We stayed at this new Marriott over the weekend. The location can't be beat. They have a 'local special price' where you can have valet parking included in your rate- it was a great deal.  The staff were all super helpful and the room was a typical Marriott room. Will definitely stay here again when we come back to Milwaukee!

We stayed here for a single night this weekend.  The hotel was nice and had a new/clean feel.  All was well and warranted a 4-5 star review until we left the hotel.  I called ahead for the valet and was told 'your car will be up in 10 minutes'.  After going down to the front (10 minutes later), my car was not ready.  I waited another 10-15 minutes and then discussed with the valet gentlemen hovering at the stand, who let me know that it's on its way.  Another 10-15 minutes go by and those that are requesting their cars to be picked up at the stand are having their cars come down.  Finally the seemingly worthless guy went on break and was replaced by a lady who personally jogged up and obtained my car that I requested almost an hour prior-to.  Unacceptable service for a Marriott hotel.  I could have parked in the lot across the street for $12 a night, but like the convenience/ease of a valet service.  What a $30 disappointment.

UPDATE: Management made it right.  Immediately reimbursed our valet fee & some hotel points.  Major Props to Hotel management for taking care of the situation.

This is a new hotel in downtown and very clean. I have been staying here for a year weekly and I find the staff too over friendly and fake. My colleagues two suitcases were stolen from the storage within the first month and he was not compensated. Even though I am Platinum Elite the staff does not try to help me if they are oversold during the busy weeks. Instructions in my Marriott online profile are not looked into as well. I have to continue staying here as I have no other option for now that is near my work.

Okay, I guess every hotel has hair on everything so we can overlook that issue. There was hair in the sink and on our towels. The Internet is awfully slow and intermittently would pause while we were working. I guess that's normal if you only use the free wifi. It takes 5 seconds to change the channel on the television (we timed it). You literally press channel up or channel down and it takes 5 seconds to load the next channel. Only some of the rooms have refrigerators. None of the rooms have microwaves, but we found that they are standard in most hotels downtown. Our hot water was only lukewarm. No full length mirror was in the room. The sheets on the beds aren't large enough to tuck. The iron leaked. The coffee maker's pump didn't work. The chamber maid did not replace our hand towels or tea.

I rescind. Went there tonight to meet my parents for dinner. The beer cheese fondue was delish, the burger with a fried egg on an amazing bun was amazing.

Our poor waitress got slammed with a huge table, but she was great! Very friendly, didn't rush us, which was great because this weekend was my parents 35th anniversary.

Hotel staff was super friendly. Hotel was über clean.

Great new Marriott addition to downtown Milwaukee.  The property feels brand new and classy.  Lots of marble and staff is UBER friendly and helpful. Quiet and very clean rooms.

Highly recommend this place.

The only complaint I have is they do not have a self-park option through the hotel.  You have to valet or find your own garage.  I don't like the valet option because I feel obligated to tip the guy every time he brings my car around.  Sometimes I leave the property 3-4 times a day during a visit.  Gets old fast.

This place was so nice!  It looked so modern and brand spanking new!  It's located downtown Milwaukee and a few blocks away from the Summerfest!  So you know this is one of the places that I plan to stay if I'm going to the Summerfest!

The staff was so friendly from the Valet (it's the city so yes you have to pay for parking) to the checkin line.  And of course downtown area you pay downtown prices to stay so that was a given.  They had plenty of staff assisting you and saying hello which I like the customer service feel.  

I stayed for one night and the room was your typical set up.  King size bed, nice wooden work desk, flat screen TV, glass see through shower, coffee station.  I didn't care much for our scenery (the back of another building).

We didn't get a chance to see they gym facility or eat in their restaurant.  You can also get your Starbucks fix, yes Marriott has a Starbucks in most of their hotels.
They did have plenty of space to lounge around.

Overall, a clean and well kept hotel.  I'd come back again and stay here.

The food was over priced but descent for a cafe.  There is a starbucks in the hotel which was nice.  The pool was dirty and the hot tub was even worse also there were no towels.  You have to park a block away or pay $25 a day for valet.  The valet took up to 20 minutes to get the car as their parking lot was a block and half away.

Up until this point we had a fair stay.  My husband forgot his wedding band on the sink in the room on the second to last day.  We were out for the day and I didn't think it was a big deal (it was a wedding band - no diamonds) but had sentimental value.  When we returned to the room, the ring was gone but our room was clean.  We went to the front desk and alerted the guest service representative who stated they would put  a claim in if we didn't come across it.  We searched the room from top to bottom and did not find it anywhere.  We alerted the front desk that it was not anywhere to be found and they proceeded with filling out the paperwork.  The front desk rep stated someone would be in contact with us.  We waited for a phone call and she proceeded to state that since the room was in my name, I had to call her (we are married lady and it was HIS ring).  I left three voicemails and she never returned my calls.  Then. I got a letter in the mail stating that they had done everything they could to recover the ring.  They did a physical search of the room which returned negative results and a lock out read of the room was done which ONLY SHOWED GUEST ENTRIES.   Who cleaned my room?  Wouldn't they need a "key" to enter? I agree that they should not be held responsible but do not make us jump through these hoops only to lie to us.  That is bad business.  The decor was nice but once you looks past the frills, you're only paying for the location.

I hadn't been to Milwaukee in a few years and the return was a pleasant surprise. The downtown area was clean and vibrant with restaurant week starting. Staying at the downtown Marriott was a last minute decision after snagging a great day of rate off the Marriott website. Valet parking is steep ($32/day) but you can walk to less expensive parking garage and self park. The room was clean and good sized. The Marriott beds are usually firm and the bed linens high thread count ensuring a good night's sleep.  The downside of the room was the view.  Ours was an even numbered room and the view out the window was of a lower roof of the building and the back windows of warehouse or other industrial type building. As it was a quick overnight trip, it didn't matter that much but would be a concern for a longer stay.   Front desk staff was helpful as could be expected at a Marriott.. There a library/sitting area with books  on the first floor of the hotel and you can sip a drink.

Spouse will be here for 4 weeks and I came up week 2 to visit. He had to ask more than once for his bedding to be changed. Staff overall are very friendly and attentive but the constant asking for towels, cups, and toiletries, is rather annoying. The rooms are very clean, as far as floor and bathrooms are concerned. No odd smells, and the hallways are kept quiet. Overall a nice place to stay, centrally located, Starbucks and a restaurant located within the hotel. Valet folks are wonderful and always great us with a hello and ask if we need directions etc. They are very welcoming!

This is a nice new Marriott in a good location. Not much of a view to speak of from my 7th floor room but the room was nice. I especially like the glass door shower. For room service, I had the spinach salad and bacon shrimp. Both were very good and not outrageously pricey for Marriott room service. I was only staying for a night so did not check out the work out facilities. Service was friendly but parking was an issue. It was not clear where the self-park was and valet was $33/night.

Huge Marriott fan.  Been platinum for year.  I was happy when Milwaukee got a full service Marriott right downtown. I booked 4 rooms for a mini family reunion. Service from valet to front desk was spectacular.  I left some personal item at the front desk and the promptly called me.  The restaurant and bar are very nice.  We had breakfast and the food was good. But again amazing service for all 7 of us.  As for the room new and modern.  Great bed and pillows. Bathroom bright and clean with a fab shower.  Now the room and bathroom are somewhat small, but it is a city hotel.  Lastly, location could not be better. You can walk everywhere.   Super close to shopping,food and bars.  If your a spa person,  I highly recommend the Well Spa.  

Thanks you to the great customer service.  Nice to see some places still have it.

Not only did I have to wait an extra 1.5 hours to get a room that's clean (beyond the 3pm checkin time), but you have to pay $10 for internet in the room. Additionally, the room smells like fish or wet, moldy canvas; I can't tell which one.

The restaurant is nice, but the service is extremely slow.

For a hotel rated 4 Diamonds by AAA, I expected much better.

This hotel is great! The rooms are very clean, very modern and super comfortable. I enjoyed the coffee in the room, the amenities and decor.

The hotel itself is in an amazing location. Close to the market bar area by wicked hop, close to the summerfest grounds and in the heart of downtown. Cap rides were dirt cheap but you could really walk everywhere. A cab ride to the amtrack station was cheap too.

The bar is very modern and has a rustic decor. I really liked it. They also had a great restaurant and a starbucks connected to the hotel. A full starbucks.

It was a very cozy hotel and very comfortable. I will always try to stay here when in the area.

Okay, this is the best Marriott in town and possibly one of the best in the country. These guys go over the top to make sure things are alright. I've had one bad experience here, and if you care to read about it, you can see my old review below. Or long story short, BE VERY careful if you decide to choose the "guaranteed" laundry service. Maybe they changed their cleaners, I hope so, but make sure you aren't dropping stuff off the day before you leave.

But moving on, this place is comfortable, the people are kind, the amenities are great, and barring some sort of freak scenario like the one I experienced, you will no doubt enjoy staying here. Go for it!

Nice new property that only recently opened. This is a "full service" Marriott which means that it has a restaurant, pool, concierge/executive lounge, and even a bellman to hail a taxi for you. It still has that "new hotel" smell.

Standard Marriott amenities - coffee and tea service, lots of towels, comfortable bed, large flat screen television, power outlets in the lamps and plenty of power outlets at the work table. As is normal for "higher end" hotels, their Internet service is only free for Gold and Platinum levels of the Marriott Rewards program, otherwise it's $15/day.

My room was mostly quiet. I could hear some noise from the hallway and I could hear some water noises from the neighboring bathroom. Nothing significant, but notable.

Great staff in the executive lounge. Very friendly, very helpful. A really nice space.

UPDATE: All rooms have a space for a refrigerator but they do not have fridges in all rooms. They're working on this. No ETA.

***This new Marriott has a great location (within walking distance of Milwaukee's beautiful lakefront area); it also showcases many of the benefits of being a new hotel like a contemporary and sleek decor; room rates are too high though***

The Milwaukee Marriott Downtown is a new hotel and that alone sets it apart from many Marriott properties.  Marriott properties just do not feel that contemporary. Even when a Marriott has been renovated, a lot of the property feels dated and even the renovated parts feel too close to the standard Marriott look.

This new Marriott feels a lot different though.  The lobby's sleeker, more modern, and more tongue-in-cheek look (bookcases in a very minimalist and stone, non-fabric room) that aligns more closely with Marriott's stylish Renaissance brand.  The Concierge Lounge also has a very modern look that is more like the lounge area of a contemporary restaurant than the annex room-like Concierge Lounges at many Marriotts.

Hallways feature great looking white doors.  The carpets though have that horrible floral pattern that is too much like the out-of-date Marriott properties.

Rooms, for the most part, stand out when measured against other Marriotts.  I really liked the white doors as well as the little white wood and glass nook for the coffee machine and ice bucket.  There was a well built closest with a nice door as opposed to those occasionally flimsy, sliding door contraptions at many Marriotts.  There were other nice touches too like glass shelves for toiletries in the bathroom and contemporary artwork on the walls.

There were other areas where this new room felt like a standard Marriott.  The bed was comfortable, but its headboard, its lighting, and the other furniture were very much standard Marriott equipment.  The shower was nice with a good wide cascade of water.  Unfortunately, it was not a glass shower though it was incredibly deep so it might work well as a bath tub.  I felt the room could have also used an in-room safe.

The 24-hr fitness center was nice--very well laid out with a good variety of machines with useful displays.

Marriott Rewards Gold and Platinum members have access to the Concierge Lounge and it is a good one.  It has a great look--very modern and organized.  The counter area is attractive and it is a great platform to showcase food.  There is also a variety of seating from several tables to a warm, study-like area with more comfortable seating options (big couch) and a flat screen TV.

For breakfast, this Concierge Lounge features your standard Marriott Concierge Lounge breakfast options, but the scrambled eggs were fluffy, moist and not soupy.  The bacon was good, crispy and meaty.  There was also a variety of individual cereal boxes, oatmeal, and fresh fruit.  There were also a few standard Marriott Concierge Lounge breakfast breads and pastries.

For dinner, they were offering cheeses and cured meats as cold items.  The cheddar cheese was standard stuff, but they were also offering brie, which you do not see at every Concierge Lounge.  The cured meats were more flavorful and more like charcuterie than the sliced deli meats you get at most Marriott Concierge Lounges.  For hot items, they had crispy duck spring rolls, which were fine--decent crispness but the filing was skimpy and dry.  There was also chicken satay, which was tender, pretty moist and came with a sweet and sour sauce that had a fair amount of heat (I also liked the nice touch of little dishes for their side sauces).

Service was very good.  The entire staff was polite, professional and friendly.  The staff had a very consistent personable vibe that shows the management's strength in hiring and training.

Room rates are high here.  This Marriott is also at a very high rewards category so it takes a lot of points to stay here if you do not want to pay their high room rates.  This hotel is still new though; maybe their room rates will come down in time.

This is a very good, upscale Marriott; its newness really pays off because this Marriott stands out in several ways compared to other Marriotts.  While it has a great location (a short walk to the beautiful lakefront area), room rates are too high.  However, if you can get a reasonable room rate here, you are likely to have a very satisfying stay.

Valet parking is available at $30/night.  The valets are very pleasant and quick.

Check-in was fast and efficient, and service was friendly. There's a cool library off the lobby. Our room had just been refurbished, and was like a brand new hotel. Valet parking is, of course, very expensive, and Internet is not included.

This hotel has a prime location in the upscale part of downtown Milwaukee and is only steps from great food like Umami Moto and Carnivore. It should also boast the outstanding  service that I've come to expect from high level Marriott hotels as a Platinum member. With that in mind, I was very disappointed with my last trip to this hotel when I found left over food in the room mini fridge and "something sticky" all over the side table. If simple cleaning like that is not done, it makes you wonder how clean the rest of the room is. All I can say is, be better Marriott, be better. . .
       If you're looking for a nicer Milwaukee experience, maybe try the Hilton on 5th and Wisconsin.

Giving the Marriott Milwaukee 5 stars for the hospitality and professionalism of the staff. I am here for a conference (not staying here) and am a nursing mom. They were able to give me my own room to use for pumping. Free of charge. Nursing moms don't usually get this kind of treatment. Kudos to Marriott for supporting working moms!!!

What can I say about the Milwaukee Marriott. Absolutely beautiful hotel and the staff treats everyone like a VIP. It starts with GM Jeff Hess who runs a great hotel and the staff who are very customer service focused. I would stay here again and again on business or pleasure.

Staying at another hotel would be a mistake. The Milwaukee Marriott is the only place to stay when you're in town.
