We stayed here one night on our way to Chicago.  It's a well kept but older propery with old furnishings. The indoor pool area was very nice and new, with a hot tub and sauna.  We got several coupons at check-in which saved us about $25 on dinner and the couple of activities that we did that night.
If your kids are used to staying at modern hotels, they may be creeped out by the age of the building and furnishings.  (Either that or you realize that kids are spoiled today and you survived when you stayed motels like this growing up!)

I gave in- I actually booked another stay here w/my sister next weekend, lol.  You can't beat the price and the walking distance to the 'strip' downtown.

Needed a cheap and clean place to stay during a weekend vaca in the Dells and Indian Trail Motel fit the bill. We knew we wouldn't be spending a lot of time in the room so as long as it had a clean bathroom and bed we were sold. Indian Trail is right off the downtown area so it isn't within walking distance to some of the major attractions that are on the parkway. The area was quiet though and was just a quick drive to everything. The room itself was clean although a tad outdated...I think that is expected in the Dells through. I've stayed at tons of places in the Dells throughout my life and this was by far one of the cleanest motels. There was an indoor pool/hot tub, outdoor pool, ping pong tables, game room and walking trail. I also believe they have a bon fire for smores but we had already checked out so we weren't able to participate. The room rate is also reasonably priced. You won't get any water park vouchers like some places offer but they did give some sort of fun pass where you received certain discounts at participating restaurants/shops.

Cheap. Clean. Friendly. Great Location.

Free wifi, fridge, microwave, were three things I was not expecting at a 'motel' but all three came with my two night stay at a very reasonable rate in the Wis. Dells. If I'm back in the Dells I'll be back here. Because it's so close to downtown (walked there) I didn't have time to use the indoor or outdoor pool or check out their nature trail. The staff was very friendly, the room was clean -- the only thing I asked for was another pillow, and they were more than happy to provide it.

Nice place. And the discount cards for the attractions were great too!

The best feature of Indian Trail Motel is its proximity to the strip in downtown Dells.  And there's a decent size pool, and free wifi.  And it was the best deal I could find.

The perks end there.  I always wondered what was wrong with people who complained about beds in hotels.  Now I understand, because these beds were terrible!  Also, there was a very loud, rowdy group in our hotel room next door.  I knocked on the wall, they didn't get it.  Finally, I pounded on the wall and yelled "SHUT THE F* UP!" and, around 5:00 a.m., we were able to go to sleep.

Hmm, bathrooms were sort of dirty too.  But this is an older motel, so what do you expect, granite countertops aren't happening here.

So why the three stars?  I loved the location, and honestly I would stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The buildings are on the older side, washrooms a bit tight. But staff was very friendly, room was very clean, plenty of towels without even asking. It was a real plus to be able to park right outside your room door. Reminded me of nostalgic times in the Dells. If you want deluxe pillows and plush linens, then one of the big $$ hotels would be better, which we are sometimes in the mood for. But for a classic Dells stay, I'd say this is one of the best.
