry terminal, Space Needle), with the exception of Fremont and a brewery about 4 miles away that was next to nothing.  We went to Caffe Ladro across the street every morning for a great cup of coffee

    Awesome Room and Lobby
Comfy king bed, flat screen TV, coffee maker, small fridge, free USA today, great bath products (I'm a sucker for little shampoos!), FREE WI-FI IN THE ROOM!  I'm still shocked that there are places that charge for it, but many do.  The room was very quiet and we never heard anyone inside the hotel, though there was a loud garbage truck outside every morning (you're in the city, what do you expect).  Lobby was very cozy with chairs and a fireplace.   Bowl of fresh fruit on the front desk, and helpful staff.

The Dragonfish restaurant was just off the lobby, and while I never recommend restaurant hotels, this was a good place for late night drinking when no one wanted to walk anywhere.

This is a great hotel and I would for sure stay here again.  Highly recommended!

We just checked out of the Paramount hotel and I have to say we are sad to leave!! Accomodating staff, clean updated rooms, extremely comfortable beds with down pillows and comforters, granite bathroom countertops are all top amenities. We needed a litte extra time for checkout and it was no problem and no extra charge. The staff was friendly and took care of every need with smiles. I think one of the biggest benefits is the location five to ten minutes to everything nordstroms, Westlake center, pike place,  the monorail,  the lightrail, I could go on and on...oh and RuthChris is right across the street so with the affordable price of the hotel you can splurge on an incredible steak! We will be back to Paramount hotel for sure. ..

This is our home away from home when we are in Seattle.  I love the hotel!

Rooms are nice and clean.  We always get a double bed room because when we're in the area, we have our nieces and nephews stay the night in our room.  The staff here are super friendly starting from the front desk, to the valet guys, and even the older man that stands at the bell desk.  Now, he's a friendly man!  We always feel greeted with superior customer service every time we visit this hotel.

I love the fact that they have the Dragon Fish Sushi Restaurant right downstairs and has happy hour for sushi and beverages during certain hours.  This is truly convenient for a quick bite to eat or even a drink or two.

There is a gym on site that you can use without having to pay an extra fee.  Thank god for that!  As we all know, hotels LOVE to charge an additional fee for using their gym, you don't have to worry about that here.  It's a small gym, but nice to have on site, for sure!  The TV seems to always be set on some news or sports channel and we can't seem to change the channel, but whatever.  No big deal!  There are towels and a water machine available with vending machines just right outside the door.

Love that this hotel is convenient to downtown Seattle.  We also have Ruth's Chris Steakhouse across the street and within walking distance to everything you need in downtown.  Close to shopping and Pike's Place Market.  Can't wait to stay here during our next trip to Seattle!  Sign up for their Coast Rewards card so you can get points towards your next stay, it's free!

One of the main reasons I joined Yelp was to sing the praises of this amazing hotel! My boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend in Seattle and had a fantastic experience. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. When we checked into the hotel at 1AM, the manager could tell that we had a long travel day so gave us a corner room that was spacious and had a good view.

The location was great as its walking distance to Pikes Place, and affordable. I HIGHLY recommend staying here!

The Paramount is a great hotel.  I was met with consistently friendly and helpful service while I was there. Because of the timing of my flights, they were able to arrange a VERY early check-in, and a late check-out  - and even then, were willing to hold my luggage for a couple hours after I'd checked out, until I was ready to leave for the airport.

My room was extremely clean...and was furnished with one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in.  From some of the reviews I'd read, I was hoping for the room to be a little less "hotel-y" and a little more "boutique-y," but that was just a matter of personal preference.  The room had large mirrors, a nice desk to work at, and windows that opened over downtown.  It's a random thing to compliment, but they also had the best blackout curtains I've ever seen in a hotel.  I slept in til about 11 on one of the days, and I could have sworn it was still the middle of the night, it was so dark.

On Saturday night, a large group had booked about half of the floor I was on, and were making a LOT of noise until about 3am. I had friends over, and we were up later than they were (tho, much quieter), but if I had been trying to sleep, it would have been very annoying. I do get the feeling that I was the only other one on the floor, and that if I had called down to complain, the staff would have done something about it.

Either way, I will actively try and stay at the Paramount the next time I'm in Seattle.  It's a short walk away from just about everything there is to do downtown, and I really couldn't beat the price.

We had a work conference at the Seattle Convention Center, and the Paramount Hotel is *very* convenient to it - just literally a couple blocks away.  It's boutique-y, cute, has great, lotion/shampoo/conditioner in the room (I love those kinds of things!), nice service, a good restaurant in the hotel (I had room service breakfast before heading to my conference each day and enjoyed it so much - great coffee!).

And I loved that the hotel is so close to shopping (H&M within blocks!), restaurants (Cheesesteak Factory is around the corner, Ruth Chris steakhouse is across the street), coffee shops, Pike Market (5-6 blocks away) - great location!!  And it was a quick cab ride to the Space Needle too where we had dinner one evening.

It's clean, relatively quiet for being downtown, there's a gym, business center, newspaper in the morning, a cozy fireplace lobby with comfy chairs.

If I were there for a conference again or wanted to hang out downtown during my stay, I would pick the Paramount again!

Nice location! Clean and updated rooms. Staff is polite. Reason for three stars is I booked two rooms adjacent to each other because I had a family of four. I specifically asked for that in the reservation but when I arrived they didn't accommodate out request. We had to cancel the other room and four of us stay in one room which was very tight for us. Other reason was housekeeping woke us up twice in a row at 815 am! People who go on vacation like to stay asleep and being woken up so housekeeping can do the rooms according to their convenience is not something I desire in a hotel

The first hotel review and it's under my belt now.  Hotels and HBO cable should go hand in hand.  Usually I don't get a chance to stay in the hotel long enough to enjoy what's available but this time I had some time and in a hotel, good TV channels are an important aspect in preventing complete boredom.

This location is great and we got a great deal online on their website. Free valet parking each night. Now thats a deal considering parking is not the cheapest. I can walk to most of the shops and there is a mall one block away. 24hr fitness is a hop skip and a jump...well not really but u get it. I did a short run to get there. I really liked my stay her more than most hotels i've been to. The front desk was really helpful and valet was always quick and friendly. In general everyone was really happy and helpful. The mornings the coffee was always on in the front lobby and and apple/banana/cookies  to take if u like.
The beds were comfy and free wifi( which worked really well) . The towels were decent and the room a good size. The price of the room was a good deal. I wll be more than happy to stay again.

I've started staying here pretty often for work purposes, which have me flying out to Seattle anywhere from 4-8 times per year.

The location is pretty convenient, though you will definitely need to valet. Parking in that area of Seattle is pretty crummy.

The beds are super comfortable. The bathrooms are laid out well. Since they replaced the desk chairs - I love those now too. And who doesn't love complimentary WiFi?

Dragonfish is one of my favorite places to eat Sushi in Seattle, so definitely check it out. You can also save a few bucks by ordering downstairs and waiting for it, and you can still charge the bill back to your room. Breakfast is not as great, especially for the price, but in a pinch it'll work.

My biggest complaint - the price of the valet. Though I'm not having to pay for it (work is), it means that if I'm staying for a few extra days for pleasure - I'll probably end up staying at the Silver Cloud Stadium, or somewhere else with cheaper valet costs. Though to be fair - the Paramount's price is with in & out privileges, and they are comparable to other hotels in the immediate area.

All-in-all, it's great for my work stays, and the customer service is solid. If I'm traveling for pleasure - I'd probably book elsewhere.

The only really redeeming part about this hotel is the location. It's in a very good spot so you can get everywhere by walking. They definitely charge you a much higher fee for this aspect of it though. The rooms are small as are the bathrooms and shower. I was here for a conference that started very early and I couldn't even eat breakfast at the hotel which is ridiculous given how much you pay per night. Room service won't serve breakfast until 7am and when you're there for work you may need to eat earlier. If that's the case you're out of luck! I recommend olive 8 next door.

Good customer service (Best served by the sweet concierge!)
    Valet Parking was $30/day
Booked package with valet + 2 Tickets to Space Needle & it was well worth it.
Stayed with 2 kids and location was just close enough for walking to the waterfront, getting to the monorail, and shopping.
Restaurant hotel is good (not ideal for kids but doable).

Everything at this hotel was great, my only complaint, and it could have been a major one, was that we never got the wake up call we asked for.
Other than that, this place was perfect, we tried to check in early (very early as we had just gotten off a cruise) and expected that nothing would be ready, but the desk clerk (who was super friendly) managed to find us a room right away.
We headed up to the 7th floor, and were lucky to be in a corner room, it was huge, the room had everything you would expect (a nice desk, a comfy chair, a very large bathroom with branded products)

The tv was a nice flat screen, sad that they didn't get our favorite channel (the Food Network) but the selection was very good none the less.
As mentioned before, we were lucky enough to be in a corner room, and there were large windows on each wall, and they opened!! this made for a great cross breeze.
We only stayed one night, and when we left the bell hop got us an SUV cab to the airport.
I would definitely stay here again, next time though, I would use the alarm clock for the alarm only, instead of turning on the radio.

There is a small convenience store a block and a half away so you can stock your little frig.

I'm a little bit exhausted from writing Seattle reviews, so please forgive the list format and my distanced memories.

    CONS:
-The shower pressure is not great
    -The walls are thin-ish
-It's a short hotel (11 floors, I think?) so there's really no such thing as getting a room with a view.  You're surrounded by city buildings.
-Drinks at the hotel restaurant are pretty expensive (but - a pro - you can bring them up to your room!)
-The fitness center has outdated equipment, one of each type.  There is no remote or way to adjust the TV.  I wanted to watch something on my iphone so I had to drag a weight bench over to stand on to be able to reach the TV to turn it off.
-The door keys don't work all that well.  Had to try multiple times to get into both our room and the fitness center.
-While the front desk was always very friendly, we had only one question during our stay - which was where the closest liquor store was that was open past 9pm - and the only thing the front desk person could mention was the supermarket in Capitol Hill a ways away.  Upon returning to my computer, I found multiple liquor stores that were slightly closer, and open at that time.  Boo to misinformation.

    PROS:
-The location for the price is absolutely where it's at.  You're right in the middle of everything you'd want to see as a tourist in Seattle.  Literally - smack damn in the middle of it all.  The center of the wheel, with spokes to downtown/Pike Place, Capitol Hill, Belltown, Pioneer Sq., etc.  You're also just a few blocks from the best latte ever (Monorail Espresso).  There's a public parking lot right across the street, a Hertz rental the next block over should you need to rent/return, and you're 2 blocks from the light rail station that takes you to the airport.
-Having just come from Anacortes where we got a huge gorgeous room with lots of fancy things (balcony, soaking tub, cushy bathrobes, lots of tv channels, etc.) for a little less money, at first this felt like a rip off, but in reality, it's the cheapest NICE hotel of it's kind in that area (without a pool).
-The room was CLEAN, and the windows open.
    -The bed was SUPER comfortable.
-I called to say it was our first real vacation as a couple and they put us on the highest floor they could for our room type (9th floor, Traditional King Room), and gave us a corner room which I think was a little bit bigger.
-Their typical checkout is 12pm, which is pretty late for standard hotels, so that was nice!  They kept our bags tagged in a locked storage room while we spent the day out, returning around 8pm to get our stuff for our red-eye home.

Bottom Line:  This is probably the best, cheapest, nice hotel to stay in downtown Seattle, but don't expect any frills.  It's clean, and everything will work, and you'll be comfortable, but you probably won't be wow-ed unless you spend more money.

Just checked in. The lobby is very nice and inviting. The room was clean, although the carpets could stand to be steam cleaned. My best friend is getting engaged here tonight and we've asked the staff four times to remove the tray of dirty dishes that are present right after you walk off the elevator on our floor, and nothing has been done. They've been here for five hours. That's just really unprofessional.

Managed to get a great deal on booking.com after a booking fiasco with The Edgewater. So glad that happened, as we loved The Paramount. Great location five blocks from market and close to good shopping, Well decorated public areas and guest rooms. Friendly front desk staff. The bathroom layout was excellent...shower and toilet in one room, sink outside of that door so two people can get ready concurrently. Even the wall mirror in the room had a light and shelf so one could get ready/put on make up there. Had the amenities of a high end hotel -- great towels, bathrobes, nice sheets. Will certainly stay again!

Not sure why this place is such a "gem."  Def. not a hotel for out of town business trips.

First, if you have to be someplace at 8am you can't use the room service as it "starts"'at 7am...which means the earliest you will get it is 7:30am which means you have to eat in 5 min. so you can make it to your 8am meeting.

Second, if you need to utilize the free "high speed" wifi you will be disappointed.  It''s slower than dial up...it will take you 5 minutes to log into any kind of bank account if it even loads.  Forget making any kind of monetary business transactions.

Lastly, on a Monday night...not Friday....a Monday....at a bar half full, the bartender over at the connected restaurant told us to "get a table" because he won't be able to get to us...right....

And who the heck doesn't broadcast in HD?  The tv's come in very blurry.

I stayed at the Paramount Hotel this week and I was so incredibly happy. I really needed a vacation, albeit a short one, and Alaska had really cheap airfare from Oakland to Seattle, my favorite city. I booked from Booking.com , which was nice because when I got there my room was all paid for, I only had to pay a $50 deposit. I picked an "executive room", and it was fantastic. My view looked right down Pine street, towards Pike's market. I was only on the fourth floor, but I couldn't have been happier. The tub was huge, the bed was comfy, and it was really beautiful. I've stayed downtown before, but next time I need a vacation this is where I'm going! Thank you folks so much for such a wonderful, much needed relaxing time!

We chose the Paramount for the first few nights of our WA vacation since it was so centrally located for the exploration of the downtown areas. It's just a short two block walk from the Westgate Link Rail station, so we saved on the cost of a rental car and pricey cab ride to the hotel from Sea-Tac.
The rooms, like many older luxury hotels, were smallish but very comfortable. The king size bed took up a lot to the space, but we weren't planning on spending too much time there anyway. The service was excellent, including suggestions for breakfast (Urbane, 1 block north), coffee (Ladro Caffe, across the street) and dinner (Loulay, about 3-4 blocks away). Pikes Market is a short 15 minute walk, but that would depend on how many shops catch you eye on the way to the piers.
All in all we were pleased with the hotel. The Dragonfish Asian Cafe, in the hotel, has a terrific HH menu, but get there early, the place fills up fast with the locals (always a good sign).

The staff are very attentive here. This hotel has an excellent location and is well worth the cost compared to the other neighbouring places to stay, shop around for a better deal online.

The good: Dragonfish is fantastic. The room was clean. The location is great.

The weird: The tubs are coffin shaped. The pillows are  1/2 of a standard size. The television is big and new, but doesn't get in anything in HD.

The bad: The front desk staff has a really hard time reading notes. Specifically the kind of notes where your room is supposed to be paid for by a pre-arranged card.

Even though you've called and had confirmations sent to you via email.

When it happened the first time, the guy at the front desk kind of apologized, gave me an "Oh well" look, and after determining there was nothing to be done until tomorrow, gave me my key. He didn't even offer to have my bags sent up for me, and I felt like I was not welcome there at all.

You can skip the to the last paragraph here if reading about billing disputes isn't your thing.

I then spent 2 days- and missed conference panels- going between the hotel and my bank trying to get things situated, only to have the same thing happen a second time upon check out.

Two days after checking out the situation will hopefully be resolved After the hours I spent on this- and especially after the initial mistake (which really upset me & held up hundreds of dollars I would have rather been pumping into other places in Seattle)- you would have thought they could have upgraded my room or sent up a formal note of apology instead of just saying, "We're really sorry" over the phone.

Pro tip hotel managers: When you hear "I am sorry" for the 7th time, you aren't really affected by it. Also, I had to do all the calling. No one ever called me to follow up or even just to make sure my stay was going ok despite the issues.

I finally had to ask that maybe they could refund my _one day_ of parking. But for the hours it has taken of my time to sort out this mess, I honestly feel like billing them for time lost.

The entire debacle and the way I was initially treated gave me the clear impression that no one there cares; they are getting paid either way and hours out of my day aren't their problem. Which is why I decided to write this review. I normally love to share my positive experiences with the places I visit, and wish I could have done so here- I just want to share my story with travelers who might be staying here on a corporate account (or maybe a family member wants to treat you).... No matter how many confirmations and double checking you do, you're still at the mercy of the front desk staff bothering to read the notes on your account.

We stayed here to be close to other out-of-owners in a wedding party. Our corner executive king room was lovely, with windows on two sides one of which faced the street while the other looked out on a large tree. The room was spotlessly clean. The bathroom, with separate tub (lovely bath accoutrements as you can see in the photos) and shower (a bit smallish but ok) and private toilet room was one of the nicest hotel bathrooms we've seen. The bed was comfortable. The fridge had two complimentary bottles of water, much appreciated, and two bottles of Jones soda, but as was explained to us these were not restocked unless we ordered replacements which we did not. Would have greatly preferred one or two bottles of water per night and no soda. Wifi was free and worked very well. The valet parking fee of $32 per night was steep, but the car was retrieved very quickly every time we requested it. Location is fantastic, close to everything. About the only negative was our room service order the first night from Dragonfish, the sushi restaurant downstairs. Two bento boxes and one tiny creme brûlée for $50 would be ok if the bento boxes were reasonable. But the portions of steak and salmon were minuscule and some elements like the singapore noodles were just not very good. The creme brûlée was actually very good but the ramekin was tinier than any I've seen. Would stay there again no problem but dine elsewhere.

The staff was awesome! Hank is a total sweetheart!  The hotel is nice,  clean,  across the street from Ruths Chris, a few blocks from the mall and Pike St. But the beds. Oh, I didn't want to get out the bed! Pillow top, feather pillows and a down comforter. Heaven! AND the windows  actually  open,  not all the way,  but real, live fresh air! Loved everything but the $38 valet fee

    Excellent hotel for the price.

The location is great. The staff is professional, friendly and courteous. The lobby might look a bit underwhelming but the room is comfortable. Nice bathroom with shower and a decent size tub. They really do treat Expedia elites like VIPs.

If you are a traveler looking for simple upscale comfort and not too worried about extra 4/5 stars amenities, this is the perfect hotel for the Seattle downtown stay.

Hotel itself was great. Conveniently located. Rooms were nice. 90 percent of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The reason I'm giving it two stars is because my girlfriend bought bath bombs from a store called Lush so that she could take a nice relaxing bath, the hotel was apparently changing all the sheets in the room that day so even if you had a do not disturb sign on your door they would still go into your room. Well, my girlfriend left the black paper Lush bag with all the merchandise she bought in the bathroom next to the tub, with everything inside of it still wrapped. So we went out for the day and came back around midnight and the bag was gone. So I told her to call the front desk to let them know that the room service most likely mistook the bag for trash since it was a paper bag on the floor in the bathroom. The girl at the front desk at that time was very nice and had my girlfriend leave a message with the room service manager, with the promise of her getting back to us and no matter what they'll make it right. So the next morning my girlfriend called again because the room service manager didn't call us. So the guy who answered the phone sounded concerned and said he would look into it. Then we talked to the girl at the front desk and gave her our number so she could call us with any news. So she called us five minutes later and said they talked to the room service and no one knew anything. Ok fine they most likely have different staff maybe the person who took it wasn't in for work yet. My girlfriend asked if it possible if someone could just glance in the trash bin (if it was easy) so the girl said she would call us back. She called us back and said, "the room service doesn't take anything from anyone's room, so I don't know what to tell you." No she's making it seem like we're making this up. So they don't take trash from anyone's room? That's taking stuff from the room. We're not saying someone stole it. Maybe they did we don't know but in our  minds it was just a mistake. I get it. It was most likely a mistake and they thought it was trash, no big deal. But the fact that now they're trying to cover up a mistake they made, an understandable mistake, and basically make it seem like nobody knows what your talking about so I'm sorry we're not going to even try to help you. They were most likely like hey room service did you take this bag from this room? and room service was probably like no I didn't steal anything. It was most likely lack of communication and lack of willingness to help. It was only thirty dollars worth of stuff, I just went back to the store and bought everything again. (Which was fine) it's the fact that the hotel didn't even try to get this resolved in any way. They didn't even try to apologize for anything they just basically said we don't know what your talking about and left it at that. I won't stay here again for that reason. It's morals and higher standards. If your gonna act like a big nice hotel at least treat everyone that way with every situation. I'm very tempted to give it one star for the way they made us feel during this whole deal but not all of the staff were like this.

Fantastic staff and a sophisticated, cozy ambiance in our well-appointed room. And the room service from Dragonfish Restaurant was very good and not too outrageously priced. Even though they do not allow dogs, I'm a fan and I would recommend it to friends.

The Paramount's location is close to everything. If you're a walker, you'll love this place. The room was very large, as was the bathroom. Nice and comfortable beds. Our room faced one of the streets (Pine?) and that turned out to be a bummer because the garbage guys came to pick up around 5 am and woke us all up. Did not try the restaurant at the Paramount so cannot comment. The only kicker we had with this hotel was the rug was dirty, the box springs on both beds were torn and the garbage wasn't emptied the second day we stayed.

You are going to find a lot of homeless people in the downtown area, so don't be shocked at what you see.

Would probably rebook here because the rate was cheap. The desk people were very very accommodating and apologized profusely when we told them about the trash not being emptied which was corrected instantly.

This is a decent hotel that is less than a mile walking distance to Pike. Nice little walk to have when you are bloated from all the food so it was a pretty good location. You are a five minute walk from all the shops you can imagine and less than a mile for a bunch of happy hours and restaurants. The room is nice and spacious so nothing to complain. I compared this to the Paramount in Portland and Portland is a lot nicer, cleaner and more spacious. Both have a gym but the Seattle one seems more outdated even though it has a few more equipment  options and is more spacious. Location is legit so I would recommend it.

This is one of my husband and my favorite hotel to stay! I really can't believe their prices compared to the wonderful service and the location. You can walk to just about everything, even the public transit system. There's also a decent sushi restaurant downstairs and they have great happy hour. Not the best restaurant, but it's convenient. The bed is so comfortable, also one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've slept on. The curtains also draw completely so that no light comes in. We were so sad they were completely booked during our trip to Seattle. See you guys next time!

I recently stayed at the Paramount hotel for a two day business conference that I had to attend in Seattle.  I recommend if you're flying into SeaTac airport to take the light rail as I did for $2.75 which drops you off at Westlake station which is two blocks from the Paramount.  The alternative is a $50 taxi or renting a car and fighting through traffic so I highly recommend the light rail.

The hotel is conveniently close to everything in the downtown area (at least in terms of tourist attractions and shopping).  In addition to the light rail there is also a monorail that runs to the Seattle Center which has the EMP museum, Chihuly Gardens, etc...

As for the hotel itself, it's a bit on the small side only 11 stories I believe but I kind of liked it because it was quiet and I never had to wait on line for an elevator or to check in or out.  The rooms were comfortable, clean and the rates were pretty good compared to the other hotels in the area.  I did have dinner one night at the Dragonfish restaurant attached to the hotel and that was pretty good and reasonably priced.  Overall, the Paramount is a solid choice if you're visiting the Seattle area.

Excellent hotel for the price and location! The Paramount is conveniently located to everything a tourist might want to see. Literally, in the middle of everything. You're about 3 blocks away from the Seattle Monorail, which takes you to the Seattle Center (Space Needle, EMP Museum, and Chihuly Gardens).  You're also walking distance away from the Downtown shopping area, Pike Place Market, Capitol Hill, and Pioneer Square.

The hotel is not a huge hotel (not compared to the Hilton, Radisson, Marriott, etc.) but I actually liked it a lot because it's not that big.  I didn't rent a car, only caught a taxi from the airport to the hotel, which was about a 25 minute ride.  The hotel rates were also pretty good compared to the other hotels in the area.

Service was impeccable.  The staff was knowledgeable, professional, and super friendly.  As soon as we arrived, there was an older man that greeted us and gave us so many complimentary booklets on what to do, where to go, what to see, and where to eat.  At first, I was skeptical about him, but then noticed that he was just being...friendly.  The lobby was also cozy with some couches and a fireplace.

The hallways were super quiet, the beds were super comfortable and the rooms (both spacious and clean) had a flat screen TV, coffee maker, small fridge, and free working WiFi!!  Nothing better than working WiFi! They also have a small gym that you can use, free of charge.  We did not have lunch or dinner at Dragonfish, the restaurant adjacent to the hotel, but we did have breakfast there.  The food was fine and reasonably priced.

Overall, the Paramount is highly recommended if you're visiting the Seattle area.  It's a great hotel and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

The room: Nice! Bathroom was spacious with nice size soaking tub. The bed was very comfortable. And the tv was a good size. Nice view as well. But we had to have our refrigerator replaced during our stay Cuz it wasn't working. It's hard to relax when there is a stranger in your room fixing something that should have been done already.
The location: Incredible. Pretty central to most of the hot spots in Seattle so your walk is never too far.
The hotel: Beautifully designed and very clean.
The staff: The bell station and valet were very nice and friendly. Very accommodating and always smiling. However, the front desk staff were not always friendly and in a sense were slightly condescending when speaking to you. It was hit and miss depending on who you got to take care of you.

Friendly staff, quiet room, operable windows, fantastic climate controls (the "fan" setting is a great option on a nice cool night- it sucks in the lovely fresh cool outside air- perfect for 40f nights). Housekeeping came reliably at around 9am which is very much my preference. I only used the fitness centre once, preferring to take my 10,000++ steps each day in the challengingly hilly neighbourhoods in Seattle, but when I did it was clean as a whistle with very good well-maintained equipment.

The location could not be better. Three blocks, perhaps a five minute walk, to the light rail station means a cheap and fast train ride to and from the airport. In one direction is downtown and Pike Place; in the other are the delights of Capital Hill.

I will absolutely stay here again.
