I had been to this hotel before, I couldn't remember any complaints but I assume something drastic has changed such as ownership of the resort because the most recent stay I had was atrocious. Leaving notes like "you're gross" were tempting, but neither housekeeping nor anyone else would really appreciate those I'm sure. Upon arrival, there were smudges and smears on the counters, and fingernails on one of the beds, great first impression. Now, before I go on, I must say that the theme of the hotel and their theme pool/water park area was really cool. The pictures on the walls, the covers on the bed and the trim of the curtains and wallpaper even gave it a rainforesty atmosphere. The location isn't too bad either. Back to probably the most horrific part of the stay for me was giving a hefty tip to the woman who was keeping the housekeeper kids (I say this because the entire staff of this hotel seemed to be between 13 and 17 with a couple older folks here and there like this woman I'm talking about) and finding that after promising to do an extra nice job cleaning the room (of which the smears and things my party had gone out to clean ourselves with Windex etc.) we came back to the room later in the evening to find that not even the beds were made. This was OUTRAGEOUS. Outside of the housekeepers not even knocking but opening the door one morning to hear voices, realizing people were still there and then leaving the door partway open and scampering off, I wouldn't recommend anyone stay at the Raintree until they clean up their act.

Dirty, stained sheets and carpeting-yuk!!!!  I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!!  It is so bad that I am still on my vacation and I felt the need to write this review now and warn others!!  This hotel is seriously understaffed.  Check in is guaranteed at four o'clock and a line formed out the door until five because the rooms were not ready.  Our room had no toilet paper the first day, we called several times and nothing was done.  The second night our sink handle broke off and they sent up the bartender to fix it. The bartender suggested to us just to use the tub to wash our hands.  The staff consisted of 15 year old teenagers, I asked for managers and got the run around.  DO NOT STAY HERE!!

So far, we've had to change rooms- our choice sins the a/c was blowing warm air on a 86 degree day.  The in room coffee maker and bathroom sink faucet are broken.  The place is somewhat tired and dingy- the elevator actually smells bad- our room, now non smoking, is awfully ozone smelling, but adequate.  Tons of kids, as expected.  I doubt we would stay here again.  We stayed at the Monaco last time, it's more money, but nicer and more welcoming.

Meh. Not the worst hotel I've ever been to, but far, far from the best. I wish I'd read these reviews before we'd gone; we'd have booked elsewhere.

The good: the game room is reasonably priced, and my kids had oodles of fun picking out some pretty good prizes. The pool is still new enough to be in good shape. Centrally located to Dells craziness. The suite we got was big, especially for the price. The whole facility is nonsmoking.

The rest: I'll completely agree the Raintree does not seem well-maintained. All the little details are lacking: things were passably clean, but certainly not immaculate. The pool towels were small and scratchy. The in-room fridge was only about 15 degrees cooler than the room, and in desperate need of defrosting. This place has tiniest hotel soaps I have ever seen. Paper-thin walls: the kids on the floor above us kept us up late, late with their antics, which could be heard perfectly through the ceiling.

The water in the outdoor waterpark was too cold to play in, and it's the end of the summer. I would have thought even unheated pools would be warm by now.

    Yeah, no. Not coming back.
