I am very happy with this hotel after my 2 night stay (Fri and Sat). Location is close to the airport yet my room was very quiet. The room felt very luxurious and the bed was comfortable. The on-site lounge is friendly and very reasonable, especially on discount Friday. Considering the price, this hotel is really a good value.

On the negative side, the bathroom counter space was limited and there is no mini-fridge in the room.

I'd give this place 2.5 stars if I could. The road construction outside and the exterior of the hotel made me want to cancel my reservation immediately, but the lobby and bar area looked surprisingly nice. However, the patio door in my room did not completely shut, thereby allowing the howling wind to whistle and keep me up all night. I had to resort to blasting the loud heater to muffle the horrible windstorm noise. I'd rather stay at the Hilton Garden Inn next time I'm in town for business, where the roads are smoother, the rooms are quieter and I get a free breakfast.

From the outside, you wouldn't guess this hotel is so nice. It has clearly had extensive upgrades, with red and black color palettes in the rooms. The towels in the bathroom are of top quality, and there is extensive dark granite used throughout. A nice touch. The bed was super comfortable, and the rooms were decent sized, not huge but big enough. The desk was on the smaller side though. The free wifi throughout the hotel was reliable and relatively quick.

Lobby areas and the bar area were very modern and classy. I would definitely stay here again, the rate was about half the price of the like quality hotels I have stayed in like this.

We had our wedding here. We looked at several places and not only did the Crowne had the best coordinator around, they accommodated all of our requests. Since the wedding, we are still hearing how great the hotel, food, and staff was. They know what they are doing!!

I would say this is the best hotel near the airport.  Very nice rooms and great wifi in all the hotel.  The downstairs bar has an older gentleman bartender that rocks.  I can't remember the last time I saw a bartender check every glass he was serving wine in.  Attention to detail is important and I wish more bartenders followed suite

I chose this Crowne Plaza because I was looking for a nice hotel that was within walking distance to the College Ave. Park & Ride.  (I took the bus to Summerfest and I didn't want to drive afterwards.)

It met my location requirements perfectly.  The parking was a standard lot like I expect when I stay  at a hotel that is not in a downtown area.  I hate paying for parking.

The public areas of the hotel were classy and checkin went smoothly.  They even accommodated a 12PM checkin time which is 3 hours earlier than their stated checkin time.  I wanted to get checked into before my day at Summerfest.

Entering my room on the 4th floor, the first thing I noticed is that it was warm and humid which gave it a funny smell.  I know they are trying to reduce costs, but at least keep the A/C on at a lower setting to avoid that kind of first impression.

The furnishings in the room were nice and new looking.  The bed was large with plenty of pillows.  Everything was clean.  The mattress was a little firm for my taste, but it is a hotel, they cannot please everyone on such a personal thing.  It did not affect my sleep negatively.

What did affect my sleep was the loud A/C unit.  I know that the wall mounted units are standard for hotels, but the cycling on and off so close to the bed always wakes me up.  I wish they could make those things quieter.  On the bright side, the wall thermostat let me set it to a nice comfortable sleeping temperature and it did a good job of keeping it there.

The bathroom is tiny and poorly laid out.  I found myself wondering if this hotel had previously been a more economical brand.  Everything was clean and modern, but it was so cramped.  The toilet was right next to the shower controls, so you have to work around it to turn on the water.  The sink had zero counter space to work with.  My wife has a whole collection of stuff that she likes to have in the bathroom and there was absolutely no place to put it.

The toilet was the loudest I have heard in a hotel.  Each flush was like a crack of thunder in the tiny space.  After the first time, I would call out "By the power of Grayskull" before each flush because I felt like I was summoning the gods or something.  But ironically, this toilet seemed unable to harness this power to do anything useful as it often took 2 or 3 flushes to get the job done.

There is free Wi-Fi and a desk in the room.  I sat down and prepared to write this review only to find that the desk is unusable due to its height.  It made it impossible to type comfortably on my laptop.  So here I sit on the chair/ottoman combination in the corner.

Overall, the Crown Plaza Hotel - Milwaukee Airport as an OK experience.  I gave it 3 stars, but I am leaning towards 2.5 due to all the little inconveniences.  I might stay here again if I was in the area, but only because of the convenient location.

3.5 stars if I could.  It was a nice hotel in a convenient location with better than expected rooms and amenities.

However, I wasn't a fan of that fact that we arrived well past their 3PM check in time and had to wait for a room. This seems to be a trend for the Intercontinental Hotels Group (read my review on the Intercontinental in Scottsdale, AZ).

The restaurtant is Altitude - they have a limited but high quality and fairly priced menu.
The decor is great, modern and the staff attentive and professional in a good way.  We have dined here three times and have enjoyed it every time.
I just had half rack of lamb on 1/26/12 - one of the four nightly specials.  It was excellent and a perfect rare, I should have asked for closer to medium rare.  Hubs had a NY Strip - which was of good quality and perfectly medium rare -  only complaint is the over-powering garlic in the garlic mashed potatoes...
Side salads, French Oinion Soup and Caesar Salad are very good interpretations.
We have not tried any apps or sandwiches yet, but I bet they are as carefully made as the entrees.  They also advertise Fat Patty hamburgers, not sure what they are, but they have several intersting toppings.  We have seen them pass by to other patrons - they look good!

When the boyfriend said we were staying near the airport instead of downtown because of some events crowding up the city, I was bummed. Staying downtown would have been special. It's strange to stay in a hotel in a city you used to live in, isn't it?

Anyway, I had imagined that all the airport hotels would be like the crummy ones I've been to for bridal shows (don't ask) or technical writing seminars, but this one is not like that. It's very nice! I knew it would be nice from the moment we walked in-- the bar area and lobby are beautiful.

The room did have a couple drawbacks, like the lack of mini fridge and bathroom counter space, as others have mentioned. I was also taken aback by a red stain (ew) on the shower curtain; but overall, the room was comfortable and fancier than I'm used to. For example, who doesn't love a flatscreen TV? Also, there was a large armoir with removable hangers and a full-size ironing board and iron. We ordered a burger from room service that came very quickly and was delish. (Ten bucks plus 21% service fee. No wonder why I've never ordered room service before!)

I also enjoyed the little extras you don't see in every hotel-- earplugs (which I used, but not because of airplane noise-- that was a non-issue), sleep mask, linen spray, and a fancy make-up mirror like my grandmother had, only fancier!

I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I was pleasantly surprised by this airport, I would have to say that this hotel is the best hotel near the airport. The hotel has very nice large clean rooms. The wifi in this hotel works really good. The hotel fitness center is alright. It could stand for some higher quality treadmills and a little bit more space. There are free weights which I can always appreciate in a hotel. The only thing I didn't like about the hotel was the lack of stuff to do and eat around the hotel and the windows on the hotel are to thin. Not very energy efficient because my room heater kept turning on and off because it was having a difficult regulating the temperature in the room most likely because the windows allowed the heat to escape too quickly as they were covered in ice from the inside. Overall really nice hotel.

Will definitely stay here again. Terrific staff. Clean rooms, lobby, restaurant, etc. the hotel restaurant was much better than typical "hotel food." Room was quiet and comfortable. No complaints at all.

The good:
Nice pool, hot tub, small but adequate fitness room.
Staff was extremely polite and helpful.
Lobby very beautiful and clean.
Price was very reasonable.
Near a convenience store and McDonald's (walking distance), driving distance to a variety of restaurants.
Delicious chocolate cake at the hotel restaurant.

The meh:
Not incredibly close to the airport.
Neighborhood nothing spectacular, and kinda on the ghetto side, once you get slightly away from the hotels.
They offer long term parking, but it is more expensive and not as convenient as the super saver parking at the airport.
View is nothing spectacular.

The bad:
The bed was so hard, lumpy, and uncomfortable.  I wish I had slept on the floor instead.

I would mark this a 4 and maybe a 5 star if the bed was comfortable.  Literally I could feel springs popping up into my back.  When you are staying at an airport hotel and you are flying out the next morning, the number one thing you want is a good night's sleep, which you don't get with the bed here.

Think I'll try the Hilton Garden Inn next time.

We were here for a comic con and didn't stay the night.  It was a nice hotel, kind of posh looking on the inside for an airport hotel.  The outside is pretty drab.  It  was clean and the convention area (a ballroom) had ample space.

At least it was clean once I finally got in. Waited 30 mins outside in the cold for the shuttle, which never showed up. Called the hotel and was informed I was supposed to have called them to request it (which was mentioned nowhere in my reservation), and that it was "out now and might be another 10-30 mins" but that I had "better stay outside because if it comes and I'm not there it will just leave". Great. Finally get to hotel about an hour after I landed (and now having only 75 mins before I had to go work that night, after a 6 hour flight and this mess.) Went straight from check in to order food from the restaurant as it was about to close. Went to my room to drop my stuff, it reeked of cigarette smoke, despite it being a "non smoking" hotel. Not having the time to see if another room was available, I rushed back downstairs to get my food. It wasn't ready, waited another 10-15 mins, then finally got it up to my room, and it was cold. Cold French onion soup. Inedible. The "side of broccoli" was main-course sized and also cold. So I paid $15 for nothing. By the time I got back down there to request something hot, they were closed.
I had requested and been granted a late checkout (due to my work taking place that night, from 1-4 am, over an hour away from the hotel). Despite this AND the "do not disturb" sign hung on my door, housekeeping banged and then barged in at 10:30 am. What a miserable experience.

Very close and convenient to the airport. The shuttle driver was waiting in us as we exited the airport.
The hotel is nice, bright, clean, and the staff was very friendly.
The rooms were very fresh and looked to be either new, or newly remodeled.
Very clean and spacious.
The bed was very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.
