Small room and not updated for $105.  Rooms like this are about $60 on the main drag in the Dells.  My room was only 12 feet wide and had a tube television.  Flat screens are only a few hundred now a days so why don't they update.  The bathroom was so dim I check the bulbs and they were 40 watts.  How cheap can you get?  The only good thing is that it is very clean.

Yes. I am a fan of the Best Western Ambassador Inn & Suites in...The Dells. For those of you who don't know (shame, shame), The Dells is a summertime paradise of kitschy goodness, and it is absolutely worth seeing/doing it once in your life--if at least for a good chuckle. But to enjoy your stay, it is essential that you NOT crash in a flea-ridden, downtrodden motel of the past, but that you take Best Western up on their decent rates and clean rooms.

With a well-maintained website, it was easy to determine what room we wanted--king bed with jacuzzi!--and super reasonable considering Best Western gives AAA members a discount on all rooms. I easily booked our room over the phone about a day ahead of time, and due to the short notice, they charged the room before our stay as we wouldn't be allowed to cancel our reservation. Since we were a sure thing, it was no big deal.

We arrived and front desk service was super friendly and hassle-free. After signing a couple forms, we entered our room to find a perfectly adequate, if not slightly outdated, room with a comfy bed and a HUGE jacuzzi tub fit for a king. And for the smokers out there, the Ambassador Inn still offers smoking rooms, and luckily they are at the other end of the hotel, so the non-smoking hallways don't smell like an ashtray. As for the location, the Ambassador Inn isn't a part of the main drag through The Dells, but it's a hop, skip and a jump from all the action. And to make up for the fact that they don't offer breakfast, there's a Denny's practically in the parking lot.

So when you decide to take the plunge and indulge in some summertime kitschy goodness, or even some wholesome family fun, the Best Western Ambassador Inn is certainly a viable (and bug-free) option. Don't forget your AAA card!

Stayed here a few nights ago. for 2 nights, Booked the king/jacuzzi room, which ended up being at the back end of the hotel. The wifi signal was almost non existent, along with not really good cell coverage, it was difficult to access the internet.  The room was clean, and the pools looked nice, but we didnt take advantage of them.  The morning breakfast was the typical waffle and continental breakfast offered at other BW's.  One major note is that they make you prepay your hotel stay.  Bed was very comfortable as well.
The jacuzzi tub was huge,  room enough for 2 adults to sit in comfortably.  not sure i'd stay here again but would consider it.  Not near any attractions, although the Paul bunyan retaurant is right down the st as is a dunkin donuts and dennys is right across the parking lot

Keep in mind, this is not a five star hotel, but for what it is, I give five big shiny stars. Clear as mud?

The hotel is positioned close enough to walk up to "the strip", and close to a lot of dining options. The fridge in the room was large enough to accommodate a few days of groceries, making our beach lunches simple and easy.

The hotel, while not a mega waterpark, offered two generous pools, one indoor and one outdoor. Both pool areas had ample seating, hot tubs, and a sauna at the indoor pool. The areas were clean and well maintained....and this can be said for the entire hotel.

The fair rate and friendly staff will bring me right back to this hotel next time I visit the area.

My only suggestion for improvement is lighting up the side parking lot a little better.  On busy nights, the well-lit parking goes very quickly.

I always stay at this hotel when I take a get away in the dells.  I've stayed here for about 6 years now and I have noticed a drop in quality at the hotel, but it's still a great hotel to stay in.  The rates are good and the staff are really nice and caring.

We always have a lot of people when we stay here, and we've never encountered any problems with booking or staff.  The rooms are a little bland, but nice seeing as it's a chain hotel.  The breakfast is great and I haven't had any complaints about it yet.

I think I might be in the same room that Bianca (other reviewer here) stayed in.  Huge hot tub (but a little dirty) and small shower.  The room itself is okay, but there is absolutely no sound barrier between rooms.  Ask for a top floor room...otherwise the sound of people walking on your head is going to drive you crazy...and the walking down the hall isn't much better :(

First time we stayed our room was dirty, dried pee on the toilet and a very bad vacuum job. and then the second time witch was 2 weeks later, our room smelled like cigarette smoke really bad. but thankfully they gave us a new one right away, and it was a good clean room. over all we will go back for the good price they have and swimming pool and pass to chula vista.

Very happy with our stay at the Best Western. My wife and I stayed here with our 2 kids ages 4 and 1. The hotel staff was awesome. If a women by the name of Maggie is working the front desk, she will go out of her way to make your stay everything that it can be. She is great and should be running that place! The pool is nice, room was clean, water pressure was good. Nothing to complain about. It is a great place to stay and enjoy the dells if you are looking to get away to the dells and want to enjoy the h2o parks without having to pay up for the expensive resorts down the road.

Just finished our stay at best western for 3 nights. My boyfriend and I stayed in a king suite and we were very pleased. It was very clean and roomy. Our room was cleaned everyday. The pool outside was a great temperature and the water was clean. We were happy to get tickets to both Chula Vista and mt. Olympus. Easy check in and check out. It was great stay.

Don't waste your money staying here. Pay the extra money and stay somewhere that has workers who don't lack customer service and aren't rude to their customers. We had nothing but problems as soon as we tried to check in. They couldn't find our reservation that we made through Expedia and made us pay again. They were very rude about it. Then when we wanted to check out a day early because of how horrible the hotel was, they wouldn't let us because we paid cash. Our room smelled like urine. Their wifi didn't work. Our bathroom door was broke. The "soap" they provide in the shower smells like Pinesol and doesn't lather. The breakfast is a joke. Everything about this hotel is horrible. We will make sure to tell all of our friends and family how horrible this hotel is so they don't ever have to find out for themselves.

The hubby and I stayed here last fall.  The rooms were spacious and clean which is all we really ask for.  The indoor pool was great!  The pool was large and the hot tub was very relaxing!  The staff was friendly and location was off the main drag but not far from anything.

My boyfriend and I came to Wisconsin Dells for our anniversary. We stayed here and I was so pleasantly surprised! We paid a lot for our room ($200 a night because of last-minute booking) and weren't expecting much. We walked in to find a large bathroom with a huge jacuzzi! The shower was a little small, but no complaining there. There was a standard-sized mini fridge, microwave, two TVs, the king bed was super comfy, and we had a little living-room-type space with a couch and a coffee table.

They have free continental breakfast in the morning, but it gets packed with all the kids. Standard fare, but they also have a couple waffle makers! If the short line for the waffle makers deters you, but go into the parking lot... FOR DENNY'S. That's right. There's a Denny's in the parking lot! Even on a busy morning, their service was quick!

There's also a smaller arcade by the lobby, which is perfect for keeping the kids entertained while staying in the hotel. Otherwise, they offer free waterpark passes to Chula Vista's waterpark, and they give you a thick pamphlet of coupons for restaurants, attractions, and activities close-by!

There's an indoor and outdoor pool, both with hot tubs. Didn't make it to the outdoor pool area... it was freezing this weekend! The inside pool was slightly warm (in a good way) but the hot tub was loaded with chlorine! Couldn't stay in it long... we just went back upstairs to our jacuzzi.

Location-wise, it was perfect. It was just far away enough to avoid crazy traffic from Downtown Dells. Also, there's a lot of chain food options close-by such as Culver's, Applebee's, Taco Bell, Dunkin' Donuts, Starbucks, Jimmy John's, and a Lumberjack place. It's still close enough to Downtown Dells so that you don't miss the action. It was also easy to get to Wal-Mart and Kohl's to get sweatshirts and other things to keep us warm! (We weren't expecting cold weather!)

Overall, I'm very pleased with our stay here... We didn't even go with kids! I would definitely stay here again!

The room we had was spacious, clean and we had five pp in the room.

Front desk was friendly. Location was perfect, right off the expressway and near everything.

I would like to see a protein served during breakfast. I loved the grills by the outdoor pool, covered shelter, plenty of seating.

Family friendly. Free tickets to Mt. Olympus and Chula vista.

We booked a room here as a last minute thing in Wisconsin Dells. We picked this place because of the price and it did not disappoint. The room was basic but had everything we needed. Not super updated but not outdated either. We loved that they had a continental breakfast. When going on vacation with kids we want to make sure they get their 3 meals but breakfast is usually a waste of money because of how little they eat so the continental breakfast was perfect.

They issued us free tickets to the nearby indoor waterpark which was a score! It was still cold out so it was perfect. They also have an indoor pool and hot tub which was awesome for the kids and us adults alike. What was even cooler was the mini arcade they had. We have little ones so an arcade that they can roam around and can't get lost is perfect.

All in all it was a great experience for the price but FYI the price of their rooms nearly triple in the high season.

    1) Card readers for outside doors smashed and laying on ground.  Staffs response - We have new readers on order.  No, we can't  let our customers know that the only way to get in is through the main entrance.

    2) Card reader to the room won't  read the "new" cards.  If you want to leave and come back, you'll  need to have front desk contact the security gaurd, cause his card works.

    3) Can't  close bathroom door completely because it's  so warped from water damage and not having the door trimmed correctly to clear  the threshold.

We had a great stay for a short getaway and can recommend the hotel particularly for families.  Two things which make an important difference:  the address and breakfast exceeded our expectations.  First, when I see "Frontage Road" and am pulling off an interstate highway, I think of a room facing the sound of semis driving by all night.  The hotel, however, is well removed from the highway with quiet and trees nearby.  Second:  to me "continental breakfast" sounds like a cellophane wrapped high fructose syrup muffin.  The hotel had a marvelous breakfast with fresh eggs, sausage and make your own waffles, and even the coffee was excellent (Ill take it over Starbucks).  The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff courteous and professional and ensured we had a good stay.
