Hint for prospective guests: Call in to book the reservation and tell them that you're visiting the Medical College of Wisconsin. Your room rate will be cut by nearly half (to about $98 when I went, which for the quality of the hotel is a complete steal)!

The hotel's got all you need: A good gym and indoor pool (that almost no one uses), restaurant, bar, sleep number beds, and room service. It's directly across the street from the Mayfair Mall and really close to MCW. The best feature of the hotel, though, is the complementary shuttle. That's right, a FREE shuttle that'll take you to anywhere in Milwaukee, including the Gen Mitchell Airport! Just sign up a day in advance with the receptionist.

I was pleasantly surprised. Don't know why. I suppose I just had so-so expectations. Our family was holding a Memorial reception for my Mom who passed away last November. We were going to inter her ashes at a nearby cemetery & needed a place to stay & hold the memorial. Everyone one was very helpful & couldn't have been nicer. From my initial  phone contact to the final checkout, everyone was great. The room was cleaned properly with all the right details taken care of. Pretty nice room as well. The room rates were very reasonable. The Memorial reception went great thanks to Latoyia & our server, Dennis. He did a great job & made sure everyone was well taken care of. The food was good & fresh. Everyone especially loved the soup & these are fussy people. Thanks again for everything.

I have to say, when you are staying in a hotel for week, you start to miss the comforts of home, but I have to say this was a vacation from my home.  I had a smiling face at the front desk, by the name of Crystal, who essentially catered to my every need and answered my questions with a smile.

I bought food but didn't think how to heat it up, the offered to bring a microwave to my room, for the week.

The housekeeper left extras of everything from soaps to coffee cups, not sure why, but I know when I was in housekeeping, we knew how long people were there, so, maybe she took the inititive knowing I would be here a while.

The pool area is clean and tidy.  The fitness center is clean but I didn't like the treadmills, I'm picky, that way.  Restaurant Staff is very nice, and accomidates guests who don't want to pay the extra charge for roomservice, and they let you take up your food and will heat up your left overs.

It was refreshing being treated like you were at the Ritz, while not paying the price of the Ritz.

Spent 2 weekend nights here for a conference.  The biggest surprise was the food (we were served two lunches and two dinners as a part of the event), as it was definitely better than average hotel food.  This was also the first time I'd ever experienced a Sleep Number bed, although I wasn't convinced that it was working properly.  The room was very clean and comfortable, and most of the staff I interacted with were very friendly and helpful.

Amazingly nice banquet staff, and they run like a well-oiled machine. Yes they have good leadership, but the banquet staff themselves are skilled and experienced. I was a DJ for wedding there on June 7th. The staff was SO helpful, the room was beautiful, and the food was good! The aesthetics of the place are really quite impressive, and everything from the restrooms to the silverware were high quality. A nice, centrally-located venue for any event.

I was recently put up here by a potential employer while I was in town for an interview and I guess it was pretty nice. The hotel is located in an "anywhere USA" suburb of Milwaukee called Wauwatosa. It's about a 20 minute drive to downtown. As for a central location it's pretty good.

Overall, the place is clean, generally well organized and the staff is friendly. There's a small pool for guests that just about big enough to get some decent laps in and there's a small gym in the lower level with some ellipticals and treadmills. The beds are comfortable albeit a bit on the soft side for me. The flat screens are a nice size and feature a swivel base. A good feature for the double queen rooms. The digital thermostats were easy to use and held temp very well. The free wi-fi was adequate but on the slow side. I clocked it at about 500kbps.

I do have a few gripes about my visit:

Our room service experience was not good. My wife put the little door hangy thing on the night before for delivery between 7 and 7:15am the following morning. 7 comes and goes, 7:15 comes and goes, and so on and so on. We called the front desk at 7:40 and were informed that it was "on its way". Ten minutes later we hear a knock on the door. C'mon, people. There's no excuse for this. And on top of this all room service orders have an automatic 19% gratuity on the bill! Anyway, the food was just OK. Oh yeah, we also ordered the small fruit plate and were given (and charged for) the large. Ugh.

The bathrooms are damn small. I'm not asking for Taj Mahal accommodations, but when I can't step out of the shower unless I close the door or step over the toilet there's a bit of a problem.

    No continental breakfast. Nuff said.

A water stain on the floor under the sink that looked like it was the result of some leaky pipes. It didn't look like it was still leaking, but just took away a few class points.

I guess as far as mid-tier hotels are concerned you could do alot worse. They do have a bar/restaurant attached with a beach theme and a giant shark outside if that's your thing.

Service here is unbelievably terrible. We booked a room for 3 adults, paid well over $100, and when we checked in at check in time they put us in a room with a king bed. For 3 adults!! When we complained, they told us they were overbooked and could only offer us a cot. That might be ok for a child, but an adult should be able to have a bed, especially when we made reservations over 3 months ago. I can't believe the hotel would think 1 king bed is OK for a reservation with 3 adults. Never returning to this hotel.

This is my first time at this property. I usually stay down the street at the Crowne Plaza which is closer to my office. This week was busy with Summerfeast starting and I had no choice but to stay her.

The Lobby - nice, festive area. they have a large bar and dining area with an outside seating area for when it nice. Did not have a chance to eat or drink but it look decent.

Staff/Check In went relatively smoothly although I did have to wait a bit, they did not have many people checking in customers but the staff was friendly and accommodating.

Elevators: only 2 and they are a bit slow. It can get a little backed up when busy.

Hallways - very run down, ripped and stained carpet, worn paint and wallpaper. the hallways need a facelift

The rooms - clean and comfortable. My room showed no signs of wear and tear.  I was able to get a decent nights sleep in their beds. It was quite, never heard my neighbors or any other distractions. AC/Heater seems to work properly. One down side is the limited outlets for power. Nice big picture windows looking out. room has water, coffee and tea service.

The area - there is a large mall across the street with plenty of shopping and dining. There is a Dave & Busters down the street and a Walgreens right across the street.

The rate, we have a company rate so the value for what you get is very good for the value.

Good hotel as long as u want to freeze to death it's Feb for vday and the heat in our room won't go past 65 and it's blowing out cold air and maintained is useless and the guy at the front desk is even more useless so I'd suggest to go somewhere else!!!

I came on a day when the Harley Davidson convention was being held and I understand hotels can get busy, but this just put such a bad taste in my mouth. I arrived at 11:30AM and was told there were no rooms and to come back at 3PM. I came at 2:30PM and there was a huge line of people waiting for rooms. No rooms were available from 11:30AM - 2:59PM, but somehow at 3:00PM, all of a sudden there were enough rooms to accommodate the 20 people waiting on line...hmm, interesting...

After I finally got my room, I headed to the gym which was extremely tiny. Don't expect to do an amazing workout. More importantly, the rooms were clean and the bed was extremely comfortable for some reason, but I was still a little skeptical about this place. My suspicions came true when I had a do not disturb sign on my door and they still entered the room. Luckily I had the lock on the door and was only eating lunch, but it's not very reassuring to know that people are going to just walk right in and pay no mind to the sign that is on the door.

They are conveniently located across the street from the mall, which has a ton of food options, but that's about it. I would only come back for a one night stay, but that's about it. Even though the room was clean and the bed was comfy, you'll get the bare minimum here and you'll likely be sleeping in fear that you'll wake up to someone vacuuming your room.

Not bad. A central location to my sister in laws home, the airport and the theater in which she graduated from for medical school. It's a typical hotel/radisson.

The beds were a bit uncomfortable and I could do with a harder pillow. But overall it was pretty comfy and clean.

I liked the (very shallow) pool for doing a few laps, and the restaurant & bar downstairs was decent.

I asked for extra conditioner and was immediately supplied!

My "knock" is that room service entirely screwed up our order for breakfast as we were getting ready to start our day. She brought an incorrect dish and tried to blame it on everyone but herself. I felt badly as she was a sweet girl, but we wanted the correct breakfast (which we eventually got).

    Not a bad stay.
