    Worst hotel experience I have ever had. We booked a room three months in advance for a two day stay in June. Hotel staff seemed incompetent when I booked the room directly with the hotel in March and when we went to check in that was confirmed. When we got to the room we found one bed instead of the two as we reserved. I called the desk and explained that we had four people in our party and needed a two bed room. Eventually the manager got on the phone and was incredibly rude and basically told me there was nothing he could do. Additionally, there were no cots available. While in the lobby, we heard many other people being told their reservations had been lost and there were no rooms for them.The shuttle was a disgusting van with beer bottles all over the back area. Whenever we called the shuttle we were basically told it would not be available anytime soon and had to take cabs instead. The neighborhood leaves something to be desired as well. I did not feel comfortable parking my car in the lot or walking out to it at night. The parking lot is small and parking was unavailable during most of my stay. While rooms were clean, I have never in my life experienced such rude, incompetent staff and terrible service. I strongly caution anyone from staying here.

    Nice hotel for the price, they even had our room ready early.  Staff was very nice and the location is decent.  Would stay at again for sure.

    My review is qualified by the fact that we tried to stay here yesterday, the first day of Summerfest, note I said tried.  So, I booked the room a month in advance, and when we reached the destination, I was a bit underwhelmed by the location, particularly the far distance from Summerfest (which I knew was 2 miles, but it seemed like it was much further), however, the hotel itself seemed ok, and the clerk I spoke to when I reserved the room assured me the hotel had a complimentary shuttle to the fest.  The manager helped check us in, and our room was ready early, great.  The room itself was pretty decent.  Then we were ready to hit the fest and made sure we went down 15 minutes before we were told the shuttle would leave.  It was myself, my husband, my mother-in-law, and my 1 year old with his stroller.  We were the first people out waiting for the shuttle, so I thought no problem.  There was a problem.  About 10 more people (mostly young women drinking beers and a few couples) who came out expectantly and looked at us like a challenge that needed to be conquered.  When the shuttle arrived there was a mad dash by everyone else to fill the "shuttle" - which was really a van with about 8 people maximum occupancy.  So, the manager saw what happened and came out and said he would take us there in his vehicle, really, how nice.  Would have been, but 10 minutes later we were told we had to wait for the next shuttle.  So, we decided we would just drive and pay to park.  Only problem is when we got back to the hotel around 10 pm there was no parking in their lot.  Their "free parking lot" is one of the reasons I booked this hotel.  Why a hotel wouldn't have a least one parking space per room is beyond me.  We asked the clerk where we could park and we were told that we could risk parking on the street (which is illegal) and they would call the cops and "hopefully" we wouldn't get a ticket.  My husband had enough of this place by now and we just asked if we could leave and have our money refunded, which the clerk agreed to.

    Nice Hotel with small cozy rooms with large flat screen TVs. Excellent location from downtown and I believe they provide a shuttle. However, be  wary of how they charge you for the room. We were charged  three times for one room. Two of the transactions were placed on my credit card for over two weeks as a pending. Somehow they ran it twice and they said it didn't go threw, so I put on my debit card instead and I guess that worked. Maybe it was the credit cards fault, but I've never had anything like that happen before. Overall it is a nice place.

    This place is the WORST!! Stayed here because the hotel was described as to be downtown. Well that is not true at all!! The hotel is not downtown at all (10 blocks to Bradley Center & further elsewhere). Most importantly this hotel is in a super seedy neighborhood!! There is absolutely NOTHING to walk to other than Penny's Snack Shack which I would not step foot into even if you paid me. There is no hotel security, the rooms are tiny, no dresser, 3 hangers, 100 degrees in the hallway. Oh and no one from the hotel even seemed to be surprised or cared at all that my car was broken into overnight in their parking lot. Staying here was not worth saving $30-$40 compared to a hotel in the actual downtown vacinity of Milwaukee.

    For a budget hotel its nice and clean,  new bathrooms, plasmas, super comfy beds and pillows, small rooms but fine for sleeping. Drink deals but bar is like your friend's basement bar. Fine location just out of downtown by a few blocks.

    This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The staff is incompetent when it comes to taking reservations and ensuring these reservations are correct. The staff, including the managers, is rude and unprofessional. The so-called suite we stayed in was missing basic amenities (like cups), but staff refused to bring them up to the room, claiming they were too busy. They claim to have a free shuttle but it is a dumpy unmarked van that is never available. They also claim to have free parking, but the lot is tiny and guests are forced to park on the street. The hotel is not in the best area and I found out some of the cars that had to park on the street were broken into the second night of my stay. I stayed with a group of people and the following happened to members of the group: reservations were lost and people were left without rooms, people who had requested two beds were given one and vice versa, people were overcharged, almost everyone was treated rudely, and worst of all the front desk gave a stranger a key that worked in one of our group members' room. Even if the price is cheap this hotel is NOT worth it because of the horrible staff, the many mishaps involved with staying at this hotel, and the unsafe area it is in. Run far far away from this hotel.

    Okay, this is a great place just to sleep. Its not the safest looking area but okay for the price. It was clean, they were short on staff, the place is really small, and there was  no pool. The microwave didn't work. I couldn't get pillows after I called twice and then they brought a comforter instead of a pillow as if there were no pillows. If you just want a place to lay your head for the night then this is the place. If you want anything fancy skip this one.

    This place is excellent. When I visit a town (and this was my first time in Milwaukee) I don't spend a lot of time at my hotel, so I don't need a luxury setting. But for three days I got some of the best service and cleanest surroundings I've ever enjoyed. The desk staff and managers were wonderful and the continental breakfast was very, very generous. The location is a bit of a walk from downtown, but I didn't mind at all and the hotel rates were so low that I had plenty left over for cab fare in the evenings. I know where I'm staying when I come back to Milwaukee.

    If you can afford a better place, pick the place in downtown. The staff here is a bit sketchy, not very organized, not professional. Room okay, shower good. Don't rely on hotel van service. In summary, don't go here. Go elsewhere.

    To all the bad reviewers, I have a news flash -- IT'S A DAYS INN!  If you're expecting Ritz Carlton service, then I guess you would be disappointed.  Yes, the hotel is not downtown and in a sketchy neighborhood.  And if I had known my room was so close to the lobby and the staff kitchen that I would hear EVERYTHING at all hours of the night, then I'd have a more negative perspective about the place.  But actually, it was a nice stay after all, as long as I stay on the second floor or higher.  The hotel has free shuttle service to downtown Milwaukee and Potawotami Casino.  Plus they serve hot breakfast and the general manager Patrick is really nice.  The rooms are clean and well-decorated, plus the bathrooms are modern.  And they have free wi-fi (still don't get why the budget hotels can give guests free wireless, but the fancy-pants places want to charge you??).  When Milwaukee Summerfest starts again, I wouldn't mind staying at this place again.

    Hot delicious continental breakfast and our room was newly renovated. However, walls are paper thin, we could hear people talking/partying in the room next to ours and in the hall most of the night. Also, we never had enough towels for the 4 people registered to our room.

    Ended up "getting" this hotel via priceline.  By far the WORST hotel experience I've ever had.  I had previously lived downtown Milwaukee for 10 years before moving out of state.  The inside of the hotel is renovated, and for that they get credit.

    The hotel is located in a BAD part of the city if you're going to be out at night.  They've been trying to revitalize this area for years, and it's never worked.

    When we checked in, everyone looked at us like they had never seen a white person before.  Went out to dinner, came back around 11pm.  Couldn't get in the parking lot because someone had their car in the middle of the main drive, and they were hanging out the car yelling at a group of about 20 black teens who were "hanging out" in the parking lot.  We found another way into the parking lot for fear of being witness to a shooting.  Once parked in the lot, saw a drug deal going down.  There was NO security anywhere to be seen, and even the front desk girl seemed "surprised" that no one was out there patrolling the lot.  The walls are kind of thin, so could hear lots of noise from neighbors on the sides, and below our floor.

    In the morning, went down to the continental breakfast and shouldn't have been surprised to see a cop car there, with some interviews going on.  The breakfast was ok, but again, the "staff" who were tending the station were in sweatpants, so not professional at all and a complete turn off.  When we were checking out, the guy said to us, "oh, leaving us so soon?", with 2 cops literally standing behind him going over security footage.  Finally get out of there and see 3 police forensic investigation vehicles as well as an ambulance in the parking lot.

    Would never stay there again, even if they paid me to.  Of course filled out the satisfaction survey, and they said my feedback was important to enjoy 30% off my next stay with them.....uhhh, I don't THINK so.

    This place is amazing.  It's filled with art both in the hallways and in the rooms.  The lighting in the hallways makes you feel like you are in an upscale hotel.  The rooms, while small are stylish and beautifully done.  The bathroom has funky modern features like a bowl sink and walk in stall shower with a huge shower head.  There's a refrigerator in the room as well.  The staff is very friendly and helpful and there's free shuttle service within 2 miles so everywhere downtown...no parking hassles.  I will definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

    This is a great hotel.  Clean, attractive, free wi-fi, and very friendly staff.  GREAT bed; nice big shower.   The price does encourage younger/rowdier people at times, so the noise level will vary with the crowd. I'll stay there again if I have a reason to be in Milwaukee.

    This is a budget chain motel, but that said, it's one of the best we've stayed at (over 150 in past 3 years since we travel extensively).

    PROs:
    - older (70's?) building gutted and very attractively remodeled.  Artwork everywhere.  Very modern but appealing look.
    - clean room, clean hallways, clean breakfast room and lobby
    - modern and quite different, classy bathroom; lots of marble and slick stainless steel fixtures
    - our 2 queen beds were extremely comfortable, top 10% of hotel beds we've slept on
    - staff were quite friendly
    - booked online with no hassles
    - very economical;  40% cheaper than the budget chain motel we used on our last trip to Milwaukee
    - courtesy van operates from early morning until well past midnight and will deliver or pick you up anywhere in downtown; used it twice to leave, once to be picked up, had quick service each time.  For a small fee they will transport to further points (e.g. $10 to/from airport).

    OTHER:
    - yes, not the best neighborhood, but we're 60-somethings and we walked home after dark from two different directions.  By no means a "bad" neighborhood (there are some very fancy new places 3-4 blocks away), and if you have any concerns, just use the courtesy van.
    - yes, it's not downtown, about 1 mile to the Old World 3rd Street restaurant district and north end of the Riverwalk, 2 1/4 miles to the Milwaukee Art Museum and the Discovery Center, everything else pretty much between those numbers.
    - our room with 2 queens was small but adequate, and quiet (2nd floor, back of building)

    Great value for an affordable price.

    The good: The updated room was small, but hip, tidy and comfortable.
    The bad: This place is virtually surrounded by public housing projects whose residents wander on and off the property at all hours of the day. My wife and I headed out for dinner and cocktails and returned at around 11pm to find the undersized lot completely full. One of the 'locals' shouted at me that 'it's cool to park in the street.' What choice did I have so I parked on the street where I could see my car from the room. While I was a bit worried about a ticket or break-in here, the car was fine the morning after. Wi-fi was allegedly available, but once I connected I could never actually use it. Breakfast was low-end, but at least it was provided free of charge. A very weird and disorganized vibe here, but the room was fine itself so there's your two stars.

    Filled out the post-stay survey honestly and was offered a discount to return again. I don't think so.

    We were staying at this hotel during Summerfest, and made reservations at this hotel because it has free parking, a shuttle almost anywhere you want to go in Milwaukee, and the price was right. The parking lot during Summerfest was overflowing and a few guests got tickets for parking on the street. Also, the shuttle, while convenient, is less than safe. Only a few seatbelts and our driver, the hotel manager, was talking on the phone and doing a search on his smart phone while driving a 15-passenger van! Not cool.

    The hotel has a cool, modern look, but the work (construction and decorating) was cheaply done. The shower in our bathroom had a soap rack that was crumbling (literally - I bumped into it and a chunk fell out), and there was a giant water spot above the toilet (which tells me the toilet above us was probably leaking at one time. Ew...). The lobby could be so cool - just take out the machines, advertisements that don't fit, and move the computer desk to a more out-of-the-way place.

    Breakfast tasted good - it had fresh fruit, a waffle-maker (always a plus for me), and yogurt, among the other usual suspects, but it was such a mess and I had no idea who was in charge, if there was an employee working the breakfast at all.

    Their WIFI was reliable.

    Workout room had a good variety of machines. Too bad only one of them was working properly.

    The staff was friendly and helpful (when they weren't texting and driving).

    If you're looking for a youth hostel type of environment, you'll be happy. If you're looking for a hotel environment, look elsewhere.

    MEH!  There are much nicer hotels, but the perks to this place is the continental breakfast and the shuttle.
    It's always creepy when there is security in in the parking lot watching the cars 24 hours a day.  Out of 3 rooms booked, mine was the WORST.  The bathtub didn't drain (they eventually fixed it) our phone didn't work, but they did give us $40 off because of that.
    Again, close to nothing, but utilize the shuttle.

    Rooms are nice, hotel is clean, and continental breakfast is ample.

    However, the noise levels suck, it seems half of the patrons are related to the staff working the front desk, and the business center containing two computers for patron use is sweltering.

    Aside from that, it's okay.

    The restaurant was delightful as well as the kitchen staff. But the security at the door made me feel like I should have a reason to worry about my safety in this hotel. Oh no don't let me forget the church service at the end of the floor on the 3rd level. YES!  Full on church service! How about some advanced notice. And don't believe other reviews this is not a hip upcoming neighborhood. This is in the hood!  I'm not from Milwaukee but I know a good when I see one.

    Hotel was not downtown but also not far away from it either. Don't expect to be walking anywhere though.

    First night there, the sports fans were a bit rowdy and my room was on the first floor near the lobby, so I could hear a lot of noise. Then was woke by the maid service, which was also very close to my room. I requested that I be moved off the first floor; they were very accomidating and apologetic about the noise levels.

    I didn't stay the second night I had booked because friends of mine had an extra room somewhere else. They allowed me to cancel with no hassle and were really understanding.

    Overall, I would stay here again. The rooms were beautiful and the artwork, all by local artists, was great! I thought the staff were super friendly and helpful. Not sure why everyone else had such a bad experience.

    The rooms are nice, but I'd recommend asking not to be in rooms 101 or 103. They're about 15ft from the hotel Bar and Breakfast area. Pretty loud late at night and early in the morning. The breakfast was ok, but nothing to write home about. While generally common sense, the signs in the parking lot warning us not to leave any valuables in our vehicle made us uneasy about the neighborhood. Bring your own food and drink because there isn't a convenience store, gas station, or grocery store anywhere in the area. If you don't expect to much, and simply need a place to rest your head, this place is perfect.

    Now that the renovation has been completed.
    the Hotel is comparable to any Hyatt, Starwood or Full service hotel.
    A New York style bar/club ...free shuttle ...located in Milwaukee's trendy  safe East side.
    The East side has a vibrant bar scene where MU , UWM , MAI and MIT students party.
    A great place to stay and be near all the great bars.
    Again the Days Inn name is the only downfall most people here that and move on.

    Very suspect neighborhood.  People just criss-crossing back and forth through the parking lot for no reason.  It's close to downtown by mileage but not by feel.  This place makes you feel like you left Milwaukee.  The staff was super nice.  That is the only reason it gets a 2 instead of a 1.  I wouldn't stay here again.

    Perfect hotel for:  in town for a concert, bachelor/bachelorette parties, birthday parties.  Overall, great for groups of 20-somethings who want to party.  So, I really enjoyed my stay.

    Rooms are small, but clean.  The shuttle service gets backed up on Friday and Saturday nights.

    Lively hotel bar - got really loud on Saturday night when we (a bachelorette party of 10 or so), a bachelor party and some patrons from Pride fest partied late.  Request a room anywhere except the 1st floor!  The bartender is friendly, but quickly turned into kind of a creeper.

    Neighborhood isn't as bad as people make it out to be.  It only appears sketchy.  Take the shuttle, or cabs, wherever you need to go.  There isn't much within walking distance anyway.

    Loved our stay here. Friends and I decided to get a room while I was in town and party it up... Like the true adults that we are, we stocked up on booze, booked a room and decided to get good and drunk. Our room was not done being cleaned when we checked in but we quickly overlooked that since our room was lovely, they apologized and fixed everything. The staff was very nice and we even went downstairs to the bar to try out a few drinks. The next morning we woke up massively hungover and had the best breakfast I have ever had at a days inn, biscuits/gravy, sausage, eggs, and waffles. They had the usual pastries and juice too. Would definitely recommend this as clean, reasonably priced place to stay in Milwaukee.

    Things that were great:
    -Free parking at a downtown Milwaukee hotel. This was hard to find and was one of the top reasons of why I picked this place.
    -Free shuttle, minus the fact they really like to be tipped. Which is completely fine with me for not having to deal with traffic and parking fees and still having to walk blocks away from the rave. But I don't like it when they bring it up and expect it.
    -free breakfast, minus the fact we didn't even try it because we slept in too late from staying up all night after the concert. But it was a nice add on.
    -free internet.
    -bed is pretty comfortable
    -the staff is super nice and will go out of their way. A bit unprofessional but I didn't have a problem with that.
    -check out is at noon.

    What kind of sucked:
    -when I was packing my things I noticed a small black bug on the bed. Kind of made me uneasy that I slept on it.
    -the room is kind of dirty. I wasn't sure if the splash marks on the walls were from a spray bottle cleaner that was never wiped or what....
    -long hairs on our bathroom towels. Ick.
    -our door bolt lock didn't work.
    -we were on the first floor by the bar. Super noisey when there are people drinking there at 1:30 in the morning. We were so tired and left the tv on that we slept fine. But don't expect at quiets night sleep in that room.

    Over all I liked that is was cheap and had the free parking and shuttle. But I am not sure I would stay here again. You get what you pay for. And note that I never contacted the staff about my dislikes, although I'm sure they would have done something for me I'm just not that kind of person to complain. I just wanted my review to help you decide if this place would be okay for you as it was for me...

    Definitely a Days Inn. Very low end. You can tell they are trying to make the hotel nice, but the rooms are not nice. The best part of the hotel is the shuttle which will pick you up and drop you off anywhere, all day long. The worst part is the prostitutes, yes prostitutes hanging out in the lobby all night long. The lobby does not feel safe at night. I'm pretty sure the night shift shuttle driver is a Pimp because he had prostitutes in the van every time he picked us up. I would definitely not stay here again.

    Very friendly staff!  I stayed here in order to attend a conference at the Wisconsin Center. I expected to have to navigate Milwaukee traffic and parking to attend the conference, but not only did the hotel have free WiFi, free breakfast, and free parking, they also provided a shuttle service to anywhere within 2 miles of the hotel, so I could leave my car at the hotel and be driven right to the front door of the conference!  Even though I checked out in the morning, they let me keep my car there and came and picked me up at the end of the conference - VERY appreciated!!  To top it off, they upgraded me to a king sized room with a huge TV and beautifully done bathroom. May not be the newest facility around, but I would definitely go there again.

    Stayed here. Wanted a 2 Queen room and they had none available so they threw us into a King Suite. Get a call at 2:30 a.m. that the car we drove here in was broken into. Even the officer that took care of us said not to come back to this hotel... should I say more.

    Overpriced

    Only positive is that the shuttle driver is amazing and possibly the nicest guy we met!

    Will never come back again.

    Stayed on a Wednesday night and checked in at 10pm. Elevator and floors were dirty and the bed sheet had yellow stains and pillow cases had old makeup stains.

    Around 2am I wake up to someone trying to get in my room. If I hadn't had the top lock slid over they would have been able to.

    How they had a key that worked on my room? Don't ask me. And don't ask the hotel either. Unbelievable.

    I head down to the lobby and tell the desk attendant what happened and she tells me there's no way to know if someone else was mistakenly given access, no help at all...she she seemed skeptical that anything had even happened.

    Terrible experience.

    Why 4 stars? Because it was exactly what I needed.

      ---   ---   ---

    I don't ask for much in a hotel:

    1) Cheap

    2) Not in a neighborhood where the likelihood is strong that I will be mugged.

    3) Preferably centrally(ish) located.

    4) Not infested with bugs, critters, or various other unwanted pets.

    The Days Inn was 4 for 4 on the checklist. The rooms were actually very updated and nice. It wasn't the Four Seasons, but who cares... we were in Milwaukee for 30 hours and wanted to explore, not sleep in the room.

    I would absolutely stay here again, and recommend it to anyone.

    Last night two women were shot here- Inside one of the rooms and one of them is in critical condition. (Google "days inn Milwaukee shooting") I live a few blocks east of the Days Inn and I'm saddened to hear the hotel is not bringing desirable clientele to our neighborhood. Clean up your act, Days Inn, get rid off the riff raff. You have potential to be a relatively nice hotel with respectful guests in a relatively 'ok' location. TO THE OWNERS: Stop renting your rooms to thugs and crack down on the shenanigans. Having a higher occupancy is not worth having a bad reputation as the ladder will put you out of business. I'm sure you probably don't live in the neighborhood but I do. So do my children. We don't want more crime in our neighborhood and as a business you need to respect that.

    PROS:  -Nice bathroom;
                -Stellar blowdryer;
                -Room was small but had all necessary amenities;
                -Conveniently located to downtown.

    CONS:  -On edge of bad neighborhoods;
                 -Bar fight occurred in bar/lobby hallway as we checked in (broken glass everywhere) - management tried to divert responsibility;
                 -Parking lot and lobby smelled like marijuana;
                 -Minimal hotel guest parking as it's all occupied by bar guests by 9pm Friday and Saturday;
                 -Bed was a Full, not a Queen as advertised;
                 -Vomit in the hallway Saturday and Sunday mornings;
                 -Big dirt spot on bed sheets;
                 -Broken built-in shelf in shower (severely cracked, never repaired);
                 -Breakfast bar ran out of food and coffee quickly - staff sitting around talking, not replenishing breakfast bar. Watched a hotel guest replenish the coffee carafes while staff conversed nearby.

    **We would have gone to another hotel immediately if we had not prepaid for our two nights/two rooms.

    Will not be staying here again. I'd rather pay more to go elsewhere.

    The front staff stole me, I booked the hotel with Expedia online for two days, and when I went there they asked me for my card to verify, and then the guy typed my card number in the computer!! I asked him why, he said to verify, this never happened in any hotel with me before! After I week I check my online banking and it showed that I was charged by the hotel an extra night!!!! I never used their website and never stayed more than two days... The bank helped get my money back.. Plus the beds were not clean at all..

    Some seriously good waffles.

    Continental breakfast includes some crazy good waffles, you can stray 10 seconds +/- from the suggested iron time.

    Customer service at the desk is lacking but hotel is in a good location.

    Elevator has some lights missing, things are in general disarray, but why are you looking here? It's cheap and suffices.
