My boyfriend and I took a quick, romantic trip to Lake Geneva, WI from Chicago... We were looking to get away and relax and we were lucky enough to come across Maria's Bed & Breakfast. Our room was cozy and quaint and the bed was sinfully comfortable. The bathroom boasted a large jacuzzi tub that was a perfect way to escape the "spring" snow flurries outside... It was lovely. Maria was friendly, attentive and welcoming and made us feel very much at home. Our breakfast the following morning was fantastic... German-born Maria is an AMAZING cook and made us the most amazing peach crepes from fresh peaches she jammed herself. I do believe my boyfriend was momentarily considering leaving me for Maria upon hearing that she also makes Schnitzel... ; ) It was a wonderful stay and we look forward to returning very soon. With such a short drive from Chicago and promises of Maria's hospitality and cooking, there is no reason not to. It felt like home!

My husband and I just spent 2 nights at Maria's B & B  in Lake Geneva and what a delightful surprise.  The 'Black Forest' cottage was perfect,  romantic and fully stocked from bathroom essentials to candles by the bedroom jacuzzi.  We chose this place because it was dog friendly, our little furry guy loved it. We also enjoyed the fresh air and walks, and it is so close to the lake/downtown.  What made the stay so special was the homemade delicious  breakfast by Maria (out of this world) and the warm hospitality from her and Edwin....What can I say, it was priceless.  They are a gem and Lake Geneva is a better place because of this B&B.  Thank you for the wonderful memories, we had a great time!

I cannot say enough about this wonderful, darling little B&B in Lake Geneva. I found Maria's online, on accident, for the PJ20 music festival this month. My husband and I wanted something relatively inexpensive but not as cold as a Super 8. Well, we found it. The room we got had a private shower and was clean as a whistle. There were toiletries, clean towels, clean sheets and little candies in dishes all over the room. There were even fresh baked cookies and chocolates waiting for us on the little tea table in front of the bed. Maria herself was sweet, attentive and lively, not to mention a fantastic cook (she even makes vegan breakfasts)!! We are already planning our next trip up to stay in the cottage. Thanks to Maria, our trip was 10 x better than we could have hoped.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Maria's this past fall. Neither of us have ever been to a bed and breakfast so this was a real treat. We decided to stay here because the prices were reasonable. From start to finish, Maria and Edwin were very hospitable and friendly. When we arrived, we found out that we were the only guests so we were "upgraded" to the larger suite that had the Jacuzzi tub. It was nice being the only ones there because we didn't have to share a bathroom or worry about bumping into someone late at night. Our suite was very quaint. The part I liked the best was the vines that grew around the windows. The leaves had just started changing and they looked so pretty as you looked out the window.

When we arrived Maria asked us what type of breakfast we would like in the morning. She ended up making us stuffed French toast (apricot) with muffins, sausage and fresh fruit and juice. Everything was really good. During breakfast, they both sat with us and offered suggestions on where to go for the day.

At the time there was a for sale sign on the lawn. It looks like the website is still active so I am unsure if they actually sold the property.
